Tempy yawned as she rested under a large tree, her body curled around a basket almost as large as her, and in turn, she was surrounded by Laer's body. She looked up at him and smiled, happy and confused.
They had made a wish one night, asking the stars to bless them with a gift. It was something that they did with all their hearts, but not any way did they think their wish would be granted.
The basket was found by them one day as they were wandering the forests with each other. It had been covered, for the most part, by a large flowering bush, but the yellow stood out so much, that they couldn't help but notice it. When they took a closer look, both Temperance and Laer couldn't help but be drawn to it.
Even if it wasn't their wish, at least the little one would get a new home.
The small usdia mare looked at the basket. For the most part, it reminded her of Laer, but the stripes... Those she got from her mother and shared it with the basket. The basket wiggled as she gazed about it lovingly and she stood up excitedly.
"Laer! I think whatever's inside is coming soon!" She pranced around Laer and the basket. looking between Laer and the little one. Tempy was beyond excited.

Laer had kept his eyes closed as he was on the ground next to the love of his life and a little life soon to come. He had been just as excited as Temperance when they had first stumbled upon the basket. There was no way of knowing if it was their 'wish', but when they found the basket and then looked at each other, they just knew that they wanted to give the lost basket a home either way.
The stallion nuzzled the mare when he noticed that she had flashed him a smile. Laer didn't say anything yet, but he had to admit he was slightly amused about Temperance. Her maternal instincts had kicked in right away, but there was a very large chance that whatever was in that basket was definitely larger than her, even as a filly.
He was a bit shocked when Temperance got up right away, but once she started running around, Laer stood up as well. He beamed at both Temperance and the wiggling basket. "I'm excited to meet our little miracle as well, Temperance. Just be careful with your excitement!" Laer let out a hearty laugh.

Rua was curled up in her basket. It was dark, but a lot warmer than what it used to be. She didn't remember much of when she first came in here, but she did remember being moved and eventually two voices. Those two voices were the one that kept her warm.
She had kept quiet for the most part, just listening to the things around her. Everything piqued her interest, especially the two voices that appeared to be so caring for each other... and her? It was scary at first, as was anything, but now she wanted to know.
The basket wriggled more as she lifted her head and pushed towards the top of the basket. Rua didn't feel particularly strong, but she was stronger than the first time in the basket. With more wriggling, she pushed through the basket rim and popped her head out.
It was bright, but her eyes quickly adjusted. She saw the vast green of the meadows as well as a grand tree and a cool breeze. Rua looked up and saw two faces looking at her. The voices? She was confused, but a smile came upon her face.

Temperance had stared intensely at the basket as it continued to wriggle. All else seemed quiet as she waited to see what was to come out of the basket. When she finally saw something popping out, Temperance jumped up with glee.
"Laer look! Isn't she just the cutest?" Temperance inched closer and poked her nose at the little filly's. Her eyes were wide eyed and sparkling at the new life. Sure, it hadn't come out of her, but either way, Temperance was in love.
She stepped back a little bit and gave the filly air as well as a clear view for Laer. "Isn't she beautiful, Laer?"
The smile on Tempy's face only grew larger as she looked at filly. She remembered her own first day out of her basket and meeting her parents. Now, she was someone else's parent, even if it wasn't biological.

Laer was just as excited as Temperance with the little miracle coming into the world, but was a lot more composed than the little usdia. It made him smile. He had slowly gained undying love for Temperance, and now he would be able to give some love to another.
When the head of the filly popped up, it felt like his heart would burst from the love he wanted to shower her with. Laer knew, however, he would have to at least hold it back, not wanting to scare the filly. There would be plenty of time in the future to shower his 'daughter' with love.
"She is most lovely," Laer smiled. "Like her little mother."
He approached the basket as Temperance took a step back. "Little filly, do you happen to know if you were named before we found you? Or do we have the honor of doing such?"
Laer gave the filly a bright smile as he stepped back again, giving her space to come out of the basket fully.

Rua stayed and stared at the two safely in her basket for a while longer. She smiled at the both of them and shook her head when she was asked for a name. There were no other voices that she remembered besides the two that stood in front of her now.
Her legs started to 'itch' and she just had to get out of the basket! She pushed the top of the basket off of her back and stood up, stretching her... wings? Rua hadn't noticed she had them while in the basket, but now outside, standing there and letting the wings get warm with the sunlight. She looked at them and concentrated, flapping them a little before looking up at her parents.
She hadn't seen anyone else before, but did notice that her father was much... much larger than her mother. Her stripes were the color of her papa and her body was that of her momma. And they both had wings! At least that made a little sense to her.
"Momma! Pappa!" She couldn't move very well, with her legs still being a bit shaky from being in the basket for so long, but she was so happy to finally be near the voices that kept her warm while she was in her basket. There wasn't much else she knew she should say, instead, she just stood there and smiled.

Temperance had already loved the little filly from when she first saw her head, but was more surprised and happy to see that she had wings as well! They were more like hers than Laer's, but of course, the filly was a full-sized Soquili and she could most likely pick herself up.
"Laer! Look! She has wings as well!" She nuzzled the stallion's chest and smiled. "That means the three of us can always take to the skies with each other." The thought of the three of them embracing the winds together made her happier than ever.
The filly did look very much like the both of them mixed together. Temperance didn't know who the true biological parents were, but there was so much love for the filly.
"I have to say, we found your basket, but... If you'll have us, we'll be your parents forever and ever." Temperance trotted over to the filly. She had to look up a little since the filly was a little taller than her, but it didn't matter to Tempy. She loved one Soquili larger than her. There would always be room for more.
She looked back at Laer. "Do you have any names in mind? I know I don't."
