Quirking an eyebrow, the ginger smirked. "Aint' that kinda thuh meanin' of uh prodigy? Someone who's good at somethin' 'n catches onto it fast?" he pointed out. Oh no. No. No. Was this going to be another one of their horrifically in depth random discussions? And yet Jay was grinning. He, obviously, did not care. Anyone else who might have heard them in the past, however.... He snapped his fingers when Sebastian commented on Tauros. "Exactly," he stated, still grinning. Honestly, he wasn't actually even sure if it was possible for a human being to be that heavy, but... it was the point of the matter, really. "Well how 'bout that. Us scrawny folk stickin' tagether." That was a bit amusing, even to someone who's perspective of the word was a little skewed.
"Huh.... Well, ah dunno 'bout tryin' it mahself, but it does sound interestin'. Maybe if we end up findin' nothin' else ta do, 'r somethin'," he decided. Though honestly, as it were, food was becoming more of a priority, after finding his pokemon, counting coins, and maybe, hopefully, moving towards getting Koda to feel better. And beyond that... well, actually, his first priority was just maneuvering, so it was good he had Sebastian's help. And... he appreciated his friend's ability to sort of move the conversation around and past the whole situation. He smirked some when he commented that he hadn't won anything before, in fact. "Yew ever entered anythin' before?" he pointed out. He paused when Sebastian asked about the TMs, then shrugged. "Dunno. Yew said they had uh lotta prizes, too, right? Might just pull from the same source, or even the same stock they got fer that," he commented thoughtfully, while waiting for Ralts to return with the others.
Jay stopped a bit when Sebastian mentioned... lasers. "Uh." He frowned, brow furrowed. "Well that's good." His incredulousness and concern was fairly evident. "Thuh ******** you worryin' 'bout lasers beams for, Sebastian?" Obviously, there was a slight concern for safety now. Perhaps he had slightly. Still a bit wary, he paused, then added, "Yew want me to see if any've mah pok'mon can try'n find 'em?"
His resources were a bit limited at the time, but perhaps Ralward could try, when he got back... Speaking of, the pokemon returned with a bag, swerving through the crowd and darting away from curious or lingering eyes. 'Golett is still playing, Jay,' he informed him, 'But Jade and Gail are headed this way. They have a little under three hundred coins, so together you should have just under four hundred. If you don't mind, I'd like to empty this bag into the one you have and return it to Golett.' Jay raised his eyebrows a bit, but took his hand off Sebastian to kneel down. "Sure thing. Nearly four hundred ain't bad.... just uh li'l more 'n we can heal Koda up, hopefully," he remarked.
Ralts didn't say anything else as he deposited the coins, and headed back to find Golett, just as Jade, sunglasses and all, rejoined with Gail.

"I thought prodigies were more like… people who were exceptionally amazing at something from the get go despite how complicated it should be?" Sebastian remarked thoughtfully, a hand rubbing under his chin in thought. It was quite possibly going to become one of those conversations, wasn’t it? How was this is even happening? The man returned the grin though, honestly laughing at the remark. "Yes, string beans united, right?" He joked, choking down another laugh in the process. Ah, it was good fun chatting with Jay, Sebastian had to admit. There was always something to cover even if the conversations were just all kinds of crazy and unorthodox.
"Sure, sounds good. It’s good to try everything at least once." Well almost everything. Situations that had permanent endings like… death or whatever, were best avoided until… probably never. Or something. He shook the thought off. "Were you interested in checking into something else?" He was interested in seeing the rest of the fair after all so he didn’t mind either way. "I did. Remember you were chastising me about that?" He jeered a bit, head tilting at the thought. "And no… I haven’t really ever entered anything before. I suppose that makes all the difference doesn’t it?" It’s not like Lavender Town was raging with lottos or giveaways or… any of that kind of exciting fanfare. This was probably the first time in his life that he was able to experience something like this.
When Jay questioned him about his concern for ‘lasers’, Sebastian couldn’t help but fidget, rubbing behind his ear as he gave a very questionable chuckle. "Ah… well. Just because…," Oh boy there was that awkwardly explaining issue of having a murderous Sylveon. "He just… tends to laser beam everything is all." He finally commented, trying very hard to make it sound as though it wasn’t a big deal. Even though it really was. Like… majorly. Sebastian went quiet a moment in thought over the question, head tilting a bit. "If you wanted too, sure. I mean Tria is with them after all… probably best to make sure they’re all okay." Jay quirked an eyebrow and seemed to think that over. "Ah dunno... Think yew can be uh prodigy at anythin'. Prodigy at bakin', runnin'... S'more yer skill fer it than thuh task itself, ah think," he remarked thoughtfully. He grinned, though. "S'pose fer this one, though, we may just have ta look it up 'r somethin'. Dunno if we can debate ourselves through it," he commented with a chuckle. His grin grew a bit more as Sebastian laughingly agreed to his comment on bean poles sticking together, and he adjusted his hate. "Right on," he affirmed. Honestly, he was lucky he ran into Sebastian. Traveling would have probably been much, much duller if not for him.
"Yeah? Everythin'? Really Sebastian?" he asked, the smile on his face somehow suggesting he had a list of questions to test that with. He was being playful, but... really, that wording. "Mm, well... food sounds good at some point. Wouldn't mind goin' over ta thuh race tracks at some point, neither. Other'n that.... ah dunno, we could also just wander 'round 'n such," he commented. He smirked a bit at Sebastian's answers. "Well, that don' exactly give uh whole lotta past experience, then, does it? Maybe yer just naturally really lucky 'n ya jus' don' know it," he suggested, then, grinning a bit more, "Hell, maybe yer uh prodigy at gamblin', too." If he weren't already holding onto Sebastian's shoulder, he might try and give him a playful nudge, but... that was always a bit harder for him.
On a more serious note, though, Jay tried very hard not to respond to the whole 'laser beam' business with as much disapproval as he was feeling. Instead he just frowned, and remained quiet a moment. ".... Ah see," he remarked, for once not even making a joke off that, "Just whadid yew teach 'em, anyway?" Seriously, the hell kind of move did that Sylveon know to shoot laser beams? He shifted a bit, then shrugged a shoulder. "Zoey, yew mind goin' ta find Tria 'n thuh other two?" he asked. She squeaked, fluttering off his shoulder, then gave another sound of confirmation, before flapping off. Jay reached up, rubbing his head a bit. He was actually feeling a little headachy... he should probably eat. And perhaps sit down for a bit. But, there were some other things to attend to first.
"Maybe. We can head--" Before he continued, there was a shout nearby, and he cut himself off, turning with a frown. "Sir! Sir!" That voice sounded familiar. "Ah, sir, I don't know if you remember me--""Yew that woman that helped heal mah pok'mon?" Jay recollected. The woman blinked, coming to a stop, having been running towards them, and looked surprised. She glanced briefly at Sebastian, then back at Jay. "Ah, y-yes! I, well... I-I don't mean to be presumptuous, but... W-well I was worried about your pokemon, so... I tried to gather some coins together. I-it's not a lot, but..." She reached out, offering a bag, making sure to jingle it a bit so Jay knew what she was trailing off to.
The ginger stiffened a bit, looking a bit hesitant. "I don'--" he started, but she cut him off. "Please? It's not a lot, I promise, I just... wanted to help, if I could," she asked. Jay's shoulders dropped a bit. It was clear he was at a loss. Finally, though, he sighed, holding a reluctant hand out. "Thank yew. Ah... ah really 'ppreciate it," he uttered sincerely. She smiled, handing him the bag, and bowing to them both. "Thank you! Please use it for your pokemon! I hope he feels better," she replied, looking much relieved. She gave another bow to them both. Heading back into the games, Avikna used some of her pent up frustration on the platter shattering game. Sadly, she missed all but one throw. With a sharp sigh, the red-head moved on to the next game. The Bean bag game was closest, so she attempted that one. This time her rough, hard throws landed her a perfect score. His Pokemon down, the male was forced to retreat. "This isn't the end of this!" He shouted as he ran. Avikna rolled her eyes, this was so annoying. Nijrn fluttered over to Aivkna, landing on her shoulder with a curious look in her eyes. 'What was that about?' She inquired. Avikna shook her head, sighing as she did so. "Nevermind. Let's just continue playing the games." She replied. "Nijrn give me your Dragon Fang." Nijrn was fairly confused by this order, but didn't fuss when Avikna took the fang, tied around her neck off of the bat. "You don't even have a dragon-type move for this to boost." "A running prodigy, huh…," Sebastian’s head tilted in thought, considering the idea. There were certainly a lot of things to be considered a prodigy in but to be an actual prodigy had to have some requirements. "I guess that would be the best option. At least find out the proper definition for a ‘prodigy’." He grinned. It was an interesting thing to consider.
"Well. Almost everything." He remarked, an eyebrow quirking as a bit of a sly grin crossed his face. He listened though as Jay listed off potential things to do. They all sounded like good ideas to be honest and Sebastian could’ve used something well… real to eat. Candy wasn’t very filling. "Something to eat sounds good right about now to be honest. The food smells awesome around this place." He’d caught a few whiffs as they were walking around and it was probably worth the investment. Sebastian smirked a bit at the suggestion that maybe he was a prodigy at gambling. "I don’t know if prodigy is quite right… but I know my way around a game of cards." Jay placed his free hand in his pocket. "Well, maybe runnin' ain't the best one've that list, but... still," he pushed, "Though yeah, should prolly just... consult uh dictionary on this one." He rubbed the back of his neck, then pushed his hat up to push some of his hair back under it, and tug it back down. He smirked some as Sebastian corrected himself in response to his teasing little question, and nodded, a bit relieved, when he agreed to food. Food and drink sounded incredibly good, and though it wasn't yet the top thing on his list, it was starting to get up there. He honestly wasn't even positive when he'd last ate, considering they didn't get anything in the city before they headed here. Geez, he really needed to keep better track of this kind of thing. At least he knew he was sleeping regularly enough.
"Mm, yeah? S'one've thuh things ah could never do, cards. Ah mean ah could, but ah don' think it'd be as int'restin'. S'bout makin' choices off thuh hand yer dealt, right?" he asked thoughtfully. Surprisingly (sort of) card games and gambling were never quite something of the cowboy livelihood he was able to get into, or even really participate in. Cards for the blind were hard to come by, and they made playing the game fairly difficult, and much slower. Not something he could really delve into and enjoy, unfortunately.

But, trying not to make too big a deal out of it all, he pressed on, only for them to be interrupted by a generous return of the nurse who had assisted him before. He was still weighing the bag, frowning as though trying to estimate how many tokens might be in it. "mm... Yeah, she's thuh one who told me 'bout it. Hopefully it helps," he replied. Sighing, he tucked the bag away for now, and nodded. "Alright, sounds good. Lead thuh way... hopefully Zoey can find us 'n join in later," he muttered, with Jade and Gail staying near his heels.
Meanwhile, Tria was, surprisingly, not actually watching Deuce too closely. Or well, she was, but not directly. She was actually watching Rummy, her expression about as readable as any horse's could be, and though she was close to the sylveon, she was clearly watching him with her peripheral vision, not directly. She seemed to be passively 'babysitting', rather than trying to keep him herded up. And it seemed she was more interested in watching Rummy have fun... or... maybe just making sure he didn't actually hurt himself...

Sebastian chuckled but nodded in understanding in concern with the whole prodigy thing. His attention shifted though when Jay made mention of cards and what needed to be done. It was probably odd, but cards were probably one of the few hobbies that Sebastian actually specialized in. It probably helped that he had a lot of free time with work and Lavender Town had so little in regards to activities. Or maybe it was just sad?
"Oh trust me, there’s a lot more to cards than just that. It’s actually really complex." Sebastian remarked eagerly, a hand tapping under his chin as he explained. "You’ve got things like probability to deal with; determining your chances with a hand, the chances of your opponents hand and all that good stuff." He grinned. "And even then, depending on the game it’s all about perception. Bluffing requires things like self-confidence and strength to pull off. And it can build your observation skills in all regards. You figure out tells from people, when they’re lying or when they’ve probably got a good hand. There’s so much to it honestly. It’s great." He glanced over his shoulder back at Jay as he explained, just a bit fired up over the topic. He could imagine it would be difficult for the man to understand given his condition but still, Sebastian couldn’t help but be a little excited to explain it all the same. It was fun. Or once again, maybe he was just a tad bit pathetic.
"Y-yeah… it… it seemed like a good idea at the time." He murmured, rubbing behind his ear again. He couldn’t really recall what he was thinking that made him think it was safe decision. Maybe it was a gambling moment? A gamble that only paid off if the mood was right. He sighed and shook his head, nodding once more and starting to lead the way to the kitchens of the fair, taking in the scents as they shifted between areas. In the meantime, Rummy continued to just be… terrible. He threw the rocks in every direction but the platters thus missing all of them. Of course the fact that he still received a token as a consolation prize resulted in him not realizing his absolute failure at the game. Instead he became distracted and tried the crossbow, a hazard in its own right. He almost missed the target on his first shot and it was only when Deuce decided to intervene and give the dangerous game a go that they managed a bullseye. Whether it was dumb luck or fortune trying to be nice was anyone’s guess. Still, Rummy cheered excitedly as the tokens where collected, opting to shovel them in his mouth to carry. Sending the woman quickly packing, likely to gather more nuisances, Avikna met Nijrn's chin with a scratch of praise. "I'm going to go check out the prize booth. I think we've got enough to get something good now." She stated. Lowering her arm, the red-head pressed forward. Mave took to the sky, to keep a bird's eye over the area. She'd spot anyone approaching Avikna foiling any sort of surprise attack. She was a target now after all. Coming to the prize booth, Avikna set down the bag of tokens, gaining the stand attendant's attention. "Could you count those out for me?" The red-head asked. She quickly obliged, grabbing the bag and taking it to a machine in he back that quickly counted out the tokens. Not entirely of this time, but it made their jobs easier. Luckily they were giving out Mega stones here, as they'd done at Tanabata. Avikna scanned the tokens, her brow furrowing. She saw a Salamancite, more Garchompite, and even both Charizardites. "Are you looking for a specific stone?" The attendent asked, leaning up against the counter. "Yea...." Looking up, Avikna pondered if they'd actually have it. "Do you have... a Rayquazite?" The girl for a moment showed a shocked expression, which wasn't surprising. Avikna was about to simply ask for a Salamancite, until the girl's smile returned. "Actually we do." She leaned in, holding a hand up to her mouth as if she was about to reveal some big secret. "We don't display it, since well.. It's a stone for a legendary, but the bossman has like... connections everywhere, so he still managed to snag a few." A few? Avikna shook her head. "I want one." She stated. "--You plan on catching a legendary?" Called a voice from behind. Avikna spun around to find 3 grunts standing beside one another. "What lengths do you trainers need to go through? The rarer the better, right? We'll, you won't be able to catch anything if we strip you of all your Pokemon and Prison balls!" The two grunts on either side of the loud mouth nodded in unison. Avikna's nose scrunched up as her lip rose in a snarl. They wouldn't really believe her if she told them she already had captured a Rayquaza would they? Whatever.
One of the grunts stepped forward, calling out a Gothorita. Avikna knew just who could deal with this nuisance. "Nijrn." The bat nodded, giving confident clicks as she took to the air, flapping her tiny wings to keep airborne.

Stepping forward he quickly called out a Watchog. Avikna in the meantime, called back Nijrn. "Bahamut you can handle this one." She stated. Might as well get in some training while she was at it. These people seemed fairly weak, and Bahamut was a good match-up against a normal-type. "Use Superpower." Bahamut appeared from his ball, already primed to battle. Once he'd heard his command, the large dino dragon charged forward. The Watchog hardly stood a ghost of a chance; it was knocked out before the word go. Triumphantly returning to Avikna's side with a boastful grin over his giant maw. "D-dude, this girl is tough!" Whined the defeated grunt. "Don't worry. All we have to do is fight fire with fire." He stated. Grabbing a ball from behind his back, the leader of this ragtag pack summoned a Pokemon Avikna hardly would of guessed would be in their hands. A Druddigon.

Avikna's mild shock cooled after a moment. These were people from Unova, and Druddigon was a Pokemon of the Unova region. It ultimately made sense that if they were to have a dragon-type, this would be the one. However, Avikna was the least bit scared. She was more annoyed. "Bahamut, can you handle this one too?" Avikna asked, her annoyance promenent in her tone. [ Raaaaa ] The dragon replied, lowering his body some. "Good. Use Outrage." Bahamut's eyes widened with this command. Raising his body up high, the dragon opened his maw to release an earthshaking rawr before he rushed forward, his body ablaze in some sort of powerful energy, as most of Avikna's dragons knew, Outrage was of the strongest Dragon-type moves, and even on a runt like Bahamut, it did it's job. The Druddigon fainted right away, barely even a moment to react to the sudden intense attack.
All three of them had fell to Avikna's Pokemon. Two of which were Ohko's. "Can you all just leave me alone now? Seriously... I think you're doing more harm to those Pokemon than I ever will to mine. Walking hypocrites the lot of you." They stood their ground for but a moment, mostly due to the pure shock of what was likely their strongest ace in the hole. Finally they began to back up, and after one turned tail and ran, the other two followed. Avikna rolled her eyes, turning back towards the attendant. She offered a shrug of her shoulder and sighed. "I don't get it either. They show up every year." The girl stated. "Anyway, You wanted one of the Rayquazites?" Avikna nodded. "Right. I can see you're a big fan of Rayquaza, seeing that tattoo of yours." The girl cooed before leaving to a back area. A few minutes later she returned with a case containing the stone. Once it was in Avikna's hands, she quickly opened it to check it's authenticity. She'd never seen a Rayquazite before, but she had seem several Mega stones, so she knew for the most part it was real, but would it work? She'd have to rescue Ookoth to see.

She should probably look into finding a place to stay tonight... Bah, whatever. She shook her head, looking up and reaching out, thinking hard to try and locate Elle. ".... Waltzing through the crowds, Ajicka looked around with a sharp gaze, surveying her surroundings and looking for any sign of her pokemon. She glanced up at Edge, narrowing her gaze a bit. He seemed to be having a little trouble up there.... but soon he swept back down, landing on her shoulder and shaking himself a bit. "If you adjust your course slightly right, you should run into them," he informed her matter-of-factly. She glanced at him, but did as he suggested, lifting her head as, after a bit of walking, she spotted the tall form of a gardevoir. 'Elle...?' The pokemon perked up and turned, smiling as she noticed Ajicka. The girl relaxed and continued towards them, spotting her other pokemon as she got closer.
"How are things going?" she asked. 'Good! Or well... rather good,' Elle replied, smiling and tapping her hands together some, 'We, ah... had a few issues with some of the other pokemon-- but it was fine! We could handle that. But now...' She glanced around, anxiously, and Ajicka followed suit. Mm... So those were the Team What's-It grunts she'd seen floating around. There were a few eying her and her pokemon. They must have noticed Elle and the others and left them alone given they weren't with a trainer, but now that she'd shown up...
Ajicka rolled her eyes. "Come on, we need to go find Avikna. We can keep trying the games on the way, but make sure no one gets left behind or separated, alright?" she instructed, turning to start back towards the sparring area. She didn't want Avikna to get annoyed -- or ambushed -- and leave before she could get back, after all.
