Santana sat in one of the chairs in his living room, laptop on the table in front of him. He'd been sitting with Litural, letting the boy watch late night television until he'd finally drifted off. Well, most of him...that third eye was still awake, but focused on the flashing light of the T.V. Nick @ Nite was keeping it pretty occupied and it even squinted happily at the jokes. The rest of the boy slept peacefully..and for a moment, Santana almost forgot about the damage the boy had done to his apartment the week before. Almost. Sighing, the wolf man opened up his E-mail. There had been a message from the facility saying they wanted an update on the boy's progress. "Progress?" Santana muttered to himself, almost laughing. Well...now that he thought about it, he supposed that as long as Lit wasn't reverting back to his original behavior, that was as much progress as anything else. Santana's Journal I wish I could say that Litural has been improving in leaps and bounds, but that's not really the case. Last week I left him with a neighbor while I went back to work. When I came home for lunch, he had terrified her so badly she was locked in the bathroom and he was ransacking my apartment. Since I can't trust him with anyone else, I had to take a leave of absence from my job. Most of our days are spent teaching him to control his anger and keep him from destroying my furniture. I have taken him on a couple small outings - we need to eat and I don't think it's right for him to be inside all the time - and all he ever wants to do is pick fights. I believe we've met two other facility children, and he treated them with hostility and fear. He almost bit one girl in the grocery store! With all this, I will say he's responding well to some...training. My heritage is very feral by nature, and the same actions that my mother used on me when I was misbehaving as a child have worked well on Litural. Direct stares, low growls, slight physical correction; as much as I hate to say it, I've been treating him very much like a puppy, but it works! Yesterday, a commercial for Fashion Bug came on the T.V., and the woman on the screen set off Lit's anger. I managed to keep him from attacking the screen simply by edging him off of the couch and onto the floor. Despite the issues, I don't want you to think I'm giving up on the boy. He hasn't reverted back to his original animalistic behaviors that he was showing at your facility, and as long as Lit continues to "behave," I'm not even considering sending him back to you. I know there's a good kid in there somewhere, and by the gods I'm determined to bring him out. "Santana?" The wolf's head snapped up when he heard his name, blinking as he saw Litural sitting up on the couch. The boy was rubbing his eyes, the main ones, with both hands. The third actually seemed sleepy itself, half-lidded and blinking slowly as it looked at him. "Bedtime?" the boy asked, the darker green eye fluttering awkwardly due to crusty gunk sticking in the corner. Santana smiled some, wishing that Litural was always so calm, and quickly sent the E-mail on it's way before shutting the laptop. "Sure, buddy...let's get you into bed."

Heading back to SoS - About meeting his father
"You're not gonna throw the chow mein against the wall again, are you?" Santana asked casually as he spooned some of the brown noodles onto a plate, going to another box and adding some sweet and sour chicken to the mix.
It was Friday night, their usual take-out night, and once again Santana was fighting a strenuous battle with the half-breed child. It had started earlier when the two had gone out to get their dinner. Litural had been so good all week; not really fighting back when asked to do something and just generally being...well, normal. Santana had thought maybe all their time together was starting to calm down the boy and make him not be such a aggressive person.
Oh, he'd been so wrong. Lit was silent the whole time until they got to the Chinese food joint. And even then, he was quiet until the woman walked up to the counter. And then it started...the growling, the defensive behavior; like a spark to a torch, Litural lit up in a blaze of anger.
Santana was pretty sure he wouldn't be welcomed back into that place again. At least, not if Lit was with him.
The silence after his question drew Santana to glance up at the child, curious. No smart remark? Where was the biting come back? It was completely unlike Litural to let a poke like that go unanswered.
What he saw made him grin. Litural had been getting bigger, his coordination skills a little stronger each day. Which should have scared Santana, but for now he was enjoying how the baby was becoming a young boy. And one way he thought he'd indulge this is by offering Lit chopsticks to eat with.

"You know they want you to start keeping a journal," Santana said very casually as he stood against the counter in the kitchen, watching Litural mix together a brownie batter.
"What for?" Litural responded with a mutter, looking around his work space. "Where'd the peanuts go?"
"Over here," Santana said as he retrieved the bag for the boy, cutting it open before allowing Lit to measure out the correct amount and add it to the mix.
"Well, they've been asking me to keep them updated on how you're doing. I suppose they want to know what you think about all of this."
"I think they suck and wish they would go away." Lit got out the pan he was going to use, giving it to his guardian. "Hold this, please?"
Santana smiled, partly because of the boy's answer. Mostly because he said please. He held the pan while Lit poured the batter out of the bowl.
"Yeah. No one really likes them from what I've seen but still, they're not going anywhere any time soon. We might as well play the game while they're asking us to."
The mixing bowl had been carefully scraped down and the pan shaken slightly in order to smooth out the top. Santana placed the raw brownies into the oven, already warmed, and set the timer.
Litural watched with narrowed eyes. He didn't like the facility. He didn't like the people in it, though that Mr. Vampy man had been interesting. The idea that he was permanently tied up in their strings left a bitter taste in his mouth.
"What happens if I don't do it?" he finally asked when the pair left the kitchen to sit on the couch in the living room.
Santana shrugged, "I don't know. Maybe nothing. But, maybe if you don't do it, blood will rain from the sky and pigs will dance to Polka music." The man raised his hands into the air, waving them around as he did a very bad polka circle.
Lit's third eye rolled, unamused by the joke...even though the rest of his face was squinted in a smile. He lightly nudged his elbow into Santana's side, "For real."
The wolf man chuckled, sitting down in one of the chairs while the boy plopped onto the couch.
"I honestly don't know. More than likely, they'll ask me to bring you in. Yeah," Santana said when Lit's face wrinkled in displeasure. "Not good."
"It's bad enough I have to visit Chastity soon...I don't want to go back there any more than I have to," Litural seemed to pout as he reached for the remote.
"Then I suggest you get that journal done."
Litural sighed, flipping through the channels before glancing out into the kitchen, worried about his brownies. "Ok, ok. But after my brownies are ready."

Lit laid on his stomach on the couch, kicking his feet back and forth in the air while he opened Santana's email provider. He glanced up as his guardian came out from the kitchen with a plate of brownies, all nicely cut into squares. He grabbed one of the chewy treasures, munching it with a satisfied smile. "Sho wut..." "Not with your mouth full, Litural," Santana warned gently, grabbing a brownie himself to settle down across from the boy again. Litural rolled his eyes, chewing and swallowing the brownie before looking at the albino and trying again, "So what does this have to say?" "Whatever you want it to. Last time I told them about the kids you met and how well you were doing here," Santana said before taking a bite of his brownie. "Good job, Lit. Peanuts were a nice touch." "Thanks," Litural said with a proud grin, before glancing down at the computer screen and wrinkling his nose. "Anything I want," he mused. Litural's Journal I'm doing this because I don't want to come back more than I have to. I don't like you. Any of you. But Santana says that you might make him bring me back if I don't do this. So I'm doing it. I like living here. Santana can be annoying sometimes, but he's helped me a lot. I don't get angry so much anymore because we do meditations to help me control myself. Santana says when I'm older and better at keeping my mind clear he'll teach me some fighting things. I can't wait. I've met a lot of kids like me. The guys were cool, but this one girl was not. I got into a fight with her because she was stupid and jumped me. That's why Santana started teaching me meditations so that I can do better if I get into more fights. I'm learning to cook. I really like to cook and I'm good at it. I just finished making brownies and they're really good. Santana helps me with stuff like cutting and using the oven, but most of the stuff I do by myself. I watch shows on the food channel all the time and someday I think I want to be a chef. "Quite a bit of typing you got there," Santana mentioned, trying his hardest to not peek. Lit nodded, moving the mouse around as he sent the update on its way.

After helping Litural clean up the kitchen, Santana sat down at his laptop to contemplate his own report to the facility. The boy was off in the bathroom, taking a shower. Santana knew he was going to be a while - after all, do you realize how hard it was to fit that double set of wings into the shower, let alone wash them? The wolf man would have plenty of time, and peaceful quiet, to write. Sipping his coffee, Santana thought about the past few months. There was a lot to report, and he was proud to say that most of it was good news. Santana's Journal It's amazing how quickly kids grow up. I've seen it from a distance; my parents are from big families, so I had tons of various cousins with kids that I've been around through the years. None of that prepared me for having Litural and experiencing it myself, though. He's doing so well...at least, he is now. There was one occasion he got away from me at the mall, but he hasn't tried to run away since. And he did get into a brawl with one of your other spawns (purple skin, tri-clops eyes...you guys really enjoy making those Wrath babies, don't you?). I know he threw your men around like no body's business, but this girl had Shar's strength on her side and he got his a** beat, which humbled him some. Getting him to meditate out his anger has been so much easier since then, especially after I promised I'd teach him to fight if he learned to control himself better. We're probably going to start working on his defense sometime in the next week or two. Speaking of skills, I would highly recommend screening your applicants before throwing them in with the kids. Lit's "teacher" for his skill class was one of the most clueless men I'd ever met. Do you know how many idiots I've worked with in my life? That man just about took the cake. But, getting back to Litural, I've taken note that one of his biggest triggers - if not the biggest - is women. I had a inkling about it when he was younger, but it wasn't until I started keeping him away from females that I believed what I suspected. Granted, he's still distrustful of strangers right off the bat, but as long as they don't touch him he's okay. I actually think he's made some friends with a few of the boys he's met recently. I hope so...if there's one thing that Lit doesn't need, it's being stuck here in my apartment all the time. My favorite thing that Lit's been doing? He's picked up cooking. Man, the house has never smelled so good and I don't think I've ever seen him be so proud of himself as when he's made something. His first attempts where tough, and dealing with his rage about a botched recipe was rocky, but it's something he really enjoys. After watching a few cooking shows and reading some of the books I got him, he's even started adding his own touches to his "dishes". I'm thinking about getting him that cooking training game. He'd have fun with that. Like I said, all and all, Lit's been doing great. We've been doing really well, and I think you'll be happy to know that the disruptive kid you created is growing into a pretty awesome person. Santana read through the report, making sure that he hadn't forgotten anything before sending the letter on its way across the net.
