As Asmodeus promised, beyond the door to the north path, there was a distinct sound of clanking down the hall. It was reinforced with brass columns, and a latticework ceiling above, though pieces had snapped off with age. All along the walls and ceilings were various steamwork pipes, all flowing down the hallway. At this part of the path, they were mostly smooth; any valves or control panels might be further down. Although it started narrow, it widened into a small room, and there, a small group of five automatons were visible. Three of them were smaller, a brass ball on six spindly legs, with two forward-facing claws. Thew other two were vaguely humanoid figures sat on top of rolling None of them seemed to have noticed the approaching group just yet. Quote: From now on, please include the following header on your posts: Character Name and journal link HP: Action: Interaction Roll: (if applicable) Damage/Healing/Buff Done: (if applicable!0) Elder Scrolls dwarven automatons provided purely for visual reference; the ones on Asmodeus are not fully identical, but share visual similarities! For this round, please roll 1d20 for stealth, which is an interaction roll! There is no need to roll for damage yet; the group may be able to get a surprise round on the automatons if they're careful.... Dice roll-related results will be revealed in the next prompt!Characters may still join, but should join directly in the North or South Path threads and will have arrived with the rest of the group!

Area Map This map is provided for reference; characters should not have access to it! Combat Mechanics Combat mechanics are straightforward, dice-based, and tied to stage. Each round will be treated as lasting one minute, so most magic attacks should only last for a single round!HPFirst Stage: 50 HP Second Stage: 75 HP Third Stage: 100 HP Fourth Stage: 125 HP Damage will be carried between battles! Physical Attacks:Physical damage includes hitting with fists or weapons, throwing objects, or otherwise attacking the creature without the use of magic. Cats in Cat Form should roll 1d6 for physical damage First Stage characters and Cats in Human Form should roll 1d8 for physical damage. Second Stage characters and Sailor Cats should roll 1d10 for physical damage Third Stage characters should roll 1d12 for physical damage Fourth Stage characters should roll 2d8 for physical damage Magical AttacksMagical attacks are divided into two categories: direct damage and indirect damage. All attack magic will damage the creature, even things that only affect its many, many feelings! Direct damage magic is any magic that specifies either pain sensations or actual damage in its description. Indirect damage magic is magic that targets opponents with emotional or other nonphysical effects--most debuff magic falls under this category! If you’re not sure which category your magic falls under, feel free to contact me privately and I’ll make a judgement call! Spell attacks are based on the level of the spell, not the level of the character! However, Chibi senshi should subtract one die from their damage. Mauvian lasers roll first stage direct damage dice. Sailor Cats using attack magic should roll at Super stage. Direct DamageFirst Stage: 10 + 1d6 damage Second Stage: 10 + 2d6 damage Third Stage: 10 + 3d6 damage Fourth Stage: 10 + 4d6 damage Indirect Damage:First Stage: 10 + 1d4 damage Second Stage: 10 + 2d4 damage Third Stage: 10 + 3d4 damage Fourth Stage: 10 + 4d4 damage Magical Healing:Magical healing is any ability that restores characters in any way, including Transcendent energy sharing. You can use these spells with a dice roll based on their level. Spell healing is based on the level of the spell, not the level of the character (except in the case of Transcendent energy giving)! However, Chibi senshi should subtract one die from their healing. First Stage: 10 + 1d4 healing Second Stage: 10 + 2d4 healing Third Stage: 10 + 3d4 healing Fourth Stage: 10 + 4d4 healing Buff Magic:Buff magic is any kind of magic that has an effect that boosts allies' abilities. When casting buff magic, roll as follows and quote any targets affected. They will add your total roll to their damage for the round. Chibi Senshi roll one less die! First Stage: 2d4 Second Stage: 3d4 Third Stage: 4d4 Fourth Stage: 5d4 Shielding Magic:Depending on the type of shielding magic, it may simply absorb a round's worth of attacks or provide some damage mitigation. Touch base with me individually for shield spells; I'll give you an answer depending on how they're written! If you feel your magic doesn't fall into any of these categories, hit me up and we'll work something out!

Eternal Sailor AsmodeusHP: 100/100 Action: sneaking! Interaction Roll: 2 As expected, there was a small group of automatons in front of them. Asmodeus hissed unhappily--these things were annoying as hell, and they could also do some serious damage when pressed.
"Okay. These things aren't very smart--if they had better programming once, it's been replaced by an extremely simple defense mode of sorts. They'll treat us as immediately hostile, but if we're quick, we can take them out before they have a chance to hit us. Just...move quietly and move fast."
Her voice was quiet, pitched carefully to be audible to the people with her but hopefully not alert the automatons in front of her.

Character Name and journal link Rainier, Squire of Mercury HP:75/75 Action:Sneaking - staying in front of Acrucis. Interaction Roll:14 “That’s good to know,” Rainier replied quietly in response to Asmodeus instructions. She looked back over her shoulder at the Senshi of Prayer, her silver eyes silently urging her friend to stay behind her. “I’m not sure how well my magic will work against machines,” she admitted, carefully extending the cord of her weapon to its full length. “But at the very least, this should be sturdy, or long enough, to trip them up… maybe slow them down.” She could only hope. If those mechanical spider-like creatures' claws were as sharp as they looked, they might very well slice through the cord as if it were nothing more than a piece of thread. As a Squire, she wasn’t sure that she had the strength to hold one back, but she’d try her best nonetheless. Character Name and journal linkSailor Acrucis, Super Senshi of PrayerHP:75/75 Action:Sneaking Interaction Roll:13 Acrucis nodded, acknowledging Rainier’s wordless instruction. Although she would not consider herself athletic by any means, if a code was called at work she could be quite agile on her feet in short spurts. Granted she wore flat sole shoes at the hospital rather than heeled boots like the ones she had on now, so that was something else to consider before sprinting down the corridor. "All I can do is try to keep up," she whispered. "If anyone gets hurt I'll do what I can to heal them." Beyond that there was little else she could do to help in a fight.

Character Name and journal link Sailor Haldane, Senshi of DoubtHP: 50/50 Action: Sneaking Interaction Roll: 7 This was all really neat! It would have been more neat if not for all that noise! Oooooor the inherent and imminent danger they were in. Haldane was glad his knees didn't crack like glowsticks when he sunk in to sneak mode - now if he could keep himself from humming sneaky-theme music in an attempt to ease his nerves. Because silliness was as much a defence mechanism as acting dumb was. By now, it had become such a habit that the line between acting and actually being dumb was very, very blurry. In that moment though, Haldane could only think one thing - moving around in 'sneak' mode like in video games was actually very uncomfortable. Ouch - his calves! His knees! He wasn't that old, right!? [open to interaction, of course!]

Character Name and journal link Procyon Super of LiminalityHP: 75/75 Action: sneaking Interaction Roll: 19 Damage/Healing/Buff Done: (if applicable!0) Nodding as Asmodeus mentioned moving quickly and quietly, Procyon was very good at keeping himself small and out of sight. It probably helped that he was small himself but he still wanted to be careful. "I'm not great at hitting things but... if there's a button or something I can push to maybe stop them? Is that how things like this work," he questioned softly as he kept hidden as best as he could. He really didn't want to have to explain to Daedalus why he broke his prosthetic again if he tried to scuffle with one of the robot-like things up close and personal. He always felt bad when he damaged it, though it wasn't happening as much as he got used to having more balance again. It had taken time but he was glad for the help.

Character Name and journal link Chang'E Dss of ElationHP: 50/50 Action: trying to sneak Interaction Roll: 12 Damage/Healing/Buff Done: (if applicable!0) It was louder now that they were on this path and Chang'E watched the automatons with wonder. "Fascinating..." Though they definitely seemed dangerous. "Hopefully we can avoid having them spot us," he whispered to Brioche as he crouched slightly. At least there were others here so if it came to a fight he could offer his magic to aid them, if it decided to listen to him. It wasn't something he'd managed to use during his wanderings and with how things were on his world he doubted it would ever work exactly right.

Character Name and journal link Mauvian Brioche - Cat FormHP: 50/50 Action: Sneaking Interaction Roll: 13 Damage/Healing/Buff Done: n/a Clinking and clanging, whirling sounds and hissing steam. Familiar and yet not. Either way, Brioche found himself not enjoying it at ALL. Ignoring the danger, the moisture was higher than he ever liked and made him feel as if he was already waddling through thick air-soup. Well, no, not waddling, riding, giving that he had yet to set foot on the ground here. It was best for him to stay as he was, protectively perched on Chang'E's shoulder! "Interesting, yes.. but threatening... You will be careful, you all will be careful, I plead." His tail was already fluffed up in anxiety, There were so few of them here already, he could not help but cast a warm smile to the ones he did not know. There was no way he could promise to keep them safe, he was weak, pathetic, useless still even now... But he could give them the soft reassurance that only a fluffy fat cat could. "We will get through this together, we are all very good at sneaking!" His voice was hopefully soft enough to have the others hear him, and NOT make the automatons spring to life. Even the idea of them wiggling awake due to his loud mistakes had him begin to slightly tremble. Gods knew he was out of his depth here... [anyone is free to hear his little encouragement! He's on Chang'E's shoulder, partially under his hair and hiding like the big scaredy cat he is.] Sara Draconia He's only a little better because he's hiding under Chang'E's hair, loool

Reims, Knight of GanymedeHP:100/100 Action: Sneaking, but ready to beat up some old garbage cans if needed. Interaction Roll: 6 Reims thought about going down the path opposite Amarynthos and Ephesus. They could cover more ground that way. They could make sure everything was checked and everyone was able to get out safely.
But he also knew Dering probably really wanted to be with all of his friends. How could Reims deny him?
And so, after unspoken agreement with Dering, Reims followed the other two Knights and their nosey cat down the path to the north.
The place was weird. Like it was out of a very popular video game that he happened to enjoy because it was single-player. It made him wary more than intrigued. Who knew what creatures were hiding in the depths? Waiting to claw their eyes out or some other crazy thing.
He wanted to check if Dering was okay, but instead of saying anything, he just gave his hand a squeeze. They could see the automatons up ahead, and while Reims was certain he could just whack them to pieces with his sword, he didn’t want Dering -- or, he supposed, anyone else -- getting hurt in the process. Ephesus, Knight of the MoonHP:100/100 Action: Sneaking Interaction Roll: 17 Ephesus was happy Dering and Reims were coming down the same path as them. For a moment, it looked as though Reims was going to have Dering follow the other path, but seemed to change his mind.
They would have been safe with the others, especially if Urania was going that way as well.
Of course, they didn’t get too far before coming across some of those automatrons that had been mentioned.
To make sure he didn’t make any sound, Ephesus clasped his hand over his mouth just in case, and made himself as small as possible next to Amarynthos. Lucien - Cat FormHP: 75/75 (because he has human form unlocked? I can change this if it should be 50!) Action: Sneaking Interaction Roll: 4 Wanting to give Amarynthos a chance to have his hands free, Lucien wiggled out of the Knight’s arms and back onto the ground. He shook out his mane, took a very quick moment to groom some of his leg fur back into place after being manhandled. Okay and maybe his shoulder. And his side.
Oh, but now was not a good time to spend freshening up his appearance. He walked proudly beside the young Knights, but kept his eyes trained on the mechanical creatures ahead. If they were going to be hostile if intruders were noticed, then staying quiet was important.

Amarynthos, Knight of the Moon HP: 100/100 Action: Sneaking Interaction Roll: 19 Damage/Healing/Buff Done: N/A
Oh, there were a few Deep Space Senshi here ahead of them! Amarynthos almost felt bad for not letting Michael and Devyn know; Devyn was always looking to meet up with them. Or, maybe he knew them already? Devyn was always running around, but they had a mission so he couldn’t just run up to every Senshi that didn’t look quite human.
Too bad, he’d have loved to pick their brain and hear some stories. Maybe, when they were done with all of this, he could chat them up.
…But that required planning for the future, and for the present he needed to keep all of his wits about him. Asmodeus had given warning of traps so he was doing his best to examine any oddities in the ceiling, or any anomalies in the walls. Each step he took was mindful but he wasn’t quite sure what a trap switch might look like. He stayed close to the group and wrapped his arm around Ephesus’ back as they walked together.
Ephesus might have been a bit prone to being startled but Amarynthos had faith in him and smiled as he rubbed his back.
Dering, Knight of Lysithea HP: 100/100 Action: Sneaking Interaction Roll: 13 Damage/Healing/Buff Done: N/A
Though they were with strangers, Dering didn’t really feel nervous to be in their company. Sure, there was the stress of unpredictability; he didn’t know these people so he couldn’t guess how they might react to these situations, or if they might be itching to get into some sort of scuffle. He didn’t want any trouble.
Of course! They might find it! Probably would! People didn’t just ask for help when they could take care of things themselves!
Dering knew he was in good company. He’d seen Reims and Amarynthos battle, they were both strong and clever and fast. And Ephesus might not have been much of a fighter but he was such a good healer! And good support, and good backup, and good at looking after everyone!
And Dering…had a lute!
He clutched it a little tighter and tried to wear a little smile, even if only to hide the grimace. For now, he was just doing his best to sneak quietly along with the group. He saw the automatons. He just didn’t know what they were supposed to do. So, he tried to creep as silently as possible–which he was usually pretty good at!–and let the smarter members of the group come up with the plan.

Super Sailor Solaris ★ HP: 75 Action: Sneaking Interaction Roll: 4 Damage/Healing/Buff Done: N/A
Her steps were somewhat hurried to catch up to the Knights at least--oh, more than two. She peered at them a few moments before the symbols clicked in her head--Lysithea and Ganymede, she was pretty sure? They were all pretty young, though. If anything, she was glad they seemed to have each other. Relying on people was one thing, but having others around your age was likely more effective for processing some parts of all this.
Solaris did manage to pick up some of what Asmodeus was saying and frowned, head tilting slightly. The mechanical beings hadn't seemed that advanced to her--only in terms of computing power, not output or capability--but her judgement was quickly under reassessment. "These things have a form of AI?" She kept her voice at a soft mumble, at least, having also gotten the gist of stay quiet... but her curiosity was nagging her now to see if she could get any information later from Asmodeus on how they were constructed, powered, all that fun stuff.
She glanced down towards the Mauvian with the Knights, silently wishing she could confer with him on all that to get his thoughts.

It seemed that the group's stealth efforts were successful. Whatever mysterious tasks the automatons were still following, they repeated simple routes--back and forth across the room, as if collectively tracing out a grid in the space. For at least a few more moments, the group would remain unseen, but one of the spiderlike automatons seemed to be heading for them... Quote: From now on, please include the following header on your posts: Character Name and journal link HP: Action: Interaction Roll: (if applicable) Damage/Healing/Buff Done: (if applicable!) Congratulations! The group's roll average was 11, beating the DC of 10 to avoid notice! The group has a surprise round to attempt to take out the automatons before they attack the group! Please use the combat mechanics provided to roll! Enemy HP is as follows: Spiders: 30/30 HP Spheres: 50/50 HP Please track enemy HP and note which enemy or enemies you are targeting (Spider 1/2/3; Sphere 1/2). The room is approximately 20ft by 20ft and the automatons are generally within 15ft of the center of the room. Spiders one and two and Sphere one are somewhat clustered, within 5 feet of each other; Sphere 2 and Spider 3 are separated from the group and each other. Characters may still join, but should join directly in the North or South Path threads and will have arrived with the rest of the group! There is no penalty for missing a round!
The next prompt will be posted at 5PM EST on the 25th!

Eternal Sailor AsmodeusHP: 100/100 Action: sneaking! Damage Roll: 10+ 2 = 12Targeting: Sphere 1 & Spiders 1/2 Enemy HP: Sphere 1: 38/50, Spider 1: 18/30, Spider 2: 18/30 Good. They'd managed to slip closer unnoticed.
This was her fight, Asmodeus figured. Her choice. She'd brought everyone here, and that meant she should deal the opening blow. Put herself in front, so hopefully the automatons targeted her before anyone else.
Two spiders and the sphere-rider were clustered together, close enough for her magic. Better to save the big guns, she figured, so--
"GO!" She shouted, and she burst through the doorway, aiming at the sphere and the spiders, and launched her magic. "Avernian Eruption!"
Fire leapt from her fingertips, and burst into an explosion. A solid opening salvo, she thought.Quote: Super Sailor Scout Attack: Avernian Eruption! Sailor Asmodeus speaks the name of her attack and extends one arm towards a target within six feet, touching the fingers of the other to the inside of her elbow. She sweeps her hand forward, and a burst of flames flies from her hand. It explodes into a fireball with a radius of 8 feet, and enemies caught in it will experience the pain of second-degree burns for 30 seconds, with actual damage to exposed skin possible at player discretion. Asmodeus can use this spell twice per battle.

Character Name and journal link Chang'E Dss of ElationHP: 50/50 Action: buff magic for all! Interaction Roll: N/A Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 6 buff! Glad that the automatons seemed ignorant of them all, he knew that this would be the best opportunity to help the others while keeping out of harm's way hopefully. He was careful when he moved and clapped loudly, so as not to knock Brioche off his shoulder. That was the last thing he was trying to do as he knew they were anxious over this. It was much more excitement than he figured the kind feline had had before if ever. "I'll keep out of the fight but hopefully this will help the others be more effective." With that, he smiled slightly and kept close enough to the center of the group so a good amount of the team could benefit from his magic, as long as it decided to work. Quote: Sailor Scout Attack: Ephemeral Elation Chang'E claps his hands as if to start a dance, starting his magic. Everyone in the area sees and hears the sounds of excitement and sees some illusions of various colors and patterns, finding themselves elated to the point that everything else fades away. All allies within range could find that in their elation, they are filled with optimism for the future and get a sudden second wind. For the duration of the magic, they will feel refreshed. They will be oblivious to damage/will not feel injuries (though they can still take damage and do not heal), allowing them to focus on their task. The effects fade when the magic fades. Range: 10 feet Time: 20 seconds Uses: 3 Per battle Anyone in 10 feet can choose to accept the buff ^^
