"I do... why do you as-" A tiny figure glaring at them made her pause, and she turned to look at him. A gasp escaped her lips when she heard what the school secretary said, and she stared at him in shock.
"DETENTION?!" For what, trying to protect the school? No, no, she wouldn't deal with detention, not with her supposed perfect track record, and- The ice demon promptly disappeared underneath the swarm of shadowlings, but if that wasn't weird enough, the shadowlings started... pulling back?
YES, did that mean they were retreating? They- The explosion of colour made her yelp, and she raised her hands to cover her eyes.
"Master, let us help!" "Help! Help!"
Lowering her arms, Mia looked up, to see that two of herfaeons had appeared. At least... they LOOKED like hers... albeit being a LOT bigger and... well... able to talk.
She wasn't quite sure what was happening anymore.

"Unholy JACK they're everywhere!" Amrita gasped as she finally stumbled on a group, quite content with being Captain Obvious. "Also...unholy Jack, Remi, you look like s**t." She stared at him for a moment or two, then tried to figure out how to go about healing.
Apparently, she didn't remember how...and neither did DC, who sat at her feet and scratched his ear with his back paw.

"Okay, hold on, I think I got this." Amrita grinned, looking down at the oddly coloured Death Charm at her feet. She nudged him with her heel, and it looked up at her with wide eyes and his maw open in pure joy. "Go on, DC. Be useful!"
"YES OKAY YES!" The Death Charm screeched happily, getting up and trotting to the fox boil; a boil he actually liked or many reasons. "I'm helping!" DC squeaked out, taking a deep breath before opening his mouth, spitting a very healing fireball at Remi.
"...Euugh." Amrita, being undead, took another few quick steps away from her mini.

And so now Jericho was just kind of sitting back while the mini-red dragon levathia went on and ran around body blocking for people.

"Rita?" He mumbled, staring up with a pretty derpy expression on his face. "Wha are you..."
The next thing he saw was orange. "OW OW O-....owww? wait" He frowned deeper.
That was a fireball that came out of no where. And fireballs were supposed to HURT? "That.... that was a freaking fireball!" He glared at the minipet next. "Why am i not scorched!".... "You have been wanting to do that havent you." He leered down at the minipet.
Stupid minipet grr grr grrr.
"He healed me didnt he."
Grrr grr grr.
"Thank you Amrita." He looked up at the ghoul, eyes flicking down towards DC briefly. "....Thanks." He mumbled.

No sooner had he distracted his own canine minipet, another, more visible and garishly colored one had grabbed him by the leg.
Dogs and skeletons really did not get along.

The invisible dog still hadn't found the bone, and had no idea it had completely vanished. Poof, went the heartless, as something invisible squashed them underfoot over and over again.

Amrita grinned at Remi, waving her fingers at him. "Are you okay? You look a little...bad." She mumbled, heading over to hold her hand down to him with every intention of pulling him to his feet. Height difference be damned, she was going to get him to his feet! "You know, one day I'm going to actually keep tabs on how often I save your fuzzy butt." She teased, winking at him in his stupor.
DC, however, yelped happily and wagged his fiery tail so hard his whole rear end shook.
"...You too, Aymet." She added, looking over her shoulder at the Dracolich and the way he freaked out over losing a bone. The ghoul cast a glance down to her Death Charm, nodding towards Aymet...who was another unfortunate receiver of a healing fireball.

Almost as soon as the blast of fire had stopped inexplicably roasting his bones, Aymet scrambled over to Amrita and shielded both of them under his unfortunately quite flammable wings. It was pretty clear he had no idea what had just happened.

Amrita froze as Aymet came closer, surrounding them both with his wings. Which were on fire. Since it was a healing fireball though, the effects were harmless; they burned still, only because they were mending the damages caused by the shadowlings around them. At least, that's what she hoped was happening.
She couldn't be around him if he was on fire all the time.
"N-no it's not the shadowlings it was---" The ghoul's lips pressed together, squirming and awkward from the close proximity once she realized just how little space between them there was. "I-it was, um, DC...healing...you." She explained lamely, clearing her throat.
"S-so uhh! Don't worry about it! It'll go away I think. Go, um, kick some shadow a**?" Yes, go kick some Shadow a**, Shadowlord.

Tess chewed on her lower lip as those who answered her question responded with no, they too did not bring their phones. "I-I agree that it looks like there isn't anyone we can call to help with the situation but..." she trailed off, seemingly trying to think of a less embarrassing way to explain she just wanted to see how her boilfriend was doing. He may have gone elsewhere in search of her and she just wanted to know how he was...
Luckily, one ghoul in particular did have her phone and Tess brightened immensely, "Can I just send a message? A quick one? Just to let my boilfriend know I'm alright-" the rest of her explanation was lost when Arel popped in and as did the minipets. While Tess just sort of stared at the emerging pets, Legs clicked her heels in delight. Never say Legs was an unappreciative ghoul, but never say she wasn't opportunistic either. She immediately began ordering the normally pale, bat-winged pony to make sure she showed these shadowlings a thing or two.
"WAIT! NO! COME BACK!" Tess called out to the mini when she spotted a skittering appendage by Legarra's hooves, accidentally tripping the poor thing. Oh Jack WHYYYYYYYYYY!???! Legs moaned.

Invisible minipets aside, They were doing rather okay. After all no one dead-dead yet. Yet.
Everything, every moment, attack, assist, even every movement itself seemed to draw to a strange long note, unfulfilled and unsatisfactory, as if something was missing. And perhaps something was, but for those fighting they had long forgotten, sucked into this strange spiral of dream - or was it?
The next second passed, another shadowling, dissipated. Silence again.
And once again they retreated, as the air itself seemed to buzz, to whisper something. Words.
- C...... M..........N...................-
They were gone, replaced by a single, black crater that appeared from the ground. A crater that revealed a massive head first, easily several feet high, followed by a pair of claws, antennae, beady yellow eyes. It lumbered slowly, shaking the earth with each step, more interested in gouging everything around it than just its assailants.
What can be destroyed will only come back stronger

Jericho stopped and furrowed his brow as something bigger came into view.

The appetite of this one bigger thing could probably eat a whole trove.
Meanwhile the mini-Jericho levathia was still running around, protecting other pets.

Aymet didn't pick up on her discomfort, but he was happy to help protect her, and everyone else. By fighting. Some things in life were simple. He turned dramatically toward the shadow creature. "Maybe I-"
"I WILL KICK IT FOR YOU!!" the invisible presence declared before charging at the newer, bigger shadow. Or at least, it seemed that way. There wasn't a whole lot to go on when it was, you know, invisible.
