She hadn't expected to pull a weapon out of the pool, or the memory to trickle in like a light through the haze. She had been so preoccupied with the thought of ever forgetting Milo or Evan or Shu in the first place that she hadn't heard the call from her weapon.
It felt alive on her arm, as if it had a heart and soul and she was just holding it. She laid her other hand on it, but it felt like the cold metal it birthed from.
Perhaps she imagined it? Or perhaps the coolness was part of the weapon itself.
It seemed to react to that thought and had her turning it over on her arm.
"I see. You will be my friend then." She didn't know if the weapon responded or not. "And if you are my friend, I suppose you should have a name!" So quick to assume it was okay.
A name floated to her, like a soothing drop of rain and made her smile.
"I see, So Brishen. Like the rain." She wondered what it meant. "thank you for choosing me, Brishen!"
