Ever since the atomic age began, the world has seen some crazy things. Scientists all around the world started to come up with new formulas or inventions - most of which the public never actually found out about. With it brought an increase of awakening what would later be called the X-gene. Not only were people being born with superhuman powers but there were others who, at one point in their life, gained them through various different mediums. Some had toxic waste accidents, others were bitten by experimental creatures, and others underwent far more painful procedures. However as far as the public was concerned they were the same. Anyone with superpowers was dangerous. As such, an organization created after World War II put them on an INDEX to be monitered.
Over the years some individuals on the INDEX proved to be just that - dangerous. Others ended up helping humanity. As time went on more and more people started to reveal themselves to the public and with them came the dawn of heroes. People like Ironman seemed to spring up over night and became instant hits with the population. But then there were those who weren't so lucky to be a billionaire playboy; like Bruce Banner's issues with green skin. Despite their differences many such people began to group together in this golden age. They took on the threats that became too much for SHIELD alone to handle.
Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. Seventeen years ago all of these heroes just vanished over night. The world which had started to accept them was deprived of all major superhuman groups all at once. No one knows where they went or why. In the void, chaos reigned but there is always hope for those that know where to look.

I can't stress this enough but communication and loyalty are the keys to keeping a roleplay alive. Both are equally important. Which is why I've set up a discord server for this roleplay. It is important that it's used as this will be the place where notices and updates will be placed. You do not need to participate in the voice options if you are not comfortable with that.

For the posts themselves, I would ask that you have three basic things in them aside from your writing. I would like to see a picture of your character, their name, and a general location. Just try to make sure that these are easily seen. It really does help keep track of everything. If you would like for me to make you a simple posting format once you've been accepted let me know and I'll get you something pretty quick.

Now onto the characters themselves. Everyone will be allowed to have two characters for now. If, in the future, this changes then I will let everyone know. You are allowed to have canon characters as long as they would make sense with this universe. Please remember the setting of the roleplay and keep in mind that some cartoon or comic based characters have powers may have to be scaled (generally down) to fit more this setting.

As for powers, all characters are allowed to have one power. There will not be secondary powers as of now. If you have a very broad power like Telekinesis or something like that, have them with more narrowed down techniques. For example my character has a variant of Interdimensional Psychokinesis which is a huge range. I made it so that her power has two main outlets - concussive blasts that can be used in various ways and unpredictability. Basically you can have what could be considered a huge power so long as you narrow it down in application and add weaknesses. For every technique or ability you should try to have one weakness or flaw.

This isn't exactly required but it would be neat if you could fill out stats for your characters. You can make it using a graphing system like I have on my profiles, or you can make it however you want. These are the 10 stat categories: Strength, durability, endurance, speed, reflexes, dexterity, intelligence, charisma, power, control. These stats would be on a scale from 1 to 10. 1 would be the average person, 2 would be adept at it/physically fit, 3 would be althlete level, 4 is extremely trained, 5 is the max capacity a human body can sustain. Think of 5 being Captain America for all things physical or Hank McCoy for intelligence. Obviously the scaling isn't perfect for the power and control portion but I hope that I can trust you guys to put some serious consideration into it given the setting. Again this is not a mandatory section for your profile but I think it's neat.

For your character's backgrounds and personalities...there is one thing I would ask that you try to keep in mind. I understand that creating a rebel or a loner is nice. And I don't like trying to tell people how to make their characters. I just want to remind you that you don't want to purposefully isolate your character and thus yourself. This is a roleplay. Our goal is to write together. Characters that would not work with another person, seek people out, or be recruited tend to be the ones isolated. Just keep that thought in mind while you make your character.

Simplest rule of them all is that we're using real images as face claims. Pick one that you think represents your character.
At the dawn of the creation of the universe, the first power created a race that would later be known as the Celestials. These beings aspired to have a universe that had sentient beings which, over time, improved upon themselves to one day create beings who could create their own universes. Due to their beliefs another creation called the Aspirants and the Celestials went to war with one another. Due to strife amongst their own ranks, the Aspirants lost to the Celestials. As a consequence of this war the multiverse was created. As life began to evolve as the Celestials hoped that it would, they visited many different planets in the universe as well as went throughout the 9 complete dimensions in the universe. What they found out was that each action seemed to cause another universe to spring into existent and thus creating infinite possibilities. however, they continued on with a plan of seeding the planets deemed fit for cultivating intelligent life. When their efforts started to pay off the Celestials visited the planets in all dimensions, in all universes that had the most potential. While there they worked on the genetic profiles for each species. The species that seemed to have the most potential out of all existence seemed to be the species that would later be known as humans of Earth. It is because of their genetic intervention that humans would later develop into what are known as Mutates or Mutants.
Thousand upon thousands of years after they came to Earth, deep in space the Kree and the Skrull began an ardous war. Many lives were lost on both sides as they tried to gain the resources and numbers to over power one another. In this scramble, the Kree discovered Earth and found traces of the Celestials on the world. Curious what the Celestials saw with the planet and the inhabitants they started their own experiments. Eventually they discovered that the potential that the Celestials saw and fostered could work to their benefit. By infusing some of their own DNA into them as well as making a select few undergo a catalytic process, they created the first Inhumans. The program, however, was deemed to be too dangerous as the Inhumans became hard to control. They abandoned the project and left the Inhumans to interbreed with the rest of the human population as they saw fit.
This wouldn't be the last time that the human population saw their planet play host to other species. Over the eons, other species visited. Among those were those from other dimensions (realms) such as the Asguardians. They were the ones to entrust the planet's low key profile to protect many different powerful artifacts such as the Tesseract - gems of power left over from the time of the Celestials. Artifacts such as these have created many a different wars on the planet as well as gave rise to many powerful individuals.

As time went on and humanity continued to move towards a higher enlightenment, the genetic potential that the Celestials laid in place started to appear in the form of Mutants and Mutates. One such Mutate, Johann Schmidt, became quite famous during World War II as the Red Skull. In order to combat him and his forces known as Hydra the United States government began work on the Super Soldier program. There were many failed examples but finally the scientists were able to produce one perfect specimen. Steve Rogers, dubbed Captain America, with the help of people like James Howlett and Bucky Barnes took down many of the camps that Hydra was using to experiment on people. One of these camps Including the one that Klause Schmidt was torturing and training a young man named Erik Lensheer was able to take the Tesseract away from Hydra and stop them from reshaping the world as they saw it. To do this, however, he sacrificed himself by crashing the plane into the ocean. His death spurred those he left behind to form an agency meant to protect the world against threats and objects they didn't understand - S.H.I.E.L.D
It was his efforts, his very being, however which also tempted many countries to try to make their own super soldiers. Almost all of them failed in one manner or another. There were three programs that came close. In America the Weapon program began to experiment on mutants to see if they could amplify or make the perfect soldier. The Soviet Union did something differently. They had two programs: The black widow and winter soldier programs both churned out successes in the form of Natalia Romanova and Bucky Barnes. It was during this age of scientific exploration that many things began to happen.

At the dawning of the Atomic age many new mutants started to come to the public's attention. One of these mutants, who later became known as Magneto, was part of the Cuban missile crisis in 1962. It was this that brought Mutants to the forefront of the government's attention. Despite SHIELD's attempts to protect the public, Mutants slowly started to be recognized by most industrial societies. Magneto once again made headlines for the death of the president of the United states JFK in 1963. What people weren't aware of was the fact that it was really the Winter Solider (Bucky Barnes) and Hydra that was behind it. Regardless, Magneto's team was hunted down and any that were found were exterminated. He was imprisoned in the pentagon for his crimes. Only a hand full of years later, during the end of the Korean DMZ Conflict, Trask and his company started to develop Sentinels to face down mutant issues. This peeked in 1973 when a newly freed Magneto targeted the US government as he feared that history was repeating itself. His actions only created more fear of the mutant populations. Luckily, due to the newly re-formed X-men counter balancing this fear, the Sentinel program was shut down.
Unfortunately due to the events, Stryker was able to attain James Howlet to forcefully put through the Weapon Program. He became the most successful agent and was dubbed as Weapon X. Meanwhile scientists like Hank Pym discovered what he called the Pym Particle and Howard Stark and Anton Vanko developed the Arc Reactor in the 1970's. Soon after that, Stark Industries unveiled the Arch Reactor as a clean source of energy. It was not all good news in this decade however as the first Wasp faded from existence while trying to disarm a bomb thanks to the Pym particles.
Years later with the fall of the Soviet Union in the 90's, Natalia was able to escape and re-branded herself as Natasha. She was targeted by an Agent of SHIELD called Barton (also known as Hawkeye). With his help she became part of the agency and quickly rose through the ranks due to her training in the Red Room. Nearly at the same time that occurred, the Earth underwent yet another scare. This time a group with a technopath leading them gained access to all the nuclear warhead codes and launched them into atmosphere. With the help of Magneto they were able to stop the radical group from 'wiping clean' the face of the world. It was because of this crisis that Hank Pym discovered that SHIELD had been trying to replicate his technology. He resigned from the organization. Once this scare died down Magneto and Xavier went back to the academy to teach the new generation of mutants how to control their gifts. Sadly this partnership could not last more than a decade before their ideals split them from one another once again.
Even at the start of the new millennium, Tony Stark had already made a name for himself in the scientific world. However his partying ways made it hard to get a hold of him for any real discussion. It was because of this that Hansen and Killian got a hold of him at a party to talk about an Extremist program - yet another incarnation of the Super Soldier Serum. He was able to help Hansen solve her formula but did not choose to participate with them. Killian and Hansen weren't the only busy scientists. In 2005 Banner was working with Gamma radiation. His research lead to him having to mutate in order to avoid dying. Which ended up with him becoming the Hulk and going on the run. Bruce Banner wasn't the only person to mutate during this time. In 2006 A young child named Matt Murdock lost his sight due to harsh chemicals. His body adapted to make up for the loss sense.
Four years later in 2010, Stark had made such a name for himself that the Ten Rings (an Islamic terrorist group) kidnapped him to forge weapons. While captured he injured and had to create a miniaturized Arc Reactor to help him escape. After he escaped he created the first Ironman suit. It wasn't too long until Ivan Vanko, far more prepared to deal with him than the Ten Rings, came along in 2012. He proved that Tony's technology didn't make him untouchable. He wasn't the only one who was proven to not be as untouchable as people might have believed. In the Southwest of the United States, Thor was cast down to Earth to learn some humility. During which time the director of SHIELD named Nick Fury approached Tony Stark. What Stark had been unaware of was that SHIELD had been monitoring him for a while. They had even put one of their best agents (Natasha) in his service to determine if he was suited to a new program that SHIELD was putting together. The Avengers. Tony refuses to cooperate with Nick Fury at first.
Meanwhile just a month or two later in 2012 in Rochina, Rio de Janairo, Banner faces Blonsky who was made into the Abomination under the direction of General Ross. He wasn't the only one being attacked at that point either. Back in the United states, Tony had to face off against Vanko's army with Rhodey. However, in order to solve his health issues he had to discover a new element to be the core of for his Arc Reactor. He's not the only one discovering things as Coulson can attest to - Thor is being a busy boy trying to regain Mjolnir. Thankfully by the time that the Thor issue was solved, Stark finally agreed to be a SHIELD consultant.
In 2012 during the wake of Puente Antiguo, Fury holds a Massive S.H.I.E.L.D meeting where he announces an agency-wide re-focusing towards extraterrestrial defenses. At this same time a plane containing Captain America is discovered. After his discovering, Dr. Erik Selvig began work with the Tesseract with project PEGASUS. A year of peace passed before the next big disaster hit in 2013. Loki came with the T'chari in tow. His actions actually have the opposite affect by binding the Avengers together. Together they were able to stop the invasion. This wouldn't be the last invasion, but it was the first. Not even a year later in 2014, Thor stopped a species from another realm from invading. While this was happen, Coulson (who was previously thought to have died) was undergoing an extremely controversial experiment. He was brought back to life with the TAHITI project - a project that was meant to bring back fallen Avengers. This revival would have unforeseeable consequences as those who took part started to go insane with the need to draw what looked to be alien writing. Which was why the project was supposed to have been shut down but Nick reinstated it just for Coulson.
Back in the united states, New York City was dealing with a new criminal mastermind with the King Pin. On the grand scale of things, however, this is fairly small. Especially compared to the fact that Steve Rogers was reunited with Bucky Barnes in a very unpleasant way. Shortly after that HYDRA was exposed as being a part of SHIELD in 2015. As SHIELD fell, Coulson and his team had to struggle with the changes while still trying to defend the world. The other issue that they had to deal with was that they finally solved the mystery of the TAHITI project. Not only that but shortly after they discovered the whole concept of In humans as well as a small earth settlement made up of nothing but those with activated Kree DNA. Soon enough a good portion of the continental North America was affected by terrogenisis in 2016; creating more Inhumans and groups to experiment on them as well as natural born humans.
World leaders met to discuss the problem of the mutants, mutates and inhumans. What they didn't understand was that groups like the Brotherhood, X-men, HYDRA, and SHIELD actually helped to reduce the troubles. Without them history could have been much bleaker. All they saw was that people with powers seemed to be abusing them. Magneto also felt the hostility coming from those in power and decided to act upon it in late 2018. He built a machine to trigger dormant X-genes in individuals and he planned to use it on the world conference. Due to the X-men's interventions he failed. What didn't fail was a group of scientists' attempt to delve into another dimension, at least not entirely. They succeeded and in doing so, five people turned into Mutates because of the energy. After dealing with one of their own the remaining four took on the title of the Fantastic Four.
It was perhaps situations like these that fueled Tony Stark's anxiety. As the X-men took care of Magneto he was battling with his own inner demons. Eventually his inner demons took the form of Ultron in early 2019 and the entire Avengers assembly was required to bring him down. In this skirmish a new entity named Vision was born. Emboldened by the increasing anxiety in the United States, Stryker finally attacked the X-mansion in 2020. He kidnapped multiple students as he tried to figure out a way to 'cure' the world of mutation. In the end he figured that he could use Xavier's mind to wipe out anyone with superhuman powers - mutant, mutate, and inhuman alike. This attempt to wipe out many people all at once was thwarted with the X-men who had the help of Magneto. Unfortunately the damage was done as people realized how effective mutant powers could be. During this time of realization, Scott lang took over the mantle of Antman.

Barely months after the events at Sokavia and Alcalide lake, the United States tried to pass a long requiring all superhumans to register. This caused not only a division in the Avengers which lead to them fighting one another. They recruited many other people to help them but in the end no one was the winner. Not only did it cause strife with the Avengers but the Registration act that would be imposed by the Sokavian accords caused the Brotherhood to rise up once more. Time and time again the Brotherhood struck back against the areas the government set up for registration. Even the X-men and other superhero groups couldn't deter them. It wasn't just Magneto that was outraged with what had been planned. Many mutants and mutates took up arms against the government that wanted to register and regulate their daily lives.
What people didn't know was that a research organization had finally found a way to suppress the mutant gene. The only issue was that it didn't seem to affect mutants that had already expressed their X-gene the same way as it did those who had yet to gain their powers. For those who had activated their X-gene the most it did was weaken it; if they were able give low doses to children who were not yet born, or those who did not yet express the X-gene at the time they'd started the regiment, they had a 65% chance of the x-gene remaining dormant. And for those that were expressed they were much weaker than those that were born before them. For those who had already expressed their X-gene it lowered the chance of the x-gene being passed on as well as lowered the power of the abilities compared to those who were not on the regiment. With all of this data the unnamed team decided to put this into the public water supply all over the world. And eventually the chemical compounds got into almost all water supplies - including in the arctic and the atmosphere.
Then there was a week at the end of September without attacks in 2022. It was almost like the world held it's breath. During this week, key figures from all over the world went missing. Captain America was gone, Tony Stark had vanished...all of the noted figures of the Avengers disappeared without a trace. Not only them but the Fantastic Four and the X-men as well as head figures from the Brotherhood had also disappeared. After the week searches for the missing heroes began. Every investigation lead to a dead end. No one could find a trace of them. Shortly after they were declared missing, superpower crime shot through the roof. Without those groups to keep them in check, the people with nefarious intentions had their time to shine. It was a year of blood and pain as agencies tried to keep up with the influx of crime.
New and old groups came back. One such group was the Weapon program that trained soldiers how to deal with mutants. Another was Trask industries which re-branded itself to create the Sentinel Service. They are like the FBI in jurisdiction except that a lot of their work falls under the Patriot act laid down after 9/11 as well as the Sokavian accords. What that means is that the moment anyone exhibiting superhuman powers damages public property, they are charged with a felony. If they hurt anyone in doing so it's an almost guaranteed life sentence.
What the world didn't realize was that the week the heroes went missing, it was the last week that any new mutant had been born. In other words the last mutant would have been born September 30th, 2022. It also means that for fifteen years the world has not seen the heroes of the Golden Age. For fifteen years the drugs have piled up in peoples's systems; creating mutants with lesser powers instead of the renown mutants of the Golden Age. No new Mutates have been created since then. No new Inhumans have undergone terragenesis. The world still has trouble dealing with the ones that are alive today...but what they don't yet realize is that superhumans were a line of defense that they took for granted. Now that the line of defense has been weakened there's no telling what can happen.
And now the year is 2037 2038.

This company once was a subsidiary of Stark Industries. It was one of the biological research companies allied with the United States government right before World War II. When the war broke out they started turning their attention to genetics and biochemical enhancement to see if there was a way to help their soldiers against the Germans and HYDRA. Eventually a doctor named Reinstein developed a formula that lead to the creation of Captain America. Unfortunately as the war progressed and Reinstein died, taking the formula with him, the company turned to more experimentation. After the wars a man named Stryker joined the organization and began the Weapon's Plus program to try and recreate the company's first and only successful super soldier. It wasn't until after the Korean conflict that they were successful with their 10th try - Weapon X, otherwise known as James Howlet who would go on to be known as the Wolverine. After other failed programs they continued the X series. Seventeen years ago they were able to get to the 23rd experiment in the X program before Stark Industries finally shut them down...officially.

HYDRA was an authoritarian terrorist-criminal-paramilitary organization bent on world domination. It was founded in ancient times, formerly as a cult centered around the fanatical worship of Hive, a powerful Inhuman that was exiled to the planet Maveth by ancient Inhumans. Ever since his banishment, the cult had been determined to bring him back to Earth to commence a planetary takeover. Over the centuries, the cult evolved, taking many forms, with its most recent incarnation coming into existence shortly after the rise of Nazism in Germany under the leadership of Johann Schmidt as the scientific branch of the Nazi. After its defeat at the hands of Captain America in 1945 and the subsequent disappearance of Johann Schmidt, HYDRA was secretly rebuilt inside S.H.I.E.L.D. by Schmidt's top scientist Arnim Zola. By the beginning of the 21st century, operatives of HYDRA managed to spread outside of S.H.I.E.L.D., infiltrating many important organizations, including the United States Government and the World Security Council, eventually establishing many secret bases around the world. One of HYDRA's top agents in S.H.I.E.L.D., John Garrett, secretly led the Centipede Project with the goal to recreate the Super Soldier. In 2014, HYDRA's plans for world domination almost succeeded through their agent Alexander Pierce and S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Project Insight. However, their plan to eliminate 20 million people who posed a threat to HYDRA failed because of the efforts of HYDRA's oldest enemy, Captain America, who publicly exposed their infiltration of S.H.I.E.L.D. With its existence publicly known, HYDRA started a war against the remnants of S.H.I.E.L.D.Two of the few remaining HYDRA leaders, Grant Ward and Gideon Malick, joined forces to rebuild HYDRA, destroy S.H.I.E.L.D., and bring Hive back to Earth. Hive eventually left HYDRA to perish in the military campaign led by Brigadier General Glenn Talbot. Since then HYDRA has been silently behind the scenes.

The Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, better known by its acronym S.H.I.E.L.D., is a United States extra-governmental military counter-terrorism and intelligence agency, tasked with maintaining global security. Founded in the wake of the Allied victory over the Axis powers and HYDRA in World War II, S.H.I.E.L.D. was organized to protect the United States, and later the entire world, from all possible threats. Through the actions of Captain America, the world became aware of the fact that S.H.I.E.L.D. was infiltrated and largely controlled by the terrorist organization HYDRA. Many S.H.I.E.L.D. officials were taken into custody and subjected to rigorous questioning. However, despite the massive manhunt on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s agents, a few operatives scattered across the world in most secret bases remained loyal to their oath, saving the most necessary paraphernalia for future use. However, after successfully working together to attack and destroy the Arctic HYDRA Research Facility, Coulson and Robert Gonzales successfully merged what remained of S.H.I.E.L.D. But the peace did not last long, as the Inhumans, a super powered humanoid race led by Jiaying, declared war on S.H.I.E.L.D. The fight was short and S.H.I.E.L.D. was able to prevent any further damage. After the war, Coulson started a new program of recruiting and training Inhumans for a team to deal with various threats.With HYDRA suffering a crippling blow, S.H.I.E.L.D. became aware about the dark Inhuman, Hive, and soon had to fight against his Inhuman army. In the aftermath of Hive's defeat, S.H.I.E.L.D. was once again legalized following the signing of the Sokovia Accords. Following Holden Radcliffe's betrayal for the Watchdogs and the replacement of almost every key agent by an LMD by him, Agents Johnson and Jemma Simmons entered the Framework in order to rescue their missing friends. Despite the operation's success, they soon had to deal against Aida, who became an Inhuman seeking to destroy S.H.I.E.L.D. With the help of Ghost Rider they killed her, but it caused the organization's shutdown.
Officially the Sentinel Services wasn't founded until well after the Sokavian Accords. However, it does have it's roots in history. In the 1970's, Bolivar Trask designed a device which could detect and effectively track those with the mutated X Gene. With government funding he built mechanical sentinels to protect the population against what he perceived as the mutant thread. Or at least that's what he said. When his sentinels were used against them, however, and it was up to mutants to save the president and the cabinet his program was completely shut down. The technology was put underground and thought to have been buried. Until Bolivar Trask's grandson used the fear of mutant attack to regain funding and support. He merged completely with the government to form the branch currently known as Sentinel Services. Now they do routine genetic scanning of at-risk areas to identify mutants. They are also the ones called in when mutants, mutate, or Inhuman use their powers in public. With the Registration, Accords, and Patriot Act supporting their actions, Sentinel Services seems to have full legal discrepancy to treat any superpowered individual as subhuman.

Following the Inhuman Outbreak, the Watchdogs formed negative opinions of the superpowered individuals in general, and regularly posted these opinions on the internet. Some criminal organizations, such as the Aryan Brotherhood and Chinatown Crew started to work for the Watchdogs for the money. Senator Ellen Nadeer funded some of the Watchdogs to a global attack on the Inhumans with advanced equipment. They put EMP devices in several major cities in the world,[6] and the list of Inhumans they got from S.H.I.E.L.D. The agents found the EMP device and light the city back. Since then they have been doing anything they can to make life miserable for anyone found to have mutations or powers. This includes both legal routes as well as illegal ones.
In the last seventeen years since the Brotherhood and the X-men disappeared without warning, the Mutant Underground has arisen to try and help superpowered people get out of bad situations. They were formed from what remained of the brotherhood, students of the x-men, morlocks, and whomever they could recruit. When needed they will take in people and help them get new identities as well as smuggle them across the boarders. In some cases some of the older, more experienced mutants, will help train younger mutants so that they can control their powers. However, without proper funding or facilities what they can do is limited. And without strong leadership, they have no future goals or direction. They are a band-aide to a broke pipeline but for now they're all the hope that superpowered individuals really have.

For the application - You do not have to have the complete profile done. I just want you to have a link that everyone can view. The only section that you need completed upon reserving your character is the power section. This power section should include what the power is, all the techniques they can use with it, and a healthy section of faults or weaknesses in their ability.
Once you fill out the reserve coding post it to this (the recruitment) thread. Please put it into a code box so that I can easily copy and paste it. Also, be open to talk about the character or powers. Most of the time if I come to you with a question it's just cause I want to understand something better. Other times there might need to be more weaknesses or flaws. Keep in mind that each character only gets 1 power.
The format is up to you. However, it needs to have the following information:
โข Introduce their name and age along with if they're a mutant, mutate or Inhuman. โข Have a section for their power. This should include any techniques as well as weaknesses. โข Have a section for any specific skills, training, or education they've received. โข Their Stats as detailed in the rule section. (Optional) โข Biography. This should include how they grew up, when their powers appeared, what happened when they did, and what they are currently doing. โข Relationship section (optional)

The Mutant Underground Headquarters Is the base of operation for Thunderbird's cell of the Mutant Underground. The Headquarters is based in an abandoned Bank and serves as a safe haven for Mutants to hide from Sentinel Services. It is located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Located in Manchester, New York this estate dates back to before World War I. Over the years the original building has been added to at the owner's leisure. At one point it served as a private school for the gifted; a nice way to say mutant. The estate also served another purpose. It was where the X-men lived and trained. However, it has remained empty and dormant for the last seventeen years under the trust of the McTagger family (specifically an elderly woman named Moira and her son). Until Xavier or proven blood kin returns to claim the trust and the estate it will remain with it's guardian. Moira and her son use the family trust funds to maintain it in hopes that one day the X-men will return.
Three Mile Island is a nuclear power plant located in the Susquehanna River, south of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. During the 1970s, it served as a mutant prison run by William Stryker and his team of scientists, where they experimented on and combined the mutants' powers for the Weapon X program. It was officially shut down seventeen years ago. However, some people say that they still hear things coming from deep inside of the reactor that they can't explain.
