Cadet Cypher
Action: Responding to Andreyia's message via com tech and joining the Vanguard in the exit RP

With a weapon only capable of stunning, Cypher was unsure what action he would take against the Kosopods. While unwanted in the museum, he knew their nature was not malicious and were useful in certain applications. Personally, he had very few dealings with the creatures but was aware that the shells they shed have been used before in repairing ship, which could be useful to the commodore.

But Almadal wanted them exterminated as this nest that had found its way into his museum was unwelcome and if the goal was to get on his good side, then wouldn’t it be advantageous to follow his request?

Such a conundrum.

He had no sooner started scanning the crowd when another message was received through his ComTech device. This one from Commander Andreiya which he read through briefly. Saving them would be ideal, but the thought of bringing them to Earth, for some reason, made him feel uneasy. Was it worth the risk of an infestation on a world not their own and without the inhabitant's permission?

Not really for him to say but on Velencya they were equipped with tools, technology, and equipment suitable for handling the Kosopods; Earth… perhaps not so much. Still, a collective plan had been formed and as a Cadet his only responsibility was to follow orders.

Looking up from his device, he spotted Andreya among a group of other Vanguards waving in his direction to which Cypher nodded. Though his expression remained neutral, not giving away his thoughts on the matter, it was perhaps the most friendly gesture he could manage given how uncomfortable he felt around so many Negaverse Agents, White Moon Senshi, and Knights gathered in one place.

Surely the temporary truce while they collectively took care of Almadal’s problem would end in a battle among opposing factions, something he felt was an inevitability in the same way it seemed like the air around him felt prickly, like the moments before a storm.

After they’d been teleported to the Museum, Cypher began weaving his way through the groups of Agents and Senshi over to where Andreiya and the rest of the group were branching off when the lights suddenly turned off. It took a moment for his eyes to adjust to the low-light that still remained but was eventually able to meet up with everyone else.

Hopefully, the Commander would be willing to explain how they hoped to execute the plan on capturing the Kosopods since, to his knowledge, they didn’t have any containers to hold them in.

Corrupt Ilmari of Chastity.
Action: Noticing Vesuvianite and waving him over to join the rest of the team. For his investigation roll, trying to use his tablet to illuminate the floor and see what might or might not be skittering around them.

Eternal Fafnir was someone Ilmari only recognized by reputation; they hadn’t met before tonight. Regardless, he was making a positive impression. The older senshi seemed confident and in control, both of himself and of the situations around him. He seemed to have a good head on his shoulders, and he had good ideas. Although Ilmari didn’t quite know who to pair off with, the idea of everyone within the team getting a buddy so nobody had to walk alone and everyone could watch each other’s backs? That sounded like the smartest approach to this situation.

As he was thinking about possible pairings and which one he might like the best, Ilmari noticed someone else, a little ways across the room. He didn’t know Lieutenant Vesuvianite very well, but they’d met while turning in energy orbs and they were meant to be teammates. For a moment, Ilmari hesitated. Making any kind of spectacle of himself struck him as gauche and incredibly tacky, middle-class behavior at best—but on the other hand, letting a fellow Negaverse operative go off on his own because no one had called out to him? Seemed like it would have directly gone against several of the things Ilmari had read in the training manual.

“Vesuvianite, over here!” Ilmari didn’t really like putting a hand in the air and waving it as if he were some grade-grabber at Meadowview, trying to get one of their underpaid and ill-prepared teachers’ attention. Still, better a moment of embarrassing public behavior than letting Vesuvianite go alone and get himself hurt.

“Boss,” Ilmari added to Albite, “keeping with Eternal Fafnir’s idea of pairing up in order to better watch out for each other, I’d like to volunteer as Lieutenant Vesuvianite’s partner? If that’s alright with the senior officers here?”

In the meantime, the skittering all around them was starting to grate his nerves. Starting to make Ilmari itch from not doing anything about it. Wrinkling his nose, he tilted his tablet toward the floor. He didn’t know if the holographic screen could actually illuminate anything enough to make a difference, but getting a better assessment of the situation could maybe help them decide what to do.

Meissa, Super Corrupt of Bobcats
Action: Sticking close to Beatrix and Chrysocolla, observing the crowd

At least the idea of observing the crowd was more to Meissa's liking the acting as a bug exterminator. Her motions were smooth as she withdrew the pen she had received just days before and activated the device to have the screen format ready to take notes. Even as Beatrix activated some sort of armor for herself did Meissa slink to place the tablet on a crate that seemed unoccupied before silently scanning the room. There were still a lot of people to observe in the main room but it seemed like most of the similarily dressed, no aura'ed, individuals had left. There was also the question of where had their host actually gone?

Looking to Beatrix Meissa slid down behind the crate in order to start writing down her observations. She'd play out of sight and be the silent observer.

Captain Akaganeite
Currently: Agreeing to team up with Andesine; exiting stage new storage room!

Aquamarine's command to stay close was met with a short nod.

"As you say, General," she said, simply. To split off alone when there were so many on the other side around--risky. A little nerve-wracking, as a possibility, though Akaganeite was very good at not letting her nerves show on her face. It was also imprudent--setting oneself up for an ambush was perhaps the stupidest thing one could do in what was clearly enemy territory, no matter what Almadel said. He'd assured them they were all welcome, as it were, but he'd also flittered off to deal with...whatever he was dealing with.

A slightly irritated huff passed her lips, and she ran a thumb over the hilt of her sword. Honestly, Jet's idea of chasing the man down and making him do some of his own dirty work wasn't unappealing, although it was probably pointless. He gave her the vibe of someone...thoroughly slippery, which meant that he was useless except for what he could provide, and heavy-handed methods would likely shut down the avenue of cooperation to acquire whatever strange secrets he might have.

Andesine got a short nod, and an almost smile. She was cute, and clearly energetic and interested in her duties to the Negaverse--a good person to have around, and whoever her General was, they likely had an eye for talent. A positive.

"I'll explore with Captain Andesine, General," she said. It was a chance to discover more, while still ensuring she was working in a pair and thus they were both less vulnerable to being picked off by the enemy. "We can ensure the mission is completed more efficiently, with less risk of hostile interference."

Two Captains, after all, should be able to handle most threats, unless something much, much worse reared its head. Like one of these idiots spreading Princess wings and deciding to make the whole thing everyone's problem.

...Truth be told, being in a side room sounded like a good way to avoid that kind of nonsense, too.

She turned her attention to Andesine, giving another short nod.

"Let's go, Captain. And keep an eye behind us; best to ensure we aren't followed by anyone we don't want following us."

Perhaps it was paranoid to worry. Akaganeite didn't care. Better to be prepared.

DSS Corvina of Windflowers
Action: Glaring at Dunnottar, fretting at Lanting, rubbing his own hands all over the fossil case while telling Lanting not to do that exact same thing.

As displeased as he was with the presence of Chaos-tainted trash, Corvina did feel reassured somewhat by Lanting pressing closer to him. It was a deeply unbecoming way to feel, when Corvina was the more experienced warrior, who ought to be protecting Lanting. But nevertheless, part of him wriggled in guilty delight over feeling like he was special enough for Lanting to want to protect him. Nobody had done that for Corvina since Alys and Varamyr, and neither of them had been quite what Lanting was to Corvina. His comrades in arms, his most trusted allies, his best friends and closest confidantes, the siblings he’d never had—but neither of them had ever kissed Corvina like Lanting did.

Despite knowing that they had a serious situation to deal with, Corvina allowed himself a few quiet moments to enjoy the feeling of being seen as something worth Lanting’s protection. If he focused on how nice it felt right now, he could almost ignore the fact that all this happiness probably would have gone away all too quickly if Lanting ever changed his mind about Corvina, ever deemed him an insufficient partner, or grew tired of him behaving how he did, or learned of his Murikabushian heritage. (It was one thing to be friendly with that world’s new senshi, and quite another to tolerate such a deficiency in Corvina. If Lanting were ever to send him away over that revelation, it only would have made perfect sense, in Corvina’s mind.)

But while he was quietly enjoying that little moment, Lanting was wandering elsewhere. Corvina noticed his absence quickly and darted over to join him by the fossil case. “Be careful,” he said, snapping more than he liked as he tried to bat Lanting’s hands away from the casing (with a similar and very hypocritical lack of disregard for his own safety or the possibility of any kosopods biting him). “You don’t even have your weapon! If these filthy things dared to hurt you—”

Not that Corvina wasn’t focusing on the kosopod hunt, because he was. But he cut himself off as a quick glance elsewhere drew his eyes to someone whom he wouldn’t have minded making into a kosopod’s meal. Even without knowing what all had transpired between Lanting and this new Dunnottar, Corvina knew that the new Dunnottar had Made Lanting Sad, and the mere thought of that made him glare daggers in the Lysithea wretch’s direction.

“If these filthy things dared to hurt you, I’d stop at nothing to eradicate every single one in the universe,” Corvina told Lanting, pitching his voice up so Dunnottar could hear about his wrong opinions and hopefully feel bad for having rejected Lanting. “You’re too precious to let this trash cause you harm.”

Kaifeng, Squire of Saturn.
Action: looking around, thinking about what Helene said, then noticing MuriElsa and following them into a side-thread.

As much as Kaifeng thought the history contained in Almadel’s museum ought to be preserved, he couldn’t help but dwell on what Helene had said about more humane ways to deal with the kosopods. From the sound of things, they didn’t seem too terrible? Potentially troublesome, given their consumption habits, but it didn’t sound like they were malicious about it or anything. They were just silly lil’ isopod guys who wanted to live and eat as much as anybody else did. Killing them for making a mess and inconveniencing people when they didn’t even understand what they were doing felt cruel, honestly. It felt unnecessarily harsh and more than a little bit unfair.

It reminded Kaifeng of Xingyi-ge, the more he thought about it. Specifically, it reminded him of what Xingyi-ge had once told Huan-ge about the silk moths that he’d raised at Kaifeng. “Silk moths don’t hurt anyone else to survive.… Maybe their lives aren’t the most important ones in the universe but—Huanxi, why should they have to give their lives for our fancy fabric? Shouldn’t they be allowed to have their simple, beautiful dreams?”

“Adding more death and more pain to the balance of energies here, even if most people don’t think that pain matters? I don’t think it sounds helpful.”

Instinctively, Kaifeng reached for one of Helene’s hands and curled both of his around it, lacing their fingers together. It was hardly the best use of their time, not when the lights were flickering, and there was skittering all about, and some of the Order-aligned people here seemed as though they were likely to start some s**t with the Negaverse operatives and Dark Mirror senshi who’d come out to help, instead of meeting them in good faith and giving them the benefit of the doubt that they weren’t trying to Cause Problems On Purpose at event that they ostensibly hadn’t organized.

(Personally, Kaifeng felt it was unlikely that any of the Chaos-aligned folks here tonight had had any hand in any of this. For one thing, it wasn’t the Dark Mirror’s style, as far as he knew. They tended to keep mostly to themselves—sure, Loudmouth Lete-meimei could be troublesome, but she generally left people alone until you actually took issue with her draining so many people; the way that Muri had made things sound, he’d been fairly anomalous among Mirror senshi in actually seeking out other people—so it really didn’t fit for them to have worked with some magical space-dragon-man to set up an ambush. The Negaverse, Kaifeng could theoretically see doing something like that, but even some of the Generals out here tonight seemed pretty confused by how things were going, so in this specific situation, Kaifeng didn’t feel that it was terribly likely for them to have been involved.

And he got it, he did. Chaos made people get jumpy, and for good reason. Given what it could do to people and even to entire worlds, one had to be careful in dealing with it. But at the same time, the people enmeshed in Chaos were just people, and even the worst of them couldn’t do evil things all the time. Even the General-King whom Muri had left the gifts for back in December, he’d done a lot of atrocities by Muri’s own admission but he’d also shown enough of himself to Muri that Muri cared about him as a person. Even if people had to take care around Chaos, why did that have to mean assuming that the only reason Negaverse officers and Dark Mirror senshi would answer Almadel’s call for aid was that they wanted to hurt somebody else?)

“I wonder if there isn’t a way to get this place cleaned up without having to kill the little guys,” Kaifeng said softly, squeezing Helene’s hand and pressing closer to him in a way that had, since Helene’s arrival on Earth, very quickly become Just What Kaifeng Did when he felt upset. “The fact that they aren’t just attacking us outright, even when the dark might give them an advantage? I don’t know, it doesn’t make me feel good about the idea of attacking them. It’s like……”

Kaifeng had started vocally making the comparison without actually knowing where he was going to go with it, and for a moment, he just quietly leaned against Helene. But a good idea came to him pretty quickly: “It’s like what Muri’s been telling me about doing roleplaying game things with his best guy? Like, you might have an encounter set up that seems really good for combat—like, trying to deal with some dragon or necromancer or whoever who’s been causing problems for the locals—but you don’t really need to go into combat about it? Maybe there are ways to handle the situation where you talk things out, or make a deal so the dragon and the locals can peacefully coexist, or talk someone down. Not that the kosopods can really be talked down, but……still? There could maybe be a solution here other than violence?”

Speaking of Muri, though, he sure did make himself easy to spot, being so tall and having such an irrepressible flair about him, even without doing very much. Looking over his way, Kaifeng spotted Muri and his friend who’d come out to Fang’s Chaos clearing adventure—Elsa, Muri had called him—going toward one of the side rooms. Gently, Kaifeng tapped on Helene’s shoulder and pointed over toward Muri and Elsa, and the room they’d gone into.

“Maybe we can find a nonviolent solution in there? Or the tools to create a nonviolent solution, at least?”

Rainier, Squire of Mercury
Action Joining Beira and Surtur for a quick chat and following Beira to a side room.

The tension in Rainier’s shoulders eased when a familiar voice called out to her over the crowd of individuals talking amongst themselves.

It took a moment to spot him once the lights had dimmed, but once the group began to thin as people moved to to investigate other areas, Rainier raised a hand and waved as he weaved his way toward her.

“Surtur!” she replied with an enthusiasm that matched his own.

His manner of speaking had a tendency to bring a smile to her face as it often reminded her of a Shakespearean actor or a performer at a Renaissance festival, full of enthusiasm and fondness for extravagant and wondrous things.

“I am well,” she replied once he was near enough to speak in normal volumes. “Though, I’m not sure I’d call these insects glorious, I will say that Almadal’s museum makes the Smithsonian seem far less grand.”

A moment later they were joined by the third member of their recurring trio. “Beira!” She greeted him warmly. “You’re not interrupting anything, Surtur here was just admiring the Kosopods. They’re a step above the Blight but still just as displeasing if you ask me.” Rainier added with a small shrug.

Although not normally afraid of bugs, it didn’t mean she wanted one crawling on, or near, her either.

“I admit, I do feel more at ease being here knowing you two came as well.” For the number of people she’d met since awakening, both Beira and Surtur were the two she trusted most to have her back. “You know I’ll join you, just lead the way.”

Deep Space Super Sailor Helene
Currently: Exiting with Kaifeng to join MuriElsa in a side room~

It weighed on Helene, some, to think that he would not be able to preserve his people's traditions. That he might instead have to compromise, and kill creatures that he would prefer to simply subdue. But trying to discover other methods during an active infestation seemed...risky. And perhaps, in this new era he found himself in, compromise would have to be what he accepted.

No matter how little he liked it.

He inhaled, tensely, though when Kaifeng's hand wrapped around his, some of that tension flowed out of him. They might be surrounded by enemies--but they stood together, shoulder to shoulder, ready to protect each other.

And for a moment, scanning the room, his eyes landed on the cocoon of kosopods.

And he thought of much smaller cocoons. Of little silk moths, raised with such loving care by Xingyi, who wanted so badly to let them live their simple, little dreams.

He wondered, for a moment, if his Kaifeng thought of the same thing. Especially when he posed his question.

"Almadel seems to have resources from quite far and wide," Helene said, voice low. "He may not have exactly the incense my people used--but...perhaps, if we looked thorugh his storage..."

Perhaps they might find something close enough. Perhaps--perhaps--

PErhaos there did not have to be the unnecessary death of so many. Helene could not control what others did; many kosopods would surely die this night. But he could control what he did. What compromises he did or did not make.

So he nodded, thoughtfully. "Alternate solutions. Better ones. Yes, let us see what we can find, with our friends' help."

Carrying on his people's legacy would not always be possible. But in this moment....it felt like perhaps it might be.

Deep Space Eternal Sailor Daedalus
Currently: Investigating something that looks mechanical to him, experiencing extreme delight over all of this

Daedalus had been a bit of a latecomer to the gathering on the hill; initially,h e hadn't planned to come, given that he was still recovering from how badly his health had deteriorated in the weeks leading up to clearing the Chaos on his world, but in the end, he decided that he felt well enough to show up and help out a friend. And Almadel did feel lieka friend--a fellow refugee in the cosmos, and one who'd had Daedalus's precious, beloved multitool, returned to him after so many centuries.

He arrived in time to hear Surtur's suggestion of rounding some kosopods up to bring to his world, and honestly? He couldn't help but feel like it was a good plan, all things considered. Although things were improving--he'd visited twice in the weeks since and found his world slowly looking better each time--there was still plenty of damage.

Magic couldn't fix everything. Not immediately, at least.

He wanted to go see his friend, but when Almadel left to go tend to other areas of the museum, he let himself look around--and while yes, Daedalus understood the kosopods were the main problem and he was absolutely worried aobut those, a glint of what looked like metal caught his attention, and he drifted over to an artifact that looked almost...mechanical.

Oh, if he could only get a good look at it...or even better, get his hands all over it. But he hesitated, in the dimness and out of respect for Almadel's property. He could probably fix anything he broke, but no reason to push it.

Transcended Eternal Sailor Kerberos
Currently: Waving to Ida, investigating some statuary

Turning up to help Almadel was a no-brainer, and while Kerberos had arrived a little late, it was with plenty of time to hear Almadel's explanation--kosopods, those were new--and take a look around the crowd. There were plenty of familiar faces, even though the presence of so much Chaos made something uncomfortable crawl up his spine.

Powerful Chaos, too. Jet was here--a danger worth keeping an eye on, but at a distance. No need to cause problems in such a small area, when it might do more damage to Almadel's precious, ancient treasures.

He spotted Ida, and winked and blew a kiss in her direction, but she looked busy catching up with a gorgeous blonde Kerberos didn't recognize (Chariklo), and he decided the better idea was to avoid disturbing them. So he kept his distance, going to do some investigation on his own.

There were a set of statues that reminded him of some of the art he'd seen on Kwrberos--but that didn't mean much, when Kerberan art seemed like a blend of neo-classical and art nouveau, and he'd seen those things in other places across the universe too.

Still, they caught his eye, and he found himself wandering over, curious about what he might find (or if he might notice any of the floral motifs that seemed to always mark Kerberan...anything. They sure were proud of their asphodel.)

“I’ve almost got it,” Almadel called after a moment of silence from him. It seemed to come from the direction he’d gone off to, although his voice sounded a bit further away and it was impossible to see just where he’d wound up. The lights had darkened again and in the dimness of the room, every flicker made the shadows grow more menacing.

If it weren’t for the very real thread of active Kosopods, it might have even looked as though some of his collection were moving of their own accord.

For a long moment, there was only the echo of many scuttling legs

There was something almost like peace.

And then, pandemonium.

Magnus found the first Kosopod, but it was unlike what Almadel had described. This one–a rarity among its kind, could not hide as well as the others. It was roughly a foot wide–and looked like it was made of pure gold. It looked as though it was debating if it should run or attack. It ran in a small circle and then, as if on a whim, lurched at Magnus. It might be a Kosopod, but this is also undoubtedly a very rare specimen.

At nearly the same time, both General Jet and Sailor Steins found a Kosopod. Also unlike what Almadel had described. This nest had a Queen. Juvenile, thankfully; if she were her full size she might have been able to stretch from one floor of the room to another. This one was only about the size of a bus. Like the Kosopods, she had a hard shell exterior and a soft bottom, but she looked like an enormous centipede.

Jet found a head, and Steins found a tail.

The Queen reared up on her hind legs and thrashed her tail. She shrieked–and Kosopods scattered from their hiding places in all directions. They crawled effortlessly over every obstacle in an attempt to swarm the room.

She was calling them to arms–and she was trying to make an escape.

As she dropped back to the ground, she seemed to have a clear path in mind, straight to the nearest wall. General Jet and Sailor Steins were her first victims, and she flailed her whole body, thrashing at them before barreling past them. The Queen did a poor job of avoiding targets; instead, she tried to run right past them–or over them.

Even as she tried to make her escape, the Kosopods attempted to cover for her. They swarmed in groups of all shapes and sizes. Almadel’s estimate of their sizes had been correct, at least–the Kosopods arrived as small as six inches wide and as large as two feet wide. They appeared in every neutral color, and the darker ones blended in almost seamlessly with the shadows when the lights were dim enough to conceal them.

Quote:
The Kosopods have arrived!

If your character rolled a 1-10, the Queen Kosopod has attempted to run you down on her escape to the wall. You may have had to throw yourself off balance to avoid her, may have been trampled, headbutted, or otherwise bullied out of the way. You have earned the ire of many Kosopods, who may attempt to target you with great vigor. Please keep this in mind as well as the information below!

If you rolled a 1-40 in the previous prompt, an aggressive cluster of Kosopods has approached you. They are angry and hungry! They may attempt to bite at your feet and legs, knock you over, or spit acid on you if you are unlucky. Kosopod saliva is incredibly acidic and can dissolve clothes as well as cause instant skin irritation. If left on the skin for too long, it can and will cause severe burns. These Kosopods want to cause harm. They will be belligerent and difficult to catch and their hostilities make them more persistent and difficult to kill. Their shells are very durable but their underbellies are soft and the shock of a blow there is often enough to stun or kill them. They are weak only to flame, as they cook almost immediately in their shell. They do not seem to have weak points; if you strike them in the eye–of which there appears to be two–they will scurry about undeterred. Kosopods seem to feel no pain; if their legs are damaged they can only wriggle awkwardly. Subtract 1 point from your dice rolls this round; this will affect the current prompt.

If you rolled a 41-70 in the previous prompt, a curious cluster of Kosopods has approached you. They are cautious and pushy! You may sustain damage if you like, or just be otherwise inconvenienced by the Kosopods or other hardships)
2: 75% success (you do not have to fail but you are having some difficulties; this might mean that you are burdened by a large number of Kosopods attacking and have to work harder to meet your goal. You may sustain damage if you like, or just be otherwise inconvenienced by the Kosopods or other hardships)
3: 100% success (you achieve your goal without much hardship; you may choose to be inconvenienced by Kosopods or harmed by them, but you should find yourself proud of what you are able to accomplish)
4: 150% success (Not only do you achieve your goal easily, you are able to work miracles; whatever you are attempting to do this round, you see great success! You can still choose to be inconvenienced or harmed by Kosopods.)

You are free to choose the action that seems most appropriate. You might choose to attack Kosopods or capture Kosopods, or something else if you feel it best suits your character. Your response should reflect the above prompt in some way but your choice in RP is freeform. If you have questions about if something can work/how success would translate, you can reach out to xigglet on Discord or PM The Space Cauldron! If you would like for your character to investigate anything in particular or gain more information about the environment, please feel free to reach out as well! It is possible to find an artifact or relic that is some way important or relevant to your character but you must have permission. If you are interested in finding something, please be prepared to give a physical description and any relevant lore; we can work things out with you. If you are interacting with anything not otherwise discussed OOCly, please bold the section of your post and quote The Space Cauldron so we don’t miss it!

If you have not yet joined the Event but want to participate, please keep in mind that your characters must have arrived with the rest of the group; there can be no late arrivals ICly. OOCly you can still join, but you are also encouraged to consider doing a Side RP; you can still rejoin the ORP for the closing post if you do! If you join the ORP late, or if you missed a previous prompt, please make sure you read the current prompt closely to determine how this will affect your dice this round! You cannot backdate or roll for a post you missed. The next prompt will be in about 48 hours so should go up at ~6PM EST Monday the 24th.

If you are playing a Vanguardian:

While many of the boxes are locked, it is possible to find some that can be emptied out. Some materials seem more durable than others and maybe lined with special materials that were originally designed to protect magical or fragile artifacts. Vanguardians can use their ComTech to scan to find the most durable containers. They can remove artifacts from the boxes and can examine anything they pull out. If they want to find anything unique or possibly worth keeping, please let me know on Discord or PM The Space Cauldron!

Source Stones typically draw out energy slowly but with extreme focus (or panic) it can stun smaller Kosopods for a few moments. Larger ones may be more resilient and will fight against it; it will take the same amount of time (but more effort) to stun a larger Kosopod as it would several smaller ones. Vanguardians may team up to target the same large Kosopod to hasten the process.

Corporal Neryn
Action: Exiting to the Vanguard side thread.

They got the wave and notification, and decided that maybe, maybe they were a little too much in their own head and followed the rest of the Vanguard off to try to salvage some of these poor creatures from death.

[ Neryn Exit, I will fluff this out later ]

Super Sailor Steins

Action: knocked back by the queen's rear - picks up a random object and using it like a bludgeon blindly as a bunch of the kosopods come at her.

Steins had been wondering just slightly from her little group, drawn away by curiosity, and finding more than she expected. The lights had gone, although there was the occasional flickering, and in the dimness the super senshi squinted as she tried to discern what she was looking at. She could hear movement, the tiny scratchy sound of little legs scuttling which sens shivers down her spine. It was so much worse to know the place was infested with the critters, and not be able to see them. Not that seeing them was going to help with this feeling of ick she had. Sure, she dealt with bugs and worms and that sort of thing plenty in the greenhouse and tending to the plants in the courtyard back home, but it wasn't like she was particularly cuddly with the things either.

She took a breath, a moment of peace to help steel herself before - what was that? It was so big, Steins almost thought it was a piece of furniture - a really big piece - until she stepped back. Oh My God. This thing was big, it was long, and she was at the a** end of it.

Steins felt her hair stand on end, another shiver run down her spine as she stumbled back. She was about to stammer out something when the bus-size centepede-like queen reared up and screeched.

'Yeah, Queenie-Thing, me too,' was the thought that ran through her head right before a thrashing tail end headed her way. The senshi tripped over her own feet in an attempt to get out of the way, and still ended up getting whacked.

Falling forwards, she was able to catch herself before falling face first, but had little time to get up before a bunch of smaller, albeit not small enough for her liking when it came to bugs, kosopods came lunging at her, as if the queen's shriek had rallied them to her defense. Steins didn't think her magic would do much for her here, not that she had time to think, instead she grabbed something about the size, shape, and weight of a brick and started swinging blindly as they attacked, biting and spitting.

Yes, she was a damsel, she was in distress, but she was handling this.

For a moment as she sat surrounded by a few twitching legs that had come off kosopods that had gotten away from her assault, as well as a number of bodies, Stiens surveyed her work and took a moment of pride in herself that the thought of calling out to Hierapolis, Cybele, or any of the others that had joined them didn't cross her mind.

Hierapolis, Page of Cybele

Action: Using his height to his advantage, Hierapolis was looking on some of the higher places before all hell broke loose with the queen. Set about 'dusting' the bugs off of the surface in front of him and on to the floor where he is now kicking them like little footballs.

As best as he could with the darkness and flickering of lights, Hierapolis surveyed some of the taller surfaces, using his height to his advantage. he could hear the scratching of little bug legs, but couldn't see anything. Then there was a commotion and the hordes were upon them. He looked for Steins and almost made a dash for her but stopped himself and looked with a bit of a smile as she battered the kosopods with extreme prejudice. His girl could handle herself here, it seemed. He turned back to the surface he'd been inspecting before then, finding it now covered in kosopods - some skittering, others seemingly looking at him with curiousness and caution.

For whatever reason, he couldn't quite bring himself to just....kill them. Instead he almost....'politely' summoned his weapon - a silver antler, and began 'dusting' them off of the surface.

Some skittered away, others seemed to almost take offence by this, and began biting at his feet, one leaping onto his leg. Now, with a little less reluctance to do harm, Hierapolis swiped at the one on his leg, knocking it away where it hit the floor belly up and legs paddling. others at his feet would find themselves getting picked like little living footballs.

Watch out guys - kosopods might be flying your way!

DSS Terebellum of Resonance
Action:
Exiting to her own thread

As the groups began to move about and look into things, Terebellum slipped out of the crowd and towards some of the quieter rooms of the museum. Too many in one place could scare the creatures off, and if she wanted to try to find one or two calm ones to maybe take back to her world...

Not to mention anything here that Almadel might have 'acquired' during the fall of Terebellum...

[ Terebellum Exit, will be fleshed out later ]
