"Why is it always me?" Peklo whispered to herself.
She hadn't transformed outside of visiting the surrounding in a long time. She'd been too scared to after almost dying what seemed like a thousand times at the hands of measly youmas. It was too scary, and even with ********* encouragement so many months ago, Peklo just hadn't found the heart to do it.
But after a talk with Princess Chronos, she'd decided to give a go again.
Only to run into an enemy. Not even a tiny youma, a full blown negaverse agent. If there was anything more terrifying than that in Destiny City, Peklo was certain she'd move to a different town.
The way they were positioned, Peklo was certain that the person had already seen her, though she couldn't be certain of who the person was (that is, she had never seen the person before). There was no escaping. Oh no.

Erythrite usually wasn't a violent person. Really she wasn't. But lately - well. Lately she'd developed a taste for using her powers as an officer of the Negaverse for more than just paying sleazy jerks back with drained energy. Lately, she'd thought that violence might be more of a fun way to do things.
"Lately" being "ever since her little sister disappeared without a trace and her family started to shake apart." At first she'd sought comfort in her girlfriend, but that had proved hollow, in the end. So she'd started stalking the streets with far more predatory intent, and she had found it delightful. Tonight, her prey was a Page. A cute one, but still the enemy. Tragic, really.
"What's the matter, sweetie?" She asked, as she slowly approached. "Afraid of little ol' me?"

She'd been spotted! Like the little mouse she was, Peklo attempted to back up very slowly and enjoy the scenery- as though she hadn't noticed the woman look directly at her. As though she simply didn't hear the direct address to her personage. Nothing to see here, right ...?
Except the woman was now approaching her very slowly and becoming more intimidating by the second. "Um. Me? W-Would you l-leave me alone if I said yes? I am v-v-very scared."
Well, it was the truth.

Erythrite kept approaching, and right then she kinda wished she could teleport - that would really give this little mouse of a girl a shock, wouldn't it? But this was fun enough on its own, in a really awful sort of way.
"Sorry, but that'd be a no," Erythrite confessed, picking up her pace as she planned the best way to attack. "See, you caught me on a really bad day, so I'd like to make sure you stay good and scared of the Negaverse."

Peklo continued backing up, trying not to give away more than she needed to. Erythrite looked scarier and scarier with each step, like Frankenstein's monster approaching the crowd. Except Peklo wasn't turning into an angry mob, keen on eliminating Erythrite. Quite the opposite, actually.
"Oh um. D-Don't worry about me!" she reassured, with an awkward laugh. "I'm adaqu-quately scared!" How many more times would she have to repeat that until these negaversers got the idea!
She felt her palms press against the back of a wall. The motion was so sudden that she whipped around to see the wall of a supermarket meeting her backside. Cornered! "Um so if you don't mind I am just going to g-get going um okay ... bye ..." She then slowly began inching away from the battle, as if that would do something.

Oh god, this poor girl looked like she was going to cry or pass out, one or the other. Were Erythrite in anything like a friendly mood, she probably would've retreated, because attacking someone who was so totally terrified of her really wasn't going to be worth it.
Today, though, the fear just urged her on. So once she was close enough, she swept out her leg to take the girl off her feet. Maybe it was cruel, but beating on a downed enemy would be exactly what she needed.
"I really don't think you are."

It was hard to ignore the different energies coming from the same vicinity. The mere closeness of the auras was all a particular Neptunian Knight needed to steer him in that particular direction. His lips couldn't help but curl briefly for a smile as he debated if his assistance would change the tides.
Internal ocean puns. It was just terrible.
It seemed as if it was a matter of the fairer sex. The opponents were both female, each with a different aura type. As he approached swiftly, the girl with the chaotic aura lashed out at the other with the orderly aura. The Negaverse Lieutenant's intent was clear, to get the Page on the ground.
However, it would not happen now that he was there to assist.
Slipping in behind the pigtailed Page, the teal-haired knight prepared to catch the girl before she fell to the ground.
"I apologize for making you wait, my dear. Might I ask who your new friend is?" The Neptunian knight was a stranger, but for the moment he was speaking in a familiar manner, as if he knew the Page personally.

Peklo was just waiting for her impending death when Nysa stepped in. She gasped, somewhat dazzled by Nysa's knightly glow. He was sparkly, okay! She couldn't help it!
"Nysa!" she called out, putting a hand out to stop him from bumping into her, and to keep herself from falling over. She quickly stepped aside, letting him take the foreground.
Now Peklo had only met Nysa once, but she had a very good memory for names and faces. She couldn't, however, remember anything of his personality though. He was as good as a stranger save for a name. "No I-I-I um. Please don't hurt her! She was j-just ... just um ..." Peklo racked her brain for an excuse for the poor negaverser. Though it was relatively odd, Peklo didn't want anyone getting hurt. Even negaversers. She was as docile as a singular feather. "She was just teaching me some new moves! Um ... maybe ..."

Erythrite made a very annoyed growling noise when she felt the Knight aura. Picking on a Page? Someone her own level? Just fine with her. But the idea of fighting someone two levels higher and far more experienced genuinely frightened her, in a way. So she stepped away from the Page, backing up several steps at the same time.
Her eyes quickly shifted to the other girl, and she frowned slightly. Was this girl really trying to protect her? Even after what had just happened? Oh well, lying to get out of here was better than ending up going toe to toe with someone much stronger.
"Just a little interfaction sparring practice, really, nothing to worry about."

It was obvious the two of them were lying. The Page was oddly covering for the Lieutenant. Her tone had been quite hesitant, where as the Lieutenant's was more convincing. What was the Page hiding?
He didn't let his suspicion linger upon his face as he looked to the Lieutenant. The Knight pulled out his weapon from its sheath before he rather politely spoke to the young lady.
"I will let you take your leave, Miss. I will continue from here, if you do not mind."
With his free hand, he gestured in another direction with a slight bow. "Have a good evening."

Little Peklo nodded as Erythrite went along with her lie. Good good! Now they could avoid a big fight. She'd gotten enough spar in her to last her a whole month.
An audible gasp came from the Chronos knight as Nysa brandished his weapon. "O-Oh my." She didn't say anything more than this in terms of commenting on his weapon, for fear that it might insight a fight.
"Y-Yes! Goodbye um ... " Shoot! She hadn't gotten a name. "My friend! Goodbye miss. I h-hope you have a good night and um ... l-let's um ... g-g-get together again." Except getting together with that very scary lady was the LAST thing Peklo wanted to do.

Erythrite had not ever really been on the business end of something dangerous and stabby. So she stared at that rapier, heart rate suddenly picking up and panic sinking into her bones. s**t, this Knight could probably do some actual damage.
The Lieutenant held up her hands and began walking backwards. "Nothing to worry about, darling, I'm on my way out," she said, but she did pause to turn to the cute Page girl and give her a wink and a blown kiss.
"See you again soon, sweetheart," she said, and then she bolted as fast as she could.

Nysa watched with a careful eye as the Lieutenant fled the scene, keeping his weapon extended as long as she was within sight. It was only once she had completely vanished that he was willing to put The Edge of the Tide back in its sheath.
"I am rather curious as to why you two were carrying on that facade like that, Miss. However, that is your own business, so if you would like to keep it as such, you are within your right."
He ran his gloved fingers through his long bangs, brushing them out of the way so he could look to the young lady with two eyes rather than one. "If you two were sincerely sparring, I apologize for being so rude. I would gladly pick up where she left off if that is what you desire."

Peklo flailed her hands in protest. "N-No we really were-" Which was worse, lying to an acquaintance or giving the negaverser away and starting another fight? Peklo wasn't sure, but luckily Nysa seemed to be giving her a free pass on the subject.
"Oh um. N-No th-that's okay ..." She very politely bowed and said, "I think I'm going to go home, I don't feel very g-good." Mostly out of anxiety, but still. "W-Would you train me some other time though?" That would be good! Then she could meet her friend again under .... well friendlier pretenses.
The little knight held out a hand and said, "But um ... w-would you like to walk home with me?" The hand slightly retracted and she said, "Um sorry, I mean if y-you're going in the same w-way. I d-d-don't mean to impose."

She seemed to confirm his suspicions as she declined his offer for a spar. Though, she also seemed to request some assistance in the future. Allowing his hair to drift back to masking one of his eyes, he allow his fingers to trail over the hilt of his weapon.
"We can arrange a date for a future training session if you would like, Miss Page."
The girl awkwardly offered her hand, then seemed to startle and retreated slightly. However, Nysa's gloved hand easily abandoned his weapon to grasp the young lady's hand, and with a relatively quick maneuver, he was beside her, her arm tucked to his elbow in proper escorting position.
"I would be willing to walk you to your neighborhood." To her home seemed too personal, and he was not willing to learn this much about a fellow knight. With a smile, he turned his head towards the Page.
"Do tell which direction we should head."
