Wandering toward the tree to look at the decorations, someone tossed a green tinsel boa around her neck. She squeaked, but it was cute so she left it there for now. Standing next to the tree, she smiled as a light blue wisp floated down toward her. "Hello little one..." she murmured and reached up to it. "Would you like to stay with me?"

Popping a piece of their peanut brittle in their mouth, Taegan played another game and won a plushie. This one had a bracelet attached. It was kind of cute, they supposed. It would look good on his dresser.... Or perhaps Vera would like it. They smiled at that thought.

When he didn't answer, she giggled and patted his shoulder. "I'll go first and you can see if you wanna give it a try, then!" she beamed at Cyril before taking her turn at the game. She missed with her first and second throws, but with the last one she knocked down all the bottles. "Yay!! I won a plushie!" she said and giggled, leaning over the booth as she picked out her prize. "And look! It came with earrings!"

Lestari tried her hand at one of the game booths, but she completely and utterly failed. The imp at the booth felt bad for her though, and handed her a plant. Tch. She hoped it grew up into something pretty at the very least.

As she continued to talk to the librarian, she received another book that looked like a freshling might enjoy it. She was quite pleased at this, but the games booths seemed to be calling her name. Bidding the librarian a good night, she made her way to the first booth she saw, and won a giant plushie. She chuckled softly; it was very cute.
Now that they had gotten the initial rush of festival games and prizes over, it was high time they found a stall that had some refreshments. Leading Kanda to one he had spotted as they were leaving the beading table, he paused long enough to adjust the three plushies around so he could pay for their snacks and hand some to Kanda.
Kanda waited patiently beside her father as they stood in line for the treats. When he gave her a choice, she took the small bag of peanut brittle and put it in her own stocking. Then she took the peppermint bark that he'd gotten for himself and slid that into his stocking. With wide eyes, she accepted the warm cup of hot cocoa from the gentleman behind the counter, being careful not to spill it.
Vüsala was more than grateful when his daughter lent him a helping hand. Trying to juggle all the toys and pay for the treats and put them away was a bit more than he could handle. He certainly would have tried to do it all at once, but without asking Kanda had simply taken the candy and put it away without having to be told.
As they were walking away, a soft poof sound alerted him to danger. A giant plush fennekit hurtled towards his daughter and he was quick to step in the way of it. The impact was a bit harder than he expected, but he kept from knocking into anyone. The dark look he sent the two who were holding the gun had them turning and quickly finding things to do on the other side of the festival.
Kanda, seeing her father step in front of her, peered curiously around him. The sight of another plush on the ground had her scampering around him to look at it. It was a different one than the ones she already had and she turned to give her father a pleading look. With a sigh, Vüsala looked at the plush on the ground before trying to pick it up as well.
"I'm going to have to make a trip to the hotel. I can't carry all these things around and look after you. Can you mind yourself while I'm gone?" His arms bulging with the four giant plush animals, it was clear that that was his limit. Kanda nodded a quick assent and gave him a fierce hug before stepping back and gesturing to some of the games. She would play some of them until he returned. Nodding, Vüsala patted her head gently before turning and striding out of the festival to make the trip as quickly as he could.
Her gaze followed the grimm for a while longer as her thoughts drifted. If she went with her initial plan, to range the festival in search of the daydreams, she could miss out on them entering and risk the chance of them getting pulled into a conversation by someone else. Isabelle wasn’t the type of girl to just swoop in and steal someone from a conversation, especially since they wouldn’t know her either!
She could have gone over and tried to talk with the blue fey, but she had gotten the feeling that the chimera she’d been talking with had been a teacher from the academy. She thought, she’d caught sight of her in the halls, but she couldn’t be sure. After all, she was new to the school herself. Sighing, Isabelle let herself feel down for just a moment. It was. . strange, to be here, but nice. Taking a deep breath, Isabelle gave herself a mental pep talk and turned her attention to the crowd around her. At this rate, she’d never manage to chat with one of the newcomers!
Looking around, she saw a stand that was giving out plants as the prize for winning its’ game. The game didn’t look too hard, so she wandered over. The plants would probably do well in her room, with all the humidity in there. Then again, it was also possible that the high humidity would kill the poor thing.
“Excuse me, but do you know if these would do well in a room with a lot of humidity?” Isabelle asked the attendant as soon as there was a lull the conversation they were already having. Wait a minute . . . that Baphomet was surprisingly familiar. Weren’t they a teacher at the Academy too?!

Stifling a laugh when she came across just such a thing, the Baphomet was quick to head towards the nearest food stall. Books were marvelous things, but she wasn’t quite in the mood to try winning some of them in a game. No, she preferred going to the bookstore when she was after a book.
Lost in thought, Elliah went to get herself a cup of punch when the sound of splashing and sputtering caught her attention. Startled, she looked down to see a salamander in the punch. With a bewildered cry, she scooped the poor thing out of the punch and nearly burned herself badly in the process. The little critter was upset, tail burning brightly and hissing as soon as she set it on the table.
With a word to the attendant, who had turned away when the thing was dumped in, she got some towels and a bit of food to offer it to try and calm it. The punch bowl was taken away, probably to get dumped out and cleaned before being refilled and brought back. Elliah ignored it, drying off the salamander carefully as she soothed it with her tone. Eventually, it settled down and the flames of its’ tail were no longer a fire hazard.
With a pleased smile, Elliah carefully gathered the salamander up. “You remind me of a peppermint candy cane,” she told it with an amused smile. “I’ll just bet you’re just as refreshing when you’re calmed down.” The attendant, or their replacement, was so grateful she managed to calm the salamander, and hopefully were taking it away, that they gave offered her a purple-blue bracelet, along with their number. Elliah was startled for a moment, before taking both with a smile. Nodding her thanks, she turned and left that stall.
The surprise of her arm sliding through his rendered Cyril speechless for a moment. His mind raced to try and find a reason for it. The obvious one, that she just wanted to pull him over in a friendly fashion, didn’t occur to him. Instead he was caught up with thinking of the various ways that that could be a bad thing. She could be using it to throw him off balance and someone else would trip him; she didn’t want him to be able to get away while she did . . . something. Admittedly, most of the ones that occurred to him didn’t make much sense, and were discarded rather quickly.
By the time he realized they were at the game and she had gone already, she was showing off her prizes. There was a half a second pause as he went over what he’d seen while he’d been distracted before he managed to speak. “Oh, OH. Yes. Good job.” It might have been a bit rushed, but it was audible at least. “Those are . . . cute?” Was that a thing you could say? Cyril didn’t know. Before she could mention how awfully awkward he was, he swiveled and picked up a ball to take his turn. His first two throws managed to knock a single pin off each time, but the third went wide.
Thankfully, he did manage to win a prize, though it wasn’t anything near as large as Bibiana’s plush. The mountain-covered book looked like it would be interesting, at the very least. “I, I won too!” The small smile that he flashed her was accompanied by a brief flash of lights before slid into a frown. “Though it’s not as, erm, big, as your prize,” trailing off, he tried to recover as he realized it sounded like he was whining. “But that’s ok! It matches you! Oh, not that you’re big or anything, just that it’s cute and you--“ Belatedly, he realized he was babbling, and what he was babbling, and cut himself off. There was another series of flashing lights to show his embarrassment.
Walking away from the little stand Eveilyn had somehow ended up with a plushie that she hadn't really wanted but been to kind to refuse. Still it would look nice in her room she supposed. Carrying the over large plush under one arm wearing her bracelet and the plant with the other she decided it was time to make a drop off at her room rather the. Lug the armload around the whole time. One her way she ended up acquiring one more plush and some of those indoor cotton balls that stayed cold. They might be nice to use as ice packs after exams. It took a while to trudge it all back to her room and meander back down to the festivities. When she did she noticed a little freshling she actually knew. Munnin? Mewin? It was something like that. There was another with munnin who was likely important given how munnin was hugging them. Smiling she wondered if the pair were enjoying the festivities. It couldn't hurt to at least ask then she could leave them to let them go have their fun. There was of course the chance they wouldn't remember her but even if they didn't it was alright. Heading up she waved to munnin. "Hello again little one. I'm the big sis you met in he library. Having fun at the festival?"
As if the young imp needed more books, she soon found herself in the possession of yet another one, a soft smile on her lips as she clutched her fifth book of the night to her chest, laughing softly as she watched the librarian flit around, continuing to try and get more and more people to take the books.
"I don't know why so many people are so adverse to reading..." the imp muttered softly, looking up towards the Bamphomet beside her a moment later.

Alis shrugged in response to the other's words, their lips parting to respond a moment later, before the sound of a small child shrieking beside them met the Baphomet's ears. Their brows lifted as they turned, looking down at the small Freshling swatting at a rather irate bird flapping around, seemingly trying to bite the small child. Alis was quick to move, their hands slipping out to grasp at the bird, earning themselves an appreciative thanks from the child who ran off quickly afterwards. Alis blinked then, looking down at the bird in their grasp who surprisingly seemed to immediately relax, letting out a rather contented little chirp--quite the contrast to the terrible screeching noise it was making just before. Beside them, Miah giggled softly.
"I think you've made a friend."
"I guess so..."

As she walked around, Aaminah almost didn't begin to notice the small, floating wisp that followed after her. It took the soft mewling of her fennekit for her to turn around, spotting the wisp as it came to a halt behind her as well. A smile curled on the demon's lips as she giggled, outstretching a hand as the wisp seemed almost to hesitate, before floating close, settling atop her palm.
"Oh you are just too sweet,... Why don't you stick around with me?"
The wisp seemed to vibrate excitedly with approval--much to the demon's amusement--before floating up to rest atop her opposite shoulder from the fennekit.
As Zahneel wandered, she paused breifly by one booth that seemed to be just giving pets away. Curious, she moved a little closer. She liked animals and the idea of adding to her group appealed to her. But as she got closer, she saw the boothkeeper turn away one particularly surly looking person. How odd. Had they run out of pets?
She waited until the other person was gone before moving closer. Eyeing the imp running the booth, she was more than a little surprised to hear him sigh.
"Hated to do it, but none of the beasties wanted a thing to do with that one. Always trust the beasties, miss. They can sense what we can't see most times. So, let's see what they think of you, hey?"
Apparently, the 'beasties' had liked Zahneel well enough. She'd walked away from the booth with a smile, a softly chittering flitterat on her shoulder.
Hailey beamed happily as the other two agreed to playing games together. She made sure to tug Malachi along with her as she turned about and headed after the other two to the game booth. Feeling almost invincible right now, though reluctant to let go of Malachi at first, Hailey took her try at it. Hmmm... Seems her feeling was quite off since she didn't manage to do too hot. Grumble. Welp! All the same, she won some candy! Candy was always good in her book. But... "Here you go, Khai!" she said and she turned to him. "You can have it! You've just been getting lots of plants. You need more candy!" she said, noting the prize he just got himself.
Malachi did surprisingly good at the game for him. Good enough to have been able to get another plant for his project! He actually smiled as he saw the other two freshlings exchanging their gifts. Were they a couple? Then Hailey's offering surprised him as he had been off in his own little world for a bit there. Laughing at himself a little, he accepted the offered candycanes, giving Hailey a big hug. "Thanks Hailey~"
"You're welcome, weirdo!" Hailey chimed happily in reply. "Hey guys! I think I saw a familiar booth somewhere near here! Let's see if we can't get some pets!" she said excitedly, eyes glowing bright at the thought. And before anyone could say anything else, she grabbed Malachi's hand and dragged him off once more.
Eep! Malachi laughed as he was dragged off again. This was becoming very routine at this point. And as luck would actually have it, he managed to get himself a new type of familiar he hadn't seen before... thought it was noisy and kept trying to bite at him... Leaning over to Charmstar and Nikora, away from the bird in the cage, he whispered -- because he really needs to speak more softly than he already does "What should I do with this thing? It's trying to eat my fingers off..." He was going to keep it, of course, but it was a bit terrifying at first and he wanted to keep all his fingers!

Dodger couldn't be having more fun if he was trying right now. He was too excited to be out at the festival with his girlfriend. BUT!... "Oh dang!" he realized that he needed to prove himself in the manly way like all males do at a festival! Win his lady a ridiculous sized plushie at a game! With a grin, before she could protest, his arm linked with hers and he dragged her on over to one of those 'test your strength' games. "And here, m'lady, I shall win you something huge and stuffed!... I hope!" he added in there. He heard these games were rigged to where you had to hit them in a certain spot to win. Taking up the offered hammer, he gave it his best shot!
And about five embarrassing tries and strategically placed hits later, dodger proudly handed her a huge Kidden plushie. "It's sassy like you~ See! It's raspberrying the world. heh" he said as he was all grins. Then he slid a little chocolate bark her way, cause what chick didn't like chocolate?!

With one critter cage in hand, and another critter following in step beside xyr, Bobbi actually felt a bit happier than xe ever really imagined having... what was the term they used? Familiars. That's right. They were surprisingly nice company. Bobbi even began pondering what kind of food they might like and if they liked treats like they did. Hmmm...
But then the sight of more books caught xyr attention. And there were a few that Bobbi hadn't gotten yet. Heading over, Bobbi rested the cage down in front of xyr then took up the offered rings. Three terrible throws laters, xe gave a sigh. Bobbi was actually trying xyr best, but to no avail. But then the person running the game offered a choice between the books they had caught xyr peeking at. And when they insisted that xe accept it as a gift, Bobbi gave them a genuinely happy smile then took up Malice in Wonderland. It was for younger ones, but it was a book with wonderful [[...ly messed up]] memories for xyr. With a bow of xyr head, Bobbi slipped the book in with the others, and took up her small bird cage and patted xyr leg once again. With critters in tow, Bobbi hunted for the next place with books yet to be gained.

She’d managed to get out of sight of the stall before she realized she hadn’t accomplished her goal there, which had been to get herself a small snack for her stocking. Elliah looked down at her new companion, the red and white salamander, which was now tucked under her arm and to all appearances enjoying the ride. With a rueful smile, she set about looking for a new food stall. Hopefully, the next one wouldn’t have the same mishap. She wasn’t sure she would be able to calm two enraged and drenched salamanders.
Luck was with her, Elliah spotted a stall serving hot chocolate and giving out small bags of peppermint bark. Now that she wasn’t moving around very much, (and she was damp from drying off the familiar), the cold was starting to get to her. She slid into place at the end of the small line. A couple minutes passed and it was her turn to get a drink. Accepting the cup with a thankful smile, she took a small sip before setting it aside to take the bag of candy from the attendant. That went into her stocking before she picked the cup back up and took a couple steps away to make room for those behind her to get the same.
Camrine walked along the festival pathway looking for something to do. She was a bit lonely wishing she had someone to hang out with and talk to. She stopped at a booth and picked up a pretty bracelet to brighten her mood.
Glykeria found a guess your age game. She giggled as she listened to the Litch trying to guess her age and getting no where close. The guy thought she was still a junior by the guesses he was spouting off. When he finally gave up Gly picked out an adorable plushie to take home.
Aeon smiled and said "Thank you, that makes me feel a little better." Anon shrugged and then said "I will have to find out more about the music program at the school then, since that is my favorite subject, what makes my heart sing." She touched her violin case fondly. After Anon said that she stopped at a booth for a moment to pick up some candy.
Coco went along still nervous about going around by herself. She found a bean bag toss game, but didn't have any luck so she went to another booth and accepted a free pack of candy canes.
The next booth was filled with all kinds of things. Odessa couldn't help but stop and stare at a pair of bell earrings. She bit her lip and pointed to them, pulling out a little money to pay for it.
Kiessi's eyes lit up as they saw all the bracelets there were to pick from! They picked up one of the blue ones, slipping it on their wrist and waving their hand to show their mother.
Kara stopped to look around at all the jewelry. She never was quite into all that stuff like other females, still it had a certain allure to all of it. She was thumbing through a couple of necklaces when out of the corner of her eye she saw a little salamander scurrying about. "Hey little guy... Come here.. I won't hurt you." She reached out her hand, smiling as the familiar came closer.
Anara slipped around the back of the booth, eyeing it as she saw a mother and a kid smiling happily together with their new bracelet as a prize. Perhaps she should get one too? That'd make her happy if it made the other one happy, right?
Rorie bounced around through the crowd when his caregiver gave him a pair of antlers. He smiled, loving the way the bells sounded as he moved.

"Food does sound like a good plan." Eilwen agreed and followed after Gaius into the crowd. She couldn't help but laugh a little bit as she grabbed himself a fourth little sprout to take home. He certainly was going to stay busy taking care of plants for a while! They were pretty cute though and there was the mystery behind what they'd grow into as well! Who knew was sort of plant they could be. Well, Corben probably did. But where was the fun in asking the teacher when you could figure it out yourself?
When they made their way over to the food stand she picked out a bag of peanut brittle, something else she could share with the little flitterat that was stils secured to her shoulder. She was pretty sure it'd stay around so long as she kept feeding it.
At first, when Gaius stuck his hand into the punch bowl, Eilwen was sort of shocked. Bad manners much? People were drinking out of that you know! Once he pulled the Salamander out of it though, she was even more baffled. That was worse than someone sticking their hands in it! "It's cute, but what was it doing in the punch bowl?" She stared in horror as someone poured themselves a glass of the punch and walked away. Oh my goodness, they were drinking Salamander punch. Groooooooss!
