New Adventures and a Nap

LaGuardia Airport, New York
December 16 , 2010 7:31 AM EST

Ainsley McMahon, daughter of wealthy businessman Mr. McMahon and beautiful opportunist Ms. Lippencott, stood alone in the middle of one of the busiest airports in the country with less than a week before Christmas. It was no surprise that Ainsley found herself unable to move from her spot as she was surrounded by adults who passed her nonchalantly in rows while they continued on with their busy lives. She felt helpless as she stood there, clinging to white plush bunny she dubbed Octavian Oswald, to cover her distraught face.

The previous week had been so busy for a nine year old. As Ainsley thought about it, she thought about how her mother had sent her away to live with her father not even two weeks before Christmas, a man who she had never had a chance to even meet previously. She wanted to spend Christmas with her mother like she had the year before and the year before that and that, but the chance to meet her father was just too exciting to pass up and she really didn't have a choice in the matter. It was one of the most exciting things Ainsley ever had the chance to do and she was not disappointed. At least, not until he had told her he thought it would be better for her to go stay with her sister. A sister Ainsley didn't even know she had!

She had so many questions, and so little time to ask them. So many questions had gone unanswered. All these questions continued to bounce around in the small child's head and none of these thoughts really made her expressions any better because in the end she was still lost in a huge airport without her mother or father or even her sister! Of course, at the moment the only one of those three who could possibly be there was her father, even if it was more likely her sister would suddenly show up in a city she didn't live in and appear in front of Ainsley to take her home.

"Where did papa go?" She wailed, rubbing her teary face into Octavian Oswald.

A voice from behind the waves of adults called out Ainsley's name. She could not tell if the voice was a man or a woman from all the other sounds all around her and so Ainsley looked up and all around with a small hint of excitement.

"Papa?" She called back, streaks of tears sliding down her porcelain face.

But it was not papa who pushed their way through the rows of adults, but an older woman. Bearing a kind expression on her face, she lowered her position to that of Ainsley's and with a smile she said, "I'm sorry dear, but Mr. McMahon has a meeting to attend and cannot see you off," as she held out what appeared to be a travel bag in her hands. She thought this would cheer the child up, but it didn't, and Ainsley's face looked like she was about to start crying again, the woman did what women do: lied through her teeth.

"He packed it just for you, I believe there is a letter inside for you as well."

The only truth to the statement was that there was in fact a letter inside of the pocket of the travel bag, but the truth didn't always make the world go around and Ainsley believed her. Her face immediately lit up.

"Really?" Ainsley asked. "Really really?"

The woman nodded very slowly. "Really."

Wiping off the tears with the corner of her hand, Ainsley took the travel bag from the woman and strapped it over one arm and then the other arm until it was snugly fit against her back. She looked at the older woman and smiled softly as she said, "Thank you!"

Pleased with herself, the older woman stood up from her lower position, arching her back forward with her hands until a small crack could be heard. The sound made Ainsley go to cover her ears, but before she could the older woman began directing Ainsley to the loading area, making sure she was following beside her until they stopped at the small booth. This was where the older woman pushed Ainsley gently towards a flight attendant.

She went with the flight attendant, but Ainsley couldn't help but look over her shoulder hoping to see her father one more time. She didn't thought, and the flight attendant was being very pushy as she tried to get the child onto the plane. Before the flight attendant could get her onto the plane, Ainsley waved goodbye once last time to the nice older woman and disappeared onto the plane with the flight attendant.

Once she was inside, she was assisted with her bag being tucked safely away into the storage compartment and then buckled into her seat. She was thinking about just how Santa would find her now and it didn't take long before Ainsley fell into a deep sleep with Octavian Oswald tightly against her chest, dreaming of what was to come. She didn't wake up even once throughout the entire flight, even when a flight attendant offered her strawberry pudding.

Destiny City Airport
December 16th, 2010 9:52 AM

The plane landed, and Ainsley finally woke up with a soft yawn. The first thing she did was straighten out Octavian Oswald's bow tie which was off to one side and not very gentleman like. In a new city, it would be very important for him to look his best and make new friends! After a flight attendant came around and unbuckled her seat beat, Ainsley stood up and grabbed her bag from the seat that the flight attendant had put it onto.

The airport wasn't as crowded as the one in New York, and for that she was glad. She was able to see more than a hand in front of her, and quickly found herself a bench to sit on. She hadn't once looked in the bag since she had been given it, but now that she was in a new city... she had no idea where to go! She didn't know where her sister lived, or even what she looked like.

She opened the bag almost like it was a Christmas gift, looking to find that one thing she had been dreaming of. Instead of dreams, inside she found a letter in the side pocket. She shouldn't have been surprised, that woman had told her it was there. A letter from her father? She looked carefully at both side of the envelope. The front had the loving word Daughter" written on it. Carefully, Ainsley opened the envelope.

She pulled out a piece of paper and when she unfolded it, a small slip of paper fell out and onto her lap. It didn't seem to say much on it, just her name, and a bunch of numbers. Not sure what it was, she slipped it back into the envelope and look a look at the letter. She wasn't sure what kind of letter it was, it unfolded into a large piece of paper and had lots of lines and directions on it, as well as a big red circle. It wasn't a letter at all, it was a map!

"Octavian," she said. "Can you read this?"

Ainsley giggled softly.

"You can? That's wonderful. Let's go!"

Making sure she had everything, Ainsley looked for the exit and after about ten minutes she finally found... someone who could tell her where it was. They tried to explain to her where it was, but she didn't know, and finally after another ten minutes they just showed her where it was located.

Happily, she waved goodbye to the kind person and looked at the map for a long, long moment before she looked up to the sky. It was a beautiful day, even if it was a little bit nippy out. She was glad she had a scarf on, and every once and awhile she would put Octavian Oswald between her and her scarf as well so he wouldn't get cold either.

It was a funny sight indeed, a small child walking down the sidewalk with a scarf on... and two bunny ears sticking out of the top and legs from the bottom. It would have been okay if that was all, but every so often Ainsley would stop and ask directions or ask an adult to hold her hand so she could cross the street and people would have to try their hardest not to laugh at the child as the bunny ears flopped back and forth in her face as she spoke to them. Needless to say, it took her a very long time to get to her destination.

She had finally made it to her destination, or at least she thought she did. She was standing outside of a old looking house with a small little porch and a roof over it. It was a cute house, and Ainsley found herself giggling. And then giggling more because Octavian Oswald was still in her scarf and tickling her. Promptly, she tried to remove him from her scarf and putting him back in her arms.

She walked up the few stairs to knock on the door, but then she stopped and walked back down to the sidewalk. First she adjusted Octavian Oswald's bow tie again, and then she adjusted her scarf around her neck, pulling her hair out from under it and brushing her fingers through it. She tucked the plush bunny back under her arm and then she slowly moved back up the stairs. Deep breath.

Ainsley knocked on the door.

Oh, What a Pretty Snow Globe!

The snow had just come out of now where, but the weather often seemed to do just that. It wasn't always explained, but in many cases such as this is was really quite pretty to look at. By now it had been snowing for quite a bit though and there was a good pile up forming in the not so busy streets of Destiny City. It seemed like it was never ending and many people figured it was just one of those days where you snuggle up by the fire and read a book while the window covers with snow. Not everyone had decided to go home and settle down. Ainsley was out there and she was exploring with her trusty prince Octavian Oswald.

There were a lot of shops on the side of the sidewalk that the small child was on and as Ainsley passed by she'd look through each of the windows, looking at what the store sold. Uninterested she passed by a chocolate shop as well as a candy store. Although she did enjoy those things, it was not what the child was looking for. It only grabbed her attention momentarily and then passed. Just down the sidewalk, there were a few high line fashion stores with beautiful dresses that Ainsley paused and looked with a bit of an interest before finally continuing on through the softly falling slow.

After Ainsley passed the high line fashion stores she stood still on the sidewalk while adults passed by her with a very rather strange looks. She found herself staring up at the sky for a bit, not for a moment, but for a good five minutes before she finally felt a breeze and came back to reality. She was dreaming of the most interesting thing, but the thought had disappeared from her mind when her grasp on reality came back to her. She was a bit in a daze as she looked down at her bunny companion. He wasn't making any noise, and he too seemed to be staring up at the sky. Shaking the bunny plushie a few times she sighed a relief when Octavian Oswald made a bit of a noise to Ainsley's ears only.

"You got lost," she said to him with a bit of worry as she hugged the bunny back to her chest.

After a bit of squeezing, the child continued on with her journey down the sidewalk of outlets. She passed quite a few stores until finally something in the window of a store grabbed her attention. She stopped quick and turned to look at the window. Soon she found herself pressing her nose up again the glass window and staring inside at the snow globes on display. The small child found herself daydreaming at them, how pretty they were. She could not take her gaze away from them for even a second, the thought of leaving and continuing to find other stores completely gone. It took her a bit but finally she was able to pry her nose off the glass and look up to see the store name: Imperium Greetings.

She took a moment more staring at the window set up and then scurried her way over to the door. She pushed against the it trying to get inside. It was a frivolous battle with the door until one of the employees inside came over and pushed the door open for the small child, causing her to realize what she was doing and blush with embarrassment. "You have to pull," a young woman said with a smile to the child who embarrassingly had tried to push open a pull door.

"Oh." Ainsley said to the employee, burying her face into Octavian's head for a moment before she eagerly stepped into the store.

After she had stepped into the store, the employee gently closed the door behind her. She smiled at Ainsley and politely asked her if she could be of any assistance to her. Ainsley declined the employee of her services and the employee nodded to her and told her if she needed any help she would be just over at the counter before she left her.

"Now where are the snow globes?" Ainsley asked to Octavian before she held the white plush bunny up so that he could get a better look around the store. "You see them?" She asked him, turning him around the store. After a few moments, Ainsley brought Octavian Oswald back down and snugged tightly into her arms then happily wandered over to where the window display was.

She was staring at the snow globes again in a very dazed sort of state. They were just so pretty and alluring. Small 'ooh' noises could be hear slipping from the small child's lips and it wasn't long before one of the store employees came over and took one of the snow globes off of the self and lingered over the small child who was too distracted to even notice the employee lingering behind her.

"Excuse me," the employee said as she waited for Ainsley to acknowledge that she was there. It took a few moments but Ainsley finally turned around with a small "Hi."

"This is for you," she said as she held out the box with the snow globe in it. "You're our next winner."

Ainsley's eyes lit up as they searched the employee for reaffirmation and when the employee reaffirmed, Ainsley nearly squealed with excitement. She held out her hands with her plush bunny and happily accepted the box before reeling her arms back and holding it tightly next to Octavian Oswald.

"Thank you!" She said with a large smile.

The store employees smiled and nodded and soon after Ainsley waved and went to leave the store. She tried to pull the door open, forgetting was now on the other side. A small giggle from behind her and one of the store employees came back over and pushed the door open for the confused child. She thought she opened the door, and happily left the store. It was still snowing but Ainsley didn't even notice as she stared down at the box in her arms. She felt like she could see the snow globe even though it was in a box! She was going to head straight home and put her snow globe in a nice spot where she could see it!

Wake Up! I'll be there soon...

It was the evening by the time Ainsley had got home from her exploration of the shopping outlet and she was very excited to be back. Why was she so excited? She had brought home one of those snow globes from Imperium Greetings! Everyone had one, and with good reason! They were absolutely gorgeous orbs with a figure trapped inside of it that practically stole your very breath that played a mysterious melody that seemed to have a magical characteristic to it.

She carefully took it upstairs with her, and carried it up to her bed. After her and the box that snow globe came in were safety at the top of the bed, which was off the ground and required a latter to get up onto, she slowly and carefully took the snow globe out of the box. She had a rather serious expression on her face as she set it down on her pillow between her white plush bunny Octavian Oswald and her decorative bunny shaped pillow she had dubbed Night Knight.

Although her pillow was a bunny in shape, as a pillow it was placed as a knight and not a prince by Ainsley's standards. Instead of a princely name following the double initial pattern, it was dubbed after the night because of its night related properties and given the surname knight as a status. It is the bunny that guards her night and keeps her safe while she dreams her dreams.

Gently reassuring herself that her snow globe was safe and not going to fall over the small child flopped over beside it and looked up to make sure the snow globe was fine. Perfect! It sat still, and didn't wobble even when she laid beside it. Between the snow globe and her bunnies, she found herself staring at the snow globe. The alluring beauty of it and the wonderfully chilling lullaby that the snow globe distracting her from the rest of the world. She found herself having a conversation with the snow globe, listening intently as if she expected to hear a reply from the orb. Although no reply came, the child seemed to be determined to talk to it as the music played on and on. She told stories of how a prince would rescue her one day and save her from all the dangers she may face. The snow globe never replied, but there was something calming about the song it played and the beautiful figure that seemed almost trapped inside of it.

She spoke and spoke some more with the snow globe until hours had past, until it was late into the evening. It was way past the child's bed time and slowly but surely her words started to become mumbled between the notes of the melody and as each past she begun to drift into a deep sleep.

She didn't know if it was her new protector Night Knight or the soothing melody that the snow globe produced but she didn't wake up once throughout the night. She slept soundly, dreaming her dreams. Her dreams were different though this night. Although she still was a princess in a tall tower, dazing out of the single window in the tower, there was a magical feel to it. A soothing voice in the distance that was not of her prince. The small princess didn't think much otherwise as the dream continued, waiting her days out with dreams of her prince saving her.

He prince never came to save her though, and Ainsley continued to wait in that tower of her dreams. She was alone with only a single music box beside her that seemed to play that very melody from the snow globe that she had on her pillow in reality. It was eerie and relaxing and eventually a voice could be heard in the distance of her dream... or at least she thought it was her dream. With the sound of the voice saying "I'll be there soon..." from her tower, Ainsley could see the figure of a woman coming nearer and nearer but never got close enough. She seemed to stay far away, as if she was trapped and could not get to the tower but she continued to say, "I'll be there soon..." over and over until the child woke up from her dreams.

Ainsley didn't know what to think, but she immediately expected to see someone there. No one was there though and as the child slowly tried to adjusted to being awake once again. She thought she could hear it. She thought she could hear the sound of the melody from the snow globe that had stopped playing hours ago. The sound of the melody that infested her dream world. The sound of the beautiful woman saying, "I'll be there soon..."

Snow Globes are Friends so Listen to Them

It was now Christmas Eve and it was quite a few days since Ainsley had gotten her snow globe from the store outlet and took it home to play with an enjoy. Ainsley had taken her snow globe everywhere around the house with her. She took it to bed with her and fell asleep to the melody it produced every night. It was one of the closet things she had to friends since she moved here aside for Octavian Oswald and Constantine Cyprian and the various Snow Dancers she had befriended. She wished she could include Night Knight on her list, but the bunny pillow was such a stoic fellow and never said anything to her! He guarded her safely each night though, and for that she adored him. Plus he was shaped like a bunny!

The small child didn't notice anything strange about the snow globe. She could have sworn it had said it would be there soon, but she couldn't be positive having only heard it that one time after she had woken up after an especially long and deep sleep. Even if the snow globe had spoken to her, Ainsley would still love the majestic and hypnotizing piece of glass work and parts. After all, she thought it was pretty normal for things to talk to her. It was new for a snow globe to, but she was perfectly calm and accepting about the whole matter.

It was a new day though and the small child was sitting on her bedroom floor with the snow globe placed gently on the floor. Beside her was Octavian Oswald who was discussing something about bunny politics that Ainsley just didn't seem to be listening to. She was staring at the snow globe, very intently. It was playing that wonderful musical tune each time she twisted the key around and set it back on the floor. She couldn't help but hum the tune to herself. It made her think of her prince, who would surely someday show up and rescue her and always save her when she was in trouble. A prince who would love her and only her forever and always.

The more times the child played the song though the more she thought she was hearing that voice again. The more she heard the voice the more she thought she thought there might be a person trapped inside of the snow globe. She found herself putting her hands on either side of the orb and staring closely into the glass.

"Hello?" She asked. "Do you need assistance?"

She had this rather worried expression on her face as she looked so closely her nose bumped into the glass and she pushed back a little. This had been the second time she could have sworn she heard the snow globe ask for help. The last time she could barely make anything out except for a countdown of three days which then proceeded into being a countdown for two days the next day when Ainsley repeated nearly the same activity as she had done the day before and today. Each time she did she heard that voice again and found herself grabbing onto Octavian Oswald, burying her nose into the fur so that just her eyes were visible over it: watching the snow globe. Today was no different.

"Dooo yoo neeed halp?" She mumbled through the fur as deja vu hit the child.

It was different today though. It was not like before. There was no countdown and she could hear what the voice was saying. The voice was telling her to go somewhere. To take the snow globe somewhere. Ainsley was not sure why there was a voice telling her to go to the town square and she did not normally like taking her snow globe outside into the cold where the glass may crack and break but she could not deny someone asking for her help. She definitely couldn't turn down the snow globe's own request to be taken somewhere.

She came to her decision. She would go to the town square and satisfy the snow globe's one request from her. She could not turn down the request of her precious snow globe friend after all. With her decision in tact, the small child tucked Octavian Oswald under her arm casually and then picked the snow globe up. She put on her shoes, and her coat but forgot to put on her gloves as well as her scarf as she opened the door and walked out in a very dazed -- almost hypnotized state as she listened to the melody play in her head.

She was not entirely sure where the town square was, but when she got outside she noticed something strange. She noticed other people with snow globes and they were all heading in the same direction. She followed the pack and headed to the town square with Octavian Oswald hanging over one arm and her snow globe carefully in her hands.

Us Against the World

The month of December had flown away like the snowflake in the wind, passing in the blink of an eye despite the fact the days were beginning to get longer as the days moved into a new year and a new month to begin it. January had brought around new experiences for Ainsley after recently being thrown into the public school system which differed quite a bit from being homeschooled on the west coast. Regardless, the child tried to accept her fate with a smile. She had a new sister, a beautiful new cat and her birthday was in a month! There were plenty of good things to make up for any bad things that would come her way, or so she thought.

School had let out but it wasn't until after a few hours passed since the bell rang that Ainsley began to head home for dinner. The fact the days were getting longer didn't stop the sky from still darkening so early. The child's blue eyes found their way to the sky, a small frown coming to her face as she studied the light disappearing from the sky before her. She still didn't know her new sister very well, and she didn't want to be late for dinner! The walk home was tiresome, but if she cut through the park she could save time. She didn't think about the option very long and soon the child's teal shoes moved off the sidewalk and in between the trees, walking over the small mounds of snow that laid on the ground. She'd get home very quickly at this rate!

The child could hear her own footsteps as they crushed into the snow below her feet, tilting her head curiously at the sound. It was surprisingly quiet in the park today, although that might have to do with the fact the child was trying to cut right through the trees instead of the path over yonder. It would be much quicker to just cut through instead of following the path that was already lain in the middle of the park. This way she could cut straight across and make it home.

She must have been about half way there when the child stopped as she seen something strange ahead of her. She had to shake her head several times, and even blink, as she tried to bring herself back to reality. She could have sworn she had just seen Cora standing... right there. It didn't matter how many times the child shook her head, the cat remained in the distance and she had to force herself realize that Cora was definitely out here. The realization brought a question quickly behind it and that question was: why? Perhaps Ainsley had left the door open when she left for school? Or maybe Bell went somewhere and Cora got out?

She had been wondering for awhile when suddenly it didn't seem to matter anymore because there was suddenly something quite massive leering towards the two of them. What was it? The child tried to get a better look at it before finally deciding it was in fact a really, really big rat. It was rather gruesome looking, and even seemed to be drooling some weird substance out of its mouth as it continued to leer between the two, unmoving. The more she looked at it, the more she found herself startled by such a large rat, attempting to take a step back away from it when her foot hit the root of a tree and caused her to make a squeal.

"Aaaaaah!" She quickly covered her mouth with her hands as she leaned forward towards it again, her curiosity getting the better of her as she tried to get a better look. That was such a big rat! She didn't know if she should be afraid, or impressed. Luckily, her shock hadn't seemed to attract the giant rat youma, who seemed a little dumber than the usual youma. Instead she had caught the attention of Cora, whose bright pink eyes flew towards the child, slowly widening brightly as she stood there. She didn't quite understand the situation but she recognize her dear little owner. The owner who fed her salmon and Brussels Sprouts when her bigger owner wasn't looking! Excited, and happy to see the child, it bound towards her, her movements finally gathering the attention of the youma.

The youma growled deeply, its whip-like tail flicking against the snow on the ground. It was totally the opposite of reality when the giant rat began to chase after the cat as she ran towards Ainsley, her dear, precious little owner. She was so happy to see her that she didn't see the giant rat as it chased her and then caught her, causing the cat to let out a surprised cry that caused the child to hurry towards her.

The child didn't get to the cat though, not before there was suddenly a light burning bright under the rat. It was so bright, so pure, and when it flickered away like the flame of a candle at the end of a night, everything seemed to be clear to the Turkish Van cat who was now quite literally freaking out. There was suddenly so much information from the world seeping into her mind as the flood gates had opened, so much more than just the house she had lived in, and her little owner. There was a giant rat, an it smelled terrible too. Vast world knowledge seemed to be put on pause when Cora noticed her little owner coming right towards danger to save her! Cora struggled and squeezed her smaller body away from the youma before the scary thing ate her, leaping into Ainsley's arms as she got close.

"We have to run! We're going to die!" The cat meowed, however, it didn't quite come out as a meow and both Cora and Ainsley seemed quite surprised at this fact. They both seemed to be on the same wavelength when at the same time they both seemed to spit out the words, "Since when?!" followed by silence. They seemed to have forgotten the presence of the giant rat youma, and although it hadn't seemed to notice Cora had escaped, their talking had alerted it quite sufficiently and caused the youma to begin to slowly move towards them.

The child decided being impressed was not the way to go when there was a giant rat leering towards you and soon she found herself trying to back away, her arms squeezing protectively around Cora. The child could barely think of how or why there was a giant rat in the park, or why it seemed so determined to eat Cora. Cora on the other hand seemed to be having trouble thinking. There was a strange feeling buzzing in the cat's head as she was being squeezed by the child. Perhaps Ainsley was seriously squeezing the air out of her cat that Cora was going to pop? That didn't seem to be the case because when Ainsley was suddenly pushed by the oncoming youma and Cora fell to the ground, it continued. There was something ringing in her head, and as her bright pink eyes stared at Ainsley, it slowly began to piece together.

Sailor Hypnos! Sailor Chibi Hypnos, to be more correct at her age. Her owner was a senshi. Senshi, the idea seemed to entice the cat particularly. It felt like it was something she should know, but the leering rat was nearly on top of her and Ainsley now, although it paused as it seemed to be deciding who to eat first.

Ainsley was initially frightened of the rather large rat. She'd never seen such a big rat before, not even in the docks on the west coast, but she couldn't let it pick on Cora! She'd been unable to protect her friend before, and she was determined to not let that happen again. She needed to be brave like a knight, like Octavian Oswald! He'd always protect her, he was fearless! To the child, there was something magical about him and as her arms hugged against him softly she thought she heard a voice call to her.

"You can do it little princess," she'd heard him call to her.

The voice she'd heard in her head was enough to bless her with some courage, and soon she was trying to crawl close to her little kitty whom she dropped. Cora on the other hand was also trying to crawl to Ainsley but she knew better. She knew the rat wasn't just some big rat and now that the initial energy from her awakening was over, her little legs seemed to be frozen under the fear of the youma.

It was up to Ainsley to get to Cora, but Cora had to protect her owner. Her measly legs wouldn't move, but her mouth was more than capable of using its brand new ability of speaking the English language.

"Ainsley," she called, trying to sound brave. "Ainsley, it's not a rat." Ainsley, Ainsley she kept calling but inside her head it was screaming Hypnos, Hypnos. Did the child really not know who she was? Was Cora just crazy? What did she do? Her mind begged to know but when she found the answer she found herself unable to do anything about it, her fear of being eaten by the youma blocking her ability. Ainsley had seemed afraid just a moment ago but now she was coming closer? What had changed? The cat tried to recall and soon not just an image of Ainsley hugging Octavian Oswald now, but many images from previous moments did as well. It was the rabbit! Perhaps if... perhaps if she could hug him she'd be able to do it?

"Ainsley," she whispered, eyes pink eyes looking at the youma who seemed to be lending closer to Ainsley than it had earlier. "Ainsley let me borrow Octavian Oswald for a moment!" She hoped she'd said his name right, unsure of her new found speaking ability.

Ainsley looked to Cora for a moment and then smiled before pushing the bunny plush close enough to the cat. She watched carefully, interested in what her cat was planning to do with him. She'd never seen the cat really get that close to any of her stuffed animals before so the child was rather curious. Would she dance with him like Gwenliana had? It wasn't the case and Ainsley couldn't help but let out a small awe when Cora began to try to hug the stuffed animal with all her might.

Give me your strength! She prayed to the white stuffed bunny before she finally found herself able to stand up on her legs. She could do it! She had to do it before the youma finally decided one of them looked tasty enough to eat. She believed she could do it, and feeling the strength she had borrowed, she summoned a transformation pen, grabbing it in her mouth and carefully sneaking it to Ainsley as the giant rat youma turned its back to the two smaller creatures for some reason. It seemed to be a bird up in tree.

"Say 'Hypnos Power, Make Up!'" Cora insisted, hoping she recalled it correctly.

Ainsley held the pen in her hand curiously, studying it beliefly as she looked between it and Cora.

"Hypnos Power, Make Up!" but before she could continue and say 'What does that mean?' the child found herself enveloped by a bright light rather similiar to the light that had surrounded Cora earlier. The light had been enough to garner the youma's attention again and it slowly began to turn around. This time when the light disappeared, Ainsley was gone and in her place was Sailor Chibi Hypnos. It was a small senshi, dressed in blues and white, with stars and moons covering her fuku and bunny slippers covering her feet. The first thing she noticed was the feeling of snow in her shoes, or more correctly, slippers. Her eyes fell down and she gasped, hands flailing towards the snow in search for her shoes. Where had her shoes gone? Her blue eyes panicked slightly as she realized she was suddenly wearing completely different clothing. What on Earth had happened!

"What happ—" she tried to ask when suddenly Cora leapt towards her, causing the child to slide backwards and evidently out of harm's way as the rat's clawed paw was now where Sailor Chibi Hypnos was sitting. Sailor Chibi Hypnos stared and Cora was wide eyed as she let out a small sigh. "Eek! That was scary!"

The youma was not really any more intent this time but he did seem to follow their movements, its eyes back on the two as it stepped closer. It growled, and the tiny senshi's arms wrapped around Cora's body protectively as Cora seemed to hiss habitually at the rat as it made an attempt to defend its master. Neither knew exactly what to do now. Cora had already capped the tipping point on what she was able to do as a newly awakened cat and the small senshi knew nothing. She had to protect Cora. She couldn't let the giant rat have her. What could she do? Her fists were bundled and in them small particles were beginning to form as the dust began to materialize.

Hypnos... Hypnos... Sleep... Sleep... Dust...

Keywords had filled her thoughts and powered her on until dust seemed to be seeping out of her hands. The child hadn't noticed though, and instead she grabbed a hand full of snow that quickly mixed with the dust, and threw it at the beast. It was hard to miss such a big target when it was so close and your projectile had an area of effect, and thankfully she had managed to hit it right between the eyes. It stepped back, hesitantly looking at the two. They weren't as defenseless as beast had originally thought. Did it even think? Probably not. It seemed a little slower than it had a few moments ago though, thanks to the dust that had been covering the snowball the child threw. It seemed a little confused, and was that a yawn? It seemed to be backing away, and after stepping away a few steps it turned around and ran in the other direction until the two could no longer see it.

The heavy air seemed to finally lift off the two bodies and without delay there were two long sighs as Sailor Chibi Hypnos fell back against the snow with Cora still in her arms.

"It's goneeeeeee," the child celebrated verbally.

"We're alive," Cora whimpered.

Sailor Chibi Hypnos didn't see why their being alive would be such a shock, but she hugged Cora anyways and stayed like that for several minutes. In the time that passed by, both the guardian cat and the chibi senshi seemed to have a million questions hovering in their heads, all of which didn't seem to have answers to or ended up with another question.

"What's all this?" The child had been the one to break the silence first as she stared up at the tree tops.

There was a pause, and then Cora tried her best to explain everything she knew as the two laid out in the snow. The child tried to understand the best she could, even if it was only bits and pieces. She was able to understand that this pen was hers, and that she was able to power up into Sailor Chibi Hypnos, the Senshi of Sleep. They were the defenders of justice and protected the world! Quite literally the world, even if the child only would assume Earth for the time being. What would she tell Bell? What about her mother and father? Would they suddenly come to see her if they knew she had some great destiny?

"You can't tell anyone," Cora seemed to add in at the last moment.

The child pouted at first but slowly she nodded.

The two spent a couple more minutes in the snow before the child finally learned how to power down back to Ainsley. She didn't waste time, hurrying to pick Octavian Oswald out of the snow and set him carefully in her arms as she took one last glance at the footprints the rat had left in the snow before returning back to Cora. The rat didn't come back but Cora was still cautious as the two left the park and went home. It would be too soon if Cora seen another monster again. They would have a lot more to talk about later, but right now it was time for dinner. Ainsley would have to get Cora a special treat. It would be so much fun now that Cora could talk to her. It would be their little secret. It would all be their little secret. It was them against the world now.
