It took awhile for the heart in Hypnos' chest to stop pounding as hard as it did. How could it not? Sailor Ixion had kissed her! Her fingertips lingered over her lips as she looked at the phone in her other hand. He didn't just kiss her, he stole her first kiss! She didn't know what to do and she didn't know how to feel. She thought they were just friends but what did this all mean? She knew Ixion liked her but he like liked her? Did she like like him? Icy blue eyes filled with confusion over it as she began pressing buttons on her phone until the right contact came up.
Under her contacts, Hypnos scrolled down to the C section. Just under Bellatrix and just above Cora was the contact Columba. Her eyes looked between the three of them with hesitation for a second. She needed to talk to someone and between the three of them there was one person she would want to tell. Sure, Bellatrix was older and experienced but she was also her sister and Hypnos wasn't ready to spill her guts over something so embarrassing to her. Bellatrix wouldn't understand! Cora definitely wouldn't understand. Columba probably knew exactly what to do!
Fingers moving with an unsteady hand from the nervous jittering, Hypnos took a lot longer to type such a short sentence than it normally would. After finishing, she looked at the sentence for another minute with more hesitation. Should she send it? Would this solve anything? Her heart beat nervously in her chest as it reminded her of the events that had just occurred. Summoning all her strength, Hypnos pressed send.

Hypnos stared at the screen, direly waiting for a reply. Time seemed to pass by so slowly and soon enough she switched out of the texting screen to check what time it was. She couldn't believe it! What felt like an hour had only been several minutes! It felt like it was so much longer! It seemed like forever! It hadn't been long at all, although the quiver in her touch as her hand fell over her chest told another story. It might not have been a long time but it was long enough for her to begin thinking about Ixion lying on the grass just yonder and kissing her.
A soft blush fell over her face. Hands raising from her chest to her face and quickly she began to shake her head as if she could shake the thoughts right out of there. It was impossible! The harder she shook, the more she thought about the events that had occurred. Why would he... why did he... what did it mean? Her eyes focused on the spot in the grass where the two of them had been and she closed her eyes tight. It had only been a couple seconds after that she opened them, sensing a power signature nearby.
Worried, Hypnos got up off the grass and migrated to a location more hidden and definitely not in view of the spot he kissed her at. It was totally a precaution though. It definitely was not simply to escape what had happened. How could she ever hope to escape it? Her heart reminded her with every beat.
She paced back and forth with the phone in hand as she waited, pleading with it for a message to appear until finally Columba replied.

Hypnos read the message.
Hypnos read the message again.
Immediately Hypnos' fingers released their hold on the phone and it fell to the ground as she fell back against a tree, her arms hugging against her chest. Her slightly red face from earlier was full on cherry as she relived Ixion's kiss over and over in her mind. Her eyes stared at the screen that glowed softly on the grass by her feet before it dimmed and then lit up again to signify another message had arrived.
She was staring at the screen but she wasn't reading the words that spread across it. No, Hypnos was back in time to the earlier events of this night. The kiss. She could not escape it and neither could she Columba's question. Is that what he wanted to do? Did he... would he...? Hypnos immediately thought back to the events and found herself practically spinning. His tongue? Would he? What would he do with it? In her mouth? Oh dear! Hypnos felt like her face was burning as another message flashed across the screen.

She cried out softly as her knees felt weak, causing her feet to lose their footing. Her back began to slide down the surface of the tree until she hit the ground with a light thump. It didn't hurt but she couldn't stop herself from crying. Did this all mean Ixion wasn't her friend anymore? She didn't want that! Did this mean she and Ixion were dating? She wasn't ready for that! She didn't even know if she like liked him yet! Why did this have to be so confusing? What if the next time they met he wanted to use tongue?! Hypnos face cried out all new shades of red until she finally just laid on the grass beside the phone.

Phone in reach now, Hypnos slowly moved her hand over to it and slid it across the grass until it was close enough that she could read the screen. There were a couple of unread messages there and they were all from Columba. Given the first message she had read, Hypnos was almost worried about what the new ones said. She hesitated, fearing the worst. What if they were even worse than the first one? She couldn't just ignore them though. Giving into her morals through her embarrassment, Hypnos read the last messages.
"Goodnight."

Ainsley sat at the kitchen table with a forlorn expression over her delicate features. She shifted uneasily, her icy blue eyes lowering as her hands squeezed the hem of her skirt and released it repeatedly. She took a deep breath and then with a lingering hesitation she raised her hands off her lap to reach for her fork before she withdrew again. It was difficult! She had almost cleared her plate but sitting there on the side, shuffled about the plate several times already, was a couple slices of bacon. If this had been a week ago she would have eaten it without question but now all she could think about was the pig it used to be.
It had a beating heart just like her and it breathed air just like her. It had been alive just like she was. How could she just eat it? How could she go back on everything she fought for? She tried so hard to get others to believe in her, to believe in what she fought for but at the bottom of things did she believe in it? Was she willing to go the extra mile? Her eyes seemed to glaze over as she looked at the bacon, pushing it back and forth on her plate a couple more times as if she'd suddenly be willing to eat it.
No. With a sigh Ainsley pushed the plate away from her and set the fork down.
"I'm full. Thank you for breakfast." She said this politely as she pulled away from her seat at the table. "Please excuse me."
As Ainsley left the table and reached the hallway all she could think about was that pig. Her head turned to the left and she seen her backpack but instead of her normal backpack she seen the face of a pig. Startled, Ainsley looked to the floor and spotted her shoes. Again, instead of her shoes she seen pig's feet. Her hands flew up into the air as she let out a squeak, her hands falling down to cover her mouth. The things the youma Bazzite had said to her the night before had a lot of effect on the child, causing her stomach to churn as her thoughts spun. What was she going to do? It hurt to think about it.
With an unease, Ainsley's back fell against the wall as she slid down to the floor. Her eyes gazed over the floor with care as she slowly found where her shoes rested. Her vision appeared to be normal again because instead of the pig's feet she seen before, this time they were just her normal Mary Janes. With a sigh of relief, Ainsley's arms reached over and picked them up and slipped them onto her feet.
Things would be better once she got to school. It was the first day back, after all!

The morning hadn't been going too smoothly for Ainsley. Breakfast had been churning in her stomach as much as the thoughts about it churned through her mind. The walk to school had been fairly soothing though, allowing her stomach and mind to calm down. By the time she arrived at the school gates, Ainsley was certain today was going to be a great day.
Even though she arrived a bit early because of how quickly she rushed out of her house this morning, she wasn't the first person in the classroom. Joining her as she entered was two boys, and already inside the classroom was four girls and one boy. She recognized two of the girls and one of the boys from the year before but the other two girls and boys were new. Going over to the group of girls, Ainsley joined in their conversation about the summer and new fall line.
Everything was going fine. The last of the students wandered into the classroom and with it the bell signaled the teacher's arrival. Ainsley took her seat next to the window, up at the front near one of the girls from before. Directly behind them were the two of the other girls and then behind them were the two boys who walked in with Ainsley. Eyes focused on the teacher and instead of behind her, Ainsley was content with the morning finally. If she had turned around, she would have seen the boys looking at them.
It had been a simple morning to be honest but the first day usually was. They did some ice breakers to get the class used to the new teacher and classmates, talked about what they did over the summer, went over the syllabus and then eventually it was lunch time. She had been dreading the moment lunch came, her fear of the unknown that was the contents of her lunch looming in the distant place inside her backpack.
There was a sandwich, an apple and some baby carrots. Ainsley prayed that the sandwich was a Nutella sandwich but instead of what she hoped for she got what she feared. It was a ham and cheese sandwich and upon realization, a horrified expression fell across her face that slowly melted into sorrow. Another! Another pig! She couldn't even look at it, and touching it made her stomach churn. She did what she could by using her apple to push it back into her lunch bag.
The rest of the day went by fast and before Ainsley knew it the end of the day was there. She gathered her stuff up and prepared to leave. She didn't leave immediately, and instead she lingered back in the class to ask the teacher a few questions about the syllabus and curriculum. They were fairly brief and eventually she was leaving the school.
After a long day, she was more than ready to go home but as she left the building she heard her name. She looked around her but she couldn't see anyone. However, near the side of the building several of the boys from her class were talking. As she listened, she could heard other names of girls being spoken of. The subject the boys were discussing made Ainsley's hands raise over her chest and her face flush a deep red. They were talking about that? Not just talking about it but comparing them!
Ainsley ranked among the lowest. She put a lot of effort into her appearance but in the end she was simply being judged by the size of her chest! Prior to this, she never really thought about her body in the eyes of others. However, her head definitely lowered upon hearing what the boys were talking about. She drew back and began to walk away. She lingered a bit, her feet shuffling against the pavement before finally she began to head home.
It wasn't true, was it? Her hands pulled against the fabric of her blouse and she sighed. There was absolutely nothing there! Walking home, she couldn't help but notice her classmates. Most of her classmates were in bras now. Did they really grow that much over the summer or was she just so far behind? She frowned, her eyes staring at her feet while her arms held close to her chest. She didn't want anyone to see! Was she not normal? She shook her head, running the rest of the way home before anyone else seen her.

After a long day of school and emotional struggles, Ainsley simply went up to her bedroom upon getting home. She didn't need to worry about doing homework and she didn't have any plans so she simply took a nap in the chair by the window under the warm late afternoon sun. Curled up and her torso hidden under a blanket, the twelve year old remained there until dinner time.
Ainsley was feeling better after a chance to rest so she brushed her hair and rubbed her hands down the fabric of her skirt before she went downstairs to meet her sister for dinner. Bell wasn't much of a cook (unless you included what safely was made in the microwave) so it wasn't entirely strange for Ainsley to see a pizza box sitting on the kitchen table. Bell told her to help herself before she disappeared into another room, leaving Ainsley to stare at the box. What awaited Ainsley inside was no surprise given Bell wasn't much of a vegetable person.
An empty plate in her hand, Ainsley pulled a slice of pizza onto it and covered the box with scorn and regret. She thought things would be better after her nap but she felt worse than she had at breakfast. She didn't want to tarnish her sister's good intentions so she would just pick at the pizza and remove the meat. There were still plenty of things on it to eat like the pizza crust, tomato sauce and cheese. It was fine, right? Maybe she should tell Bell. She didn't want to waste food, especially when it came at the cost of a life.
"I..." she began to speak before she changed her mind. There was no reason to alarm her sister. "I'm going to eat in my room."
It wasn't very appetizing by the time Ainsley peeled off the meat. What was left was a triangle piece of dough with some sauce on it. On the side was some cheese that she had peeled meat out of. It was fine. Everything was fine. She ate the unsavory pizza slice and then took the dishes back downstairs. Maybe Cora would like it? She didn't want to waste it so she put it in Cora's dish before rinsing her plate off and putting it in the dishwasher.
Her stomach growled and her eyes fell toward the pizza box on the table again. The smell of the pizza was strong and eventually Ainsley decided that just a bite would be fine, right? It was good. She took a bite after bit of it until she'd eaten the whole slice. Eyes of guilt looked at her hands and soon she found herself rushing to the bathroom to wash them. However, by the time she got to the bathroom she wasn't there to was her hands. The guilt was too much and before Ainsley knew it both slices of pizza were in the toilet. One hand held her hair and the other held her stomach as she looked at herself in the mirror.
Immediately she looked away, hiding herself out of the mirror's view as she washed her face off. It didn't matter how many times she splashed the water onto her face because she couldn't wash the guilt off her face and the expression reflecting off the mirror told her everything she needed to know. This wasn't going to go away. However, she needed to get away from the house for a bit. Leaving the bathroom, Ainsley went back downstairs and put her shoes on. If Ainsley wasn't safe at home or safe at school then where was she safe at? It was ironic but powering up as Hypnos seemed like it would solve her problems.

Ainsley was excited for the first time in a week since school began. Day after day after day, Ainsley's self esteem fell further and further. Night after night, Ainsley would look at herself in the mirror and wished her body was different. She wanted to be like the other girls in her class so bad that all Ainsley would do when she got home was talk about how all the girls in her class were almost all wearing bras until eventually Bell suggested she do the same. If she was worried about her chest being notably smaller than the other girls then she could just get herself a push up bra! It was an idea that made Ainsley's day and she readily agreed.
Simply being satisfied with what she had was too hard when she had other options to explore! Ainsley was eager to solve the problem with alternative means. In part that may have been why she was so excited but getting your first bra was a big step for a young lady and by making this step Ainsley felt like she was finally going to be seen as an adult. As such Ainsley wanted Bell to let her to do it all on her own and insisted Bell wait outside for her. Where Bell went after she left Ainsley's view was a mystery but Ainsley soon found herself wishing Bell was there when she managed to really get a good look at her environment.
It was foreign, and there were so many shapes and sizes! Ainsley was a little overwhelmed by it, looking back to the door where she hoped Bell was. She was the one who insisted on doing this alone though and while she crumpled the hem of her skirt with anxiety Ainsley began to wander around the store alone. She may not have known where to begin but she was more than capable of moving her legs to walk, using her eyes to see and using her hands to touch.
She wandered by the stacks in shelves, her hands brushing against everything as she passed by. This bra cup was bigger than her head! No one in her class had a chest to this magnitude and Ainsley only stopped to consider it for a moment. It was a brief, glory filled moment before reality came back and she felt embarrassed by her imagination. Could you imagine though? COULD YOU IMAGINE? Ainsley's face burned a light red before she quietly stepped away the section she was in.
Pressing her back straight against a wall closer to the changing rooms than the door as her hands crumpled the hem of her skirt again, Ainsley became lost in thought. She didn't know what she was doing or what to look for and that expression of lost hope was clearly displayed on her face as one of the employees walked up to the teenager with an almost sympathetic expression.
"Can I help you?" She asked in a friendly tone as she made the final approach toward her.
Upon being questioned, Ainsley's icy eyes darted toward the employee and then away again to settle down on her own feet. It had been a short glance but Ainsley was able to determine that the woman was roughly around her early 20s, had short blue hair and a fair complexion. In the short look Ainsley took, she was unable to determine any other points and was only able to determine the woman had glasses when she looked up for a second time.
She smiled softly, a hue over her complexion thanks to her embarrassment, as she Waved the woman closer. Ainsley waited for her to get within a foot of her before she waved her down closer to ear level. There Ainsley leaned up and whispered something into the employee's ear. Hearing what the girl had to say, the woman's smile softened gently before she absolutely beamed.
"Oh! I can definitely help you with that."

The embarrassment was beyond words.
Ainsley had done everything she sought out to do but in the end the plan hadn't been foolproof. What began as what she believed to be an opportunity to fit in and feel welcomed immediately became feed for the wolves otherwise known as Ainsley's preteen classmates. The sudden difference was too noticeable. Ainsley didn't want this. She wanted to fit in with the other girls, not stand out! She had gone bra shopping and maybe she had gotten carried away with her body image.
It was too late to correct though.
Whether the girls in her class really had a chest that fit their bra size or not, they had all picked the appropriate time to make a change. Three months of summer was far superior to a two day weekend. The difference was too much too suddenly. Breasts didn't grow overnight like that and suddenly Ainsley realized the error she'd made in her dire attempt to fit in. It echoed through her mind with the boy's cruel words until homeroom's bell rang and the students were forced to scurry into their feet with the teacher's appearance.
If only that's where the day's horrors would end.
What Ainsley believed to be a peaceful time as the teacher lectured soon became a silent onslaught of teasing. It was a simple tactic and some of the girls in the class joined in with the boys, passing a note across the room until it reached Ainsley. She probably shouldn't have oepned it, and after she did she immediately regretted her decision in doing so.
r u sure ur not a boy?
The words echoed through her mind as she spun her head around to look at the boys who were trying not to laugh out loud. With a red face she immediately turned back around and lowered her head down with hurt feelings and embarrassment, her arms crossed over her chest defensively. She wasn't going to take their notes anymore! If she didn't take them and she didn't read them then they couldn't hurt her like this, right? Sort of. They decided that if she would refuse to take their ridicule then they would throw it at her. The notes they'd written were crumpled into balls and throw at the back of her head.
Closing her eyes, Ainsley pretended she was somewhere else.
She begged for recess and when it finally arrived she slipped out of the classroom before anyone had a chance to stop her. She felt better with that break and when she returned at the end of recess with a soft smile and sat back at her desk her face immediately dropped. There was something sticky all over her chair! Startled, her immediately hands pressed against the top of her desk only to discover that the surface was also covered in something sticky. Honey... maybe... but Ainsley was less concerned with what it was and how quick she could get it off.
After recess she begged for lunch but lunch had brought surprises with it. Her vegetarian lunch had been switched with another student's ham and cheese sandwich. Unsure of where this food came from and unable to eat the meat without throwing it back up with horror and disgust, Ainsley simply pushed it in front of her and walked back to class, hoping that lunch would end and allow her to be one step closer to the end of the school day.
Ainsley had revealed her insecurities to the wolves and they had been relentless. By the end of the day Ainsley felt exhausted but when the bell rang she had no choice but to get out of her chair, grab her stuff and leave as fast she possibly could. She didn't want to linger in the class, she didn't want to linger in the school and she wanted to get as far away as she possibly could before anything else happened.
