A massive chasm has formed just outside of Vale's wall. It turns out that it leads to a massive underground chasm that after an hour's trek bring you to a massive vault door which is now is controlled by and in operation by Vale's military. It is believed to been have made by Atlassians on their journey here, but remains a mystery.
The roar of the engines relaxed the wolf faunus. As she sat she playfully swung her legs humming a small tune. This would be her first official mission with her team. She was so happy. She was finally going to tear some heads off. Yuki had to let off a bit of steam seeing that she hasn't seen her husband yet. "But I know he's here!" she thought and she prevented a shuddering breath. Turbulence slightly knocking her around brought her out of her thoughts. A kind justice to her knowing how far down the rabbit hole she could go and has gone. "Landing Zone in site. Prepare." the pilots voice rang in the comms. "Thank you!" Yuki cheerfully responded. She performed a quick check of her items making sure to leave nothing behind. Grabbing her ax, she completed her list just as the doors opened. She turned to the people accompanying her with a pretty smile. "I'll see you all on the ground!" she said before jumping. Falling with her arms spread wide, the wind rushed past her and it was an exhilarating experience. "Oh yeah. I don't have a parachute or anything. Hmm... how should I do this?" She looked around a bit and noticed a tree. "Ah! Perfect!" she shouted. With just enough time she maneuvered her body in the direction of the tree and swung her ax into it. It slowed her descent greatly as she landed unharmed. "If I had a scythe it would've been cooler, but I'd never replace you, Nightingale!" she exclaimed nuzzling her weapon. She placed it on her back, after the appropriate gushing, and made her way towards the entrance. "'Wow, that's dark'....is what I would say if I weren't a Faunus." She cheerily sang. She looked up and waited patiently for the rest of her team and the other to join her. "I hope he'll be proud of me once I complete this mission!" she began to sway blush. "He'll welcome me with open arms and pat my head and say, 'You've done well. I'm glad I didn't kill you back then.!' Ah! Just the thought makes me so happy!" she thought. Her heart thumped and her pupils constricted. Her breath became a bit labored as she gripped the sleeve of her arm trying to relax. "He's all mine!" she thought as a creepy grin started to form. She stopped herself and focused on the task at hand. She steadied her breathing and calmed herself. Yuki began to fan herself with her hand. "Is it getting hot?" she asked to no one in particular. She sighed dreamily. "Only he can do this to me." she chirped. Post Count: 11
Widget shifted nervously in the crowded airship. It was bad enough she had to interact with people on a team, but, now she had to deal with several teams of four...and the tall red-headed horse faunus in the back seemed perpetually ready to rip someone apart. Out of curiosity, Widget had tried a little digging in regards to her, but, all she came up with was a first name. That and gender was literally everything she could find. Of course, the school kept medical records more securely stored so, she had no hope of tapping those without a direct link. The pilots announced their arrival and her own team Captain rushed to jump out. She did not understand why she'd jump. It wasn't like she had a exosuit equipped with shock dampening like she did.
The small girl was kitted out in a thin armored suit, over which, she wore a baggy shirt. Not even her teammates had seen her wear anything that properly fit her. As they started to descend, Widget got into her suit and did some preliminary checks to make sure everything was operational and set the suit into minimal power mode. It could go quite a way like this and would allow her to walk without issue in it. Once satisfied, she engaged the controls and started walking towards the back and stepped off, falling after her captain. She was by no means exceptionally brave, but, the interior of the craft with so many people was almost panic worthy to her, so, even this dark environment was a step up from that. She spoke into her mic to her leader, uttering only one incredibly soft word."Dropping."

Auburn sat near the back, intentionally distancing herself. She was decked out in armor including her new gauntlets and boots. They didn't offer much range with the built-in guns, but, any ranged was a step up from her total lack of it. Justice was resting beside her, the weapon towering over most of the occupants of the airship. She looked up as the pilots announced their approach and as two girls simply...leapt out. At least one of them had some sort of machinery to help her survive the fall, but, she was convinced the first had been impulsively stupid and did not relish what that suggested for the future.
"Idiots," She stood up and lifted the massive sword with what must seem an unnatural ease and made her way to the door. Unlike the first ones, she actually scanned around to pick her descent before jumping out. But, it did seem the two had landed safely below. Looking back, she eye the rest of the occupants. "You coming?" With that, she too stepped out. She aimed for a higher tree and impaled her sword into it, which tore through the trunk as she swung around it and popped free as she landed on her feet, resting her sword on her shoulder and looking up at the ship.
Weapon(s): Judgement is a massive sword that is 77" long, 14" wide and weighs 54 lbs, but, has no unique properties other than that. Auburn is able to wield this beast of a blade, even one-handed, because of her Semblance.
However, her boots and gauntlets are equipped with mini cannon-like guns that fire off dust rounds. (See Mission for image of gauntlets and boots)
TEAM: NTSS WEAPON/PROFILE: Stabby, Jabby, and Tabby~! Tabby is at this place!!!!: A big flying airship~! Tabby is with this person!!!!: LOTS OF PEOPLE Tabby is doing this!!!!: Ponder ponder~! ..> Jumpy jump off plane~!!!!!! OOC: I tried to post everyone in this mission and i am sorry if I missed anyone I could not remember who was on what teams >.< ////////////////////////////
WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~! Best. Day. Ever~!!!! Tabitha was merely sitting there around the many people on the airship. Her team's first mission, the redhead had been forcing herself to remain composed. She was truly losing control of herself slowly, resisting the temptation to take her excitement out onto the others nearby. How could she not be so happy though~! This was a first-hand experience!! "Tabby on a ship~ Tabby on a ship~!" Singing a song delightfully under her breath, she was working on her embroidery, a tree being crosshatched into existence among the small embroidery canvas. It was a very useful kit to pass one's time, and it was an item her mother had told her to keep on hand to help her concentrate. So far, it hasn't helped on the concentration levels, as her wandering gold eyes kept shifting towards her harpoons. How she loved them sharp items!!! The little bit of turbulence had been the cause of her paying attention once more, the needle poking her pinky finger. "Owie!" How dangerous! Settling the canvas down by her lap, she would pout a moment with her finger in her mouth, peeking around a moment.
Nearby was her teammate Yuki, looking to be in her own little world. How awesome she was on a team with faunus!!!! There was one missing but she wasn't sure who they were. Human!? Faunus!? She hoped for faunus!! She wanted all of the faunus to herself~!!! Unable to help but giggle at her leader, Tabby refrained from commenting, only watching Yuki's ears twitch a moment. Aww~! Such big adorable wolfy ears~!!!! She wanted to swoon, better yet glomp her leader, but the pilots voice speaking over made her decide to put her embroidery kit away. Nearby she had taken note of Widget, whose nickname she couldn't pronounce, seemingly prepared as well. That made all of them at least. A good sign to continue forth.
What a bad bad sewing needle anyways right!? Horrible!! Focusing on putter her stuff away once more, she grumble about cursing the needle. It was going into lockdown!! Her hat needed to hide too!! She needed the hat!~! Momma made that hat!!! Setting the kit and hat away, she was preparing herself, smiling in delight when she noticed everyone was getting ready to jump out. "Come on Stabby!! Let's go Jabby~!" Speaking to her harpoons, she unsheathed both from their holsters, hugging them both in her arms as she had plans with them to help her land. She waited a few minutes before it was her go, a wild caterwaul escaping her lungs. "goodbye~!!!!! Meetcha later~!~!" With a last giggle, she practically swan-dived her way out of the airship, her arms gripping the harpoons tight. Her arms were back near her waist, heavy braids of hair fluttering along with the breeze and the updraft caused by the descension. "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEE..............HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!" Quickly she was going down, and Tabitha readied herself, a plan already in mind how to land. Swinging one arm out forward in front of her, she fired the grappling hook built into Stabby, towards one of the few trees left barely standing around the chasm. Catching a branch successfully, she turned the grip of the harpoon to reel in the line, shooting herself forward to the tree itself. When she was close enough she had the hook release from the tree, using Jabby to fire it's hook towards the chasm itself. It only just contacted with a stable piece of rock, and repeating the luring action, she made an odd landing upon the rocks. Her landing made her feet shake to a point she fell back upon her derriere. Luckily her harpoons had just managed to remain by her side, Jabby stuck in the rock still. With a strong squeak, she rubbed her backside laughing and coughing. "That was... Haha..... THAT WAS FUN!!!! Can Tabby go back up and do it again!?" Releasing Jabby from the rocks, she brushed herself off, checking for scraped.

She had her armor on which was mostly flexible fabric that could resist cuts with lightweight plating over the torso and the outsides of her limbs. Her weapon was at her side and she fidgeted anxiously as she waited for their approach. When the pilots announced it, she stood up as four people launched off one after another. It was certainly interesting. One was a massive horse faunus with a beast of a sword that looked like it must weigh about as much as Sky and the woman lugged it around with ease, another seemed overly chipper, one was quiet and had what she could only describe as a mech suit who was even smaller than Sky, and the last was a girl who...honestly, seemed to have ADHD and ADD with a pair of harpoons. But, she darted for the back when it was clear and launched herself out, diving straight down for several feet with a big grin on her face before flaring her wings and barrel rolled into a steep climb before levelling out as she aimed back down, flying closer to the gathering group, but stayed airborne.
”Now this is excitin ain't it? Our first proper mission an' I get ta spread my wings! Ain't much chance back at school.”She unholstered her weapon, electing the rifle form and drew the bolt to open the breech, checking to make sure it was properly loaded before slamming the bolt back forward."I ain't much of a fighter yet, ain't never really fought, but, ma Pa got me huntin early an' I'm a fair shot an' can fly ahead outta reach of most Grimm ta scout if needed. ☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█Team:XXXX█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁█☀█☁

Dee sat a few seats down from the rest of his team, not yet having the chance to get antiquated with them since he was placed on the team. The subtle rocking of the plane swaying him side to side gently as he stares blankly ahead at the hull causing the snake he used as his hair band to shuffle around nervously until a barley audible hiss echos out thought Dee's mask seeming to clam the snake down a bit enough for it to slide its head out his ponytail and gaze around the small area. after the announcement the small milky orange corn snake quickly untangles itself from Dee's hair and slithers down and around his neck allowing his dreads to fall onto his face. Watching as the five females jumped out of the plane without much caution he followed hand on his Kopis and one around his neck, as he simply takes a step out and begins to plummet to the ground below with not much attempt to jump out or even worry about where he would land, He would land where he would.
The rushing wind almost deafening as the rushed past him. The wind ripping thought his hoodie and cargo pants. Dees eye slowly shut as he comes closer and closer to the ground. landing with a small boom. Dee opens his eyes to take a look at any damage he took form the fall before going to gather with the rest, another hiss calling out to get his snake to tie his hair back up which it soon does after a little while to gather itself putting his dreads back into its ponytail.
Reikka had been faintly asleep up until this point, settling down onto her seat next to the much taller and physically stronger Auburn with her arms crossed and her eyes hidden under a military cap, trying not to draw too much attention to herself, while at the same time getting some vestige of a well-deserved rest. Reikka didn't stir even when there was this girl who seemed high during the whole trip, singing and swaying to her own silent beat. It only seemed like yesterday when she had showed Nox ALL of her semblance capabilities only a week or so ago, and now she was still feeling the effects of such a feat. Apparently, the less she used her semblance, or the farther apart in time she uses it, the harder it is to get used to whenever she does uses it; which was a strange compliment to the fact that her semblance mentally burns her out. Still, even when she gets tired from using her semblance, the better she gets at being able to tolerate it, and the less effort it took to use the boosts. She had tried using the dexterity boost again only a few days ago, unleashing it while she was alone in the bathroom, and then attempting to paint a picture of a sunset. With the boost, the picture turned out very well, with the colors blending beautifully and making a splashing image of a burning horizon. With hues of orange, red and yellow, she had made a mess of the place, but was pleased by her work. Even she couldn't help but catch her teammates glimpsing at it after helping her clean the splatters of paint everywhere.
But now they were to embark on their first, real mission. Somehow, Reikka had maintained a rather apathetic facade throughout the whole ordeal of getting here. But on the inside, she was stirring for action and some well-earned experience. There was even a hint of fear hidden somewhere within her, but her rather brave nature shone through, and she maintained a straight face as they dressed up for the whole thing in elaborately padded and plated armor and had their weapons haplessly brought alongside them. She wished with all her might that they had no need of them, but once again slathered anti-rust cream onto her weapons with its special cloth rag the night before just so it was battle-ready. As everyone was getting ready to jump, she finally shifted from her seemingly deathly-still sleep and activated her strength boost under everyone's noses without getting their attention, as far as she knew, as she made sure she was at the back of the queue. But the moment she leapt outside of the plane the same time as everyone else did, it was obvious she was under the influence of something. She dove fast, keeping her body closed like a missile, only to flare her arms and legs once she got close to the ground, which deliberately slowed her down just the slightest bit whilst diving, and then strongly caught a thick tree branch with her arms the moment she pelted closer towards the surface. She landed with a firm 'plop' on the rather moist but hard terrain after hanging onto the branch for a few seconds and then letting it go. Her Bo staff was safely strapped to her body, which she used an adjustable leather strap that simply attached to it when the need arose.
The moment she was on the ground with everyone else, she dusted herself and proceeded to let her eyes explore the immediate surface of the terrain, eyeing the general area and the place in which the direction of the huge cavern lay. She let everyone catch their breath, and leaned against a leafless tree with her arms crossed. Aloof and ever-watchful, she didn't allow her slight frame to waver from the rather cumbersome landing. The boost was enough to cushion her landing by strengthening her muscles and prevent it from being a painful one, while her light frame ensured that nothing was damaged aside from her pride. Her cap was no longer hiding her eyes, and her face showed a straight-faced Reikka eyeing the teams. They certainly had to work with a bunch of motley crews on this mission, but she already had no intention of leaving anyone behind; regardless of whether or not they were on her team. But her overall goal remained clear: she knew she had to attend to herself and her own team first in order to keep things moving. She trusted the rest of them knew what they were supposed to do. Make no mistake, she would focus on her own members first before the others, but would simply choose to help in whatever way she can if she could. She spotted a girl with wings offering to scout ahead, waiting for the girl's team leader to decide for her. Auburn was just unsheathing her humongous heavy sword from a rather large tree after impaling it, while Dee landed with a large and audible 'boom'. The man was just as strong-looking as Auburn, but she didn't know which one was the true badass. She looked around, the only person she hadn't seen yet was Maru.
Still, she waited patiently till all of them survived the initial leap of faith, not really worrying if they got injured, as even the most frail and mousy (or should she say wolfier?) of them managed to land safely and without further cause of event. She had ominous feelings once they were down there, feelings she kept to herself but at the same time heeded. Aside from the noise and rustlings coming from the landing teams and the hovering machine, she noticed that it was quiet. Too quiet.
Calm down. Just focus. Focus. This is what you were sent here for. You can do this. You can do this. Just sip slow and breathe. Breathe. You got this!! This is the step that must be taken. If not, then would it all be for nothing? Would family sending me here be for nothing? Just a waste of time? I can't let them down. Just remember, these people are here to help. Not to hurt.
Usien had a frenzy of thoughts in his head before he stopped and talked to himself to try and stabilize himself. As an introvert, he had only so much extrovert-like behavior that he could power through before needing a social recharge. Unfortunately, that battery was depleted already just by being on the airship with the other teams. A a lot of them were, interesting. He wasn't intermingling. In fact, he wasn't even trying to find his team. That sound of possession still unfamiliar to him. How was he a leader?!?! Had a better chance asking Jerry the cockroach from the cafeteria to lead. What was occurring around him? Well, one he was surrounded by a crazy amount of women. So, go figure he was already going be out of his element. Let's add in the fact that one of the women seemed crazy What was crazy about her? Well...
Hmmm?....Is she singing and knitting?.....How is she so cheery right now? Is she not nervous?!
He didn't get it at all. Holding onto the bottle of pills, caffeine pills, he would take a long sip from his Mocha Frappe that he brought onto the air ship with him. He was lucky he did because the air ship master wasn't someone who was going to stop at a coffee shop. As they were preparing to descend, some others took the liberty of jumping off first. Some without even a parachute. Getting a closer look at the descents, he was getting nervous. Maybe the air ship could drop him off to the ground? That was when he heard Tabby be crazy again before jumping off herself.
"Did she just say Jabby and Stabby??!?!?!?!?!" he questions out loud while preparing for his own descending course. He wasn't hiding his spider limbs today and actually had them presently clasped against him like normal, but the limbs were threaded through holes in his shirt to act like miniature sleeves. Armed with his weapon, a survival kit, and wearing his alternative clothes, Usien would finish his Frappe before jumping off the air ship himself.
Making his way down towards the canvas, Usien would aim more toward the cavern's walls causing his spider limbs to dig into them slowing down his fall drastically before he ended up stopping. Limbs fully clung to the wall, Usien hung there for a second or two before dropping the remaining way, safely landing onto his knees like a super hero landing from deadpool.

Chase was calmly seated towards the back of the air ship, waiting for the signal to go. Unlike the eagerness of the others there who seemed prepared to jump off at a moments notice, he had no such sense of urgency himself. When the time came, he would exit the plane. But for now he was content to wait while all the eager people and the more crowded area went first. He did not like to be in such confined spaces with so many people, but he also wanted to minimize the chance of brushing up against others. His calmer side had taken over much earlier in the ride just so he could cope with things. Four teams were here, give or take, and that was four times the amount of people he was used to on a daily basis. Part of him was particularly nervous because he would be meeting his new team here. He had been told he was switched out of his old one last minute, a blessing or a curse he was unsure, and that on the mission he would meet with his new one. Not even being told the other members names or that of the leader, just that the team was called night shade and a few general descriptions. He would have to find them on his own with that information. His hand subconsciously went to his side and found the familiar furred head of his hound. 'At least I still have you with me.' He thought to himself with the faintest trace of a smile. The hound merely stayed silent but pushed the top of his head into Chases palm as Chase continued to pet him. His one companion from his old life that would forever be by his side till the day one of them passed.
Chase had prepared earlier that day as much as he could given the details of the mission. It was entirely uncharted territory and Grimm were a strong likelihood from the information. So he had suited up in full combat gear and everything he thought may be useful. He had his burial sword on his back, his pistol on his right hip, and his torch on the left. He had no clue of what types of grimm may lurk there other than Beowolves, so he wanted to be armed to the teeth. Which was also the reason why he brought his hound; they had learned to survive and hunt grimm together. It was only fitting he was joined by his faithful hound for a mission like this, as he may also find things Chase himself normally would not. The torch may seem an odd choice, but it was a last resort weapon. It was better than just his bare hands at the least. Besides his weapons, he also had his hand lantern strapped to his side. While he had the faunus night vision like most others, he felt comfort from it. Though comfortable in darkness in his survival mode, his other side needed the light as a source of assurance that the darkness would not consume him. It could be seen as a weakness in that respect, but to him it was his strength. It also had the minor benefit of helping to hide the fact he was a faunus, and would aid any humans on this mission in seeing as well. He had also taken his own medical kit with supplies in case any injuries were to occur. He was uncertain how many of this group could heal in some way or form, so he was going with the assumption that he would know the most. It also never hurt to be prepared. Last but not least, he was wearing his combat attire that covered most of his body. 'And most importantly keeps my identity hidden.' He thought to himself with some measure of comfort. The other part of group missions that always made him nervous was how people would react if they recognized him. Being accused of murder, even if not proven guilty due to lack of evidence, did not look the best on anyone. Especially if the lack of evidence only made the rumors that he wrongly got away with it all the stronger.
Chase was broken from his thoughts as he heard the pilot mention the landing zone was in sight and to prepare. In his mind this meant waiting for the ship to land before disembarking... but it seemed some students were particularly eager. Quite a number dropped out of the plane in spectacular manner. And not a one of them had a parachute. 'Are they insane? Well, we shall see who survives the stunts.' He thought to himself apathetically. If they had jumped with no plan to safely land, any injury was justly deserved. The only sensible ones, in his mind, was a faunus with wings and another person who had some sort of advanced suit for it. Everyone else he could see no safe or sure way of landing, but hearing no screams or sounds of horror he assumed they were fine. He let those eager ones do the drop first as he was in no particular rush to do so. It was also a relief each time a person went down because it was one less person directly near him. Still, he did need to find his team at some point... and once down there he could separate himself a bit from everyone else. It would certainly be more spacious than in the airship at the least. So he would calmly rise from his seat and pick up a parachute for himself and his hound. He was the inventive sort, so he altered it enough that it should hold his hound and stop him from breaking it on the fall. He also made sure to use a rope to attach the two to one another so he could try to control his hounds fall and direction as much as possible. While the hound was trained, it was not exactly trained in aerial drops. Something he had never thought he would need to train him for in all honesty.
Taking a deep breath, both hound and master would walk towards the front of the ship and look down. They were slowly getting closer to the ground, though Chase was unsure if they would fully land. Perhaps they would, or perhaps they were expected to jump out. Given they had parachute in the ship Chase was leaning to the latter... Besides the benefit of distancing himself from the crowds. Looking to his hound he would nod his head to signal to it that it was ok... as he stepped forward and off the ship, hound following after its master. At risk of death to either of them, the other would always be there with them. One moment Chase was in the relative calm of the ship, save the excited energy of other students, the next he was in free fall. The wind against him as he accelerated to the ground he tried to judge how long it would take him to get down and when was best to pull the shoot. He would do so about halfway down, not overeager for a fancy landing and just wanted safety for himself as his hound (having pulled his hounds shoot for it first before his own). His hound... was far less calm then he. It was struggling almost looking like it was trying to swim in air from the fall to control it, but Chase had made it so he couldn't alter it much. It was an abrupt change from free fall to a slower glide, making Chase's stomach feel unpleasant for a moment, but he quickly got over it. He angled his parachute, and by rope extension his hounds, to a large clearing so they wouldn't get caught in trees. It was the last thing he wanted to happen at this point. They came into a relatively controlled landing but because Chase nor his hound were exactly super experienced with parachutes...they failed to get rid of the parachute and ended up buried beneath them on landing. Struggling a bit on both ends, well a lot on the hounds, they eventually dug themselves out of it and took off the parachutes. Looking to his hounds Chase smiled softly and gave him a few pets in order to reassure him all was alright. Looking around he could see the others gathered a little ahead... As he slowly went towards them, stopping about ten feet away from everyone with hound beside him. His right hand had subconsciously hovered by his repeating pistol, just in case something in the cavern grew curious and came out. A slow scan revealed no immediate threat but his guard would remain. 'Oh, they're fine.' He half thought to himself as all the people who dived down seemed to be unharmed. That was good at least. His mind was not yet able to identify his team mates clearly there already as he was too focused on if something were to come out of the cave. Having arrived a bit after the others he had not heard a single word they said.
It had only been a few moment on Fran's relaxation when she got the notification of a mission. She hasn't even seen her team mates nor has she gotten to the dorms and she already being summoned. "Well, meetings are meetings, no matter where," she thought. She got into the airship that was prepared by the academy.
The scene before Fran was quite sad, and amazingly heavenly. Both are tied together, since all around her was plentiful of cute girls, albeit some of them are of other kind, sad since all the cuties are being sent to risk their lives and save the world. "What has the world turned into," But now's not the time to think about the others, or maybe it is. Fran eyes around to look who'll be with her for her first mission. These people could be her lifeline in the future after all, need to know who she should stick to. Oh, there a familiar face in Yukino right there, and as usual she's in her own cloud of thought, figure is as amazing as always, and now she jumping off. Speaking of jumping off, the red haired lady with the modest figure did so too. Her 'battle cry' resounding with the airship as she jumped off. Fran can't handle people with too much energy. Are there any normal people in this airship?
Sure there is! In the form of cute little ladies! And that one's got wings, and that one just muttered an insult, and that one's wearing... inappropriate clothes, with a suit... Can't have cake and eat it too. Ah, but there is one that Fran would take as the white apple of her eye, yes, that white hair, that petite figure and that sleeping? face. Fran looked at the cute girl intensely, watching all her movements. The rise and fall of her chest as she normalizes her breath, the small gulp as she thought to something. And then she rushed to jump, almost in a sneaky manner too, was she shy? Now Fran was interested, greatly. However, watching her jump got Fran into thinking; "Wait, do I have to jump off too? Can't we land and walk out normally? All I've had was 3 biscuits and orange juice today." This is a dilemma for Fran. While there indeed is a parachute, and everyone just seems to ignore that fact, the fact that the height was enough to warrant a parachute. "I don't like parachutes." Fran mumbles. It was then that Fran had an Idea. "Uh, sir, you got any rope somewhere? I've always wanted to try that entry style, where you go zipping that from an airship down" Fran asks the pilot. Lucky! They did have a rope... and it's short. "No choice huh," The distance left was decent enough that Fran could shrug it off with a good landing maneuver... and roll just to balance out the impact. The grass could soften it a bit too.
And so Fran does her checks. Beautiful sword? Check. Firing Mechanism? Check. Candies (NOT CINNAMON)? Check. All good, Now Fran's ready. Fran ties it into one of the cleats on the airship. Made sure it's well fastened, and tight. But as Fran held the rope unto her hands, felt it caress her smooth and gentle skin, she had an epiphany: "I'm gonna burn off my skin" But adversity breeds ingenuity, and so Fran did the unthinkable. She put on one of the Parachutes, and jumped off promptly. Her hair going wild, not that it isn't already, as the wind hits her. Assuming the proper stance to slow her fall, and waiting till that opportune moment to open her parachute. Which didn't take long, Fran uses the parachute and slowly, calmly, most importantly, safely landed. Not really, she actually got stuck into a tree and had to cut off the parachute. Brushing off the leaves and dirt on her clothes, fixing her hair and checking her things, Fran was now situated.
"Could've been worse" Fran states.

___ Nox was keeping to herself like most everyone else. She was here to provide support for the teams present. Mostly because her own team was out of commission. Yennafer wasn't available and Cali couldn't be pulled away from Eli's bedside in the infirmary with the aid of a six foot crowbar. So that left her here all on her lonesome. The trip to the mission zone was spent keeping tabs on the others in the airship. She of course took note that Reikka was here. Though she made no effort to communicate with the other team leader during the trip since it seemed she had opted to take the chance to get in some more rest. She could pick out those that appeared to be the members of Reikka's team based on what the two had spoken about. That was the extent of her knowledge though. Their mentioning of each other's teammates had been largely in passing. Nothing that covered exact details of those team member's skills or abilities. The others around were fully strangers to her. People she had only seen in passing, and then likely only on new team listings that the school pushes out to everyone's scrolls. There was only one exception. The boy with the hound with him. He stood out to her as someone she had seen during that survival class. It wasn't easy picking out particulars about him while fighting a grimm that had swallowed one of her teammates whole, but she was able to pick up enough that she know whatever his abilities were they included something that could heal, or at least stabilize someone who took a grievous injury. It wasn't a complete profile but it was useful information. Comforting as well to know that someone with a bit of a healing touch was in the group.
___ The pilot signaled that they were about to arrive and the students in the airship started to jump out starting with a wolfish faunus. Behind her was a small girl that made her think of a mouse. More of the predominately huntress filled airship compliment jumped out. Third was the big horse faunus that should be on the same team with Reikka. She was followed by the nosiest girl on board. Nox stood up and started to check over her equipment. Making sure all her items were in place and ready. She finished that by making sure the bullet shaped vials of dust were securely in place on the belt that circled her thigh. She noticed that Reikka had gotten up and made her jump as well by now. She moved over to the opening to look below and check what kind of landing zone they were jumping into before returning to pick up Break Blade. The next two out were a couple of guys. Right behind them was another girl with pink hair. Nox waited for her to make her jump while drawing her weapon and releasing the blade into two single edged swords.
___ And she jumped. Nox didn't waste anytime. She followed right after Fran and threw herself out of the airship and into the whistle of moving air as she fell. Nox smiled to herself as she enjoyed the relaxing feeling of free fall for a moment before twisting her body to get herself lined up with the tree she wanted to use for her landing. Unlike the others it had a nice big limb sticking out where it was easy to get at. The kind that would be perfect to hang a swing on. She extended her arms to increase her drag for the last fifteen seconds before the branch came close enough. The sword in her right hand lashed out and slammed into the branch with a solid THUNK sound as it cut deep into the wood and got wedged into place. The wire cord connected the hilts snapped taunt and caught Nox into a swing. The sudden yank loosened the blade but not before Nox had swung under the branch and popped back up into the air. She righted herself and completed her landing on the branch. Once satisfied with her balance she gave a sharp yanking motion with her left hand and the right blade stopped swinging beneath the branch and came back up to her where she was able to snatch it out of the air. Nox fixed the two blades back together into their double edged short sword form and then slid it back into it's sheath at her waist.
___ Nox looked around. Most everyone had landed close by and the cave was right there too. She spotted Reikka leaning against the trunk of the tree next door so to speak. 'Well this spot seems likely to be where the team's will gather to discuss how to proceed.' If that were to be the case then there wasn't much need to get down just yet. But since everyone else made their landing on the ground itself she would get down as there was well. For starters she made her way down the branch to the trunk. From there she climbed down to a more suitable branch that low enough she could jump down. With some snake like graceful movements she got herself in position and then dropped silently to the ground below. Bending her knees and falling into a crouching position to absorb what impact there was before springing back up. 'Now where to go from here. Guess I might as well stick close to Reikka for the moment. Until a better idea is suggested might as well stick to those you know.' She thought while walking over to where Reikka was waiting for her team members to gather.

XXXIf one were to take into account the number of students aboard the ship, someone might've noticed that a certain avian faunus was missing. Surely those on the newly dubbed team SLAR had noticed one of their two white-winged faunus wasn't present on the ship. Why hadn't they raised a concern? Likely due to their leader herself, Sakura, reassuring them that Yui just needed a few moments to herself in preparation for the mission. Sure, such an excuse made more sense before the upcoming mission, but in departure to it? Despite the Huntress being sculpted to the image of perfection, she too hard her quirks and flaws. One of them happened a need for isolation to get her thoughts together, no matter how important the task at hand is. It was the only time she ever had such an opportunity to think for herself when growing up, by distancing and hiding from her mother or the other Lioncourts. The real question, however, was where is this winter-haired woman hoping to find clarity before such an important mission? Well, the girl had used her own natural gifts to ensure her privacy. A gift that one of her teammates shared, but seemed not to tread on Yui's need. Where the other fifteen students were confined to the interior of the ship, Yui seized the opportunity to ride aboard the metal craft by her lonesome.
Upon the metal, the vessel was by no means peaceful. High-velocity winds had threatened to blow Yui away like dust in the wind. It was a breeze so violent it was as if Yui was braving the darkest of storms on her own endeavor. If the girl wasn't careful, if she didn't keep her wings tucked tightly to her back, she would've been ripped from the craft upon launch. It was only thanks once again to training with her mother that she could endure such hardships. How had the girl hoped to find clarity though as the winds much like that of a storm bellowed in her eardrums? That one made a little less sense, something that no one would quite understand if Yui could even explain it. The winter-coated avian had a remarkable imagination and an even more uncanny ability to tune out the world. If the young Lioncourt wished not to smell, taste, or hear, her imagination was so strong that it was as if she could fabricate her own little world. By simply closing her eyes, it felt as if she transported herself to another plane of existence. It was a wonderous yet dangerous talent of hers, for it was far too easy to get lost in thought.
Unfortunately, the girl wasn't imagining a wonderland as she would've liked. Instead, it was mulling over recent developments over the past several weeks since the ball itself. First of all a sense of appreciation from her father's aid in recovering her eye. While the girl was initially opposed to any aid in her own failure, she found herself ever thankful that her father had been adamant in her recovery. While he left her with a series of scars on her face as a reminder of what happened, he still ensured that she'd be able to admire the bird's eye view from atop this craft. Being as prideful as she was, she'd only thank him, but never let on to how afraid she was to live with only have her vision. With only a single eye she surely would have never flown straight again. Each arrow shot would have been off, each strike with a blade would have missed. It likely would've taken her years to adapt her fighting style to such a change. That, however, was said and done, and the last concern on her mind. A matter far more pressing was the appearance of a Crow before her very eyes. A minutely detailed mask of brilliant silver adorning a cloak of pure ivory. On its chest was a turquoise gem that glistened under the moonlight, and from its back were the winter white wings of a Lioncourt. It was a woman, for certain, one that crushed dust in her palms in order to turn her body into the elements itself. It had been the first time one had approached her, but not the first time she'd seen one. The last time she saw such a terrifying thing was the night her brother was taken away from her. Sensui had been dragged just out of reach, leaving only his bow behind to never be seen again. If Sakura hadn't been by her side, Yui likely wouldn't have survived the encounter solely out of fear. For the first time in her life, she had frozen in place, stunned by fear. Sakura had given the frightened Lioncourt a reality check only after saving her life. It was only together the two had managed to fight off such a deadly foe. A fight that ended only in regrets for the winter haired girl. She didn't get to ask the questions she so desperately wanted answers to, nor was she able to avenge her brother. Even if she had managed to kill that Crow it wouldn't have been enough. Just from the frame alone, she knew that wasn't the same one that dragged him away. ... All she had afterward was a friend that finally understood the true danger that Yui had faced, why the girl had built her walls so high. Because eventually, they would come for her. And with what happened there, it showed that no one would be safe when they did.
It was hard to shake her disappointment with it all, but... What could she do now? Nothing. ... No, not nothing, just not as much as she wanted. Preparing was the only thing she could do at the moment, prepare and wait. Something that Sakura had agreed to do with her as well, despite her own assurances that she didn't need to risk her life. ... Right now, though, that wasn't important either. They had a mission at hand, a mission that could very well lead to the reclamation of a land long lost to the grimm. It was the very event that the hunters of tomorrow had thrived for in order to save the world from falling to darkness. Today was her first official mission since joining Beacon and she would not fail it at any cost. Not knowing that this assignment interested not only Beacon, but the military as well. While the military wasn't directly involved, she knew that if this mission amounted to anything, it would be the next stepping stone towards progression. Knowing that her mother may be waiting for results, she had to put forth her best. Strapped to her waist was a lightweight survival pack. Inside it, though plain, contained a series of survival snacks as well as a water pouch. Flares and a flashlight were unnecessary given her semblance and weapon, so she instead made room for additional first aid. There were some additional items buried in the pouch she hadn't found yet, but those were notably important. Her silver rings were polished, the metal bangles on her wrist rattling together. On her back were a quiver and a basic combat bow, often seen as her last resort if her ember weapons couldn't be used. Lastly, of course, she reserved her dust supply. Four fire, two explosives, one gravity, and one wind. Fire and explosive were the most useful to use with her weapon and semblance, but she knew it was best to keep some others in an emergency.
The lick of air like razors against her skin had softened. A bellowing storm against her eardrum had become nothing more than a whisper of the wind. It could only mean one thing; they were arriving at their destination. A soft sigh would escape the girl's lips, ivory threads continuing to bellow in the gust behind her. The craft had begun to shutter and creak as the bay doors began to open. It meant the others would jump soon, her retreat would be tainted by their cheers and shouts. So that only meant one thing, she had to move. They had a mission to start. Though as she rose to her feet and step forward towards the edge, her mind had wandered to the gravelly words of her own father. 'I've thought a lot about what you've told me, Yui. After an analysis, some similarities donned on me. What you're doing is similar to what certain nonavian may experience when in a high place. Its the thought of 'I could jump' when in a high place, then choosing not to and not doing it. Some of these have been associated with suicidal thoughts. Others have described it as a reality check, a reaffirmation for their appreciation of life. ... At least, in the best case scenarios. In both cases, though, its a sensation encountered often when presented with an option that could end their life. An instinct, or a confliction of both conscious and unconscious thoughts. 'I could jump, but I don't want to.' 'I want to jump, but I can't.' It's a phenomenon that's not understood but shared by many. ... It's something your aunt has experienced before, she called it...''.. l'appel du vide..' She would whisper beneath the breeze, the hum of the hovercraft obscuring any words that could have carried.
As the craft continued to move into position, Yui too had taken her steps. Steps that took her to the front of the hull to stand at the edge on her very tiptoes, ready to fall with teetering balance. A sight that would have been concerning for anyone if not for her wings. Pale blue hues would stare at the world below, her mind painting the scenery to memory. A crowd of lush green trees littering a plain of grass. A distant cave, grand in size as a gaping hole in the world. In the distance, she was certain she saw a lake, a vivid crystalline blue that would shimmer under the light. ' But... I can't help but be more concerned in your case, dear daughter. What you've described is closer to a gamble, pushing that lifeline to the limits of a split-second decision. How you described it, 'getting as close to the ground as possible before pulling back,' or more concerning: 'diving blind until I feel close to the ground.' are both incredibly unhealthy and risky... What would you do if you slipped up, even once? Just because you have the wings to push that sensation further doesn't mean you should. Perhaps its the adrenaline you experience during the dive, but that's no excuse for risking your life. .. Please.. If this sensation keeps persisting, tell either me or your teacher. ... No matter what your mother tells you, we are here to help you. Just... Remember that, okay? I don't.. I don't want a needless risk to take another child away..' It was the pleading words of her father that made her hesitate that last step forward, but only for a moment. A soft sigh escaped her lips as snow-lashes fell shut. ".. The call of the void.." One last whisper beneath her breath before she tipped forward, letting gravity claim her.
With her arms tucked at her side, shoulders forward and her wings tucked tightly against her back, the avian faunus would dive with absurd velocity. The wind would whistle madly through her feathers, her colors blurring together in a medley of blue and white as she rapidly dived towards the ground below. Even students that were now jumping out of the plane in their own splendorous stunts may have seen the winter-toned blur whizz right beside them. '... 8... 7... 6...' As mad as the dive was, Yui wasn't flying completely blind. Though her eyes were shut to the world, the seconds had ticked away in her mind. As a child of the sky who frequented a series of obscure stunts, tracking the time it took to reach the ground would come second nature. Aside from a few events with a unique individual or two, it was usually in these moments that she truly felt alive. Alive at the risk of losing it all in a matter of seconds, the only true act that could get her blood pumping. '..5 .... 4 .... 3... 2... ' The winged girl began to grit her teeth, her lips curling in. Razor like wings continued to lick her cheek, a pressure against her skin that felt rough and uncomfortable. All the while her hair would flail madly in the wind. All up until that final second when her eyelids finally shot open, revealing shallow pale blue pools reflecting the glossy green grass just beneath her nose. "One." With that, her wings would release as a burst like gust erupted from her flap. Grand white wing acting both as a parachute would beat against the ground, pushing Yui forward instead of down as she turned her frame to spiral and turn. In both a grand and elegant gesture, Yui would use the momentum she gained to change her course and loop in the direction of other students. In her line of sight, of course, was another white-winged faunus that she still had to grow accustomed too. The newest addition to team SLAR that she knew far too little about, aside from their own similarities.
Her momentum began to die during her soar just above the ground, slowing just enough for her to catch the heel of her foot into the earth. Coming to a stop near Skylar, the girl's grand winds would settle against her back. Blue hues fixated on her surroundings and the variety of students joining, her head would slowly pan for any semblance of order. She was interested in introducing herself to the forming crowd, but a large handful of students had yet to even land. Eventually, though, her gaze fell upon the cave. In everyone's excitement and all the noise they were making, she feared that they may have forgotten their briefing. They needed to be careful, as the first encounter with this chasm was with a wave of beowolves. "Before scouting ahead, I believe rendezvousing with the entire group is in our best interest. We need to go over our briefing and determine group formation. .. But.." Yui paused, having to remind herself to not completely dismiss the idea. She respected the suggestion. In fact, it was something that she was on board with herself. "Assuming all goes accordingly with our rendezvous, you and I are the best equipped for scouting. I wouldn't be opposed to joining if you'll have me Skylar." This was, of course, assuming that the rest of the group thought scouting was in their best interest. Fortunately, the cave itself seemed quite large. At least large enough for them to stretch their wings for a duration. Only time would tell, however, as they too needed the opinion of others... There may be a greater idea in the works among their leaders.

Ren was arriving in the same airship that held the rest of his team, buuuut he was too afraid to jump and had to wait for the airship ladder to be let down as he watched other airships arrive with their students and other teams. He looked over to Sakura for a second as the airship approached the meeting ground and soon enough, the bay doors opened and a nice rope ladder was released for Ren. He sighed in relief as he walked over and used it carefully to descend down to the cave entrance. He could see the other students disembarking from their airships in their own way before his own feet landed on the ground. He was being careful, if he stepped too hard, one of the dust clasps on his feet would go off too soon and he needed them to NOT break if they could. As he landed he noticed Yui falling from the sky!!! 'NOT YUI!' He mentally thought as he ran towards where he would presume she'd fall, expertly moving around the people as his ears were flicking around every which way before he saw her opening up a set of wings. He watched her glide slowly in her own way as he followed after her, trying to keep up with her.
So many people, it was definitely a party down here but they were on a mission! For what.... he had no clue, he was half asleep during the meeting and was told there'd be a party afterwards so he thought why the hell not and packed what he needed. He got into a brisk jogging pace, passing by everyone that was coming out before he got to be behind her, patting her back gently with his gloved hand as he smiled at her. "Hey Yui, glad to see you're all better." He told her, his face looked strangely a little paler than last time, he almost matched his winter coat of the hair and ears.

Auburn watched as, one by one, the others began to jettison from the craft. Two of them were excluded by her general impression of idiocy simply by the nature that they could fly on their own. And her own new teammate, Dee, seemed tough enough, though, she still thought poorly of his landing."Thanks for announcing us Dee."Just as she said that, the tree she'd impaled and more or less carved through with her own landing cracked loudly as the sound of tearing wood preceded it starting to tilt. She gave it a shove and it toppled away from the group.
She watched as the rest began to gather around The redhead with the harpoons grated her patience with how random and spontaneous she was in particular and then some boy who seemed like a wreck who addressed himself as Prince. But, there were two at least who either intrigued her or at least seemed sensible. One was the other winged girl, that a rather...boyish? Faunus boy called Yui, who seemed to be already considering how to proceed The other had a dog with him. His landing left a bit to be desired, but, he was quiet and calm and didn't seem to be the type to show off. The smaller winged girl got her thinking though. how many here had actually fought? As in, life or death? One could not know their limits until pressed, a savage lesson she'd learned long ago. It might prove more dangerous than the threat of Grimm. When Yui spoke up about needing to be briefed, Auburn planted her sword in the ground casually."Arguably, our first step should be to make sure we're all on the same page. Too many seem to be recklessly random or impulsive. Neither are good when trying to work as a team. Two jumped the second we were close, neither looked beforehand. We won't always be in a position to simply drop in to back you up."
