Blah Blah Blah Erythrite absolutely adored her new form. She was strong, gorgeous, and powerful as an officer, in a way that she wasn’t before. And no one would ever recognize her, thanks to the glamour.
The only issue, of course, was that no one would recognize her, and so she was a little concerned her fake ID wouldn’t work when she tried to get into a club. Sure, her outfit was a little unusual, but she looked hot enough that she was pretty sure it didn’t matter, and she’d be able to blend in well enough - if she could get past the door.
She wasn’t sure what was smiling down on her, but the bouncer barely even looked at the ID, he was so busy staring at her, and he waved her right in.
Step one: complete.
Step two was going to be less fun, because step two was Operation: Locate a Sleaze. She swaggered over to the bar and set up, ordering a drink, and it only took a few minutes before there was someone hitting on her. She was a pretty girl with a drink in her hand, and he started buying them for her, and she realized very quickly what he was doing.
Step two, complete.
A few drinks in, she leaned in towards his ear.
“You’re exactly what I’m looking for tonight,” she said, and then she slid off her barstool. “Why don’t you meet me out back?”
She sashayed away, and she felt his eyes on her the entire time. Oh yeah, that was one for being hot and having the right outfit.
She waited a few minutes, and he came staggering out. She waltzed over, pushing him against the wall, leaning in close.
“You know how I said you were what I was looking for?” She asked, her voice as sultry as possible.
“Yeah?” He said, eyes wide.
“I’m not looking to get laid.” And then her grin became twisted, and she clamped one hand over his mouth and one on his shoulder and she began to drain him of energy, until he wobbled and his eyes rolled back. She leaned in and kissed his cheek, leaving a bright red lipstick mark, before she let go and let him fall to the ground.
“You’re a pig,” she said, as she turned and walked away.
She felt powerful, more now than she had even before. She’d just picked up some gross pervert, who normally she wouldn’t go near, and she’d made him pay for being disgusting. That, as far as she was concerned, was a night’s reward on its own.
She’d have to try again, at a different club, because it had worked so well at the first. And then she’d do it again night after night, because she was finally going to get to pay back every disgusting man who had ever felt her up or tried to pressure her into something she didn’t want to do, because now she was Lt. Erythrite, and she could drain them until they passed out in the trash.

Tik Tok Delilah very rarely thought about visiting her siblings’ friends - it really wasn’t her job, they weren’t her friends, and there was no motivation for her to do so. But lately...well.
Lately Gabriel Blake had seemed even weirder than usual. Everyone was on edge with Cait’s disappearance, but he seemed even jumpier than everyone else, and every time the subject of her sister came up, he seemed guilty. That was the only word for the expression she’d read on his face. There was no reason for him to feel that way, as far as she knew, so she had decided that she was going to have a little private chat with him to weasel out whatever information she could.
She’d slipped into the bookstore - the owner was there, and told her Gabriel was off for lunch, in his apartment upstairs - and then up to the front door.
And that was when she heard the argument. The tail end, it had to be, but it was enough.
“Goddamnit, Cait -” Gabriel’s voice was sharp, angry, a phrase all too familiar to Lila herself.
“Don’t you dare call me that! You know that’s not me anymore!” A female voice, familiar but not quite placeable, in a way that tore at her heart. Gabriel sighed heavily.
“Sorry, Clary - just, you know exactly how I feel about Bischofite.”
“Look, if you don’t want to face him again after what happened last time, fine, but just say that. Christ it’s handing off a letter, you don’t even have to talk to him, really, just shove it at him. Don’t even tell him it’s from me.”
“Yes, because he’ll totally take a note from me when he likes me about as much as I like him. Why can’t you deliver it yourself?”
“Because he’s pissed at me, Gabriel, that’s the point of the apology note.” There was a huff of exasperation. “Besides...I need you to do this. Please. For me.” Lila recognized that tone, it was the exact kind someone used to manipulate another person into doing what they wanted out of pure guilt.
“Fine,” Gabriel said. “Fine.” There were footsteps towards the door, and Delilah stumbled backwards. Gabriel opened the door, and then he stared at her, eyes wide.
“Um.” He said, and then he swallowed. “How...much did you...hear…?” He asked, looking terrified and fiddling with the envelope in his hands. The note, she guessed, from the girl he’d called Cait.
“Enough,” Delilah said, and then, without really thinking, she powered up into Lieutenant Erythrite and bolted, down the stairs and out the back way from the bookstore so she wouldn’t have to face the owner.
There were so many questions circling in her head - most of all, why Gabriel and some unknown girl he’d called Cait before she corrected him - said that wasn’t her anymore - were talking about what sounded like a Negaverse officer. Was Gabriel an officer?
Was Cait?

Sleazy Erythrite was hunting, and for once she was actually hunting someone on her own side. She wasn’t sure what Gabriel’s Negaverse identity was, but surely knowing he was an officer would be enough to recognize him in uniform, right? Or maybe she’d just shake down every male she ran into that was about his height and had red hair. That would also do until she found him.
Feeling a General-level signature nearby, she stopped, frowning. When the signature was suddenly right behind her, she spun, looking up at someone who fit the exact description she was thinking of. A few inches taller than her, red hair…
“Delilah! Er - Lieutenant...uhm, I don’t actually know.” Her eyes widened, and she realized that yes, under that uniform was her sister’s dorky best friend, looking surprisingly put together. (Oh no, he was kinda hot, but that was a worry for later.)
“Erythrite,” she said, her voice a little sharp. “And yours, General?”
“Natron,” he breathed. “What did you hear? Outside my apartment.”
“I heard you call a girl Cait.” She growled back, her eyes narrowed. "And she said she wasn't anymore. What the hell is going on?"
Natron's eyes were wide, and he took a step back from her, hands held up.
"Cait was a Senshi. Is a Senshi. s**t happened, and she decided to corrupt into the Negaverse. Luckily she found me, and told me her identity before she did. But she...doesn't remember being Cait anymore, she only knows that's her name because I ******** up and called her by it." He sighed. "She's still the same person, really - just with a different name. She's, uhm, Clary now. Clarisse."
Erythrite was silent through the whole explanation, but she started stepping towards him, and then, with no consideration that he was a superior officer and this was totally going to get her in trouble if he chose to tell, she slapped him as hard as she could across the face.
"You a*****e! You've known where she was this whole time! No wonder you've been so ******** squirrelly - you helped murder my little sister!" To her, that was what it felt like. Cait no longer had her memories, was lost to her family forever - whatever person lived in the body that used to belong to her, it wasn't her sister anymore.
She still wasn't thinking when she threw herself, bodily, at the General, taking him off his feet - probably only by surprise. She started pounding on his chest, punching over and over and over as hard as she could, and she could feel the air leaving his lungs every time she did. He wasn't even putting up a fight, and she was blinded utterly by rage.
Without thinking, her hand sunk into his chest and wrapped aorund his starseed - and that triggered him into action. His knee came up against her gut, with more force than she could even anticipate, and she released her grip, rolling off him. She lay on her back, gasping for breath, as he stood up.
"Erythrite." Natron's voice was sharp. "Delilah." When he addressed her by her civilian name, it was softer, more gentle. "She's not dead. And I've never seen her happier. Chaos saved her, and she'll swear that up and down. It was a choice she made, not one I made for her. And please, stop by sometime and talk to her. She'd like to see you." Then, he vanished.
She lay there long after he was gone, and considered. As far as she was concerned, he could talk it up all he wanted, but Cait was dead, replaced by someone else.
It was nice to finally have closure, even if it was closure that set a bitter feeling of rage in her gut.
