Solo 1
Her arrival in Destiny City was without fanfare. She was here on duty, accompanying her General-King. She loved Marthozite, in a weird way. Not romantic, but respect. He had taken a girl who might have found herself dead in a gutter somewhere, seen in her something that no one else had taken the time to. He'd opened her eyes to the darkness and the dirtiness, the corruption in the world. He'd given her a place, given her structure. Not a father figure, but a leader. A beloved teacher. It had been an honor, and she had struggled with herself, with her own addiction, because his pride when she did good was as much of a drug as any baggie of expensive crap she could get on the streets, and his pleasure was less deadly. On the flip side of that, she had a terror of disappointing him- she'd made that mistake once, and barely survived the experience.
She stared out the window and out at Destiny City, admiring the difference between here and Cairo. It didn't seem as dirty here- not as much sand in the air, not as much musk. The smell and the sound were both different, more along the lines of London to her. She'd always liked London. Will spoiled her rotten, and Chael wasn't much better, and the air was clean and not dirty. Not, of course, that she minded getting dirty- rolling in it, playing in it, digging up prizes, and seeing her mother's excited face.
Shahar had checked out the schools here- Sovereign Heights had a decent transfer program for her particular major, and it would be a good way to ease herself into the school system here. Not that she had to worry about her grades. Her true career was already chosen, and had been from the moment that Marthozite had touched her starseed, and shown her the beauty of their cause. Not that it was expected that they would need to be here long. There were supposed to be four General-Kings and Queens, and the Queen herself in this town. How could the senshi stand against such fierce opposition?
She had faith in Marthozite. He above all the rest, because he was the one that she knew, the one who had...
Given her life.
She strode down the street, bending over casually and lifting a duffel bag. It wasn't hers- it belonged to someone else. She hadn't bothered to bring her own. But one thing she'd learned was that if you played it casual, people didn't look as hard. In fact, no one stopped her as she stepped away and merged into the throng of people. So many people. So many starseeds, so much energy. It was all at their disposal, if they only reached out and took it.
Stepping out the doors and into the sunlight, Titanite grabbed a taxi and pulled out her sticky note, glancing at the address that her father had written on it.
