  A B S O R B T I O NRogue is a mutant who possessed the ability to absorb the emotions, memories, special abilities, personality, vitality, and outward physical characteristics of other beings through skin-to-skin contact. In some extreme cases those aspects which she absorbs are taken from the original host and transferred to her.
T E C H N I Q U E S× Emotions, Memory absorption, and Personality adaption - Rogue can absorb what is most prevalent on someone's mind. The longer she holds on, the more memories that are connected to the situation that she gets. The more she absorbs, the more of their personality and preferences she takes on from them. Which helps her to decipher the memories that she gained.
× Absorption of Special Abilities - She can absorb anyone's special abilities for a short amount of time; 60x the length that she held on to a person. Example: If she holds on to them for 5 seconds, she has their ability for 5 minutes. As she absorbs them from the person she knows how to control them on a very basic level. These abilities can be mutant, mutate, or race based abilities.
× Amount of Absorption - As of now she's found that she can hold less than she used to be able to - only two people's at a time (not including her own innate one). When she first joined the x-men there was no limit to the amount she could hold at one time.
Physical Appearance Adaptation - If someone's abilities or mutations are dependant on their physical body, her body too will change to match. This means that she can get stronger and faster on a physical level if that's what the person she absorbed had.
× Vitality Absorption - Rogue can temporarily sap someone of their energy by touching them for a short amount of time; especially if they are not a mutant. This burst of energy and vitality is given to her. Those she touch loose energy. Some become so weak that they pass out.
× Telepathic Shield - Due to the factored psyches within her mind, even if they've faded from conscious use, Rogue's mind can not be read by telepaths. This is because she doesn't have just one mind in her head but an amalgamation of her own as well as everyone she's ever touched and so her brain does not work like the average person. Strong telepaths, like Charles Xavier, would still have a difficult time within her mind but it is not impossible for him to get through to her with time and effort.
W E A K N E S S E S× Absorption - Rogue is unable to turn off her ability. Any and all skin contact activates her powers. She does not get to choose what she absorbs directly. She can hold on for different lengths of time to absorb more, or hold on for less to absorb less. However, this connection is almost magnetic and it is hard even for her to draw away quickly. The powers she absorb do not wane the closer to the time limit she gets so she has no warning as to when they will stop.
× Emotion, Memory absorption, and personality adaptation - She isn't a telepath by any means; she has no way to control what she does and does not absorb. A lot of the time she absorbs more than she can actually summon by herself. This tends to come secondary to the powers or abilities she gains from those that have them. As for the adapting some of the personality traits from people this can often have a polarizing effect and make it hard to keep up with her if she absorbs too many at one time. In fact, if she holds on for too long she can absorb a shadow of their psyche. This psyche often struggles with in her for control. As of now she hasn't held on to anyone long enough so that their psychic shadow has remained with her for more than two weeks.
× Absorption of Special Abilities - She has to learn how to control any ability she gains from a person beyond the basic level. If she holds on to a person for too long, this can cause the person she's holding to lose their ability for a short amount of time. With ally's this can cause issues. She can not pick and choose what she absorbs - if she absorbs one power, she gets all of them as well as the side effects of said abilities.
× Physical Appearance Adaptation - Her body has to change rapidly and this can be very taxing on her energy levels. It causes her no pain but recently (though she doesn't know it) it does fatigue her at a much more rapid rate.
× Vitality Absorption - this affects allies as well as foes.
× Telepathic Shield - this also stops allies from helping her as much as it stops enemies from hurting her.
× Mental state - the more people she absorbs in a short time, the more likely Rogue is to loose her sense of self. If she absorbs too many people too quickly she can easily become confused and completely believe she is one person or another. Sometimes she still feels those she's had long contact are still in the back of her mind fighting for some sort of control. And most of the time these figures give her nightmares and flashbacks strong enough to affect her considerably throughout the day.
S K I L L S× Education - She graduated from High School after joining the X-men but has not had any more formal education.
× Training - While attending high school, Rogue trained with the X-men. She trained in battle field management. She trained along side her fellow mutants and learned how to use their abilities beyond a basic level. However, it has been a long time since she had had to use them and so she would be very rusty.
× Strategy - Given the fact that she herself is not an offensive player, Rogue has learned to see battles and strategy from various viewpoints. That way she can adapt her actions towards whatever position she has to act in or make decisions for. Because of this, she's become quite the strategic player.

  I was born as Anna Marie D'Ancanto. My last name isn't important 'cause I don't go by it any more. My parents threw me out and I've spent enough tears crying for them.
After they kicked me out when my powers first emerged, I traveled up the rocky mountains and into Canada where I met a man they called the Wolverine. I saved his life - or so I keep teasing him. We traveled together for a bit until a man named Magneto came after us. Then we were rescued by the X-men and I got to see what being around kids my own age, being around other mutants, was like. Guess you could say I fell in love with it. Right up to the point where Logan stabbed me and I borrowed his powers. I know it was Mystique, now, who got inside my head but at the time I thought all the other kids at the school hated me for using my mutant powers on another one of us.
I ran away from the school and to a train station. Logan came after me but by the time he convinced me to think about it again, it was too late. Magneto had come after us. Come after me. He took me to Ellis Island and used my powers to draw his own out of him so I could power the machine instead. That's where I got my hair color, if you're wondering. He nearly drained the life out of me trying to activate dormant X-gene inside of the world leaders. Thankfully the X-men came to help.You could say that I owe them my life because it'd be true. Honestly, it's just easier to pin it all to Logan. Without his healing factor, even with all the x-men there, I would have died. As it was, I nearly killed him reviving myself.
So yeah, I got attached. It nearly broke my heart when he left the Academy to go find out answers. Good thing he came back soon. Though he brought his own troubles with him. A man named Stryker had some issues with us. He took the mansion and forced us to flee. Our retreat didn't last that long because with a bit of luck we were able to take down his operations. At the last second, Magneto showed that he wasn't such a bad man and helped Jean Gray get out of the water before it overtook her by wrapping a metal coil around her body and pulling her up. I hate the man for what he did to me and I distrusted mystique despite the fact that I later learned she was one of the first x-men. But the professor welcomed him back in a way. He began to help the x-men with little ventures and protected the mutants outside of our borders. But he was still the leader of the brotherhood and an all round villian so helping those mutants generally meant he used violence.
Stryker wasn't the last thing that the X-men had to deal with. Thankfully though, it was the last thing that resulted in violence on a grand scale. Not that we have ever stopped training for the troubles that may lay ahead. Mostly it was to help with us to control our mutant powers. But what did I have to learn to control? I was always the danger element to the team - the one that was more risk than help. The most I could do was learn how to control the abilities of those around me.
I didn't have much time to do that before...whatever happened, happened. All I remember is seeing a sort of light based being and then I woke up in the mansion by myself. That was a year ago. Since then I've found out that the x-men have vanished along with any other super powered group. Which means that with them went Magneto; for that I was glad. Unfortunately without the x-men and the professor around there was no reason for me to stay around the mansion. My presence was noticed by the security system but by the time anyone got there I was already gone.
I returned to my traveling. This time I headed home. I haven't had the courage to approach the people that were my parents at one time. After all this time, their rejection still hurts. Because of that, I go by the name Anna Marie Logan and not with my birth last name. Logan was more of a father to me than my own for years. Since I made my way back down the states I've stuck to the shadows and kept up a small time waitress job at a sort of bar. The man who runs it, Michael, is real nice. I make enough to rent a small studio near work. And since I'm just a waitress a lot of people say a lot of things when they think I'm not paying attention so I'm able to keep up with a lot more than I ever thought I would.
