His body acts as a container for photon-rich energy. In fact, his blood can be dangerous for most people to touch as it contains energy which can cause mild to moderate burns depending on the level of exposure. His skin is very heat resistant. The skin from his elbows down, however, is heat retardant as that's where his energy pools when he releases it.
Techniques:
โFlash - he can produce a constant or strobe bright light from his hands.
โHeat - by controlling the amount of energy pulsing out of his hands, Marcos can warm people or objects up with his hands. This can range from a gentle heat all the way up to cooking someone from the energy from his hands.
โLaser - By funneling the energy he can shoot lasers of solar energy which can either cut through or melt most objects.
โLight - Marcos can create bright flashes of lights from his hands. This light can be used to momentarily stun people as they'd be unable to see past the light, or he can use it in more damaging ways by increasing the intensity to permanently burn people's retinas.
โAbsorption - Marcos first has to absorb solar energy to dispel it. That also means that if he concentrates he can willingly pull in light from areas.
Weaknesses:
โSunlight - he has to be exposed to sunlight for his cells to gain the photons he uses with his powers.
โTemperature - due to the way energy disperses, temperatures under freezing makes it extremely difficult to utilize his powers to their full effect.
โWounds - Because of the way that his blood cells admit ambient energy when exposed to oxygen, wound care can be tricky with him.
โExhaustion - Marcos' powers take a physical toll on his body. The different abilities he uses does different things. Using the heat beams or lasers from his hands can give him a sort of power-high, causing manic behavior that often leads to some bad decisions. Actively absorbing solar energy is strenuous and is often quiet painful. When he overuses his powers he is physically weakened as well.
Skills:
โEducation - He has the equivalence of a junior high education level. He is fluent in both Spanish as well as English.
โTraining - Most of his training was done with the drug cartel. In the last few years he has been working with Polaris and Thunderbird.

Marcos was rejected by his human parents as soon as his abilities started to manifest when he was nearing puberty around twelve years old. Forced to leave home, he spent a while on the streets. In fact while most teenagers worried about their classes, Marcos was worrying about where to find somewhere safe for the night. Most of which were spent in cardboard boxes. After a while he fell in with the wrong crowd and grew up smuggling drugs from Mexico to the United States.
He became involved with his employer's daughter, Carmen Guerra. Even by the age of Thirteen he proved himself resourceful and useful to the Cartel. Marcos soon began to be treated as a valued member of the family, but that changed when he met Polaris. What happened was that he attracted the attention of the authorities and when he got sloppy they cornered him. That was how he got onto the Mutant Underground's radar. About three years ago, Polaris and John approached him to join the Mutant Underground. It was a notion that he rejected and first but came around to in the end as he had started to question what the Cartel was doing.
He fell in love with Lorna and decided to leave the Cartel for good so that he could join the Mutant Underground, utilizing all his foreign contacts into smuggling mutants instead of drugs. He permanently joined the Underground helping to smuggle mutants to safety in Mexico. Over the years he and Polaris have grown closer; if it wasn't for the fact that they were fugitives they might actually get married.
This guy right here has to be one of the most serious people I've met in a long time. He takes his job seriously which, in our line of work, is a good thing. But the only time I've really ever seen him do much is when he has to fight. So we haven't really gotten much time to just hang out and get to know eachother.
Jasper "JAS" Croft
Met him at the crash site along with alien girl. He seems to be pretty cool; given that he's a mutant he understood my need to get away from the crash urgently. And he turned out pretty helpful with having a couple extra plates in his van to hook up to his and my truck. Overall the man's alright.

Lorna "Polaris" Dane
Lorna is pretty much the only reason that I joined the Mutant Underground to begin with. Before she came into my life and reminded me that god hasn't abandoned us, maybe more like he's just testing us, I was headed down a really dark path with the cartel. But she was the one who showed me and reminded me that my powers aren't just for hurting people, that something beautiful could come from them. As she got me into the underground and taught me about what it was like to actually help people again, I couldn't help but fall in love with her. She was so strong and determined where I was weak, she was optimistic about what we could do and who we were. It was this sort of iron will that I fell in love with.
Carol "CAPTAIN MARVEL" Danvers
Vers is an interesting woman. To start off with we found her in a crash - a spaceship crash. Then I go to find out she's actually part Kree. And yeah, that's an alien. Which is enough to make anyone have plenty of questions. That's not the end of it though since she's apparently stuck fifteen years in the past too. Seems to be a reoccuring theme lately. Yet despite her hitches she seems to be a pretty stable and reasonable lady. In time she might even be the kind of rock that the MU needs, just like John.
Alexandria "LEX" Jacinto
So let's just mention the fact that this kid is Carmen's daughter and had been sent from her mother to get some training on her powers. Carmen, of course, is the leader of the same Cartel that I got caught up in. If that's not enough to throw a web of doubts over any relationship let's add on the fact that this girl has a fiery temper. She reminds me a lot of a younger version of me - angry at the world. Considering that she actually has a fire based mutation I feel like she's going to need a lot of attention to get things under wraps. Unfortunately for the girl she came in at a really bad time and seems to have a grudge against me. Don't know why - I've hardly spoken to her.

He's good to have around in a pinch and he's very loyal. There's not much that I wouldn't trust to Vincent.
