The school gymnasium is mostly empty, though there seem to be a mass of shadowlings gathering around with each corner. There is a large gap where you are pretty sure where a wall should have been, as the source of shadowlings seem to be coming from that specific location, in the hundreds. This is however, one of the few places that is not covered or barricaded entirely in these strange, hostile creatures. Is it your imagination or have some of the shadowlings evolved, growing slightly larger now, almost up to half an average student's height?
You have two options:
Do nothing:
You sit around and literally, cower. You hide, you try to not get too close to the shadowlings. You are absolutely no help and simply watch others, or perhaps surrender to your fate once the shadowlings get tired of their surroundings and find you.
Fight:
Right, why are you cowering anyway? It is time to step up and attack! You get yourself ready, and brace yourself for shadowlings, a lot of shadowlings.

Your HP and everything else carries over. - A lot of shadowlings have LIMITED ATTACK ROUNDS so make sure you do not go over the limit of attacks for that round! - When a phase is ready to start, a GM will announce it in this thread along with the OOC RULES FOR THE NEXT PHASE BOSS(ES). The area is infested with hundreds of tiny shadowlings, teeming in a thick, unsteady black. They do not seem ravenous quite yet, but they are getting restless, some straying a little too close towards you....

While he was making his way to Riley's place, Jericho noticed there was trouble outside. Was that some movement he saw? Frowning, the dragon decided to take a detour, making his way through the gym first to investigate. At first, it didn't look like a whole lot. The place was mostly empty.
But then they came.
Not just a couple. But hundreds of the same shadows that were eating his treasure earlier. That wasn't it. Were these things growing? They definitely looked bigger than the ones he saw in his room.
"Oh hell no!" he shouted as a handful were making their way towards his position. He promptly punted them away.

Before Victoria knew it, she had taken a wrong turn somewhere, and instead of the school gates, she found herself outside the gymnasium. It was, like the rest of the school, swamped with those black, odd creatures that kept spawning from what appeared to be a hole in the wall. Just as she was about to turn back and retrace her steps in order to go to the school gates, she caught sight of a lone student trying to fend off the creatures, and decided to lend them a hand.
... Although she had no idea how to go about doing that, and hovered close by instead.

Akubi more or less came running to the gym. In truth he was following the ghostly ghoul in hopes that it was someone he knew but alas it was not. Spying someone else fighting the creatures he now loathed? He jumped right in and gave them a good ol' slash with his sharp nailed hands.
He hated everything right now.

Victoria continued hovering back, even as another student joined the attack; for some reason, she couldn't attack... Besides, Matron always said that ghouls shouldn't fight. It was unladylike, and ghouls should only fight for special occasions.

Hearing some voices behind them, Jericho turned to see a couple of other students in the gym as well. He offered them a weak sort of smile, glad that he wasn't the only one here to fend these things off.
"Come on. Let's pound some heads," he said to them before picking up one of the shadowlings and hurling at two of the others. It did well enough to break that small lot.

Storming through the hall, Mia was making her way towards the school grounds, when she happened to pass by the school gymnasium. She would have walked right by it, were it not for the very noticable hoard of shadowlings swarming each corner.
"Oh dear... they're here also?" "JACK these things are everywhere."
She paused, glaring at the mass. She had been wanting to go to the school grounds to hopefully find a professor to shed a light on the situation, but that could wait. She had a bone to pick with these things.
A flick of her wrist, and a small swarm of butterflies cut through the air, slashing through a small handful of the shadowlings. That seemed to put her in a slightly better mood.

Tess was content to just stand there by the entrance. Really, really she was. She was fine to let other students do the fighting and the messy stuff. Except these shadowlings weren't planning on leaving her alone and one of them made the mistake of trying to eat her hair.
Already nervous and skittish and thoroughly not-wanting-to-be-here, the sharp yank at her long, black locks had the ghoul demonstrating an undead's unnaturally strong blow. Also ew, who knows where these things were from and how dare they mess with her hair!
