There’s a strange, bright star over the Kawani lands. It’s a rare sight, and legend has it that the star can grant a few select Soquili a special wish. Head up to the top of the hill, place a small offering on the altar, and make your wish. Is it a wish for love, a child, a friend or even someone long lost? Think carefully about your wish, however, as you only get to make one!
This is a paid wishing star. This Wishing Star is 6k per Soquili. Being covered by someone lovely who wishes to remain anonymous <3

Oct 24th update!: There are several new slot-types in this wishing star! 1. Rogue breedings are now available (with only one parent) in the extra gift slots! 2. Loyal companion slots are up for familiars. These are similar to true friend slots but for familiars! 3. Spooky twists (with the possibility of mutations) are now allowed for this star - simply add the modifier form for a chance at them (like in twisted breedings).

The Rules (Blatantly stolen from Thamin)
Rule additions/changes (these override anything stated in the original rules below!):
1. You can enter for familiar slots in addition to soquili slots! (ex. if you want a true friend soq, and you want a loyal companion familiar, you can post both forms and be entered for both lists!)
2. As with soquili, you can only enter for familiar slots if you did not win a paid familiar this month!
3.Re: LOVEMATES & Miracle Babies: I am willing to accept miracle baby entries for non-RPed lovemates IF: (1) they have been lovemated before this thread was created, and (2) there is one RP made before 11:59pm EST on October 25th (yes, this deadline is after the star opens, but get the RP ASAP if you need it)! - - - - - The RP doesn't have to be complete, but it has to meet the requirements listed below (word count, obvious couplehood, etc.) - - - - - The entire word count doesn't have to come from the couple! Family, friends, etc. involved can count toward the word count!
4. You can now enter with only a single parent for the extra gift slots as a 'rogue breeding'. The resulting child will have random traits mixed in from their 'mystery' parent!
5. You can opt in to receive spooky twists to your ponies, similar to the twisted breedings! These are applicable to every type of slot, simply post the modifier form for a chance at them. This gives you a chance to gain mutant traits as well.
1. Post in this thread only for your entries. PM Strifeling or the shop mule if you have any questions.
2. Any breed can enter, provided they're not a skinwalker. Absolutely no Skinwalkers are allowed to enter a Wishing Star!
3. When designing foals or adults, colorists are allowed to design anything up to rare breeds without limitation. If they would like to make a super-rare (angeni or ulun'suti), they have to be either half-breeds or mixed breeds. Pure, super-rare offspring will not be allowed. Mutants are also not allowed. These aren't customs or traditional breeding slots, so all prizes are CC and completely up to the colorist.
4. This is a paid raffle. This means that if you've won a paid pony for the month of October (not including customs), you are not eligible to enter. Sorry! If you've won a freebie, you're good to go!
5. When picking a wish, you must be wishing from the perspective of a soquili that you own; however, you can be wishing for a prize you intend to give to a friend for RP. Exception: With the "Miracle Baby"/"Extra Gift" you may post another persons soquili provided that all the appropriate permissions have been posted.
6. When referring to another person's soquili for the Miracle Baby have them post in this special Permissions Thread if you have not lifemated the couple. If they are lifemated, please just post the lifemates listing.
7. If your wish is granted, it is your choice to keep your prize, co-own it, or give it away to a friend. This does not count for more traditional breeding raffle slots!
8. All children granted will be considered and labeled 1st Gen Mockbreeding Children of the couple. These are gifts from the spirits, not biological children.
9. You may edit your post until closing. If you change what catagory you are wishing for, however, please Void your previous post (by striking it out, not deleting it) and Post the appropriate form indicating your change along with your new entry so that it doesnt get missed!
10. If you are making a "long lost family member" wish - the soquili making the wish must be 1st generation. Otherwise, it implies a breeding of one of the parents or other relatives that is likely owned by someone else and might interfere with their histories/backstories of their soquili.
11. You may only enter or be entered for one Wish.
12. Pairs for the "Miracle Baby" and "Extra Gift" slots my only be entered Once. -------- Unlike past Wishing Stars, where it was only the winner of a couple which posted the couple would get a basket, we're going to treat these similar to traditional breedings. In this case, if you have permission from another owner to try for either a Miracle Baby or an Extra Wish, and the other owner would like a basket from that pairing, then one of you would post the pair with the appropriate header, and if you win, you will get two baskets - one for each owner. -------- In the event that you would like to enter a couple, but the other owner wants to enter a different wish and isn't interested in getting a basket, you simply need to post the appropriate header saying Owner 2 is declining a basket for that breeding, and if you win, you will only get one basket per traditional Wishing Stars. -------- In the event that you would like to enter a self-pairing, or someone else's pair, you simply need to post the appropriate header, and you will only get one basket should you win. -------- If a soquili has co-owners, then it is up to the owner and co-owners to decide who is eligible for the basket before entering. If there are two or three people who co-own a pony, only one of them can enter for a particular pair. You guys have to work it out between yourselves on who is eligible for what particular pairing before you post!
With permission from all owners you can post another person's couple, but please only if you intend to keep the basket. Refer to the Reference and Mockbreeding Permissions Thread for your permissions.

Miracle Baby
This wish can be wished by either potential parent of a couple that can not normally have children via normal breeding slots. IE: gay/lesbian couples, species that cannot interbreed (Such as regular/usdia, regular/mer, seathi/usdia), or a couple whom one or both of the parents have already used their 4 breedings IF this couple has not already actually bred before with each other. If your wish is granted, the couple might find a special basket near their home one day. This ”spawn” will follow all the rules of a customed family member, will not count against either parents breeding slots, and will be labeled as a gen 1 as it will not be a -genetic- foal of the couple, but a special gift from the Star. Therefore, it is possible that the breed may even be different than both of the parents, but it is ultimately the discretion of the colorists.

Isenath swims to the shore, looking around suspiciously before placing her offering on a rock. It was a flying fish, one that she'd caught mid-air, both of them breaching in the finale of what had been a daring chase. She had chosen a flying fish for its wings, to carry her words to the stars above. Not seeing any meddling land dwellers around, she whispered her words to the sky above.
"Star, send us a child. Send us one to live in the briny depths with us, to eat the sweet flesh of fish and to help keep the land dwellers afraid of the water." They were ready. She and Quinta had swam together for so long, but now Isenath craved the company of another, a little one that they could raise to hate the dry land and those that walked upon it. Quinta was far gentler than herself, but Isenath thought she spoke for them both when she addressed the star.
"Send us one to join us in dark waters, and I swear I'll feed them upon blubber and the soft flesh of sea urchins." Isenath gave the stars one last look before diving underneath the waves once more, leaving hardly a ripple to show her passing.

Ceremony looks up at the wishing star. "I've been having a time trying to come up with a fertility potion. Soquili approach me and ask quite often. Perhaps you can be of service? You, the Wishing Star, seem to have the ability to give fertility to many that ask for it! What is your secret? What ingredients do you use?" she begins to ramble about herbs and eyes of lizards... Little did she know, the star could provide her with fertility, instead of the potion she sought after! "I'll just leave these here. You can fill that bottle for me?" she felt silly, expecting such a miracle. "Here, you can have these too." she reached in her hair, and pulled out the dead bat, and some twine. Her wild hair served as a tangled web, and carried many things in it's strands. At that, she shrugged, and walked away.

With a resolute intake of air, Dae'ruil reached around and undid the clasp that secured his sword to his draperies, gently and reverently laying it down on the altar. He had never been much for conflict himself, though he had always admired soquili, like his mate, Fianna, who had the courage to fight for what they believed in.
Short IC Response:
Dae'Ruil stared up at the glimmering star, unable to deny the portentous nature of its appearance shortly after his formal proposal to Fianna and visiting her family. Hopefully this was the premonition he was hoping for. Maybe it was time to start a family of their own. Foals that were both his and Fianna's. He had been focused on taking Fianna back to his kingdom after formally asking permission from her parents, but there was just something.... right, something welcoming about the herd that her parents had been forming. It might have been so much simpler, almost crude to the young prince after the home that he was used to, but the love that was present here was so genuine that it almost took him by surprise. Almost like he had found for the first time what a home was really supposed to be. Maybe he shouldn't have been surprised. After all, the family, like Fianna herself, might be rough around the edges, but it was so very Real. Fianna's siblings might squabble, but it wasn't the almost venomous and stifling competition that Dae'Ruil's brothers had shown him.
It didn't mean that he didn't still want to return home.... some day... that he didn't want to show Fianna the dragonfly fluttercorn kingdom that he had grown up in, to introduce her to his parents, knowing and facing the certain disapproval that they would show. But... maybe.. he could rest for a time, share something genuine and real, expand their family before dealing with HIS. After all, nothing would justify to his family the realness of his relationship with the brave, brash, and feisty mare, Fianna than a family of their own.
"Star..." He began, raising his head and looking at the majestic star that outshone all the rest, "I entreat upon thee.... bless this union. Grant Fianna and I a child of our own. I love her beyond the mere borders of my heart, and bringing new life into this union will nourish and grow our love even more. She has taught me to be stronger, more confident... saved my life and saved me once more through the acceptance of my humble proposal. I never wish to tie her down - she seems to be the spirit of the wind and freedom itself some times - but I love her, and I am truly blessed to be loved in return. Let her brave spirit continue on in our foals. A foal or foals to cherish and amaze me as Fianna herself does." Dae'Ruil dropped to one knee in a formal, head-bent bow that was virtually a muscle memory to the soquili born to royalty. There was no way to know if his prayer had been heard, but he hoped beyond hope that maybe, just maybe, he had done something right and the spirits of the star would hear his petition.

He had a nagging that he wanted to get off his chest, something he hoped the Wishing Star could help with. He'd gathered his items and made his way to the make-shift alter he'd set up just for these occasions. A little leather pouch, worn and tattered from use, filled with precious treasures. "Gator teeth for strength, moss for beauty, and a whole mess of spiders' eyes....cause a person's gotta eat. Hope this will get that star's attention."
Turning blue eyes skyward, he took a breath. "Earlier this month I wished to find a family member. I'd still like to find a family member...but one of my own. Short IC Response: There had been chatter from his grandson on the mysterious powers of this bright star that shone over the land of the Kawani. Relic was of course skeptical but thought to give it a try. He had reconnected with Jessamine after she had run off on him and things were looking a little rosier for their future. It was strange that a star would have the power to grant wishes but who was he to judge.
Relic had set off in the dead of night with a piece of Jessamine's many ribbons wrapped around one of his scalpels. It was a suitable offering. Upon reaching the altar at the crest of the hill though Relic frowned at the cornucopia of other offerings left behind before shaking his head. Almost reverently he scraped away a clear spot and dropped the ribbon covered scalpel. His gaze shot upwards. "Who am I to say that you really work. All I know that is that this time around I want to be able to raise our children together. I want Jessamine to learn that it is alright to be herself. Her beauty and madness ensnared me from the beginning. Our family grows so I could not be prouder of our children but I crave more and I know, deep in my heart, that Jessamine would be surprised, but happy, with more children.

A few of Laer's feathers and Elanordir's feathers tied together with one of Rualie's hair ties. Short IC Response: Note; The couple is NOT the ones wishing. It is their two children and father.
Rualie was the first to step up to the star. She held the feathers in her mouth and laid it gently on the ground with a small sigh and a smile. Elanordir was the next up, smiling at the star and then nuzzling her sister just a bit. Their father, Laermeluion, stepped up in between the two and draped his wings over them.
They all knew what Temperance wanted, but had yet to have. They loved each other very much, but was lacking... Someone to relate more to Temperance. They all tried their best to appease Temperance when it came to her size... But it still seemed... Incomplete.
The eldest daughter looked up at the star and spoke. "We all know Mother loves us all very much, but out of the three of us... She's the only one that can't get bigger."
"Mother makes up for her size with all the love and knowledge she gives us, and now we want to be able to give something back," Elanordir said as he looked down at the ground.
Laer was the last to look up and speak. "My little Love has a big heart and always has more room to love. We know we're asking for a lot, but we do it for her."
Then all three bowed their head at the star and closed their eyes. Each hoped that they were not being selfish on this twisted night. They all just wanted Temperance to have a special gift 'from them'. Just the thought of what was happening probably would have made the little more the happiest mother, but Temperance was a little ways away, snuggled all cozily under Laer's cape, unaware that her family was making a wish on a possibly twisted star...

Short IC Response: Carys climbed to the top of the hill where she saw an altar to a star. A place where treasures could be left for wishes to be granted. She knew of such things, but while she wasn't certain if she believed it was real or possible, she had hope. It was all all she had that was hers in this new land. She was frightened and alone, and she didn't want to be alone anymore.

Casper and Sakura stood side my side, taking comfort from each other's presence, their flanks pressed together. Ever since they had hatched from their baskets, they had been extremely close. But there had been one more member of their litter, Lily, whom they had lost touch with. She had always been the more boisterous of the three, and as soon as their parents had abandoned them she took up a cold mantle and had turned her back upon her siblings. But now was the time to fix that.
"Star of Wishes, please bring back our sister." Began Sakura. Casper's voice chimed in, "We know she turned her back to us, but it is time to put the past behind us. We wish to seek her out, please guide her back to us, to her only family." Sakura stepped forwards, setting down their combined offering, "Please, let us put the past behind us."

Wood shavings and scraps of bark Short IC Response: These grassland horses were sure proving themselves to be a strange bunch. From appearances, attitudes, and now even some of their belief systems...definitely odd to the desert foreigner. Recently Hero had heard some hulabaloo about some magical star. Somehow bright dots in the sky apparently had powers to grant wishes if soquili seeked it out and talked up at it. Ridiculous. Horses who had their wishes granted usually found baskets, but some who were looking for family...sometimes came upon them. As far as Hero was concerned, it was likely just a coincidence crossing with luck. Things didn't just HAPPEN because you wished for it. She would know with her wingless back and all of that.
Yet here she was, in the dark approaching what she assumed was the right star based on what others told her. Unless they were tricking her and were waiting to laugh at her and call her an idiot. Not taking this whole thing too seriously, she had just sharpened her claws on the side of a tree and brought the bark shavings as her 'offering'.
"This is so stupid..." Hero mumbled, looking around to make sure no one else was there to watch her embarrass herself. Then she looked up at the sky and clear her throat. "Hey, star. I dunno if you can do anything or not, but I've been traveling in these lands for a while for a certain reason. It...well, it has to do with my dad. I never met him. Mom raised me and my brothers in her herd. Dad was from here, and that's all I know. So...I guess I'd like to meet him somehow. He's the reason I don't have wings, so I need to give him a piece of my mind." That was actually a bit of a joke; honestly she would love to meet the horse who swept her mother off her hooves for a time. "Dunno if you take requests for bums who never met their kids, but that's what I want. It would...just be nice to see him at least once. I guess." Hero sighed, a little annoyed at herself. She was letting herself get emotional around unfeeling sky things. Great. It was obviously time to leave before she did anything TOO dumb. "Guess that's all I got. Thanks if you do and whatever if you don't," she said, trotting away with her tail feathers dragging behind.
