She was actually having fun playing the games at the booths. She leaned against a wall to take a break when the librarian shoved a book at her. "Oh!" she squeaked, then blushed when she saw the title of the book and the cover. "O-oh, my..."

Bibi giggled. "Nice to meet you, Cyril!" she piped happily, then smiled as Cyril received more prizes. "I don't know, this is my first one. But isn't it so much fun so far?" She was so bright and friendly, it was almost infectious. "I've gotten a couple plushies so far~" She giggled again and hugged her plushies to her chest as she received yet another. "See any games you wanna play?"

Aellys snorted when he won a pair of bell earrings from a game. Instead of wearing them himself, he attached them to the plushie he had won previously.

Dani smiled as she picked up a festive stocking. She was late to the party, but she couldn't help that and nor could she stay away. There was so much to see and do here tonight. It would be a good change from her classroom and perhaps she could see some of her students in their 'natural habitat' so to speak. She chuckled to herself as she picked up a pair of bell earrings. She put them in her ears instead of tucking them in her stocking, shaking her head to hear the tinkling. She giggled quietly and had a smile on her face as she wandered around the booths.
Sirius had almost spat out his coffee when Ava demanded he chaperone the event. Sure, he was scheduled to chaperone soon, but why in the deities now? There were far too many people. Far too many idiots, at that. But he accepted, mostly because she gave the look. The look that clear said if he didn't he'd dislike her response. So, with a defiant sigh, Sirius had "accepted", packing his large thermostat of coffee and gathering his mugs for the event.
When he arrived he almost turned right around. There were so many people. It wasn't like he even befriended any of the teachers, so he couldn't rely on them to alleviate his boredom/annoyance, though knowing Sirius he'd find speaking to others just as irritating. He really was impossible to deal with sometimes, and he prided himself on it.
The teacher slid towards the wall, leaning against it and bringing his mug to his face. He sneered when a teacher ran by, threw a stocking at him (blue, because obviously the person was unoriginal). He couldn't help but groan as he saw what was at the bottom; a tiny plant. Really? Did he look like he liked plants?

A certain someone arrived to the event late, all dolled up in a purple dress, heels, and carefully braided hair. What was the occasion? Why, she was planning on seeing Conan, obviously! She always dressed her best when she intended to see him (though it'd be dangerous to suggest she didn't dress her best when he wasn't around), and today was no exception. She was absolutely sure he'd be around somewhere in the celebrations. Just.... where? She entered the main room with a tiny frown, accepting a stocking before pouting as she looked around for her favorite hybrid.
Cherubi finally spotted him, about to run over before she was rudely stopped by someone. Of course, she forgave them when they placed a plushie in her hands, grinning brightly before rushing over to Conan. She immediately scooped his arm into hers, hugging it closely.
"There you are! Did you get anyt- ooooh! You got quite a few prizes already! Look what I got!" Giving him no time to respond, the Chimera showed off her prize, grinning ear to ear.

Alice waited patiently by the entrance of the main event, holding a stocking in her hands already. She watched the ground, kicking absently here and there as her teeth worried at the inside of her lip. Where was Aphe? She had asked him to come and he wasn't here yet! Maybe his dad hadn't dropped him off yet? Or he.... forgot? Her face morphed into a pout at the thought before she shook her head, casting that thought aside. No, Aphe would never forget her. They were best friends. She forgot things more than he did, anyway!
Still, he was taking too long! Alice nibbled at her lip, pouting throughly at anyone who would pay attention. Luckily, her boredom was alleviated when someone spotted her, exclaiming how cute she was before dropping a boa around her neck. Squealing in delight, Alice twirled with the boa, holding it around her neck with the widest smile. Oh! She couldn't wait until Aphe saw!

Kadali hadn't meant to lose her brother, but she did, and promptly. Perhaps it had been the excited running that did it, or maybe when she ran through a fake gingerbread house when he seemed to lose sight of her. All she knew was that she had explored the entire event, and only had a stocking and a plushie for it. Well, it didn't help she hadn't been paying attention to any of the games. No, her eyes had eventually drifted, trying to find a familiar face she had grown quite fond of. Unfortunately, her efforts to find a certain green and black someone failed, and it wasn't long before Kadali huffed and flopped on the ground, leaning against a tree.
No fair. Where was he, anyway? Didn't he come? Or did his daddy keep him home? Who would do that, anyway? Today was a day of excitement, not staying home!

Lace hadn't really listened to why everyone was so excited at first. So, imagine how surprised she was when she bumped into a Fey along the way. After listening (or rather, eavesdropping), she finally got the gist of the event. Oh. Cool. Daydreams. Now where were those familiars she was hearing about?
Lace snagged up a stocking immediately, head snapping to the side when she saw.... what. WHAT. The mutant bee-lined for a stall, grabbing up a deer antler headband and, with great care, place it on her head, her head wings flapping in excitement. Okay, now she was adequately cute for this event!

Chloe was excited, just like anyone else, she just didn't.... show it. She was busy, anyway. Chloe had been helping at a candy stand, handing out candycanes she had helped make earlier that week to young children who asked. She hadn't been planning to go out and join into any of the fun, but the booth owner eventually decided her job was done, for now. She was a teenager, she ought to have fun! Despite her very polite insistence that she really didn't need a break, Chloe was shoved out of the booth, left to figure out what to do from there.
She accepted the stocking almost thrown at her, frowning briefly as she spotted earrings inside. Pulling them out, she shrugged and clipped them onto her ears, shaking her head experimentally. Huh. They were actual bells. Shrugging, the demon meandered about, keeping near the booths for the current time.

Ella was having a bad time at the event. Her mom was super busy. She couldn't find Quilo, and she felt.... lonely. She didn't know why, but the pits of her stomach felt empty, and not in the "I should really eat way". Maybe it was because her dad wasn't around much because of school, or that she hadn't really made as many friends as she had wanted. Maybe it was seeing large groups of friends meet up, or watching Daydreams befriend other Nightmares. Maybe she was just sick. She didn't know, but the little hybrid felt.... well, down.
Her mood did lift when someone handed her a stocking. Inside were earrings, and Ella immediately clipped them onto her ears. A tiny smile rose to her face at the sound of their jingling. Simple, but comforting, in a way. Maybe today wasn't the pits.
Kanda was delighted to take the treat from her father. It wasn't often that he gave her candy like this, but for the festival he was just as willing to spoil her as much as she wanted. Sucking happily on the minty candy, she trotted forward to a new game. Spin-the-wheel games were fun, and she tugged the wheel to start its' spinning.
Much to the obvious dismay of Vüsala, she won another giant plush. This one was a kidden, blue and white like the small one her father had just got from her last winnings. With a bright grin, she turned around to show it to him. As she did so, a silver boa was draped around her neck. "Here you are little lady, a silver boa to go with your golden bells," the imp gave her a grand smile and tipped his hat as she beamed at him. Her hands full, she could just wag her tails furiously and skip over to Vüsala.
Vusala followed Kanda at an albeit slower pace than usual, hampered by the awkward task of carrying two giant plushies around. While she spun the wheel for her game, he spotted a librarian carting around books and pressing them into the hands of anyone she could convince to take them. As she approached, he shifted a plush around so he had a free hand. "That one there, if you please," he told her, gesturing to a mystery novel among her stack.
It was a bit of a struggle to get the book into his stocking with his arms full, but with a little help from the librarian, he managed to wedge it in there. It wouldn't take many more of these giant things before he would be forced to head back to the hotel to drop some off. Seeing his daughter approach with yet another had him asking the nine what he did to deserve this. Yet he accepted the task of holding the third toy. At least she was enjoying herself.

As she put her water bottle away, Isabelle looked around again. Her attention was immediately caught by a pair of wings that didn't belong to any of the races down below. The blue girl attached to them wasn't of any race that lived here, so she had to be one of the daydreams! Isabelle hurried to try and get over and chat with her, but got sucked into the crowd. Before she knew it, she'd gotten all turned around and the fey was nowhere in sight.
However, she wasn't going to let that stop her. Slipping over towards a booth, she tried to figure out where she'd been. From there it would be easy to find the fey again. By the time she'd gotten herself situated and relocated the girl, she was obviously in the middle of a conversation with a chimera. Sighing, Isabelle left them to their conversation and turned around.
"Happy Solstice!" A cheerful voice said as a bracelet slid into her hand. Isabelle started before giving the boy a smile and returning the greeting. The blue bracelet was cute, and the grimm who'd given it to her was even cuter. She made a note to herself to go talk with him when he wasn't so busy.
This time the game was mainly chance: one of the duck themed games to pick out a prize. Elliah figured she couldn’t do too badly with that. There were several small prizes and plenty large prizes on display. Looking through the pool for a good choice, she scooped up a cute duck that had a tiny scarf around its’ neck. Her prize, a pair of silver earrings, wasn’t one of the large prizes, but she liked the gentle chiming sound they made as she put them on. If things continued at this rate, she was going to leave with her stocking as empty as she had arrived with it and all her prizes adorning her.
Resolute to find something to put in her stocking, Elliah made her way towards one of the food booths. If luck was on her side, she could find a couple more bags of peanut brittle or maybe peppermint bark to add to her stocking. On the other hand, there were plenty of other nightmares wandering around with books in hand. Was there a librarian out there, handing out books as prizes?
Honestly he had zero interest in this... But the email sent out to all of the faculty made it sound as if they had to make an appearance at least for a little while at the festivities... Plus, Tengu wanted to go. So, here Deskri was... Standing on the sidelines of a very, very busy festival. Ugh. His head was already beginning to ache- between getting accosted by an overly-cheery staff member in the name of getting a stocking and having one of Judas's little engineering club minions literally launch a plushie in his face- he was done. Half an hour in and he was already done.
But, he wasn't going to spoil Tengu's fun. Oh no. If Tengu wanted to stay, he'd stay. He'd just... do it on the side. Away from everyone else. Except maybe one other person, apparently. He didn't really know the other hybrid, he seemed as stand-offish as Deskri was - which was fine by him. He literally didn't feel a need to make friends with his colleagues. If they wanted to be friendly, they could approach him as far as he was concerned.
Shivering, he adjusted his coat a little to sink further into it- the weather was getting to be far too cold for his liking...
Wait a minute.
He squinted to himself, realizing something... off... was going on with his tail... Shifting he turned to look down at it, only to see it intertwined with another tail- this one blue with light blue tendri--.... Oh. He immediately shifted, pulling his tail away from the offending blue one with a sound of disgust. "Mind your tail."

OH THIS WAS ALL SO EXCITING!!! Corben was so pleased to see everyone mingling- especially the ones who came and got plants from him! He'd set up a nice little booth with a wheel to spin for the freshlings, and some simple trivia for the older kids to play. Of course, they'd get a plant regardless of their answers, but it was still fun!
He surveyed the crowd, watching to see if he'd recognize anyone-- but also to see where Leif had gotten off to. He said something about meeting a friend? Probably the poor girl he'd said referred to herself as a "trash baby." How terrible. During his searching he spotted a familiar face - Jurvik - and waved excitedly. He was probably too busy with his own son to notice, but it was worth a shot!

Leif had gotten to the festival early- in order to help his father set up the herbalism booth. He'd been quite proud of his work on the posters! He'd drawn little plants and even helped fill in the letters that said what the booth was, too. But, after a while of helping pass out plants, he'd gotten bored. Not that hanging out with his dad wasn't fun, he just wanted to play with some friends!
Much to his delight, he'd spotted Kadali come in (with her brother?), but soon lost her in the crowd as she took off with the boy she'd been with. Oh well... He waited for a while longer until he spotted her again (he'd know that strawberry-banana hair anywhere!), and then hurriedly told his dad that he was going to join her. Stocking, plushie, and candy in tow, he darted off through the crowd to join her. "K-Kadali...!"

Aphelion had not really been sure what time the festivities even started- thus his late arrival. Starlet - his father - had apologetically told him that he'd be late, and so he'd set off to the festivities without him once he'd realized that he was, indeed, late. Shortly after arriving, he was passed a stocking, which happened to have some candycanes inside of it...
Just as he spotted Alice and started to wave, a plushie nearly beamed him in the head! How dangerous! He blinked his four eyes in surprise, then leaned over slowly to pick it up. Oh... It had gotten dirty... Oh well. He cradled it under one arm, and then trotted over to Alice. "Hello Alice. I am sorry I am late. I didn't know when it started..."

"Nice to meet you too, I suppose," Cyril replied. He flashed a tentative smile when he learned it was her first time too. "It's my first time too," he said. "Though I think it would have been a much better idea to just have stayed in my dorm. . . " Her bright nature was admittedly lifting his spirits, but she probably have plenty of other friends who would want to hang out with her here soon. He would have to make sure not to get too attached so that when she left him, he wouldn't be upset.
"I don't know, I haven't really looked around?" Cyril paused, looking around and getting even more befuddled at the riot of colors and sounds and people. Resolutely, he turned back to Bibiana. "Was there anything that you had wanted to play?" he asked hopefully. It would be less of a strain than trying to figure out something that would be fun for him.
While he wasn't paying attention, someone slid a pair of antlers on his head, chuckling at the sight. He withered a bit, reaching up to feel what had been put on his head. With his luck, it would be someone's trash or something gross. The feeling of the felt antlers made him feel a bit better, and he left them in place.
”I’m sorry!”, Edel said when she recovered from the little collision. She scrambled to get herself up, hoping to offer the other freshling some assistance. Edel knew that she was a little prone to accidents, but usually they were self-inflicted. Knowing that she may have hurt someone else left her feeling immensely guilty. Properly standing, she extended her hand out to the freshling. Looking at them now, Edel recognized her as Rhiannon, a litch freshling that she’d occasionally see on campus, and shared a class or two with. “Hey Rhian..non,” Edel said, struggling with Rhian’s full first name, “I can help you up” Rhiannon seemed hestitant though, taking so long, Edel thought she wasn’t going to take her hand. Eventually, Rhian took her hand, accepting her help.
As the two got up, they were surprised by a couple bundles of candy canes being held before them. Apparently the staff running a the nearby familiars booth saw their collision, and offered the candy as a sort of consolation prize, to make them feel better if they happened to feel upset. Edel gladly picked up a pack of purple canes, she looked expectantly at Rhiannon to see what they picked, but it looked like She had struggles of their own…
Rhiannon was shocked by the initial contact, falling back onto the soft, but cold, fallen snow. She supposed that that was what she got for getting so distracted by a simple bracelet. Soon she saw a freshling hand extended out to her. Her eyes followed it up to see who it was that bumped into her, finding a vaguely familiar face greeting her. Rhiannon couldn’t recall her name, but she recognized the baphomet vaguely in class. With their cracked horn and slit pupils, which was barely seen since the freshling usually kept her eyes down stuck in a book.
She was initially hesitant to accept their help, a little annoyed by how they helped cause the fall, (failing to realize that she was likely just as much at fault for not paying attention.) Eventually the baphomet’s friendly apologetic nature melted her bitterness a bit, remembering that, as it was the Solstice, that such a negative attitude wasn’t the way of the season.
As Rhiannon got up, she was surprised by the bundle of candy canes that were offered to her and the other freshling by the nearby booth staff. She was ready to accept one of the bundles, when she felt something tug at her wrist, particularly on her bracelet! She turned her head and saw a dark red kidden wrap its mouth around her bracelet. “Hey!”, she exclaimed, trying to lightly tug the bracelet loose from its mouth, but the little familiar held on tight. Rhiannon grew stressed, not wanting to tug so hard as to break her bracelet. The staff failed to notice her plight though, instead allowing Rhian to take the familiar since it was so fond of her. Having no other options, she looked stressedly over to the baphomet freshling, “Can I get a little more help here?”
Hermes blinked as he ended up with another plushie wondering if he should take offense at the fact that apparently he looked pitiful, however he was getting free plushies so he supposed that he couldn’t take too much offense at the whole thing. Imps could look lost and pitiful he supposed. Suddenly movement caught his attention and he turned to see Tayce standing there. “took you long enough. I was started to think both you and melody ditched me. Shall we get this festival thing started?” with that hermes jumped down from the Bench.
Roserain
Shifting his rather large plushie he continued down the booths. He lost a couple of the games and got a few candy canes as consolation prizes. Every once in a while he would get a really weird look and some of the freshlings ended up running away. Ugh he didn’t like walking around with out a mask but it should still work if he had it on him. Placing the mask in his bag he continued to the next booth where he ended up winning a plushie. It was then he saw a familiar flash of pink and black.. “Lace???… Lace!!!”
"Alright... I've got three books. I guess I should try out some more games, huh? I think my little plushie needs a friend!" the imp said with a giggle, squeezing the small doll in her hands as she looked over towards Alis, who simply shrugged. Before Miah could suggest a certain direction to go however, she found herself once again in the company of the librarian, who was shoving yet another book in the girl's hands.
"O-oh... Well. I guess one more wouldn't hurt, right?"

As the poor imp beside them was again bombarded with more books to take home, Alis simply shook their head, offering the briefest of smiles as they looked towards one of the booths near by. Pulling Miah along, muttering something about wanting some more candy. Peanut butter, this time?

"Come on cutie, let's see what other goodies we can get, eh?" Aaminah said with a grin as she lifted up the small festive Fennekit, placing the creature up on her shoulder, allowing the little bundle of fluff to curl up around the back of the demon's neck.
Before long, Aaminah managed to find her way towards one of the throwing games. While it took her a few tries, she did manage to finally win herself another little friend--a stuffed friend, that is. As if the demon needed an oversized Fennekit plushie to go with her actual fennekit.
As the familiar decided to perch on her shoulder (and try to bite her hair) the chimera snagged another book. And because it was there within reach, a plushie.

And to prove her point, Verve snagged another pair of earrings.

While Charmstar waited for Hailey to take (or refuse) his hand, who should show up but his friend from Language class! The fallen's wings spread open in delight as he waved, "Nikowaaaaaaa!!!" and turned to the silvery freshling to explain, "That's Nikowa, she's my fwiend!" with much enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, Charmstar's caretaker got him a book.

"I'm Amihan," the chimera introduced with a smile, although she seemed friendly or at least harmless enough, the red-head made no attempt to offer her hand. Instead, when she raised an arm, it was to point at a booth, "Ooooh!! Look! They're giving away potted plants! Do you want one?" she asked with a slight tilt of her head. She was also eyeing one of the cat plushies but waited for the daydream's reaction first.
Hailey gave the other kid a weird look. She had no idea what he was talking about, her lips almost twisting into a strange pouty purse while she tried figuring it out. Then he held out his hand. She didn't didn't really want to take it. Malachi was the only one she ever held hands with, but then she had an excuse not to when he started getting spazzy over his friend. "Errrr.... Hi?" she said to the other freshling, but she started to inch away in the direction Malachi had headed. "I'mm go find Khai. You can talk to your friend if you want..." She didn't want to be rude, but she wasn't really in the mood to meet someone else when her best friend had up and left. It was a mystery needing solving! Not time to be social. "See yah, kid!" She gave a bit of a smile and waved, but then she went off to find Malachi before they could say otherwise.
Of course there was a small stand with the attendant having their back turned on her way, so she snitched up a bracelet real quick. She wanted to give Malachi something to apologize with!
Malachi had wandered off, finding a game that was offering more plants for prizes! Malachi thought it would be a ton of fun to get some for his friends in the Garden Club. He didn't do very well in the game, but the guy running it was still nice enough to give him a plant! That made him feel a lot better. Giving a grateful smile, Malachi started moving away from the stand, sighing some to himself as he looked around. He felt sad and lost, wishing that he hadn't walked away from Hailey.
As she looked about, Hailey couldn't see hide nor wing of Malachi. "Oh no! He's off lost somewhere... I just know it!" and as she turned around she bumped into someone. "Err sor-- Malachi!" Oh she was so happy to see him that she threw her arms around him and squeezed him tightly. "Don't ever leave me like that again, mister!" ... but then she slowly let him out of the hug, fidgeting with the bracelet before holding it out to him. "I'm sorry if I did something that hurt your feelings, Khai... Here... I got this for you..."
Malachi was shocked as anything when someone bumped into him from behind, but then he was oh so relieved when he turned around to find it was Hailey. Now what he wasn't surprised by was the fact that he was clung to in a deathly bear hug. "H--hi Hailey" he managed to squeeze out with a small laugh. Then she let go. He was glad to be able to breathe again, but he could have gone a few more seconds without air if it meant she was going to keep hugging him tightly. The offered gift caught him by surprise, making a thoughtful smile spread on his face. He was still wearing the last bracelet she had given him. Reaching out, he slid his little hand through the hoop and gave a grin to her. "Thanks Hailey... Hailey presents are the best~" and then he gave her a big hug, sniffling because he was glad to not be separated anymore.
When Malachi accepted her gift, Hailey felt such relief. But when he hugged her, she started to tear up, snuggling against him as she wrapped her arms around him again. The two stood there, hugging for what seemed like forever. But then Hailey pulled back from the hug -- reluctantly so. "We should go find Charm again... Let him know you're okay. I kinda was rude and ran off to find you when he introduced his friend to me. Heh..." She didn't give him a chance to say no as she grabbed his hand and pulled him along, finding Charmstar and his friend again. "Hi again! I found him!" she shouted out when she saw him just a little bit away.

[[Crap! Forgot to roll for Dodger! Moving him to the next post lD]]
And just as easily distracted as always, Dodger saw a game stand with antlers! "Oh gosh! I'll be right back!" he said excitedly to Eileen, dashing off to the stand. He pointed out the pair that he wanted to the attendant, grinning like a crazy as the bells on it jingled when it was handed to him. "Thanks a ton, man! These are great!" He coughed up the tickets it required to get them, and put them right on before rushing right back over to his girlfriend. "Hey babe! Check these out!" and with the dorkiest but super happy grin on his face, Dodger shook his head back and forth, laughing to himself as the bells rang. "Aren't these great?!"

Feeling quite pleased about having decided to spend time at the festival, Bobbi smiled. Though there was no want to be social, being at this social gathering was giving xyr a different look at others xe normally wouldn't have. Instead of seeing naught but the daily drudge of work and such, there was a pleasant hustle and bustle as others made the best of this happy time. Winning prizes was certainly a fulfilling thing that even Bobbi was beginning to appreciate.
Although xe had been finding trying games to win books enjoyable, it was nice to find another at a normal stand. With a smile, Bobbi did xyr best to offer up the tickets to 'purchase' the book, finding it somewhat difficult to hold all the books and carry the small cage with the angry bird. Then a tote was offered up and xe gratefully accepted it, sliding xyr precious books into it. Bobbi bowed slightly in gratitude for the help, putting the tote over xyr shoulders and checking on the critter in the cage.
But then Bobbi heard this strange sound. It was a small 'yoot'. What was th--... down near Bobbi's feet was a small, poofy creature. "Is this anyone's critter?" xe asked, looking about, but receiving now answer in return. "I suppose we can try and find your owner, hmm?" and so Bobbi bent down, taking the other animal in arm, and set off to find it's owner. There was no tag on the collar, but it was possible it could have come off. The thought that it wasn't owned hadn't occurred. Doh!
