Flowergirl
Today was quite clearly her lucky day – she got to leave with her daddy, and all on her own at that ! She loved her brother and sister, of course, loved them both both so very much. But daddy was so busy, was always doing so many things at once. Even when he was there, when they all laid together and cuddled up under massive black and blue wings, she had the feeling his mind was elsewhere. Thinking, Wandering. In a way the young Augury could not quite understand, just yet.
What time her daddy spent being
here was devoted to his mommy and to her, Isidore and Kyrie. Having her daddy all for herself, while her siblings were off with mommy to the market, was
amazing. She was running ahead, laughing, arms outstretched and wings fluttering as if it could make her run even faster.
”Too slow, daddy ! You can't catch meeee~ !” Her laugh broke though the silence of the forest. She had no idea where they really were – it did not matter to her, really. She has daddy all to herself and they were playing tag !
One quick look behind made her realize that her daddy was gaining ground on her. At least this time he was not cheating – Caelia could sooo tell when her daddy cheated, and he had gotten a lengthy lecture about it. Mommy said cheating wasn't nice, so didn't daddy know that already ?
The fact that Ankou kept his pace slower on purpose never really crossed her mind.
Eventually, however, she would be caught – and Caelia only laughed as her daddy lifted her off the ground and spun her in the air. Flying was more fun – something she had only gotten to do once or twice. Mommy said that she'd be able to try once her wings were bigger, but every day they were the same size.
“Oh no, you caught me !” It was hard for Caelia to pretend to be upset, honestly – she had yet to learn the fine art of pretending. While the little goddess
thought herself clever, well...
She would be spun a few more times before being put down again, and she tugged on Ankou's hand. Clearly tag was over, and it was time to go explore.
”This place is pretty, daddy. Is it Uncle Glyph's ?””Yes, it would be. It is a forest.” At least daddy always did his best to answer her questions, and Isidore and Kyrie's too. And it was funny to watch his face change when they asked funny ones.
”Do you have a place, too ? And mommy ?” Did she ? Having a place would be so nice. Caelia did not notice her father's hesitation on the matter – his hand was tugged quite sharply as she saw something.
”Daddy, look !”Her father's relief at having dodged the bullet also went unnoticed. Ankou would allow himself to be lead by his much-smaller daughter, who finally let go of his hand and plopped right in the middle of the clearing.
”Look, daddy ! The flowers are so pretty !”Augury's wonderment would earn herself a chuckle.
”They are, are they not ?””What are they ?” It certainly did not take long for the questions to start again, and Caelia leaned forward to smell one. They were all sort of colors, but all the same general shape. Kind of like her and Isidore. Maybe they were a family of flowers ?
”They do remind me of poinsettia.” Caelia looked back to her father as he spoke.
”Though I do not know for sure. You would need to ask your uncle for that.””Hn.” She regarded the flowers for a moment.
”I saw someone bring someone else flowers when I was at the market with mommy last time. She really liked it.””Oh ?” Ankou did finally settle to sit beside her, since it looked like Hurricane Caelia was staying put for now.
”Well, that is a nice gesture.””Do you think uncle Glyph would mind if I took some ?” Augury brushed her small hand over the petals.
”To give to other people ?” She wanted to make people happy.
”As long as you do not take them all, I would not think he would mind.” This seemed to make Caelia quite happy – the empty basket that had followed them (she soooo wanted to know how to lift stuff with her mind like daddy and Kios did !) was snagged in mid-air.
”I won't. So that someone else can find this place and the flowers can make them happy, too.”[color-gray]”Well, that sounds like a good plan, Caelia.”
Ankou had no idea what madness he had just unleashed.
