Short Summary of their plotline: Mar left his elitist pure kelpi herd in the west, and settled down at the lake near the village. Celeste had left her own herd as well, and after passing through the village, found him at the lake. They became fast awkward friends. After beating around the bush for the longest time, they became an official pair, and have had a batch of children and a wishing star child. Outside of that, their life together is pretty peaceful despite their histories.
What are their parents' personalities? Mother: Evasive; Celeste prefers to be snarky and distance herself from gushy feelings. She revels in being a pest once she's comfortable enough around someone.
Father: Melancholy; deadpan, hard to rouse, and not sure how to handle basically all silly situations thrown at him. That's Mar for you. Jokes will get an eyebrow quirk at best.
Do the parents have professions? Mother: The brains of the family, I guess.
Father: Aaaand the muscle.
Link to RP(s) where something happens of importance: N/A :') Backplotting, however, includes the fact that one of their children ran off because she wanted to learn how to fly but had no options. That was rather devastating to the family for a bit, and was even part of why Mar ended up approaching a wishing star.
What are their family dynamics? Both share the responsibility pretty evenly. Celeste is more fun, cracks jokes (especially at Mar's expense) and has a harder time showing affection outside of quips. But that doesn't mean she isn't mama bear even though she's a very dinky size. She likes to sic the kids on Mar, though.
Mar is a very patient father, willing to answer any questions he can and lets kids take out their energy on him. He's also the parent to truly fear, being so large and a kelpi at that. If any child is injured by another horse, look out.
Traditions: Leaving fish at the wishing star, being harassed by jellyfish
Herd/Family Culture: Kelpi culture is more important than wind culture; foals learn how to swim at an early age whether or not they have kelpi tails. If they can eat fish, they're taught how to hunt them. The lake is seen as the end-all be-all for a place to live for the longest time. If a child doesn't want to leave once they mature, they don't have to. The parents are stationary, so they can't really tell anyone they can't be.
Learning how to fly is left up to finding a teacher since Celeste can't fly herself.
