That being said, his rise in cheer wasn't enough to hide the fact that his nerves were a bit... frazzled, by this point. It was nothing that a few deep breaths couldn't fix, and an impromptu pep talk from Dallas.
"Ah?" Naomi looked up at Dallas, instinctively correcting the angle of his phone so that he could get a better look at the blonde in the process, before pressing his lips together. The urge to insist that he was 'just fine' was strong, but he held his tongue in lieu of hearing his friend all the way through. Even if he did want to lie speak to his 'true' condition, it didn't take from the fact that Naomi did appreciate Dallas' words; it was just unfortunate that he wasn't given the chance to voice this.
Before his eyes Dallas began to shrink? And in his shock, Naomi took a half-step back. "Dallas?!" His voice of confusion turned to one of concern when he realized what was truly happening, but before he could even move to help Dallas the male was gone, slipping through the floorboards and down below.

There was no time to even process Dallas' disappearance, as, no sooner had he disappeared, did a bright pink light shoot through the wall, briefly illuminating the room. Naomi stumbled back, and behind Ieyasu. Immediately after the light faded away a Torracat jumped through a newly created hole, undoubtedly created by some sort of... attack? Naomi squinted at the feline, "Mori?" No... that wasn't right, Moriyoshi was still outside with the others. He, hesitantly, took a step forward, though kept his eyes on the pokemon even as he scooped up Ieyasu. If that wasn't Moriyoshi then it had to be...
"Susan?" There were too many things happening at once. But, of all the events that had occurred within the last thirty seconds, Naomi knew which one to focus on. "Dallas was taken. By a ghost -- I believe," he answered, and with his left hand he brushed his bangs from out of his eyes. "Somewhere down there, and we need to get to him." Naomi turned to his left, where the second hole had been made, and then back to the floor; the latter was the fastest, but they didn't know just how far the next floor was. "Whoever used that last move..." Naomi started slowly, mind working. "Do you think you could use it again? On the floor this time. But... carefully, and more condensed, we just need to see to the next floor."

As Azalea argued with Alex about tastes in music, it became apparent that the only kind of music he knew was instrumental. "Uh... Yeah???" Azalea stared back at Alex with her usual deadpan stare, but she too was utterly confused. "Most music has words? What kind of rock have you been living under kid? It's called self-expression." Sall forks, polite manners, no real world experience, and a knowledge of only instrumental—likely classical, ugh—music. He was screaming "rich boy" and Azalea only realized it now. No wonder he was so helpless. It was a good thing she found Alex when she did. Azalea was going to have to save his sorry a** before the prim and proper fuddyduddies ruined him for good. "Don't worry Alex, just stick with me. We can eat snacks all day and I will personally destroy any small fork that we come across. Hell, we can eat with our hands if we wanna." There was a spark of something in her eyes that showed her determination. There wasn't much in the world that could motivate Azalea, but she'd be damned if she was going to let Alex go back to that. "I'll give you a proper education. It's called life, and you're gonna love it. Let's start by getting outta this—"
Azalea stopped dead in her tracks, her gossamer skin somehow looking paler than usual and a cold sweat quickly forming in the palms of her clammy hands. For the most part, things in the haunted house had been pretty uneventful as of late, and Azalea had made the mistake of dropping her guard because they appeared to be coming to the end of their tour. But now a mimikyu stood at the end of the hallway, blocking the exit, and Azalea was paralyzed. It made a strange hissing sound and it's fake neck tilted to the side at an awkward angle, and as it did, Azalea felt a pounding in her head. There were brief flashes of a forest, and the startling feeling of falling through the floor as the ghost type reached out to her with its long shadowy hand. Somewhere in the distance, Azalea could hear someone screaming as she collapsed to the ground.

"M....? ...is....?" Azalea started to come to, lying on her back and listening to the distorted and distant noise of a voice attempting to rouse her. She blinked languidly and eventually woke. "Miss...? Are you alright?" They were outside on the grass just behind the haunted house. The attendant seemed to have decided that a little sunlight and fresh air might help rouse her. "Ungh...." Azalea blithered. Her body felt heavier than usual, and the headache hadn't gone away—in fact, it was worse. "I must say, we pride ourselves on making a truly terrifying haunted house experience, but we didn't quite expect to scare anyone this much!" The man laughed anxiously, trying to lighten the mood. He went on to reassure Alex that the pokemon they trained wouldn't actually hurt anyone. In fact, the mimikyu in the hallway had only stood there. What Azalea had seen was entirely of her imagination, and as far as Alex would have seen, Azalea had simply suddenly collapsed at the sight of the fairy ghost.
Azalea slowly sat up, rubbing her throbbing head. "There we go! See, you survived! And for being such a good sport, we have some prizes you can pick from." Azalea had half a mind to tell the man to shove those prizes up his a**, but thought better of it when she saw what he was offering. She first noticed the berries and balm mushroom. These were rare—really rare. It almost made up for the fact that she'd passed out. Almost.

Alex normally would be glowing under Az's praise, but instead he was preoccupied muttering, "What's a resume?" He added, louder, "Oh yeah, and you gotta do it right so what your hiding doesn't break up into really small pieces. I mean, dumping the crumbs at the bottom into your mouth is awesome but you can't just do that with the whole thing. Trust me I tried it and it was only amazing for like three bags."
Alex shrugged. He didn't really know what to call everything they taught him, if it all even fit into one category. Jefferstofferson always said he was learning how to be a 'gentleman', but that sounded fake. "Oh, well, most of the food was sort of the right size for it. Everything Az was saying was great, but Alex did like the music he usually listened to. He actually felt a little defensive, even if he fistpumped to everything else. "Yeah!" He chuckled, trotting happily along. "You know it's funny, Jeffernono called it a 'proper education' too. I never knew there were multiple kinds. Your's sound more fun though." He mentally kicked himself for not taking the chance to say 'funner', if only he hadn't automatically used correct grammar.
Without any way to tell that there was anything wrong, Alex kept walking. That is, until he heard the thump. "...Az?" Cup Noodle shot out the top of Alex's costume, and filled the hall with a blindingly bright blue flash. "Az!?" Alex grabbed the sheet and ripped it off his head, sending his hair into disarray.
What he saw when he did didn't scare him... just confused him. There was a cute plushie at the end of the hall, and Az was a few steps back. Noodle floated back down to Alex, snuggling back into the boy's clothes. "Is she...taking a nap?"

Apparently Noodle's flash brought an attendant running even as the startled mimikyuu went for help. Alex followed them outside, sheet bunched up in his hands. "Um. So does this mean we finished?" he asked on the way. The man chucked in a weird way. "You could say that."
When Az finally woke up, Alex was starting to wonder just how she'd managed to just spontaneously fall asleep. Then... then they explained it. "Wait, you were scared?" Of what though? There was just that cute doll with the floppy neck! Had something happened while he wasn't looking? "Of course, I made sure you were safe," he stated, grinning goofily and looking thoroughly boyish with his ruffled bedhead.

Dallas shouted, cursed, and bit at the strange clutches that had taken hold of him and dragged him further down, finding himself not strong enough to break out of their grasp. "Get your hands off me, you b*****d!" The hands did not abide, and only brought him further down before unceremoniously tossing the thug out of the ceiling and to the floor of another room. "Ouch! Dammit..." Dallas slowly stood up, and rubbed his aching butt. "Smooth move, idiot; you go off and say some cheesy crap like that, and now you're stuck...well, somewhere else!" He looked around the room; it was a lot like the other one that he had just left: dark, dank, and devoid of any exist.
"Looking for an exit? Well, tell ya what! Since I'm such a nice guy, I'm gonna give ya one!" Suddenly, a passage appeared in the wall, and there was a bright "EXIT" sign at the end. "Psh, seriously? Just like that?" Dallas cocked an eyebrow as he looked around for the disembodied voice. "Yeah, sure! I mean, it's so boring trying to scare you two idiots to death, so go on, get outta here! I'll make sure your little buddy gets out too." Dallas was uneasy about how easy that all was, but all of the bullcrap was starting to get on his last nerve. So, he decided to trust the voice, and start heading down the hallway. "Oh, that reminds me: I've been trying to look into your deepest most fears! Looks like you're really afraid of...

Suddenly, the ceiling fell away, and dozens of ghoulish-looking ekans and seviper came out, falling on and around Dallas, and started to constrict him. And this time, Dallas lost his cool completely. "I'll let that slide for now," she said, which only sounded like grumpy meows to any human, "Especially since we gotta save my trainer! So, he's been taken by a ghost or something? Ugh. Dumb ghosts and their dumb tricks." The cat hissed at the thought of it all, and paced the room, waiting on Susan to hurry up.

Beltigre hopped down into the next floor first, and sniffed the air. "Dallas was definitely through here, somehow," she announced to the other pokemon. "But I don't know where he went from here." Susan came down next, and looked around the room. It seemed to be a nursery of sorts, with plenty of baby toys and cradles all over. Susan doesn't like this room, she said, whimpering slightly. She gripped her witch hat tightly, and walked through the room cautiously. As she looked for an exit, she started to hear the sounds of some of the old, creepy mobiles spin and play flat, out-of-tune melodies, all on their own. S-Susan really no like this r-r-r-r-room! She started towards Beltigre, hoping that Naomi would hurry down so they could get the heck out of there and find Dallas. Beltigre was not amused, and snorted at her fraidy-friend. "Please, this isn't scary at all!"
Just then, one of the cradles fell over, revealing a squealing, deformed baby that flailed and writhed towards the torracat. "NOOOOOOPE! DIE DIE DIE DIE!" She wasted no time in setting the thing ablaze, and its screeching started to wind down and deform as its speaker died out. When the flames went out, it was just a simple animatronic that hardly looked as creepy as it did when Beltigre laid eyes on it the first time.
"HEHEHEHEHEEEEE! You guys are too easy to scare! How are ya gonna rescue your muscle dummy of a friend like this?! AHAHAHAHAH!"

Although he wasn't sure why Susan and Beltigre had followed them into the haunted house, he was grateful for their presence and the assistance they'd provide.
