Sebastian’s eyebrows rose a little at the odd sound that Jay made as he walked away. Was that like… a laugh? He’d only caught the slightest hint of it but judging by how quickly Jay had slammed his hand over his mouth… that was possibly it. That was… hm. Sebastian couldn’t help but grin, chuckling silently to himself before turning his attention to the range.
It him Sebastian a bit to get use to the longbow; it required a level of strength that he wasn’t expecting to use. Sure, he dug a lot of holes and despite being skinny like a bean pole, he had some hidden muscle to his physique. Still though, it was a bit of a surprise. It took him a couple of go’s, with arrows pretty much flickering off the bowstring in sad flips before he finally landed a shot or two. And once he’d gotten the whole aiming thing down, it got progressively better. Not easier, but better.
Soon, after probably what was a dozen or so shots, he was done. The instructor handed over the targeting sheet as a souvenir, Sebastian grinning and thanking the man before deciding to go and see how Jay was fairing in his own endeavors.

Jay honestly hoped Sebastian, unlike his instructor, did not hear his laugh. It was a horrible, horrible laugh. it was why the most he generally did was 'chuckle', grin, or stifle his laughter. It was a goofy laugh. It was a Goofy laugh. "H-h-hyuk!" Even his sister had mocked him horribly for it when they were younger, not to mention his classmates. It did not take him very long at all to learn to try and avoid laughing out loud whenever possible. And now he'd gone and slipped...
He sighed, but urged his instructor to just focus on teaching him to shoot, which, luckily, she graciously did. Well, perhaps not graciously; she was still fairly obnoxious and playful about it, but he was able to concentrate through it. Soon enough, he was able to start firing, and with help from Zoey-- and, maybe, sort of, a little help from his instructor-- he was able to get the hang of firing. Like Sebastian, he went a few rounds before finishing up, and was given the sheet to keep, though he wasn't sure he, personally, saw the point. Still, he rolled it up and thanked the woman, moving away just as Sebastian approached. Zoey squeaked, recognizing him-- by smell or sound, it was hard to tell-- and fluttered up to greet him. Jay smiled. "How'd you do, Sebs?" he asked playfully.

While Jay was learning to shoot, several of his pokemon were still playing games. Jade, not so much, though Gail was happily bounding around her, having found a napkin and skillfully folded it up into something like a bag (with some begrudging help from Jade) so that she could collect a few coins here and there. Golett, however, was admittedly doing most of the heavy lifting. Both literally, and metaphorically. It had found some sort of sack, much more sturdy than Gail’s makeshift bag, and was steadily filling it with coins. Unlike most pokemon, it seemed completely undeterred by poor outcomes or losing streaks, and went from booth to booth, game to game, and back again. It was getting a fairly hefty sum, as it went, but it didn’t seem to slow at all.
Meanwhile, Quena and Ralward were doing their own bit. Quena didn’t have much enthusiasm for the games, and admittedly, neither did Ralward, but he seemed to take the objective more seriously than his mousey companion. Quena, meanwhile, did what she did best; she scavenged. She found a nifty pair of glasses and kept those for herself—despite them being about the size she was—and just a hoard of other items. She managed to bundle them up in a piece of cloth and drag them around, and quickly demanded that Ralward help her find the battlers. Surprisingly, it wasn’t overly difficult, and upon finding them, she interrupted their battle—or rather, their attempt to find more, as they had just finished some—and began dishing out items.
Mimey blinked. Quena was…. Far more battle savvy than she knew. In a flash, she had replaced Scy’s Pursuit with Thief, Tod’s Water Pulse with Aqua Tail, and had (begrudgingly) given Mary Lee her Choice Specs, boosting all of them by a substantial amount. If they were a force to be reckoned with before… they were practically unstoppable now.

Sebastian grinned and gave Zoey a little wave as she fluttered up to greet him, smiling at the sight of Jay as well. "Hey Jay!" He replied happily, glancing down at the target sheet between his hands at the question. "I did alright. I didn’t hit any bullseyes though. But, I did hit the target at least." He tilted his head a bit in thought, noticing that Jay had the same sort of shooting sheet in hand as he did. "What about you? I take it you managed a few shots as well? Jay smiled, quirking curiously at Sebastian's wording. "Oh yeah? Just once? Or didja manage ta hit it uh few times?" he questioned, smirking a little. The way Sebastian said it, it kind of sounded like he only managed to hit it once. Hopefully that wasn't the case, but... Jay also admittedly had no idea how difficult a long bow was. He'd never really gone near any arrow weapons before, and a crossbow, which he was pretty sure was easiest, had been difficult enough. Eventually he did sort of get the hang of it to use it a bit like a gun, but... still.
"Hm? Ah... ah dunno. 'Pparently ah hit the target 'n almost got uh bullseye but... coulda been sayin' that ta make me feel better 'r somethin'," he replied with a laid back smile. His smile vanished at the teasing remark. "Oh yeah. More'n ah wanted, in fact. She's... somethin'," he remarked, before finally smiling and shaking his head a bit. He almost said something else, but... it probably would have came out odd. "Anyway, yew mind if we try 'n find our pok'mon real quick? Ah wanna see how close we're gettin' with coins, 'n how many more we need," he commented.

Sebastian quirked an eyebrow, glancing to the target paper in his hands as he tried to judge how well he’d done, an honest moment of concentration taking him over. There probably would’ve been plenty more holes in the paper if he’d actually hit with the first few arrows but for the most part, his shot were where peppered closer to the outer rings, with a few managing to find their way in the direction of the center. "Ah… a few times to be honest. But nothing terribly good." He replied honestly. Given who he was talking too, he could’ve easily gotten away with lying but what was the point? "The longbow requires a fair amount of strength apparently."
Sebastian tilted his head, chuckling a little. "Well she gave you the paper, can I take a look?" He inquired, blinking and suppressing another laugh as Jay’s face changed at the mention of his instructor. "Something, hm? Well, she certainly seemed nice." He teased a bit. When Jay asked if they could go find their pokemon he perked up and nodded. "Ah, sure! That’d be a good idea actually…," It had been some time before he’d seen his own pokemon and who knew how well they were doing on the token gathering front? He’d forgotten he still had the satchel with the coins Jay had given him though… it made him wonder how they might be carrying them. Knowing Rummy… he was probably swallowing them.
That was a terrible thought. He shook it off, glancing back around the range one more time before spotting the booths and such where games were taking place. That’d probably be a good place to start looking right. "Yeah, sure let’s go." Sebastian commented, folding up his own sheet and shoving it away in him bag, starting to move in that direction and keeping an eye out. They couldn’t have gotten far and all, right?

Jay quirked an eyebrow. "Well hell, yew should be proud ya got more'n one. Ya even do any shootin' like this before?" he asked. He paused, looking curious when Sebastian mentioned that the longbow required quite a lot of strength. "Ya don' say? Huh... well, that almost makes me curious," he remarked, but then gave a lackadaisical smile, "Almost. Don' think ahm quite ready fer anymore... instructin', just yet."
Jay paused, hesitating a moment, but then handed over the paper. "Sure, ah s'pose so," he decided, shrugging some. Honestly, he wasn't really sure he wanted to find out how badly he'd done... or whether he'd done as well as she said. It was.... Well he didn't really know. Embarrassing wasn't quite the right word. Awkward? It seemed strange, even if he'd done well, for Sebastian to see that. Either way, though... As it turned out, he had managed to get a few hits. One in the far corner, not even on the target-- but then another on the other side, closer, another on the other side, and then three more, gradually close and closer to the center, almost circling around, with one practically on the border of the innermost sphere.
"Mmm, 'nice'.... Yeah... That's uh word," he replied with a lopsided grin. A little invasive and touchy was another way to describe her. She was nice. Just.... playful, too. And, uh... well endowed. It made things more than a little awkward, at least for him. "Ah certainly hope yer instructor wasn't quite as 'nice'. Sounded like they were uh guy, 'n that mighta been just uh tad awkward, ah'd assume," he added with a bit more of a smirk.
He shifted, nodding as they agreed to find their pokemon, and taking a few steps. He paused, though, and slowed, frowning. The noise was pretty hellish... The speakers were going off to announce some more lottos, people were creating a commotion from excitement over the announcement, and over the festivities, and everything... "Uh. Hey Sebs. Till we find them... ya mind if ah... hold onta ya fer a bit?" he asked uneasily. It was pretty clear he was a bit embarrassed to ask... but it was still better than using his cane, in his opinion.

Sebastian just chuckled, rubbing behind his ear sheepishly. "I suppose I should, huh?" He couldn’t help but shake his head. "No, I’ve never shot anything before today. Especially not a bow and arrow." He replied, his head tilting a bit as Jay mentioned being curious. "Oh really? About what?" He inquired curiously. He didn’t know much but hey, he’d given it a try and it was possible he could answer a question about it.
With a smile he took the paper and took a look over it, his eyebrows raising after a moment of looking it over. Jay had done… rather well. He’d certainly gotten closer to a bullseye than Sebastian had in his own attempts. It was amazing and maybe a little surprising on some level. Of course, Jay did have a gun and knew how to aim somehow. "Wow Jay, you did pretty awesome." He grinned, offering the paper back. "I guess that sharp shooting skill pays off right?" He joked.
He did have to chuckle a bit. Jay certainly seemed to have quite the different opinion concerning his instructor, even if he was exactly articulating the fact. At the mention of his own instructor though, Sebastian simply shrugged. "Heh, nah it’d be alright. He was nice though, but one of those kind of standard instructor fellows. He was kind of hard to understand though…," He had one of those gruff tones and such after all. Still he grinned and kept going. Sebastian did stop though when he noted Jay falling behind, looking a bit agitated in the process. "Something wrong?" He inquired, blinking and eyeing Jay a moment as he asked for some assistance in maneuvering, a little surprised by the request. Eventually though the reasoning fell into place; most Jay’s pokemon were out and about and it was kind of noisy… it was probably hard for him to echolocate and such. Eventually he gave a soft smile.
"Sure Jay, I’d be happy to help." He replied, taking a step back so he was beside Jay. "You can hold onto my arm or sleeve or something if you want. Or I can move my bag and you can grab the strap." He remarked, doing what he could to make it less uncomfortable for the cowboy; he could tell it was awkward for him to have to ask at all but he’d prefer to help than have Jay stumble into something or what not.

Jay nodded, grinning. "Then hell yeah yew should. S'impressive just ta hit thuh target on yer first try, 'specially if the weapon's fightin' ya," he replied sincerely. He paused, then smirked. "Just curious just how much force it takes, s'all. Ah ain't no muscle builder 'r nothin', 'n fact ah've been told ahm scrawny lookin'? Dunno, guess ahm just curious 'bout how hard it really is, is all," he admitted. He wasn't a macho guy, but... maybe it was a complex, but testing himself was something that he tended to lead himself into doing, whenever given the chance. And it was something he was apparently at least somewhat aware of. Whether that was good or bad, though... Well, it was hard to tell.
Jay smiled a little, looking both uncertain and a bit modestly embarrassed. "Yeah? Well... that's good ta hear. Zoey helped though. She always does, with that sorta thing," he admitted, shifting a bit and rubbing one arm. He turned his head, listening as Sebastian seemed to roll the paper back up. Pausing, he hesitated, but as Zoey gave a squeak, he reached out, holding a hand open for Sebastian to put the paper in, and taking it back. He put it away in his backpack, though, folding it up a bit to keep it a little more safe, and a little less spacious, all while listening to Sebastian's review of his own experience. "Hard ta understand, huh? How so? Ah know yew can't tell me he had too thick 'n accent," he commented, grinning, "Yew understand me too well ta get by with that excuse." And he'd been told he sounded remarkably hick-ish, with his southern drawl.
After his uncomfortable request, he seemed to remain fairly tense. Especially when there was a delay in Sebastian's response. In fact, he was about ready to dismiss it altogether, but when his friend replied, he... sounded fairly sincere, and, after some reluctance, Jay nodded a little. "Thanks Sebastian," he mumbled, reaching up, touching Sebastian's arm, and then moving to hold his shoulder. HIs grip was a bit tight, but... not so much that he was digging his fingers into him or something. Probably just from the general tension of the situation. "Sorry 'bout this. Hopefully we find thuh others soon," he remarked, still speaking in a bit of an undertone.

"Well now, to be honest I didn’t hit it until… after a few shots." Sebastian corrected, not wanting to give Jay the wrong impression. He would’ve been incredibly proud if he had just started hitting it from the get go but that wasn’t quite how it’d gone down. At the inquiry on the force it took, Sebastian chuckled at Jay’s comment, an eyebrow quirking a bit. "Really? Scrawny? That’s not very nice." Not that Sebastian could really talk; he was a tall and lanky sonuvabitch himself with about as much muscle as a Magikarp. Course that was just looks; he had a fair amount of strength from his work despite his appearance let on.
"Well it’s about as tall as you are, the bow that is, so you’ve got to keep that steady while also having enough strength to completely pull back the drawstring." He remarked thoughtfully, recalling the things the instructor had explained to him. It was easier said than done, he’d come to discover; it was more likely to flip the bow into your face than keep it steady. He grinned a little when Jay took his compliment on his own shoot, noting the bit of a modest attitude he took on in the process. It was rather amusing to see the cowboy modest about something like that; he seemed that rather certain type most the time. "Well then good job to you too, Zoey." He mentioned to the Zubat as well with a smile. At the mention of accents, Sebastian gave a laugh. "Ah, I suppose I can’t huh? Nah, he was just very… baritone if you will. You know, those people who have such a deep tone it just kind of… muddles together." That was the best way he could describe it without probably getting into rude territory. If he wanted to be blunt, he would’ve just stated the man sounded like he had a mouth full of food that he couldn’t bother to swallow or something.
Sebastian just smiled and let loose another nod. "Of course! No problem." He replied as he waited a moment for Jay to get himself situated. "It’s fine, don’t worry about it." Sebastian certainly had no problem helping Jay with something like this after all, though he felt a bit bad the man seemed uncomfortable asking. Of course he supposed to degree that made sense. Sometimes, stuff happened. "All set?" He inquired and once the give go was given he started walking, doing his best to maneuver the pair of them so they didn’t bump into anyone. As they went along, Sebastian perked up a bit as the lotto announcements went off, blinking a bit in surprise as he heard his own name called.
"Oh, I think I won something." He remarked, a little surprised to hear the fact. That was a bit exciting! He’d have to check in on what he’d won once the pokemon, though for now he focused on getting to the game booths and searching. It took a little bit but eventually he spotted some recognizable fluff, a bone wearing pokemon and a yellow rat on the backs of a Houndoom and twitching Mightyena. "Spade! Blackjack!" He called, catching the pair’s attention and then the others. Soon they were shuffling their way back over to their trainer. Sebastian noted that he didn’t seem Rummy or Deuce, a bit of an uneasy feeling in his gut that he shook off as he checked his team, retrieving the sack of coins from Gin. Wow this thing was… heavy. They’d certainly gotten in a lot of game play.
"Hm…," Sebastian murmured, weighing it a moment before glancing over his shoulder back at Jay and then around. "Any of you seen Jay’s pokemon?" He inquired curiously of his own team, figuring they might’ve noticed the others at some point.

Her return to the sparring area was met with some bad news. Avikna had taken a b-line straight for the sparring rings, only to find Ajicka nowhere in sight. Gripping the wooden fence, her gaze narrowed. "Damn it." She snapped. "Ugg, just my luck!" The red-head was obviously furious at this turn of events, but a saving grace came in the form of an unknown voice. Mave was first to intercept it, gazing around with her ears turning ever which way. She gave up on finding where the voice was coming from and instead let it channel through to Avikna.
'She will return.'
The voice caught Avikna off guard. She froze for a moment, only her head turned to look down at Mave. The wolf arched her head to the side, a confused look on her face. 'Don't look at me. I don't know where the voice came from, or from who.. but I assume it means Ajicka.' The wolf replied. Avikna let out a sigh, before pushed off from the fence. "Then let's just play some more games to pass the time." Adjusting the egg in her arms, she made her way to the first set of games, though her mind wasn't entirely willing to cooperate, landing them a pretty small supply of tokens.

As she ventured through the games, Avikna eventually came across the male who'd made her the armour she was currently wearing. He mentioned off hand that he'd hold onto it for her if she didn't have any means to carry it with her on her travels. The armour was heavy and specially made to fit her body, while other woman might share Avikna's figure and fit, it did make sense that she should leave it behind, rather than lug it around with her. Thinking on it a bit more, the red-head decided that she actually should just take the armour off now. She could always come back and change once more if Ajicka showed up again.
Afterwards she returned to play some more games. Feeling a bit lighter on her feet and with a bit more mobility on her arms, she managed to shatter three platters, earning her the top prize. Their grand total for the last two games wasn't any better than the first two, but it was something. Slowly but surely she was getting to her goal, and she'd be able to purchase the stone she wanted... if they even had it.

The last two games really weren't to much on the way of skill. At least not by the bystanders point. Collecting her earnings for both game regardless, the red-head ventured off to watch a few sparring matches. Though she quickly grew bored. Her appetite for excitement was quickly satiated when a younger sound girl shouted out for help. Avikna wasn't really the "White-knight" type of person, but of the many, many things that made Avikna pissed off, stealing someone's Pokemon was one of them. She'd been entirely to enthrawled in the jousting matches to of heard the speech made by one of Team Plasma's sages, so she was unaware of just what these people were doing. All she knew was this little girl, barely in her tweens was crying and calling for help because some asshat decided to 'liberate' her Pokemon.
"Give it back to her." Avikna stated to the male, who'd stopped to have a chat on his Xtransiever. With who, she wasn't sure, and she didn't care. He turned back to face her, almost about to look away he took a double take and spun around. "W-what kind of Pokemon is that?" He shouted, pointing a finger towards Mave. The wolf, keen to the males sudden fear, only made it worse as she stood up on her hind legs, towering over the male. "I'm not going to repeat myself." Avikna added, her arms folded over her chest. The man darted his eyes between Avikna and Mave several times before they narrowed, and he began to step back. "D-don't think you can order me around. That thing looks strong, but I bet that's all it is..." Avikna narrowed her gaze. "You want to test that theory." Avikna snapped. Mave stepped forward, and that's all she needed to do before the male turned tail and ran, tossing the girl's ball into the air, shouting something inaudible as he ran away.
Returning the girl's ball, Avikna wasn't entirely the most kind person to the little trainer "Take better care of your Pokemon. Thugs like him are everywhere around here. If you can't take care of your Pokemon properly you don't deserve to be trainer." Her words sounded harsh, even to the red-head, but she couldn't really reverse time and try it again. The girl however nodded, her sobbing continuing. "Th-thank you.." She sniffled. "I- I will take better care of him." Looking up at Avikna, the girl reached into her bag, and eagerly pulled out a candy and a blue device simular to the one Avikna's grandfather had given her. "Take these as thanks." Avikna wasn't really to sure about taking the prizes, but well.. she wasn't against it either. With a roll of her eyes and a sigh she snatched the items up and watched as the girl ran away.
It wasn't going to be long before Avikna's leisure time was once more interrupted.

Jay smirked. "Well ah would assume so, otherwise ahm perty sure ah'd be hearin' 'bout yew bein' a prodigy by now," he remarked playfully, "But still, s'perty good, 'specially fer yer first time shootin' anythin', let alone uh long bow." He smiled a bit when Sebastian commented on the adjective. "Don' mean much ta me, honestly," he remarked absently, "Rather be 'scrawny' than carryin' so much muscle ahm too heavy fer uh tauros too carry." He wasn't a heavy rider.... but he liked to ride. And he liked that if he had to dodge, he didn't exactly have a lot of mass he had to move. He was pretty comfortable with how he was, for the most part.
Jay listened, but raised his eyebrows a bit as Sebastian explained. "Sounds uh bit complicated. Didja have ta use yer foot to help keep it in place? 'R didja just need ta hold it in just the right spot?" he queried. Clearly, he wasn't joking when he said he was curious. He smiled as his friend congratulated his bat, as well, who gave a little squeak of appreciation in return, and nodded to Sebastian's explanation. "Mm, think ah know what yer talkin' 'bout..." Probably. He got the general gist of it. It was a bit harder to hear lower tones, and if they weren't annunciating clearly, that would make it even more difficult. By that point, though, he was a little distracted by his own conundrum of maneuvering, and ultimately had to ask for help. After another mutter of thanks, though, he sort of dropped off, only humming in confirmation to let Sebastian know he could start walking. He obviously still felt a bit uncomfortable about it. It was very... dependent, and while he was used to leaning or holding onto his pokemon, doing so with his friend felt... substantially more awkward.
"Oh yeah, think ah heard that... TMs 'r somethin', right?" he asked distractedly. He lifted his head up when Sebastian suddenly called to his pokemon, shifting a little closer, and following along with him. He turned his head to try and catch any response from the pokemon, but straightened as a telepathic voice reached out to each of them. 'I can find them.' It was Ralts, shuffling out from between a few stands with Quena darting out behind. In a flash she crossed the distance and darted up Jay's pants leg and shirt, startlign him a bit, but, clearly recognized once she had settled into his breast pocket. 'I was just with Mimey and the others. Quena had found some items to help them battling... Do you want me to pull them from that?' he asked. Jay frowned a bit. "Uh... No, ah think that's alright fer now. Mostly need ta find Golett 'n thuh others. Wanna check how many coins we've got," he explained. Ralts nodded, then, apparently on reflection, added. 'Got it. I'll go find them and bring them back. I'll see if I can count how many coins they've got. Do you remember how many you had from Mimey's go?'"Think it wus about uh hundred 'r so, after everythin'," he answered. Ralts gave another nod, paused, then shuffled off, quickly disappearing amongst the crowd. Quena huffed a bit, and Jay gave her a gentle pat.
"Ah don' hear Tria, by thuh way... ahm guessin' Deuce 'n Rummy ain't here neither?" Jay added, turning his attention towards Sebastian. He... highly doubted the Leafeon could stay this quiet this long, after all.

"I don’t know if that’d make me a prodigy… a good aimer though probably." Sebastian laughed, grinning a bit at the thought. "But thank you." He tilted his head a bit in thought, nodding a little. "I suppose that’s a good point, though I always thought Tauros were really strong and could carry a lot." He remarked thoughtfully, tapping his chin as he did. "I guess I wouldn’t need to worry either then huh? I’ve been called a string bean a few times in my life." He joked, shaking his head. It’d never bothered him; he probably got more hair comments than build comments anyways. Now that was always kind of humorous.
"No actually, you’ve got to hold it up just like you would a regular bow." He replied, thinking some more about it. "Honestly, as long as it is, it’s not that heavy to lift. It’s just a matter of figuring how to stay steady and have enough force to pull the drawstring back." At least that was what his problem had been. The bow and flopped from side to side at times which of course messed up his firing in the process. Once he’d figured out how to stay steady, it became easier. He grinned a little again. "You should give it a go. I bet you’d be good at it." That was the cool thing about the ranges he thought; it was just about focus. He could kind of do that. He chuckled when Jay seemed to understand his dilemma concerning the instructor.
Trying to take the focus off the bit of dependent awkwardness, Sebastian nodded and focused on the talk of the lotto stuff. "I think so, which is pretty meat. I’ve never won anything before." He tilted his head a bit in thought. "Do you think they’ve got every TM in existence too? You think it’s hard to collect that many?" He had a bunch of TMs himself but he couldn’t imagine the dozens upon dozens more that existed out there. Pokemon could just… learn so much couldn’t they? Sebastian felt Jay jump a bit, looking back and frowning a bit before noticing the Ralts and the Dedenne now occupying the cowboy’s vest pocket. Ah okay then. He waited patiently as Jay seemed to give instructions, fumbling a bit with his own coin case in thought. It was probably a good idea to get a count as well…
"Ah… no. They’re not." Sebastian murmured, looking around a bit. To be fair, they’d gone off as their own little group apart from his first team so… it wasn’t all that surprising they weren’t with them. He just wasn’t sure where they’d gone was all, which was really his concern. "I’m… sure they’re okay, right? I haven’t seen and laser beams at least…"
