A Loyal Companion Who is Wishing?:  Tell the wishing star a little about yourself: Irissa glanced up at the star and took in a deep breath. Like the child at heart she was she had no doubt this star could answer her wish. "Please wishing star, grant me this wish. I need a guarding, a companion that can come with me anywhere I go, who will always be there for me."
She opened her eyes looking up at the star before she pulled the scale she collected that had fallen out the night before and placed it on the alter, giving the star a piece of herself. A silver Celtic knot style double headed bear pendant with an inlaid emerald. Short IC Response: It had been mere chance that the khalasar's travels had seen them near the altar of the wishing star, and upon the very night that it shone brightly in the sky too, the night in which most would flock to the thing to make their wishes. The very idea was a silly one, he told himself. Something suited only to foals and the young stallions and mares, not an older stallion like himself. He knew that in his heart, and yet... here he stood before the altar, an offering held from his mouth, and a wish in his heart. It was silly and naive and he had been so close to returning to the khalasar, but he had stayed, giving a gentle snort as he set the pendant down upon the altar and bowed his head respectfully. The pendant had been a gift to his second mate, Lynesse. A token of his love for her, and something she had ultimately abandoned when she had left him. True there were sad memories connected with the thing, but there were happy ones too, and it would be from the happy ones he would draw from tonight. "You know, I never would have pegged myself for a guy who talked to stars. To birds, maybe, or to bugs, if they were getting in the way of a good graze, but stars? Please." He pauses, shifting awkwardly on the ground before smiling and shaking his head. "But I'm also not the sort of guy who'll argue with the truth, you know? And the truth is that you, Star, have shown yourself to be something else. So who am I to be skeptical?" He smiles again, then glances about surreptitiously to be sure he's alone. The night was cool as the icy blue kirin stepped up to the large flat rock, already pilled high with offering from other Soquili, carefully she lowered her head dropping the iron nearby with a dull thud. With a flick of her tail, Elegy closed her eyes whispering a silent prayer to the star that traveled across the night sky above. For what seemed an eternity she stood, silent, rooted in the spot she had chosen. When finally the mare opened her eyes, she turned slowly a tear sliding across her cheek to fall and disappear into the grass bellow. She knew she should have no regrets about following her master to the new world, and yet..."Wishing star, I have heard of your great powers, and I wish...I wish I could see my brother again." Hah! As if that were possible when he was probably somewhere in the old world serving his own master. Still, it couldn't hurt to try...carefully, Arama picked open her saddlebag and placed a small compass on the altar. "If it is possible to guide him here, may this help you both. Thank you, wishing star!" At that, she stepped carefully back down the hill, shaking her head and smiling to herself. Hey, at least the memories of her family in the old world would keep her company!

"I wouldn't be alive today if it weren't for you and may sister taking a chance with faith. I... had been injured badly during the great fires, lost and alone, I thought for sure that was the end. But... my sister, Nightingale, made a wish -- and you helped us reunite with each other. You saved me. I thank you for that, from the bottom of my heart -- but... if I may ask for another favor? There are not many I feel safe opening up to. That I feel I can trust completely. I trust my sister, of course, but sometimes... she just doesn't understand me. She can spend hours simply staring up at the clouds with a soft smile on her face, lost in her thoughts. She is a bit lazy at times, taking a bit after her father- and somewhat reserved, like her mother. While she tends to not put forth the effort enough to seek out other soquili, she is very eloquent with words, and enjoys speaking in metaphors and riddles. Some beautiful opals he found. Short IC Response: Ken waited a little impatiently to give his offering to the wishing star. He couldn't help but prance in place a bit as he waited his turn. Tonight would be his night, he could feel it! He looked down at his small pile of stones and hoped the star would love them as much as he did. They were the most special possession he had. He would give ANYTHING to find his sister. He barely even remembered her... it had been such a long time. Head jerking up out of his musings, he saw the star. He was about to tell it what he wanted and about his offering but he suddenly felt a light warmth in his heart. The star knew exactly what to do.
