xxxxx...

xxxxxGwenliana continued to dash through the crowd. She tiptoed, running as fast as her ballet slippers would take her. She tried to dodge all of the people in the crowd, praying that in the hysteria of the crystal's appearance, they wouldn't notice a lone snow dancer, prancing away from the scene of the crowd, running away from her princess. As she reached the edge of the town center's pavillion, she gazed out one last time. She watched as the remnants of her princess felt softly, and couldn't help but think her princess was happier this way. Like she was meant to be. Truthfully, Gwenliana could never think of her princess as evil. She was simply swayed by something. Something evil. Something dangerous.

xxxxxAs Gwenliana ran, she noticed that her patches of ice were growing smaller. She saw that the flakes that fell of her dress felt a bit slower now, a bit sadder now. The flurries that once boomed from her hands were now only trickling, taking more than their sweet time. Worriedly, Gwenliana paused for a moment to glance at her body. Luckily, nothing had changed, but Gwenliana feared for the worst.

xxxxxFinally, Gwenliana spotted her "target." She saw Ainsley's tiny braid round the corner with the rest of her flowing, beige hair. Gwenliana cried out, "Ainsley! Ainsley, dear! Please wait! It's me!" As she shouted, Gwenliana stumbled.

xxxxxThe beautiful ballerina, with perfect poise and a princess-like attitude stumbled. Something was definitely wrong.

Ainsley had been moving as fast as she could with her slowly unfreezing legs. She had to get home! If Santa knew where she lived, he still wouldn't come if she was not asleep in bed. Frankly, the thought worried her because had been a good girl all year long and if Santa didn't come back she just wasn't asleep in bed... oh Ainsley did not want to think about it anymore. She just tried to focus on her directions as she turned around a corner. She paused though as she wondered if this had been the right corner.

As she thought about where she was going the small child thought she heard a voice calling her name. At first she thought it might have been Octavian Oswald, but when she heard the words wait... well, he was in her arms. Why would she have to wait? Either way, the small child found herself stopping completely. She looked at her plush bunny, and then when he didn't say anything else, she listened for the source of the voice: behind her and around the corner. Curiously, she finally peeked around and her eyes lit up brightly when she seen her snow dance friend Gwenliana!

"You're okay!" She said excitedly, completely turned around the corner so she could meet her.

xxxxxGwenliana bolted down the street, regardless of her stumbles. As she approached the corner, she watched the neighborhood slowly return to peace. It seemed as though the raging blizzard her princess had caused was now but an ancient memory. As the dainty snowflakes fell to the ground once again, Gwenliana wondered how they had ever become so dangerous to hurt someone. With the thoughts of the battle still rushing through her head, Gwenliana nearly bowled Ainsley over as she reached the corner. This time she tripped and fell straight to the ground. It was getting worse.

xxxxxGetting up and brushing herself off, Gwenliana replied, "Yes! Are you okay dear? Are you hurt anywhere? I would hate to see that, terribly so!" She glanced all around the small child, looking for cuts, scrapes, bruises, anything she could fix. As she peered around, she noticed the prince hanging out of Ainsley's arms, and Gwenliana jumped a bit. "Oh my!" she exclaimed, "I didn't even see the prince there! Dear Octavian, are you well?" Gwenliana's face consisted of a torn, apologetic emotion, and of course, her single frozen tear that she had shed over the battle in the town center.

xxxxxGwenliana tiptoed around Ainsley, further examining her, when she realized Ainsley must have been very tired, as her legs seemed as though they were about to give up on her. Worried, Gwenliana began to nervously jump from foot to foot, anxiously awaiting the little princess' response.

Ainsley looked over the snow dancer, examining her to make sure that there weren't any injuries on Gwenliana that she was unaware of. She smiled when she did not find anything wrong with her friend. She tightened her jacket and then Senri's jacket as she tried to keep warm, still not quite back to normal after nearly freezing to death. "Oh, I'm so glad you're okay..." she said, rubbing her eyes a little. "I was so worried you'd get hurt."

After a moment of the small child looking up hopelessly at the snow dancer, she nodded to her. She was okay. She might be a little cold earlier and had nearly gotten hurt multiple times thanks to a strange appearance of icicles at the Town Square, but almost was not hurt. On that topic, Octavian Oswald was not hurt either! She made sure to rise the white plush bunny prince up to her chest to that Gwenliana could see for herself. "He's fine," she said. "He was very brave too!"

After a moment she added, "He says he's happy to see you're okay."

xxxxxGwenliana laughed, a little tinkling bell sound, as the child implied that she might get hurt. "You are much too kind for your age," she said, "If I were to get hurt, I have ... healing patches? All around me!" Gwenliana was referring to bandaids, but she really did not know what to call them. She twirled to demonstrate her snow flurry abilities, but by this time only one or two snowflakes twirled off her dress and hands. Gwenliana frowned a bit at this, but covered it up quickly for Ainsley.

xxxxxAs the prince popped up from Ainsley's arms, Gwenliana smiled gently and said, "Well good, princes must be valiant at all times," and with a slightly scolding pout, she jokingly added, "You did protect Princess Ainsley, did you not?" She pointed a finger jokingly accusing the rabbit, and then tapped him lightly on the nose, lovingly. With a tilt of her head, she nodded to acknowledge his apparent happiness.

xxxxxIt was only then that Gwenliana noticed how the little girl was shivering, just as she did on the battlefield. Subconsciously, Gwenliana touched the frozen tear on her face, remembering the horrible scene of Ainsley waving, freezing in the snow, with just a light jacket that she wore now. Gwenliana hurriedly said, "Ainsley dear, we must get you home." It appeared as though Gwenliana needed help herself, as she wasn't quite sure what was wrong with her, but she made it her mission to get the dear little girl home. It was the least she could do to pay for her fake princess' wrongdoings. With a determined nod, she started walking in the direction Ainsley was heading.
PostPosted: Tue Dec 28, 2010 10:50 pm

Ainsley's cheeks were red but it was hard to tell if she was blushing from the snow dancer's kind words or if they were just so red from being out in such frigid temperatures for so long without much to cover her face. Regardless, Ainsley's expression said it all. Her face loosened from its worried position. She was nodding and she definitely seemed to be relieved when she heard her friend could heal herself with healing patches.

Ainsley used one of her hands to move to the back of Octavian Oswald's head and make him nod his little head, his floppy bunny ears flapping around as his head moved forward and then back. He was valiant and he definitely protected princess Ainsley. She smiled as she announced it so, "He protected me..."

She nodded to the snow dancer as Gwenliana had suggested they go home as she started to pull her bunny plush back against her body to help keep herself warm. She took a moment to adjust her coat and the one Senri had thrown onto her before she disappeared. She still couldn't figure out where the young man had disappeared to and soon she began to think about just how cold she was. Even with her coat and his, she was still quite cold. She tried not to show it, but so much cold air had gotten through from earlier and gone straight to her bones.

She looked at Gwenliana who was starting to walk in the direction she had originally been heading and with small steps at a time, followed her. "What about you?" She asked as they walked, casually looking around the area. She was pretty sure she lived this way. She had been in such a daze when had gone out and followed the group of people to the town square. She could definitely find her way though. It was definitely this way.

Maybe.

xxxxxGwenliana nodded and smiled at the rabbit stuffed animal. "Well I'm so very glad the prince was so brave," she responded. Though without permission, she gently kissed the prince's nose- a medal of honor for his courage. Oddly though, no ice patches formed on his nose, and no snowflakes twinkled softly from her mouth- or anywhere on her body for that matter. She tugged on his little ears affectionately and then returned back to her original position.

xxxxxGwenliana offered a hand to Ainsley, but then realized it would be much too cold for her little body to handle. She began heading in the direction that Ainsley had pointed (though rather reluctantly it seemed ....) when she noticed her hand was glimmering a bit. She stared at it for a bit, then quickly shook it and hid it from Ainsley; praying that the small girl had not seen the "wound," Gwenliana turned back to Ainsley. Surprised by the girl's next question, Gwenliana answered, "What ever do you mean 'What about you'?" Now Gwenliana's finger was tingling. What ever was the matter?

xxxxxBut suddenly, Gwenliana's finger began to dissolve. Rather than melt or crack like her princess, it simply began to slowly turn into snowflakes, which fell to the ground. It was painless, really, and made no noise or fizzling. There was no dramatic cracking display like her Princess' destruction. Gwenliana gasped, but quickly hid her finger from Ainsley. She would get the child home and then worry about this new installment.

The small child was curious and that had prompted her earlier question about the snow dancer. What about her? Ainsley was wondering where the snow dancer was going to go and what she was going to do. The snow dancer only seemed focused on helping Ainsley get home. She must have somewhere to go, something else to do besides helping Ainsley get home.

"Yes, where will you go after I arrive safely at my destination? Shouldn't you be heading home too? It's so late! Won't someone be wondering where you are?" She said softly back, keeping pace and trying to keep warm before she found herself stopping. She had to cross the street here, but she couldn't cross a street alone. She made a rather worried expression as she looked around before finally holding her hand up to Gwenliana as she murmured, "I-I can't cross the street alone!"

xxxxxGwenliana paused hesistantly as Ainsley asked her the simple question. Truthfully, she had not even thought that far in advance, she simply had the desire to get the small senshi home after witnessing all the hardships Ainsley had endured. Even so, it didn't really matter- now that her princess was gone, she had no one to return to. No place to go. Nowhere to dance. Gwenliana gazed at the ground a bit sadly, and then said, "I will be okay Ainsley. Let's just focus on getting you home, shall we?" It was rather discreet, but Gwenliana didn't want to worry the little girl.

xxxxxHowever, she smiled softly at the girl's overreaction to crossing the street alone. "Well you won't be crossing it alone, now will you?" she jeered. Then, accidentally, she offered her hand to Ainsley, revealing her little "secret." By now, almost half of her hand had dissolved, and a flurry of snow flakes was trailing onto the ground. Gulping, she pulled her hands up to her chest, and then said, "Well ... let us cross." She began walking across the street, hoping to avoid the conversation about the status of her hand, but no doubt Ainsley had already noticed it.

xxxxxNow Gwenliana's second hand had begun to dissolve, sending a tingling sensation through her whole body. Worriedly, but also a bit calmly, she realized that it must be her time to leave this place. Gwenliana reached impulsively to her face, to touch the single frozen tear that she had shed for Ainsley- and in turn- all of the senshi. The twosome had finally crossed the street, and Gwenliana began to worry that she wouldn't reach Ainsley's home before dissolving. Quietly, Gwenliana asked, "Is it quite a bit farther, Ainsley dear?"
PostPosted: Tue Jan 11, 2011 9:49 pm

Ainsley had done exactly what people had always told her not to do: stare. She stared and stared at Gwenliana's hand as it was offered to her, and then when Gwenliana pulled it back she lifted up her own hands. She looked at one and stared, and then to the other and stared. It seemed the girl was comparing them. Gwenliana had hands like her, didn't she? Where did half her hand go? She thought about this silently as the truth began to unveil itself in her mind. She didn't say anything at all, and tried to stay as close to Gwenliana as possible when they crossed the street. However quiet the girl may have remained, she was still holding one of her hands out and staring at.

At this point, tears were starting to fall down the small child's face and drip onto Octavian Oswald's fluffy white head and then even down his face. She couldn't stop, but she was trying to keep quiet. She was doing a pretty good job at it until Gwenliana had asked her a question. What was she going to do? She tried to stop crying so she could anwer but all that came out was: "Uuwwwwaaaaaaaaaah... aaa..." She couldn't say the place she was staying at for the night was just down the street. No words escaped her lips as she began to rub her eyes, more tears flowing from her icy blue eyes that seemed to mimic the very colour of Gwenliana's skin.

xxxxxBut suddenly, something happened that Gwenliana wasn't expecting at all. As she reached the other side of the frigid, ice covered road, Ainsley burst into tears. It was a sound that positively pierced her heart straight through. Gwenliana had only shed a single tear for her princess, but listening to Ainsley wail made Gwenliana want to howl into the wind all night. It was a horrible sound that echoed over and over in her mind, even though it had just happened. Though on the verge of tears, Gwenliana smiled and said, "Ainsley, what's wrong dear?"

xxxxxBy now, one of her hands was dissolved completely, and this miasma was slowly spreading up her wrist. But Gwenliana knew she had to get Ainsley home. Determined, she said, "Ainsley, we need to move on. I need to get you home." Desperateness slipped into her tones as she spoke, but she tried to stay strong for Ainsley. For Ainsley, Gwenliana thought over and over. In the past few hours, it seemed as though Gwenliana's entire world had shifted and now revolved around the small, chilled girl. Even worse, Gwenliana could see her reflection in Ainsley's tears, and noticed her hair, too was beginning to melt away, forming tiny snowflakes that tumbled to the ground. She reached up to feel her hair, when she realized that she had no fingers left to touch it with. It seemed as though the process was now speeding up.

xxxxxAlthough earlier she had rushed Ainsley along, Gwenliana came to an immediate halt in her steps. Looking down at the precious girl, Gwenliana gulped and said, "Ainsley ... something is wrong." It was a blatant and dull sentence, but Gwenliana couldn't think of another way to say it. It was obvious that she was fading fast, and she wanted to say some things to Ainsley without having to rush her home.

PostPosted: Tue Jan 11, 2011 11:12 pm

Ainsley kept trying to answer Gwenliana but the tears were flowing down her face and over her lips at this point and while the temperature was warming from what it had been previously, they still felt cold on her skin. She had made progress though, her arms retracting back towards herself the more she tried to stop. Her thoughts were full of concern and worry for her friend Gwenliana, and the more she thought about it the more she cried but also the more she was able to pull herself out of the state of misery she was in.

She tried to look at Gwenliana more, her tear filled eyes scanning the ice dancer. Her hands were nearly gone and her beautiful hair was melting away as well. Ainsley sniffled more, watching as her friend slowly seemed to be melting away in front of her. Her retracted hand reached towards the dancer, but then fell back. What if she made the progress go faster? Ainsley shook her head, clinging to Octavian Oswald who was now covered in the tears from the child. They almost gave the appearance that the bunny was also crying.

"I...uwah... I..." She tried to get out as her sobs covered many of her words. "Please... uu... uuu... don uuaa... leave me... pleaseeee."

There had to be a way to help her friend, the child thought. There just had to be. Her friend was disappearing! Ainsley couldn't imagine how much it would hurt to slowly disappear, and the idea that her friend would disappear made the small child's chest ache. Her knees wobbled a little, and she clung her arms around her chest while her blue eyes looked so desperately at her friend.

"Down... there... uuuuu..." She pointed her hand just a little in the direction of the house just down the street. "I... I'm staying... therewaah."

She pulled her hand back a little and tried to continue, trying to move in the direction she had pointed towards. "M-m-ma-ma-maybe," she got out. "Uwaah... w... we can... h-he-help you." With a pause to gather her words properly, she took a breath before continuing. "You'll be okay."

And then the child bit her lip, trying to hold back her sobs more, burying her face into Octavian Oswald's head, her eyes looking between his ears at Gwenliana as she slowly shuffled her feet to make sure the snow dancer followed.

xxxxxGwenliana smiled warmly at the child's brave attempt to put on a fierce face and save her, but she knew it was in vain. Gwenliana was fading fast, and she had finally figured out why. Her only purpose here on this planet was to spread the snow for her snow princess. Now that her princess was gone, the magic had run out. It was over. Gwenliana absentmindedly touched her frozen tear once again. Yet somehow, she wasn't all that sad for herself. She knew it was her time to go, and maybe, just maybe, she would be reunited with her kind-hearted princess. However, she did feel sad when she looked back at the little senshi. Once Gwenliana was gone, she would probably cry even more than she was now. It was heartbreaking, Gwenliana never wanted anything to happen to Ainsley. She was precious to Gwenliana.

xxxxxGwenliana's icy brows arched in sadness when she heard the sobs of Ainsley. The little girl even retracted her hand, as if doing so would somehow save the ice dancer. Attempting to put on her best smile, Gwenliana said, "Ainsley dear, I ..." she paused, look for the best way to gently phrase her sentence, then said, "Well I have to go, and I'm afraid there's no way around it." As she spoke, her arms had already dissolved, and she could tell it was spreading even faster. She wanted desperately to reach out and comfort Ainsley, but figured it would only worry her more. If Ainsley wanted to hug her, she would gladly oblige, but for now she would simply stand there with her, choking back tears.

xxxxxEven though she was quickly fading, when Ainsley pointed to her house, Gwenliana let out an audible sigh of relief. She had at least succeeded with one goal: getting Ainsley home. Gwenliana giggled and starting laugh in spite of herself. A few days ago she was only worried about if her pirouette was correctly done; now here she was devoting all of her pent up energy into saving one child. One very important child, Gwenliana corrected herself. "I'm quite sure you've realized that the ice princess is gone, right? Well ... I'm going to join my princess now. You'd want that, wouldn't you?" Gwenliana paused, thinking once again how to place her words so that Ainsley could understand. Then, a lightbulb went off in her mind as she realized what to say. "Well, I'm leaving, but not completely." She winked and then continued, "Well see all of this snow? I am going to become a part of it, just like my princess. And whenever it snows, you can know I'll be there. Does that make sense?"

xxxxxGwenliana looked around for something to wipe Ainsley's tears with, but sadly, found nothing. It was odd, Gwenliana could still feel the faint outline where her hands would be, and she could probably wipe off the tears herself, but she didn't want to worry Ainsley. Instead she quietly whisper, "Ainsley, if you want to cry, you cry all you need to okay?" She wasn't about to selfishly ask for a smile to send her off. She knew this probably hurt Ainsley, because it hurt Gwenliana just the same. Still, she smiled and did her best to comfort the child. By now her skirt was half dissolved; just like her legs and arms. Her hair was now a short style, and if anyone else saw it, they would have just assumed she had a pixie cut to begin with. There was a slight patch disappearing from the side of her torso, but Gwenliana wasn't concerned with this at all. She only cared about poor Ainsley.
PostPosted: Sun Feb 06, 2011 1:47 pm

Ainsley didn't understand at all. Gwenliana, her dear friend, was disappearing before her very eyes. Why? Why did everyone Ainsley love leave her? Ainsley face could only fill up with more tears as Gwenliana told her she had to go and there was absolutely no way around it. That she had go to where her princess was. Ainsley didn't want Gwenliana to go, not even for the princess. The princess was a fake, wasn't she? But... a princess. Gwenliana's princess. Gwenliana belonged with her princess, didn't she? But what about Octavian Oswald? He was a prince! What about him?

Ainsley found herself shaking her head, wrapping her cold arms around the ice dancer as tightly as she could. She looked to the side at all the snow that the snow dancers had produced in the time Ainsley had met Gwenliana. She seemed to be thinking about the time the two of the met, and how Gwenliana had danced with Octavian Oswald. She seemed to lose herself before she finally looked back up towards Gwenliana. She tried to push Octavian Oswald up to Gwenliana. She managed to make it so his head was visible, and his ears flopped back and forth. It seemed like he was sad too.

"What about... Octavian Oswald?" She whimpered. Octavian Oswald would be heartbroken! The thought of it made Ainsley's face twist and more tears fall down her face. She was cold, but she refused to let go of the ice dancer. If she let go... Gwenliana might leave her! Even if as an unconscious thought, if Gwenliana were to go, Ainsley wanted to be holding onto her at the time.

"But... you're here now..." she murmured as she cried against the ice dancer.

xxxxxGwenliana tried not to frown at Octavian's gestures but how could she? A prince was sad with her depature? She frowned at the prince's disapproval, and as much as she wanted- no; desired to stay, she knew she couldn't. It was a bit hard to stop yourself from disappearing, especially if it wasn't your magic keeping you on the planet. She thought back to her princess, all the havoc she wreaked, and all the pain she was causing now with Ainsley. Perhaps ... her princess wasn't nice? But ... the only thing Gwenliana could remember was a kind, loving princess. None of it made sense. Pain made no sense.

xxxxxWhat Ainsley did next caught Gwenliana compeltely by surprised though. Instantly she felt warm arms gripped around her tiny waist, and it shocked her for a moment or two. When she keyed back into reality though, she quickly grasped the girl in a loving embrace back, and patted her head as she cried. Her arms were no longer there, but she could see a crease on Ainsley's clothes- so she knew something was being felt. Perhaps she would only truly disappear once all of her snowflakes were gone. Which wouldn't be long now, unfortunately. Her hair was all but on, and her legs and arms had completely disappeared. She was a simply face, a torso, and a tattered, dissolving skirt.

xxxxxFrowning a bit, Gwenliana said, "Well my dear" she sniffed, fighting back the urge to completely break down, "Octavian has you, and you're a far better princess than I could ever hope to be." She thought back to the day they had first met, dancing in the snow. Ainsley had politely asked if Gwenliana was a princess. "Ainsley dear, do you remember when I asked you if you were a princess? You said no, remember? Well" she hugged Ainsley even tighter, "I think you are a fine princess."
