This is it, The Role-Playing forum! This is where it all goes down, where you will create your character's story with your fellow players. Please remember that you MAY NOT post ANYTHING in character before you have posted your COMPLETED character profile in this thread. Before you begin, there are some very important rules...

1. Kindly read the Roleplaying Tutorial. It is designed with both new and experienced roleplayers in mind, and feel free to post additional questions in the thread.

2. Please post your profile in this thread before you post in the roleplay.

3. You may be apply to control a second character if you so desire. Just send me a PM asking Atrox Saint or another crew member for permission.

4. Please post in a dark color (blue or black) and in standard font size. This just makes things easier for everyone.

5. Please use correct spelling and grammar. If you do not have a spell checker, this particular one is online. Also, grammar rules can be found here.

6. All posts in the roleplay should be in third person past tense point of view for continuity's sake.

7. Your character's name should be in each post at least once. Preferably more, depending on post length.

8. If you decide to post another location, please do so without polls. Also, before creating a location, check to make sure that something like it does not already exist. The first post of a new location should be an OOC description of the location.

9. Do not post out of character in an in character thread. If it is that important, send the person a PM.

10. At the end of a post and before switching locations, make some mention of where you plan to go so that people can follow you. An even more spectacular thing to do would be to link your posts together.

11. Please do not double post. There is an edit button, and if you decide to add something to what your character is doing simply tack it on to the end of the last post rather than creating a whole new post for it.

12. Please do not quote the post of the character that you are replying to. This is just obnoxious and makes threads cluttered. Besides, if you are a good enough roleplayer you won't have to quote them for everyone to know who it is that you are interacting with.

13. Please post in the roleplay at least once a week. We understand that this is not always possible, and if you know in advance, please post in the Extended Absence thread. Warnings to inactive posters are sent out on Wednesdays and if by the following Saturday you still have not posted (even if it is just in the Extended Absences thread), your account will be banned from the guild. However, if you are banned your character profile will be preserved in the crew forum and you are welcome to reapply at any time.

Name: Josh Baroob
AKA: n/a
Current Age: 17
Appearance:User Image Josh is (very) white with blond hair and hazel eyes. His hair is blond and somewhat shaggy and he dresses in t shirts and long pants (excepting really hot days when he is forced to wear shorts). He avoids clothing with labels or writing on them as much as possible, unless the saying is particularly funny. He doesn't have any particularly interesting features, save a few little scars from childhood incidents. He's lean, but not muscular and has a few freckles, mostly on his arms.

Josh wears his emotions on his sleeves in a big way. When he's happy, or at least not feeling bad, he smiles. When he's upset, he practically radiates a rain cloud. He has difficulty making eye contact with people he doesn't know and, should it happen, usually smiles and looks away awkwardly. He has been know to randomly skip while he walks or go tearing through a crowded hall to jump a friend, but he's perfectly sane. At least, we think he is.
Costume: n/a
Primary Power: n/a
Secondary Power(s): n/a
Weakness: Josh has asthma and sunburns really easily
Personality: Josh isn't a pack rat as much as he's a magpie. If he sees something he thinks is cool lying on the ground (or anywhere else) and finds it to be unclaimed, he will drag it back to his basement bedroom. The result is a collection of "treasures" that drives his mother insane and makes most people wonder why Josh lives in a landfill. As you might guess, he's also a bit of a slob. He'll clean when he can no longer function within the space or when his mother finally nags him into it, but never before.

Josh is incredibly easy going when it comes to the rises and falls of everyday life. There is a reason for this, however: Josh has an uncanny luck when it comes to little things. They always seem to work out in his favor. He has faith that every bad will be followed by a good. When it comes to dealing with people, however, all this faith and confidence disappears. People are far too unpredictable for Josh's liking and he tries to rely on anyone but his close friends as little as possible. That being said, it's not hard to become one of Josh's "close" friends. As much as he hates to have to rely on them, Josh really enjoys the company of people. He believes in the inherent good of every human being and tries to give everyone the benefit of the doubt.

The thing the really shines through Josh as his single most important trait is his strong sense of justice. He has a powerful desire to do good and to help his fellow man. When it comes to deciding between right and wrong, he excels. The irony is, when it comes to decisions with no moral values, he freezes up. Whether you as him about future careers, college choices, or anything else about the future, Josh simply doesn't know what he wants. He much prefers to put off the choice until other people or missed deadlines make it for him.
Biography: There's nothing remarkable about Josh's developmental years; he has a mother and father who are very loving. He was a terrible klutz as a child (which really hasn't changed, but shhh), resulting in a handful of little scars. He has no pets or siblings and the latter has resulted in him being just the tiniest bit spoiled. Not in a cranky, throw tantrums way, but in a "when things don't go my way, I'm totally lost" sort of way.

The biggest event in Josh's life happened about five months ago (game time). He had just been equipped with a gadget-ridden back brace to cure his scholiosis. Realizing it's potential for awesome, he became Captain Cripple and fought crime alongside two of his friends. Their greatest accomplishment was defeating the sinister Politician and restoring Delmor's Internet access. The group broke apart, however, and that's left a bitter taste in Josh's mouth. He still wants to be a hero, but his brace doesn't fit anymore.
Goals/Motives: Josh has no real goals in life, aside from perhaps returning to super heroics.
Vices: The closest thing Josh has to a vice (other than this unwillingness to clean) is the simple fact that he is a terrible klutz. It's a terrible trait to have when your room is stacked with roadside debris.

Name: Penelope Greenhill
AKA: n/a
Current Age: 17
Appearance:User Image Penelope has strawberry blond hair. It's shoulder-length, but always pulled back into a pair of buns. Her eyes are a deep blue. She has a thin scar running on her chin. It's very difficult to see unless you're looking for it (and most people barely look at her to begin with). Her mother says its from a cat, but Penelope has no memory of the incident.

Penelope dresses in black, favoring skirts and dresses that look "vintage." She's known to wear thick eye makeup as well (and thick makeup in general). She doesn't make eye contact, usually looking to wards the floor. This isn't entirely due to shyness or fear, mostly it's due to an apathy toward the general population. She'll ignore most taunts and jabs, but once someone does manage to get under her skin she can be terrifying. Her whole body language screams rage and she has a glare that has been know to make the nastiest bullies take pause.
Costume: n/a
Primary Power: Whenever Penelope gets excited or angry or feels any other strong emotion, things happen. This might be as simple as a slight breeze or a sudden change in temperature or as powerful as shattering glass. Whatever happens, it's always accompanied by a very unnatural and (if she's feeling a particularly negative emotion) disturbing feeling. She has no control over this power and is barely even aware of it.
Secondary Power(s): n/a
Weakness: Normal
Personality: Penelope isn't a neat-freak, but she does like to keep her space clean. This is a constant source of frustration in her house where dusty old heirlooms and dirty floors are all part of the "charm." She does what she can and has, for the most part, learned to live with that.
Penelope only has one true friend who isn't related to her, and she treats him like family. She keeps everyone who is important to her close and almost ignores everyone else. Her relationship with her sister is worth noting. Though the two of them are very close, Penelope feels like their mother subtly favors Elizabeth (truth be told, she does). It's never enough to start an actually rivalry between the two sisters, but it does wear on Penelope's nerves.

The one thing that really defines Penelope is her fierce loyalty to her friend and family. If they ask her to do something she may grumble, but she will do it. She loves her family dearly (and is beginning to feel that way about Josh). She doesn't truly ignore everyone else, but if they don't engage her, she won't engage them. Most people don't engage her.
Biography: Penelope Greenhill was born on friday the thirteenth. In the Greenhill family, however, that's perfectly normal. Until she was three, she had two loving parents and a younger sister (who was born when Penelope was two). Her father disappeared a few months after her sister was born in circumstances she can't quite remember. From then on, it's just been the Greenhill ladies. As a result, the Greenhills rely on each other and almost no one else. This made Penelope a quiet girl in school and, in turn, a target for bullying. The bullying made her quieter and the cycle goes on. An important break in the cycle came when Josh stuck up for Penelope. He wasn't terrible popular either, of course, so the end result was a quite a few rounds of "Josh and Penelope sitting in a tree." Children can be so cruel. Anyway, Josh and Penelope became good friends after that.
Goals/Motives: Penelope's goal is to find her little nitch in the school and be left alone. She's also nursing a little bit of a crush on Josh and would love to start something there. (Of course, Josh is just as clumsy with hearts as he is with everything else, so she might be in for quite a ride...)
Vices: Penelope worst vice is her need to know exactly what's going on with the people she cares about. This doesn't come from a manipulative desire or anything of that sort, it's important to note. She just thinks she needs to know.

Name: Hue Clover
AKA: n/a
Current Age: 32
Appearance:User Image Hue Clover does not compromise on his appearance. His green eyes shine with life and happiness and his red hair is styled into a masterpiece each morning (though not always the same masterpiece). From his pointed ears to his toes, all five feet nine inches of Hue is kept clean and adorned with stylish fashion. Of course, Hue's idea of style can be quite different from most people's. No matter what the occasion, his outfits always have a splash of color and pizzaz that make them uniquely his.
Costume: n/a
Primary Power: Hue is a student of Fey magic; a magic of persuasion and illusion. It's intimately connected with living energies, allowing it's users to be more aware of the state of others, both physically and mentally.
Secondary Power(s): Hue is also a skilled musician, playing the lute and pan pipes with remarkable skill. He's an excellent performer all around, in fact, able to tell jokes that will diffuse even the most intense situations. Oh, and he's also very attractive.
Weakness: Hue is horribly impulsive. He has almost no restraint when it comes to the things he loves. He happens to love a lot of things.
Personality: Hue is a free spirit; a lover of the finer things in life. He enjoys poetry and art as well as wine, women, and song. Due to his wealth and charms, he can get any of these whenever the mood strikes him. Don't let this fool you into thinking he's a snobby guy, though. Hue is one of the most genuinely kind people you will ever meet. He often performs at the hospital and elderly housing as well as hosting a yearly masquerade ball at the Pacific Unity nightclub. His parties are decidedly "adults only," but he is always able to preform a perfectly age-appropriate show for any audience.
Fey are notorious for their mischief and Hue is no exception. He has a softer heart than most of his kin, however, and can't bear to cause someone undeserving any real suffering. When someone gives him a hard time, he doesn't respond with angry words or actions. Instead, he retaliates with a storm of obnoxious pranks until the offender apologizes or just gives up.
Biography: Before he became received his Fey name, Hue was named "Rodney Johnson." Rod was raised in a wealthy family, but he never really felt like he was at home. Growing up in an adopted family is hard, but doing so when no one in your family even knows you're adopted is even harder. Though he shared his parent's love of fine art and fancy clothes, Rod always longed for the forest in a way no one could understand. And then there were the ears. There's a certain amount of point that people can accept as being "normal." Rod's ears far surpassed that level and earned him the nickname of "fairy" in the private school he attended. Oddly enough, that name didn't bother him so much. The other kids were very mean to him, though, and one day chased him into the woods at the edge of the school. Here, he encountered a woman of haunting beauty who introduced herself as his mother. The woman also introduced him to the real Rodney Johnson, a boy who had been raised by the fey while Rod took his place. The woman cast a spell that would make the boy believe his time among the fey was a dream and would put him soundly to sleep when rescuers found him a few hours later.
Rod was taken deep into the hidden forest of the fey and taken to meet his real family. From them he learned the arts of Fey magic and music and was given a more fitting name: Hue Clover. In time, Hue would returned to the human world and go to hairdressing school. After that, he move to Delmor and started Clover's Cuts, a hair salon which became famous in both the human and fey worlds.
Goals/Motives: Hue really just wants people (both human and Fey) to like him. For the most part, he's succeeding.
Vices: Hue doesn't think of any of his actions as "wrong," so he can't really have any vices.

Name: Cait Kassidy (character start)
AKA: Duct Tape Girl
Current Age: 17
User Image
User ImageAppearance: Cait is a remakably unremarkabe looking girl. Owing to her middle-eastern heritage, cait has dark features. Dark brown eyes framed by thick black eyelashes emphasize the exotic look. She has tangled thick black hair falling in kinks down to her lower back. She's curvaceous and could probably be stunning if she would only dress better. Some character's just ought to go on "what not to wear".

She often stands up straight when walking and isn't so shy that she can't make eye contact. She almost always has a messenger bag of woven duct tape at her side, and wears "emo glasses". She also almost always has a coffee cup in her hand. She walks confidently through the halls of DUHS, knowing she is just as good as everyone else, and secretly wishing everyone else could see that.

Costume: Coming Soon!
Primary Power: FAST Manipulation of duct tape. Always carries a few rolls on her belt.
Secondary Power(s): Healing with duct tape. If Cait bandages you in a duct tape bandage, you will heal miraculously faster than you would have otherwise. For mostly unknown reasons.
Weakness: Cait is ironically allergic to adhesives. Her Narcolepsy is also a problem.
Personality: Given Cait's background, I'd have to say she is a perfectionist. She stresses out about not doing things exactly right constantly, and doesn't sleep well, exacerbating her narcolepsy. Because she puts all of her focus on schoolwork, Cait is a slob, and hasn't cleaned her room in a few years. The caffeine makes Cait anxious all the time, mostly because falling asleep is very embarrasing for Cait. All around, Cait is kind of a miserable person. She doesn't really have a lot of friends because she spends so much time studying, but education is kind of the only thing that makes Cait happy, so it work out in the end... kind of....

Biography: Cait lives in one of the middle class houses, and She is an honors student at DUHS and works herself too hard. On Saturdays she commutes off-islandinsula for a specially designed academic program called BTY that provides further challenges that DUHS cannot provide. She spends 8 hours at the BTY program every Saturday, with a one hour commute both days. On sundays she does her homework. On weekdays she rarely leaves her house because she is always studying. When she gets too stressed out, Cait plays loud music and "sings" to it to keep her focus, and she drinks a LOT of coffee. In fact, she's fairly short because she has consumed so much caffeine. But there is another reason for her coffee obsession, Cait is a narcoleptic. In fact, whenever she becomes overly emotional she falls asleep incontrolably, so it is all that Cait can do to keep herself at a fairly steady level of the jitters by constantly consuming coffee. There are no medications to treat her condition, so this is the best she can do. Cait also lives next door to Josh Baroob.
Goals/Motives: Cait just wants to help people. Primarily, her motivation to become a superhero extends from her desire to make other people's lives a little bit easier.
Vices: Constant coffee drinker. Also has a tendency to play with her hair when she gets nervous.
Other: Cait is the co-founder and President of SAUCY.

Name: Jay Carney
AKA: Heartburn
Current Age: 16
User Image
User ImageAppearance: Jay is ripped. She is so dedicated to her sport, the fact that she is ripped is pretty much the first thing anyone notices about her. She dresses in print t-shirts, adidas work out pants, and athletic sneakers. Everything looks good on Jay, a fact that makes Cait ever so slightly jealous. However, Jay has a farmers tan from working out outside with a t-shirt on. She, too, has brown eyes and brown hair.

Jay is almost always carrying a book and wears glasses as well, so she's basically the oxymoron of the smart jock. She's also a confident person and you can see in her eyes that she's always willing to start trouble.

Costume: Coming Soon!
Primary Power: Will eventually have the ability to create and manipulate fire, but has no such abilities at this time.
Secondary Power(s): She's rather skilled with a whip.
Weakness: Water. Ironically, Jay lives in a houseboat.
Personality: Jay is very easy going and yet still gets everything done, even with track practice. However, she doesn't sleep much, seeming to get her energy from a hidden battery pack. Cait even refers to her as "The Energizer Bunny" on occaission. Jay goes against the grain on everything, and often stand with Cait opposite to the mainstream. Together, they looove to cause trouble and stir up a fight, and when doing so together, they can do so ceaselesly.

Biography: Jay is Cait's best friend, though they only just met at the beginning of their junior year and became fast friends through the BTY program. Jay's been living on a housboat at the Delmor Marina for a few years now but used to live on the mainland. The reason for the move was her father's teaching job on Delmor. Jay's relationship with her Dad is uneasy at best and bordering on abusive at worst. Her mother quietly goes along with whatever her father says because she feels she does not have a choice to do otherwise, and this has led to resentment of both parents. She loves to study chemistry, and often hangs around Mr. Attomos helping him with his experiments. Jay is an only child, so all of her parents sheltering and nesting has gone straight onto her. It is as if her father does not want her to be a unique person and instead she should automatically be what he thinks she should be. Obviously this causes tension, as Jay is a high school student trying to figure out who she is. Unfortunately, her father is also her track coach, and Jay's brilliance at the pole vault is the only thing her father can pride in, but god forbid he show it. Instead, he continues to push her. It's only a matter of time before she gets hurt.

Goals/Motives:
Vices: Single-minded when she sets her mind to something.
Other: Jay is the co-founder and Vice-President of SAUCY

Name: Rowena Lasairona
AKA: Lady Cellophane
Current Age: 17
User Image
User ImageAppearance: Rowena is adorable. She has big grey eyes and beautiful eyelashes, a rounded face that is lightly freckled across the bridge of her nose. Rowena even has dimples! Most striking of all though, is her long curly white hair. But instead of causing her to be ostricised, Rowena's genetic defect is actually the feature that attracts people to her. She dresses in crisp white dresses or skirts, and is quite beautiful. During the right seasons, Rowena even wears a flower in her hair. She's also frequently spotted in stockings.

However, Rowena is really arrogant and walks with her nose up in the air most of the time, looking down on "the little people" below her who can't afford the nice things in life like escalades and gold-plated swimming pools. When not looking like she think's she's the queen of England, she sits around looking rather bored with life.
Costume: Coming Later!
Primary Power: Rowena can manipulate fields of energy, which thus behave exactly like cellophane. With this ability she can block attacks and strangle people as she wills, even turning transparent at times.
Secondary Power(s): Rowena is pretty skilled with an epee.
Weakness: The more Rowena uses her abilities the more she sticks to things. Like Tables. and the Floor.
Personality: Rowena is a manipulative b***h. She likes people to think she is good and innocent, but in reality is always causing problems and spreading rumors to make things happen her way. She really is quite smart about it, if only she could translate that into the classroom... All the administrators believe her to be faultless because she is so pretty and sweet and kind when people are looking, but it's what happens in the shadows that is really the issue. In fact, administrators are so blinded by "Daddy's Money" that whenever someone does say something bad about Rowena, the Principal believes the acuser to be lying and promplty drops their butt in detention. In Rowena's world, she's the only one that matters. And she feels a strong sense of entitlement for whatever she wants.
Biography: Rowena....is a b***h. She and Cait were best friends once, a long time ago. Probably in elementary school or sometime. Since then, Rowena has become just too darn pretty and too darn rich to hang out with anyone like Cait, who looks rather plain and can't swim in a golden bathtub. Everyone believes Rowena to be an innocent girl, as she's just too sweet looking to do anything wrong, and very few people see through the facade. Because of her beauty, Rowena is also one of the most popular girls at DUHS, but don't dare come up to her if you aren't a member of the in-crowd, because she will quite litterally sneer at you, but she's too lady-like to spit. Rowena is also not very intelligent and struggles in school, getting by on flirting with teachers and reminding them of how rich her daddy is (though he and her mother are always away, leaving the housekeepers to take care of her and make sure they cater to all Rowena's needs.) She becomes frustrated with people who are smarter than her and therefore resents Cait for being a "stuck up brain". She thinks everyone should just be pretty and have lots of money and then the world would be a better place. Because of her expressed frustration with people smarter than she is, a housekeeper has been teaching Rowena a few mental meditative excercises with manipulating the world around her. She hasn't had much success though, making her further frustrated.
Goals/Motives: To make everyone else miserable because she believes that money is what gives people worth. Her primary desire is to make the little people miserable.
Vices: She's a b***h.
Other: Captain of the Fencing Team. And quite awesome at it too!

User ImageName: Epona (Character Start)
AKA: To Be Determined
Current Age: 14
Appearance: Epona is a grey centaur, with grey fur and paper white skin. She has beautiful, big, blue eyes and large ears inherited from her equine mother. She prefers to keep her(extremely thick) dark grey hair cut short for cleanliness and convenience purposes. It has a tendency to stand up a bit in the front because of this. As far as horse size goes, she is VERY tall. Her mother was 17 hands (5 and a half feet) tall, and Epona inherited her height. Therefore, the top of her head is about eight and a half feet off the ground. Epona dresses in tight and functional clothing for running around the forest, preferring to wear bodices because they help her keep her posture. Epona wears leather braces to support the hawk she has befriended and carries a hunting knife on her belt.
Costume: None Necessary
Primary Power: Epona is excellent in one-on-one, hand-to hand combat. Her height gives her a definite advantage over others, not to mention the fact that she has four legs to stabilize her (and/or kick other people with) rather than the human two.
Secondary Power(s): Excellent survival skills.
Weakness: Epona can’t see what is coming up behind her. Her large ears have given her a decent sense of hearing, like horses, but she can’t see anything which leaves her prone to being startled. Additionally, in the chaos of a big fight she may become spooked and start tearing around trampling things accidentally. She has very little self-control in this respect.
Personality: Epona has since escaped to Adohi Forest and found a home there with Secret. She enjoys the freedom she can enjoy within the forest, but is haunted by a desire for acceptance into general society. She is unhappy that she can't be like the people in town, and wishes they understood her. However Epona is grateful for the friendship of Secret, though Secret can be distant and often makes little sense to an already socially awkward Epona. She's haunted by a desire to find her father, but wonders if maybe this is in extended part of a test. She hopes he will come find her when the test is finished, but six months after being abandoned she is beginning to lose hope. She wishes she could talk to Secret about it, but isn't sure how she would react.

Epona is a generally calm girl who is unfortunately prone to being spooked and has experienced a history of anxiety attacks. Her human intellect and animal instinct often duel over the irrationality of her anxiety, but she has come to accept it as being simply a part of who she is. Though she is extremely intelligent, she has a tendency to still approach the world with a childlike innocence. Everything is new, something to explore or experience or play... Epona can find the joy in almost anything.
Biography: You may think you’ve heard of test tube babies, but you’ve never heard anything like this. Epona’s father is an extremely intelligent geneticist who created her with a combination of his own DNA and that of his favorite mare after having the Seaside Manor built to house his research. He was shunned from the scientific community for pursuing his idea that he could create a race of centaurs (which he called Project Epona) and relocated to Delmor. After nearly a decade of research and failed attempts, Epona was conceived and almost a year later she was born. Around her second birthday, her mother finally encouraged her to strike out on her own, and her father took her into his home for some further research.

Unfortunately for her father, the situation was about to get much more complicated when he discovered Epona’s ability to speak English when she looked up at him with her big, beautiful blue eyes and said “I love you, Daddy.” Shocked with the sudden realization that she was in fact his daughter, all of his ideas for her suddenly came crashing to the ground. He could not expose her to speaking engagements and the poking and prodding of other scientists. He would not be able to perform an autopsy on her if she died. He was suddenly ashamed of himself and vowed that the scientific community would not find out about her. He briefly toys with the idea of killing her to protect her from a life of ridicule and being cooped up in the manor, but ultimately decides that he will train her in survival techniques and when she is ready he will leave the manor with all his things, go to a catholic church to confess his sins and never speak of it again, returning to his life in the scientific community. However, the guilt he feels for what he has done in creating Epona never leaves him.

Being raised by a father wracked with guilt about whether or not he was ultimately going to abandon her, Epona obviously developed some serious social issues. She was forbidden to watch the television and her activities were closely monitored to make sure she wasn’t getting any information about humans being the norm. Her father was determined that she should never be made to feel bad about being who she was. He taught her as much science as she could absorb; from biology to ecology to botany to anatomy to religion. He taught her survival techniques and as much first aid as could possibly relate to her body. Finally, he taught her how to defend herself. At last, on her fourteenth birthday he told her that it was time for her final test. Epona would have to go into the woods of the Seaside Manor property and survive by herself for a week. He explained that it was a coming of age tradition and that everyone had to strike out on their own at some point. Confident in her abilities, Epona left with very few supplies and masterfully survived the week, enjoying the time to run free and meditate. When she returned happily to her father’s home on the final night, she discovered all of his things absent from the house.

After searching the house, she found all of her belongings present, along with a pile of non-perishable foods, some new clothes, a hunting knife, and a few pieces of flint. Believing the test was continued, Epona gathered a pack of her things and left the manor in search of her father. Shocked to find no one like her in town, and surprised by the stares and shrieks of a few locals, Epona spooked and ran into Adohi Forest, where she finally collapsed beside a small pond utterly exhausted. Finally the pieces of her lessons come together and Epona begins to realize she is the only one of her kind. She finds a letter from her father in her pack and realizes she has been abandoned. She cries herself to sleep and is ultimately found by Secret, who helps her get back on her feet.

It’s been six months since she was abandoned and Epona has begun to feel free again. She does not feel like she is a freak, knowing that without god she never would have lived in the first place, so she must be on earth for a reason. She has made herself happy in her forest home and ultimately returned to the Seaside Manor late at night for the rest of her things as well as a few supplies she could scrounge.
Goals/Motives: Though she is at peace in the forest, she secretly desires to be accepted by a group of people. She’ll do almost anything for praise and attention. (This, I guess, would make her dangerous for a while, because whichever group got to her first and showered her with the most friendliness would have her. Ultimately, however, Epona doesn’t like hurting things)
Vices: Shying and spooking are considered vices in the equine world, and in Epona it has a lot to do with her lack of trust for humans. When put in a tight spot she has a tendency to back up (sometimes leading herself into corners) and then biting and kicking to get out. To some extent she creates her own stress, making situations worse than they must be.
Other:
  • Epona is a vegetarian and biologically incapable of digesting meats.
  • Since moving to Adohi forest, Epona has found the company of a hawk she has named Tala who was abandoned when its mother’s nest was disturbed because of its proximity to a construction site. They take care of each other and can even communicate with one another.
  • Epona is loosely based on the Celtic Goddess of the same name. She was, obviously, a horse goddess who born when a man (who hated women) “coupled” with a mare. She was a woman who is often depicted with horses (riding them, taming them, on a throne carried by them) and is sometimes depicted as a mare with a foal. For this reason, some historians think the Celts believed she could transform from human to horse. As a goddess, her duties were to protect horses, donkeys, mules. She was seen as a goddess of fertility and her main duty was to ferry souls to the afterlife. Ironically, this character Epona can have no offspring because of her hybrid status (and therefore is infertile). However, she may wind up the guardian of Adohi Forest, guiding people through the woods when they get caught in Secret’s traps, or allowing them entrance when Secret wishes to speak with them.
  • For all intensive purposes, I’ll be going on the following internal and skeletal structures of the centaur (in case of injury). If I use any terminology for the horse parts of her body you can use this diagram for reference.

User ImageName: Lama Akar
Current Age: 56
Appearance: Lama Akbar wears the traditional garb and shaved head of a Tibetan Buddhist teacher, and almost always carries his staff and mala. Beyond a razor, a mat, a zufi, and a small bowl for food, Lama Akbar has no other possessions. He is a short and thin man, but has a powerful energy about him.
Primary Power: Lama Akar is quite adept with energy manipulation involved in the practice of Tai Chi and is proficient at the Buddhist mystic's skill of divining the future.
Personality: Lama Akar is inherently good because of his Buddhist beliefs. To "Do No Harm" is the core of his belief, but unfortunately this does not rub off on Rowena. His skills with energy manipulation have many implications, but he insists that they are only to be used to ease suffering and for ones own mental training.
Biography: As an exiled Buddhist in America, Lama Akar keeps close contact with the Dalai Lama in New York. He chose the monastic life as a small boy, after the traditional year of training that all Buddhist boys experience. Since then he has become a great Buddhist teacher in the Lineage of the Buddha. He quickly picked up the role of the mystic in the monastery as he was a natural at the manipulation of energies and divination of the future. He misses the deep chanting and drumming of the meditation sessions in his home country, though he is deeply devoted to the deities of his old country. He has no living family, but is content in his life of solitude.
Goals/Motives: He has recently come to Delmor to be Rowena Lasairona's personal mentor and buddhist teacher.
Vices: He's a Buddhist monk! He doesn't have any!
Other: Lama Akar is a vegetarian, but if food is offered to him as a gift with meat in it he will accept and eat joyfully.

Name: Julius Burns
AKA: The Dramatist User ImageUser Image
Current Age:34
DoB: August 9th
Appearance: Julius is about 5’ 10’’ give or take an inch depending on what shoes he is wearing. At 150 lbs., his jet black hair and light skin are offset by his eyes, which are an intense purple. Also he is in rather good physical condition.
Costume: The Dramatist, as is obvious from the name, has a dramatic streak in him about 30 miles wide. He dresses in the most refined way. His tuxedo as well as his shoes are custom made from Italy, and consists of a black suit, with a silk white shirt and cumber bun. His black cape is kept in place with a small, yet sturdy, chain of platinum. His mask is a tribute to the classic Greek theater masks. His cane is topped with silver and is actually hardened steel.
Primary Power: Deceit. As you all know acting is nothing more then lying with props, and as Julius is a superb actor, he is therefore a perfect liar.
Secondary Power(s): Stealth. One thing that is just as important as an actor’s acting skills is their ability to change into and out of costume very quickly and quietly. This skill, perfect over many many years of costume changes now allows him to follow his quarry almost as if he weren’t there at all.
Weakness: Normal
Personality: Julius is a very well known and respected famous actor. He has received 3 Tonys, and 2 Golden Globes. Julius is generous to the point of stupidity. On several occasions he has been known to go broke just giving money away to people, or buying them things, or just taking them out to dinner. He loves volunteering and helping people. However aside from the wonderful little show of confidence and smugness he puts on for the press, he is actually not all that great off. He is very self critical, and hates watching himself on camera. His façade will break down from time to time revealing a troubled and unhappy man. This is due to a rather troubling and haunting past that follows him.
Bio: Julius grew up an effeminate theater kid in a football town. He had no father, and his mother worked 2 jobs just to keep them afloat. He was self sufficient at a very early age. In high school he finally found a niche: the theater department. His senior year, he met Her. She already had a boyfriend, but wanted out of the relationship. The boyfriend hated Julius. A year later she died in childbirth. After putting the baby up for adoption Julius left, feeling as if he had ruined not only his life, but hers and his newborn daughter's as well. He decided to pursue the one thing left for him in the world, the theater. The boyfriend, blaming Julius for her death, followed.
Goal/Motive: Julius is in town on personal business. He is guilt ridden with leaving his daughter for adoption and now has come to Delmor to find her, apologize and see if she will come live with him in NY. He has also come here to escape, not from the paparazzi, but from his past.
Vice: Julius has a rather bad habit of just leaving conversation, parties, board meetings, whatever, when he thinks they are done or gets distracted. Because of this he usually misses important stuff and has to play catch up later.
Other: He has a daughter who he hasn’t seen in 16 years.

User ImageName: James Cross

AKA: N/A

Current Age: 20

DoB: November 25

Appearance: James is a wooping 6'3. He is about 195 pounds, but most of that is muscle. In a word, James is built... and also extremely good-looking. He is the type of guy every girl would want to get with. He has thick, long, and wavy dirty blonde hair and has clear blue eyes. (A weird fact about James's eyes is that his right eye has a little bit of gray mixxed in with the blue, making James's eyes very unique). He always stands straight up and never sloutches, a trait that the police force has already hammered into his life.

Costume: N/A

Primary Power: James Cross has armor that is hidden underneath his real skin. This armor is made out of the strongest metal on earth and is near destructible. Bullets nor knives can penetarate this man's unique armor.

Secondary Power: Because of the extra armor James obtained, he now has double the strength. A light punch could cause a regular human man to go flying. He is able to now lift things three times his weight and maybe a little more than that. Let's just say, he is one strong dude.

Weakness: For now, James Cross's only weakness is intense heat for it will melt the metal that lies underneath his skin. Yes... like the Wicked Witch of West and that is not a good thing at all!

Personality: James is probably the nicest guy you will ever meet. He is always offering a helping hand to anyone who needs it, whether the favor is big or small. He has this weird, yet amazing quark to help out anyone he can. He hates it when people are upset and depressed, which might sometimes be a problem when you want to become a cop, especially in Delmor. The good thing about James though is that when he needs to get down to business, he is ready and as serious as ever. As much as he does like to help people with a smile, he has to take everything with a very serious tone. He is also very smart and is able to put things together quicker than other people. The mysterious thing about James is that he sometimes spaces out and will either stare blankly at an object or look around like he is searching for something... or someone.

Updated Bio: The only part of James Cross's past that has been revealed is that he lost a loved one named Tyler for some unknown reason. What people do know is that James did spend his junior and senior year at DUHS after many years of home schooling. He lived with his grandmother who tragically died shortly after James's graduation from a can-opener accident. James, then 18, decided not to go to college, but to join the police force. He signed up for the four year Police Academy which is stationed right near the actual Police Station. James has no close friends from his past, but he has a handful of aquintances at the Academy, though many resent him because in his first year at the Academy he had the highest scores out of all of the young cadets. James is currently enrolled in his sophmore year at the academy.

Goal/Motive: James want to help people in any way he can. He has seen how Delmor is slowly becoming a city of evil and hopes to stop it as best as he can.

Vices: Because of his intense urge to help people, James can sometimes get very stressed out and tends not to care too much about a personal life or even for his own safety.

RP Story So Far: (Will be updated soon)

Name Adohi
AKA Secret
Current Age 16
Appearance Secret has straight black hair that reaches down to her chin; it is somewhat bowl-shaped, but there doesn't seem to be anything special about it. Her eyes are grey and lifeless; her face is fairly unremarkable. She's somewhat short for her age, and her body is still fairly weak from two years of bed rest. Otherwise, she could disappear into any size crowd and never be noticed.
Costume Long silver robes cascade down from her shoulders, hiding her form beneath the billowy fabric. The sleeves are entirely too long, reaching down to her ankles, but the bottom hem is high enough not to allow tripping. The cut is very unique; while most similar garments have pleats running up to the neck line, the pleats on this robe lead to the shoulder. As a result, the ten-pound robe feels surprisingly light. A cowl hangs down on the back, and a simple, smoky-grey sash holds the garment up.
User Image
Primary Power Secret can extend her consciousness around her with very long range, and she can imbue her consciousness into these areas. This imbued territory is her "demesne"; within her demesne, she gains substantial control over magical happenings along with heightened awareness within its borders. For example, if her demesne reaches into a forest, she can detect intruders and could attack them with tree roots and mushroom spores. Usually, though, her attacks are unintentional and based on her inner dreamscape.
Secondary Power She knows some evocation spells, but she much prefers divination. She can only pick up general sentiments and premonitions of present and future events, but her skill in detection is second to none. Being deeply in tune with magic, she has exceptionally high resistance to most forms of magic. However, being in an environment that is highly charged with magic will usually unbalance her emotionally and drive her into a blind frenzy.
Weaknesses Her mind is shattered and can take little abuse. She can't handle stress well, as her usual method for doing so is escaping into her imagination. She's mostly safe there, but it hinges on not being confronted with reality. Her magic is based on old arts, so if anyone ever learned her True Name, they could use it against her to open her up to magical assault. The most effective attacks against her are psychic and psychological. As far as physical attacks go, she is slightly frail but can hold her own; she is somewhat weak to heat and light but somewhat strong against cold and darkness.

Personality At heart, Secret is an escapist. She avoids confrontation, and if she can help it, reality whenever possible. She's naturally timid and reclusive but not at all antisocial. In small company she can be quite friendly and outgoing, but she withdraws easily. At best, her mental state is questionable; her emotions change with little warning, she's hardly ever coherent, and she has a poor attention span. She makes a point of carrying an air of mystery about her, though this usually doesn't go over very well with more practical people.
Biography Even before her birth, the foundations of Secret's state of mind were being made. Her parents were both escapists: when living became too stressful, her father got wrapped up in his vices and her mother ran. After she was born, her mother would take her away with her whenever she couldn't stand being there. Secret learned most of her behavior from them, using books and her imagination instead of physical distance or normal addictions to escape the stressors in her life. She was a regular visitor at her local library, eventually gaining access to the restricted section. It was here that she obtained her first magic book. She was delighted to learn of worlds and planes of existence outside of her own, and she devoured this new knowledge with a hunger known only to people in third-world countries. She didn't particularly care to put any of it into practice, with the exception of astral projection. Her mind now ran wild in a much more literal context. Unfortunately, reality was always close on her heels, and the stress would cause her to lose control over her powers. Her first crime happened in the fun house of a local carnival; as she was trying to escape the crushing truth of her existence, she shattered every mirror in the building at once.

This powerful, uncontrolled magic did not go unnoticed. A man soon approached Secret's family, offering to put her through a private boarding school on his own dime. The parents, already deep in financial ruin, gave in and waved off their daughter. The boarding school turned out to be a magic academy, of sorts. There, she was instructed by skilled professors who helped her regain control. She was very successful there, but the work was tough and she had few friends. Stress became a growing problem, so she stepped outside herself more and more frequently. Her distress reached a climax at the age of 14, when she was asked to apply her brilliant mind to the creation of a thesis on magic theory. She became plagued by self-doubt and feelings of incompetence, and soon enough she became overwhelmed. She permanently stepped outside of her body, leaving it behind in a vegetative state. While her body atrophied, her soul was off to the Ethereal Plane.

The Ethereal Plane was an amazing place, with many new sights, smells, and other senses. She lived there with the fae for two years, taking in much knowledge of the Ancient Ways and bathing in ethereal energy every day. However, no mortal was ever intended to live there. Her mind finally shattered from the overexposure. The fae, worried for her well-being, sent her back to her own body and reality. She soon found herself in a clinic near the slums she once called her home. This was too much for her--too much, too fast. She couldn't take in all of the unpleasantness: the bitter stench in the air, the waves of sorrow and malevolence radiating off of the people, and the near-stagnant flow of magic. If there was anything left of her sanity at this point, it took its final bow and departed. She reacted violently and left a trail of destruction heading straight into the forest in the park. From time to time, stories would emerge about the forest. A group of investigators were driven out with a bone-chilling fog. The forest came alive and attacked when local developers tried to clear some land. People who went into the forest have sworn that they saw a girl in a thick mist, and others have heard a frantic, disconnected voice on the wind.

Goals/Motives She's not evil, per se, but she doesn't seem to have much regard for the law or morals. She could probably be convinced to observe them or even become a superhero, if she ever became stable enough. Usually she's perfectly content being pulled along by the strings of fate. However, she misses her ethereal home and desires to stir up the flow of mana in the world.
Vices She's a bit of a bibliophile, but she does actually read the books she hoards. Her main vice, however, is being addicted to magic: she has a strong affinity to magical items, auras, and areas.
Other She is fond of traditions and customs. She always observes the 4 o'clock tea. She never reveals her name to anyone, much less her True Name. She always insists that it's "secret".

Name: Mariana Ruben
AKA: Bloody Mary
Current Age: 17
Appearance: Like a good wine, she’s red, robust, and full-bodied. Her hair is naturally a dark scarlet color, though some black dye is blended in and makes it look even darker. Her hair reaches down to the bottom lip of her shoulder blades, which she always leaves exposed when she can get away with it. Her rosy, heart-shaped face is a startling contrast to her personality and deep emerald eyes. A pair of wire frames rests on her short, rounded nose and reaches back behind her voluminous hair. Her lips are surprisingly thin in comparison to the rest of her. Her body itself is bounteous, but her curves are symmetrical and flowing. An accurate comparison would be a heavyset burlesque girl from the Wild West; she’d probably smirk at the suggestion. She’s a bit tall for her age, and when angry she can seem quite intimidating.
Costume: Her style is more than a bit eccentric. At school she wears a lot of black, morbid images, leather, and spikes. It would appear that she belongs in the Goth or Punk cliques, but her animated personality would prohibit her success in those fields. She’ll usually wear this outfit around town, as well. However, when she wants to do so, she can look quite sophisticated and wear dresses that are revealing (especially around the stomach) but surprisingly classy and tasteful.
User Image
Primary Power: She’s extremely resistant to pain and can continue to fight until her body gives out. As she loses blood, her rage swells and her appearance grows slightly demonic.
Secondary Powers: Despite her body shape, she’s actually quite fit and has great physical stamina. While not exactly thick-skinned, she can take a lot of hits and can lose a good bit of blood before collapsing. She’s fairly strong, and this becomes more apparent as she goes berserk.
Weaknesses: She must walk a razor’s edge; she’ll pass out and perhaps even die if she pushes herself too far. Controlling herself and holding back is made especially difficult by her fury. What’s more, because she can’t feel pain, she can’t effectively regulate her body temperature or sense when she’s injured.

Personality: Mariana is extremely extroverted; she thrives on human contact. Her friendly, playful attitude is quite often mistaken for being intrusive and raunchy; then again, that’s not far from the truth. She favors the company of introverts and misfits, though she’ll hang out with just about anyone who can tolerate her. She doesn’t get along with buzzkillers or people who are too serious, yet she’s fine with drama queens so long as they don’t cross her. At times she can have a quick temper, but she can just as easily show her motherly side.
Biography: Mariana was born with a genetic defect; she was unable to sense pain. As such, she was always seen as being a trooper when it came to uncomfortable situations, but she was rather delicate for a long time. Her parents, a rich psychologist and a stay-at-home mother, were always concerned with her welfare and constantly monitored her to the point of smothering her. On the plus side, she was able to get almost anything she asked for, within reason; however, this was at the price of her freedom and contact with other children her age. She quickly grew to resent her parents’ overbearing nature and rebelled vigorously during early adolescence. She grew to resent her upbringing and sheltered existence, and as a result she developed an affinity to the dangerous, exciting, low-class world. She badgered her parents and insisted to be introduced into public schooling toward the end of her middle-school homeschooling. The change was very difficult; she had scarcely learned how to interact with others, and much drama ensued. Girls were socially vicious and difficult to figure out, but she got along surprisingly well with boys. She frequently got into fights, some of which escalated into violence; this earned her the respect of a local street gang who welcomed her into their fold. While becoming a terror on the streets, she built her confidence back up and began to lighten up considerably. She now goes about life taking little seriously and having fun wherever she can.

Goals/Motives: She’s highly motivated by fun and needs to be surrounded by activity and people. She’s determined to live the good life and bring people out of their shells to spend it with her. Ultimately, though, she wants to live a life free of guilt and restraint.
Vices: She steals, drinks, scraps, and gambles. She’s also a member of a philosophy-obsessed street gang called the Rhetoricians. If you don’t pay them tribute, they’ll either jump you or engage in Socratic discourse until you give in.
Other: She’s obsessed with what she calls Low Culture, which essentially glorifies the lower class.

Name: Austin Aires
AKA: Eagle Eye
Current Age: 17
Appearance: With large, blue eyes, a blended, tanned skin, and sandy-colored hair, Austin sports his large frame and 6’2” height. He’s incredibly muscular (Not superhumanly, but he’s an ex-athlete who still works out a lot), and just as swift as he is strong. He doesn’t dress to ‘make a statement.’ He dresses to have clothes on, and is generally very plain in style. There once was a time when he cared about what people thought of his clothes, so he does put in enough effort to look and feel confident in his appearance, but it isn’t central to his life.
Costume: Eagle Eye looks like some sort of angel/kung-fu fighter. His vibrant reds, golden, and whites ensure everyone that he is a ‘good hero.’ If he were a bad guy, he could so use that to his advantage – but he’s not. So too bad. Eagle Eye’s wig is extremely convincing and designed to look as if there is always wind blowing through it. The rest of his costume was designed so that he could fly without losing it. Though it fits tightly, it looks loose. He wears a thick, blue and gold shoulder brace to counter some of the wind’s force. His quiver and belt are secured. He doesn’t worry about losing arrows or weapons in fight or flight.
Primary Power: Flight from wings
Secondary Power(s): Heightened sense of hearing. Heightened sense of vision. The ability to navigate his way to any location that he’s seen (even in photographs). On his own, he’s trained to develop heightened stamina, the ability to fight, and impressive hand-eye coordination. He wields a quarterstaff (along with two shorter staffs which he uses when he must have one weapon in each hand). On top of these, he’s also very well trained with the longbow – but he almost never uses it, since he has no intention of killing anyone. (He would have much preferred a compound bow, but he discovered that his archery skills had developed while the spirit was controlling him). Which brings us to the last power - of sorts. There seems to be a dormant Biblical spirit within him that has not come out in some time. Nobody quite understands what it means or what its purpose is, but it seems to have given Austin control of his wings and mind for now, even though it used to take control over the teenager at random times. Austin can’t remember what he did while it overpowered him.
Weakness: Normal. Though, I guess if the wings were to suddenly fail on him, his day would get much worse. Plus, the dormant, unknown, Biblical spirit poses a constant threat. It could choose to return whenever it pleases, and who knows what Austin would be capable of then?
Personality: Adults think he’s pretty nice. The popular kids used to love him and don’t understand what happened to him. His friends think he has a ton of potential to be awesome. Girls think he’s easy to manipulate.

Austin has always been plagued with this sense that he doesn’t belong to anything, although he wouldn’t admit it. This leads to a natural curiosity to try new things out. Maybe it’ll lead somewhere, he figures.

Interestingly enough, Austin’s exposure to the many levels of the social spectrum has left him more understanding and open to the plights of others. At the same time, it’s left him somewhat nostalgic of the days when he was at the top of the ladder. Slowly, his increasing decency and intellect has curved back downwards. Parts of his old self are returning – the guy who chased hot, stupid, girls – the guy who never thought on a deeper level – the ‘typical teenager.’ Now, Austin suffers because he can’t go back to the top, and his friends are distancing themselves from him. Austin doesn’t recognize it, but he’s creating a void for himself between good people and the person he used to be – the one he despises, but everyone else honored.
Biography: Austin Aires was born and placed in the arms of an extremely satisfied, prepared mother. She cradled him, whispered his name, and devoted the rest of her life to raising him to be good and happy. His father, on the other hand, couldn’t make it. He was working. Austin’s father figure was always his maternal Uncle Oual, who has been working as the Chief Detective in the Delmor Police Department for the better part of Austin’s life. Oual taught Austin about cool ‘man’ things. Oual sparked Austin’s interest in sports and crime fighting and superheroes as a little boy. At the same time, though, between Oual and his mother, Austin learned morals. He knew that, as cool as TV bad guys were, it was not cool to be like them.

The shock came when Austin was ten years old and his mother passed away unexpectedly in a robbery on her way home from work. At that point in his life, Austin showed signs of becoming his own man. His two role models had given him everything he needed. But now, in his final stage of dependency, half of himself was unjustly ripped away. And Oual couldn’t even figure out who had killed her, either. When he recovered from his original hysteria – which took a year of counseling, Austin began a steady decline. He remained close to Oual, but pushed even further away from his distant father. Oual moved in to care for Austin even though Lucas, the father, disproved and accused the man of stealing his son.

The troubles at home shook Austin, and he began to value a social life at the age of 13. Before long, Austin had been whipped into shape by friends. Everyone liked him, and he played basketball. A lot of it. However, Austin acted differently for every person he encountered, and tried to mirror them so that they would continue to like him.

By his freshman year in high school – and at the height of his popularity, Austin had developed quite a drinking problem, but remained fundamentally honest and kind. Teachers were okay with him, social crowds loved him. He seemed to be a leader, sticking to the beliefs of others, not getting on anyone’s bad side, being a star athlete. Plus, he was clearly sleeping with the hottest girl his age, his girlfriend of three months, Terra Sanders.

Half way through the year, Dante Daniels grew in importance to his life. Dante was always an acquaintance that Austin got along with, but he finally realized just how much he respected the guy – and how ridiculous it was that he kept avoiding him in front of his much cooler friends. Within the month, Austin shifted his priorities. Before long, he’d stopped his pretending and stepped into his own shoes. Now, he was respected as a person – not as a basketball player – within a smaller, but still liked group in school. In finding himself, he left a lot of his hobbies behind. No longer did he put on a public façade. He became Austin. No longer did he hide from people he respected just to please people who didn’t really care for who he really was. No longer was he drinking. No longer was he in a relationship with Terra Sanders. She left him, and he was shocked at how easy it was to put her out of his life. He even stopped playing basketball. He knew his potential, but he also knew that he didn’t really love the game in the first place.

Now, in his junior year, Austin’s reputation is simply ‘good guy.’ He’s happier than ever, his few good friends really appreciate him. Except, his academics have stayed average, he does not think deeply about much, and he has re-developed an impulsive attraction to hot girls that won’t really don’t do much good for his character. He even attended prom with the well known slut, Rowena Lasairona.

Months before prom, the most unique part of Austin’s life began. Austin drank a srange soda-like potion with unpredictable effects. In short, Austin grew wings, developed strange abilities that he hasn’t quite figured out, been overcome by a Biblical spirit, trained in archery, the staff, endurance, and pledged himself to military service in the private army of secretive Episcopalian priest, Father Robert Covington Blood against a flock of Catholic nuns. He’s still not very religious.

Whoa.
Goals/Motives: Driven by the concepts of belonging, leading, and being liked, Austin has shifted all of his focus onto the mastery of his abilities. A social life isn’t working out. Maybe Father Blood’s plan is worth his time? At this point, he is willing to take a risk and chance that he can make something out of himself with these powers.
Vices: Austin is not in touch with his desires at all. He works for all of his goals, but he’s not aware that he’s doing it. He can’t figure out why things don’t work for him in school because he can’t figure out who he really is. For example, the aforementioned void in his social life – he’s seen the changes it’s brought to his relationships, but he can’t recognize it for what it is, or his own part in it.

Other: Austin's wings were updated when tektek came out with them, so in his early posts, the wings look different than they do when shown here.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name: Ames Oual
AKA: “Chief” “Detective” or “Chief Detective
Current Age: 43
User ImageUser ImageAppearance: Standing at 6’0” and 160 pounds, Oual tends to dress, out of habit, somewhat formally, but at the same time, he’s trying to be informal. It creates an awkward, yet powerful image. He’s got deep blue eyes and a light brown haircolor to go along with his pale skin. He accidentally reflects the kindly, yet authoritative look he needs for work in his casual wear.
Costume: When at work, Oual sports a badge and a gun with various tools and a stereotypical brown suit. People would now immediately that he’s more than a cop.
Powers: Experience, training, intellect, and authority. He’s not exactly super, but in a sense… he passes. I think he’d have a chance against some of Delmor’s powered villains.
Weakness: He doesn’t have any real special capability. He’s just incredibly adept at what he does.
Personality: Let’s talk about a Type A personality as well as Oual. The two fit nicely together. He’s always on the go, driven, motivated, ect. As a person, he can be called friendly, wise, and understanding. After so many years with the force, he’s seen just about everything. Based off of your attitude towards him, he’ll treat you kindly or harshly, but no matter what, you’ll always feel like he’s thinking about what’s happening when he’s done with you. His focus is in many different places at once, following a tight schedule. This schedule is largely because he’s not the type of boss who throws work onto the shoulders of his employees.
Biography: After countless years of training and education, Ames Oual became a cop. Right after high school, he himself enrolled in Gilligan’s. Quickly advancing through ranks, he joined the detective’s force. Currently, he is the head of that department, overseeing most of Delmor’s crime wave. Besides his job, though, he is close with very few people personally.

Growing up, he was raised alongside his sister. He was extremely close to her, but once illness hit, she was taken away. At that point, she had married and given birth to Austin Aires. Oual and his nephew are also close to each other, while the father, Lucas, has remained somewhat of an acquaintance to both of these figures.

Back to growing up, since I got side-tracked. He was close to his mother and greatly admired his father. Unfortunately, his father was taken from them in a shooting accident as, he too, was a cop. Rather than scaring Ames away, this actually convinced him to fight crime. He became very intent on this, and personal matters lost their importance. Every crime and mystery solved made him even more determined. He never cared to live happily, but distracted himself with stopping criminal activity. Somehow, he got close to his nephew. This is probably because neither of them had real close family as they got older, and so turned to each other.

So, since this is so incredibly hard to grasp, here’s the overview: Ames Oual is the chief detective of Delmor. He cares about work and his nephew Austin. The end.
Goals/Motives: He simply wants to maintain Delmor’s crime wave.
Vices: Just his bad habit of rushing and talking to you like he’s awaiting his next appointment.
Other: (This spot will be used to update Oual’s adventure in summary form.)

Name: Lindsay Morris
AKA: The Charge
Current Age: 17
Appearance: User Image Lindsay is approximately 5'6", has blue eyes, shoulder-length, wavy brown hair, and weighs approximately 150 pounds. She has a reasonably athletic build, but not what one would call ripped. She tends to wear nice-looking but not too dressy clothes and is decent at accessorizing. She has a unique but not far-fetched style of clothing in general and often wears a headband, though mostly for the fashion of it and not for any general purpose.
Costume: As The Charge, Lindsay sports a light blue camisole, matching gloves and similar stockings, golden bracelets, a gold mask, yellow boots with blue trim, and a powder blue wig held in place with a golden comb. When she is "charged", yellow bolts of electricity tend to crackle and dance across her skin, so she looks a bit like she has yellow tattoos as they move. Also, while she is "charged", she uses two double-ended lightning-blades with a blue electric handle in the middle of each, and is almost never without them while "charged". She considers them to be her signature weapons, as she hardly ever changes their design, she simply makes them and uses them. Part of that might be that they are the most efficient designs of lightning-blade that she has tried, but then again, it might all be a flair for the dramatic.
"Uncharged":User Image "Charged": User Image "Charging": User Image
Primary Power: Control and manipulation of electricity.
Secondary Power(s): Although she fares better with her own lightning-blades, Lindsay has become skilled at using most swords and daggers. She has also begun to notice a vague ability to detect, though not for any real reason, the location and flow of electricity...
Weakness: Lindsay should not touch much water or metal while "charged up" because although she can control electricity, she is not by any means immune to its effects. Electric shocks hurt Lindsay just as much as they hurt everybody else and cannot be used to replenish energy supplies- Trust me, she's tried. When she is not using electricity at all, however, her weaknesses are normal.
Personality: Lindsay is actually a decent person at heart, but she tends to want to do things for herself rather than have to put up with all of the things she must do as The Charge. She believes that her ability was given to her by someone to help her help others, but at times, she wishes she didn't have such a naggy conscience that practically demands that she help someone if she knows that something is going on where her help might be necessary... and, seeing as the hero business is tiring work and she does feel that obligation, she can be irritable while tired or sleep-deprived. She is generally happy, but has a slight selfish streak and can be a bit judgmental at times, leading some to believe that she is harsh.
Biography: A Delmor native, Lindsay grew up on the Islandinsula, but it always seems to surprise her just when she thinks she has everything down. Regardless, though she only feels obligated to be a heroine, Lindsay believes that she ended up with her powers to help out. She does not remember the incident from which her abilities came thanks to all of the electricity causing a slight case of amnesia comparable to that experienced by some who have been struck by lightning. She does remember a lot of electricity, water (or at least something that looked like water), and being in the wrong place at the wrong time, after that it is a blank. She is currently finishing her junior year at DUHS.
Goals/Motives: Lindsay actually cares about helping people out in Delmor for more than shutting up her conscience, she just wishes it was on her own time. A more short-term motive for Lindsay is to get some spare time and to keep up a decent GPA. Sometimes, however, Lindsay is motivated more toward vengeance, but, luckily, this is a rare event and not commonplace.

Vices: Lindsay can be somewhat harsh and judgmental at times and can have the particularly nasty habit of jumping to conclusions.
Other: The only 'other' things I can think of are that Lindsay usually carries a backpack (not shown in the tektek) with her hero outfit concealed inside a box inside of the pack and that she cannot stand being called Linds. Just don't do it. ((Also, she will have very vague interaction with one or two of my old characters/NPCs. It could get amusing.))

Name: Rebecca Dusinane

AKA: The Crow (eventually)

Current Age: 16

Appearance: Rebecca is a pretty average looking sort of girl. She's five foot six, neither slender nor wide, and has brown hair and eyes... basically she's pretty plain. She could easily be one of those random people you see in stock footage of crowds on the news when they're talking about things that affect "most people." And frankly Rebecca doesn't put much into her personal appearance at all... seeing as she spends her work day with people who aren't in the earthly realm, there's not a lot of need for her to look specially nice. Usually her outfits consist of polo shirts and dress slacks, turtlenecks, etc.

Costume: As yet, none.

Primary Power: Necrokinesis. Rebecca seems to have the ability to manipulate the spirits--and bodies--of dead things. She's only recently discovered this "talent" and has a little trouble controlling it... sometimes dead animals will just follow her around and help her with her daily routine. This used to freak her out, but now she's grown used to it... at least she's gotten that one dog to stop delivering her newspaper.

Secondary Power(s): Spirit Communication. Rebecca is able to speak to the spirits of the recently-departed.

Weakness: She is terribly allergic to eggs and can barely even stand the sight of them. Do not eat eggs in her presence.

Personality: Rebecca is what most people would call quirky. Being so close to death on a daily basis gives her a rather dark sense of humor and manner of conversation, but despite her morbidity she isn't a pessimist or close to it. It's only recently that Rebecca has discovered there is anything out of the ordinary with her life. Rebecca likes things neat and orderly, and when they aren't that way she can get a little tetchy. Her temper has been rather brittle for a while because of this.

Biography:

Rebecca was born to the Dusinanes, proprieters of one of the most reputable funeral parlors in the area: Dusinane Funerary Home. It's a longstanding family business, one that she has every expectation of entering into. Rebecca feels that her future is pretty assured... a little morbid, yes, but she had never really thought it unnerving until beginning school. She was teased by the other students for her parents' rather morbid profession.

As the years went on, Rebecca stopped trying to be accepted and instead decided to try and turn things to her advantage. Instead of being hurt and offended when some idiot decided to make "boogie-boogie" noises at her or otherwise make unwarranted cracks about her parents' perfectly legitimate trade, she would simply stop, stare, and give them a creepy smile... perhaps with a phrase like "Take your Daughter to Work day is coming up... I sure hope I don't see you there, Jimmy."

She pretty much kept up with this attitude. It didn't earn her many friends, but she found that she rather enjoyed creeping people out. The solitude wasn't a great object... she got along well with her parents and she had never really been a people person anyhow.

When she entered high school, Rebecca began noticing something strange. When she squished spiders and insects, they seemed to come back to life... even when she squashed them repeatedly. She dealt with this by... not squashing them anymore. Frankly it was a little too weird for her to try to explain to anyone. Other things began happening... once she was on a walk and saw a roadkilled squirrel get up and skitter off, despite the fact that its innards were still a pink mash.

Rebecca has decided not to tell anyone about these strange occurances... so far, they have only happened when she was alone which leads her to believe them a hallucination of some kind. It happens sporadically, anywhere from a few days separated to a few months. Now a junior, Rebecca has told herself that the next time it happens she's telling somebdy about it.

Goals/Motives: Rebecca's goals are to first off, find out what the hell is going on with her life and how to fix it. A secondary goal is trying to figure out how her powers can be used in any way that's beneficial.

Vices: She watches TV court shows. Judge Judy is her favorite.

Other: Not at the moment!

Name: Matthew Andersson
AKA: Mandersson (by friends & teachers), Mandy (by girls), Mando (by friends).
Current Age: 16
Appearance: User Image

Matt looks like a normal guy. He tends to wear band shirts, his favorite being Iron Maiden, and stands around 5' 8'' tall. He tends to wear black or blue jeans and sandals. His hair is a dirty blonde of around shoulder length which he normally tucks behind his ears.

Matt tends to slouch and has a wide stance when he walks. When just standing around he will put one foot forward and lean backwards almost like a casual en' guard stance. Matt doesn't mean to, but people tell him that when he walks around he projects an aura of self-confidence.

Matt wears near completely white fencing gear. With white knickers, socks, jacket, and plastron. His lamé is a metallic gray with Andersson USA written on the back. He uses a black, white mask that allows his face to be seen relatively easily. Matt insists on using a Belgian pistol grip as it allows for more fine point control. His engaurd is relatively relaxed compared to some of his opponents with his left arm down and his foil in a high six. He uses fluid motions to move back and forth and even his lunges and Flèche seem to fit in with the fluidity.
Costume: Matt doesn't fight crime and thus does not have a costume.
Primary Power: Matt has the ability to slow down or speed up his perception of time. This does not allow him to actually move any faster but it may increase his reaction time and will have a much better eye for detail. There is no penalty the more Matt uses his powers, though each time he uses his powers it gets more difficult to activate them. Matt has trained himself enough so that he can use it around 5-6 times without much effort but after that the chance of error increases. What might occur when an error occurs can range from nothing happening to the opposite effect (if he tries to slow time it might quicken it instead).
Secondary Power(s): None
Weakness: Matt is very frail and cannot take a hit, so he tries to avoid them whenever possible.
Personality: Matt's personality was really developed from his time in captivity. This taught Matt to be very self reliant. Though he sent most of his time in captivity being bored it didn't teach him patience. He still gets bored very easily. Matt tends to take a very neutral attitude in most affair and likes to hide his emotion. Though if he is happy people will know it. Not so much with anger. Overall, though, Matt tends to be happy. It would seem like Matt would have a lot of anger bottled up inside him as he tends to hide it from everyone else. But strangely enough he doesn't. Matt doesn't actually know why, it may be his meditation that helps him or maybe he subconsciously just doesn't bottle emotions up. But whatever reason it is Matt doesn't really care, as long as it works.
Matt treats his friends like a 16 year old treats their friends. Which means sometimes he can be a jerk but not always and he never means it. Matt is pretty neutral towards new people he meets. That is until he befriends them or defines them as someone really lame. And in the latter case he will do all that he can do to make their life miserable.
Matt long ago decided that God had given his rare gift. But so many bad things happen in the world that it just doesn't make sense that God is present. So Matt believes that God created a perfect world with the laws of nature and left to do something else. Because of his beliefs Matt defines himself as a modern Deist.
Biography: Matt grew up leading a pretty common life and had pretty common friendships. Around half way through sophomore year Matt was walking through the factory district of his hometown. While looking into the windows he saw a bunch of thugs loading some boxes into a truck. Any idiot could have seen that they were up to no good. Well they noticed him and apparently thought he knew what they were doing, which he didn't. So they grabbed, blindfolded, and stuffed him into a bag. He was in there for what seemed like forever being jostled back and forth uncomfortably. Eventually it seemed like they had arrived at their destination. Matt was thrown down some stairs and into a room with concrete walls, they had removed the blindfold and bag, with only a cot in it.
He stayed in that room being bored for what also seemed like forever. Too pass the time Matt meditated. He had always been decently spiritual and with nothing else to do Matt had nothing better to do. This is the time when he started to develop his powers. One day while Matt was sleeping he heard a loud crash and then gun shots. Matt felt this was his best opportunity so he sneaked up the stairs. Then a figure opened the door in front of him and aimed his gun at Matt. Thinking quickly Matt did a quick duck and went underneath the figures legs. He scrambled up and went for the first door he saw. It led straight outside into a snowy landscape. Matt, pumped up on adrenaline, just ran right through as quick as he could trying to get as far away from his prison as he could. He ran until the sun started coming up. That's when he noticed that he was really tired. Remembering boy scouts Matt set up a shelter and tried to sleep. It didn't work very well but he at least got his sweating down. He walked well into the afternoon before he found a small town, he learned he was in Russia. From here he managed to get a ride to the airport and using his parents credit he managed to get to Delmor, a town where Matt felt he could be safe for a short time.
Going to an Internet cafe, Matt researched what might have happened in Russia. It turned out that the man who kidnapped him was named Damian Riggs. He was selling nuclear weaponry to the Russians and Matt had gotten caught in the middle of it. The American government decided to take this threat out quickly and that was how Matt got out. It turned out that Matt's parents thought he was dead and had abandoned all hope of him ever coming back. Matt took this very hard and lost all faith in his parents. He decided to stay in Delmor and go to the school there. He lives in a low income apartment located on Pioneer Lane. He doesn't really make a big deal out of his ordeal as he feels that everyone has their secrets so people tend to treat him normally. Matt has always been gifted with school and was able to keep up with the curriculum, but because of this he doesn't take his education very seriously. He really only applies himself to his fencing and meditation. But because his lack of care for education it is not unlikely that he will get one or two or three or maybe four detentions a week. The primary misdemeanor that applies to him is talking back to teachers. He really only does this when they are wrong or when his opinion is different in which case he feels the need to debate the topic.
Goals/Motives: Matt hasn't really decided what his goals in life are. Right now he really just wants to survive, develop his powers and get better at fencing.
Vices: Matt tends to be very sarcastic and can come off as a jerk. He doesn't really mean it but for someone who doesn't know it they might think he actually is a jerk.
Other: If the reader has not already picked this up Matt Andersson is a avid foil fencer.

User ImageName: Nathaniel Vincent Pease
AKA: The Lightkeeper
Current Age: 52
DoB: March 23
Appearance: Nathaniel looks like a first mate from the 1800s. He does not quite have the arrogant look of a captain, but his large beard, and his naval-inspired outfit of water-proof clothing definitely give him at least a first-mate look.
Costume: Classic old salty look: A yellow rain coat over a white-with-thin-red-stripes shirt, jeans and rain boots. Sometimes carries an old ship lantern. Often smokes a pipe, which he lights using a magnifying glass to focus light on the tobacco. He says this lights it cleaner, and is more effective on windy days (many of which happen, to be fair, on Delmor), but I still think he's just showing off.
Primary Power: Light... Nathaniel actually creates light. He does this by focusing and strengthening natural wavelengths around him. He can change the frequency of electromagnetic waves in order to focus them within the visible light structure. Ideal he, could focus them to any frequency within the electromagnetic spectrum, but he reserves himself to the visible light spectrum due to his magnificent eyesight. He never really got the other frequencies as well tuned.
Secondary Power(s): Extraordinary eyesight. The man can see things from miles away you'd miss at the end of a mere football field.
Weakness: He's old. He's human. He thinks that by striking him down you would make him more powerful. He's used to being a teacher, not hard action. You know, the usual.
Personality: He may appear to be a bit frosty, perhaps even indifferent when you first meet him, but if you get a few drinks (scotch, 12 years or 24, the 18 year old scotch, he says, are weak and overpriced) in him he'll have you laughing uproariously at one of his old stories. Once you actually get to know him, though, you'll realize he's really just frosty and indifferent. Turns out you can judge a book by a cover.
Bio: Nathaniel was born on the sea, in a rocky fishing vessel on which his father and mother, Irish expatriates where stowed away. Due to their need of hospital facilities, they were dropped ashore at the nearest port, which was Delmor, not Boston as his mother and father were hoping. In a ploy to remain inconspicuous they named their son after a street sign they had seen on the way to the hospital, hoping that it would be a popular island name. It was in fact the name of a prominent social figure in Delmor's past who had been among the first settlers of the town. Unfortunately this led to numerous questions of "Are you really related to Nathaniel Pease?" rather than inconspicuousness, so that kind of backfired.
This incessant question, however, did strengthen one of Nathaniel's natural talents: storytelling. He was well loved for his boisterous demeanor throughout high school, and was hoping to carry on this attitude to a prominent college in the Boston area. Unfortunately, at this time, his mother became very ill, so Nathaniel had to give up the future in order to help save the past, who was going to die anyways. This decision would piss him off royally, and eventually make him one of the saltier of dogs on the pier.
He began drinking after the deaths of his parents, because the smell of whiskey reminded unconscious parts of him of his father, whom he would never admit to missing. He kept on with the fishing carrier he had taken on to help his Mother through her illness, and slowly gained a name for himself with his magnificent eyesight, being able to predict wind changes by ripples seen in water from miles off.
He was, however, unable to escape the throes of one particularly violent storm. It was Halloween night, 1991, and an extratropical nor'easter descended quite suddenly on the Albatross a small fishing boat which Pease was the acting as the first mate aboard. As the ship went down, Pease was still at the radio. The salt water fried the machine, and currents of electromagnetic energy were passed into Pease. Crew members of the fishing vessel Olympic which found the survivors of the Albatross recall seeing a brilliant light "like a sign from God." Although Pease himself claims not to remember the incident at all.
It was soon thereafter though, that he moved into the North Break Lighthouse and began developing his powers. Soon violent rumors began to circle about Pease, his alcoholism, and his sorcery. Marty Greevey the local hardware store owner swears the man has never once bought a light bulb for his light house, from him or anyone else. "Trust me," he will say, "He wouldn't be able to do it without me knowing."
Other: Pease's current pastime is chasing teenagers off "his" beach at night, where they often go to make out. Naturally, even though it is night time, he can see them most nights.

Name: Father Robert Covington Blood IV
AKA: N/A
Current Age: 35
User ImageAppearance: Stern, solid, serious. Robert is probably around 6' 5" 250 pounds, but the way he moves is far too graceful and precise for such a body type, so nobody guesses his actual dimensions. He has neatly cropped deep brown hair kept in a style which the ladies generally call "totally uninteresting," his eyebrows are also brown, and rather thick, and for the trifecta, his eyes are deep brown as well. his mouth is thin, and hardly smiles. He wears a small Imperial beard of his thick, dark-brown hair, it's pretty badass looking, I'm not gonna lie.
Costume: Robert wears a lot of black. Well, of course, it's prescribed by the church, so he must. He wears the ankle-length, close-fitting, double-breasted black cassock robe of the Anglican clergy with a full collared white shirt below. The design of the cassock is such that only a small square of the white shirt shows up at the neck, mimicking the look of the roman tabbed-collar by which the clergy are recognized. He belts the robe tightly about the waste with an elegant black sash with the slightest hint of purple. The purple hints to perhaps a little more pride than the priest should have. He uses a very fine cane, reminiscent of turn-of-the century aristocracy. But secretly the cain is also a sword! He wears fairly simple black pants underneath and rather expensive shoes. And he's got a sweet hat. Man, I wish I could dress like this guy every day.
Primary Power: Robert Blood has unlocked many powers of the mind. Most of those things which we, for simplicity's sake, relegate to the subconscious Robert can assume conscious control of. His heart rate, his breathing, his hormones, enzymes, and proteins, he has vast control over all of these. He can sleep when he wants to, without needing to wait for tiredness to overtake him. He can pass any lie detection. He is perfectly unreadable, frighteningly brilliant, ridiculously fast, and has the endurance of an ox.
Secondary Power(s): He has built a vast palace in his mind, in which he can store any memory, remember any moment.
Tertiary Power: His cane is a fricken sword, I don't know if you're fully grasping this. A sword!
Weakness: He has no idea how to maintain relationships with people. He can pretend to be a friend, but he can never understand the human feelings required to actually be one. Those feelings barely exist in him. It is only a matter of time before his act crumbles, and the people of Delmor see the monster within.
Personality: Father Robert Blood finds himself always the teacher. This is probably natural since he is more mentally capable than us. Of course due to a mild case of sociopathy he really has no empathy for us the students, and is perfectly willing to inflict as much pain as needed to get a lesson across. That said, he's very good at making people do better at life, when he can let them live. Blood is fascinated by anything he considers beautiful. He wants to experience as much beauty as possible. He loves when things come full circle, has an affinity for vicious irony, and his tastes exceed most things we can comprehend. Anything he considers rude or crude will be violently ejected from this world.
Biography: The Fathers Blood have been a presence in the Anglican Church since its inception at the hands of King Henry VIII. The Blood line itself was the brainchild of Thomas Cranmer, the Archbishop of Canterbury during the rules of Henry VIII and his son, Edward I. In an effort to keep an edge over the Catholic Church (Cranmer had always feared that there would be more repercussions from the Catholics than there ever were), he created a covert opts branch to the Church of England. The first thing this branch did was learn of their counterparts in the Catholic Church... and since then it's been a pretty constant space race between the two groups to create the perfect security team.
No one can say for certain when the Church of England moved from Eugenics in their quest for the perfect soldier to unadulterated genetics, but it was several generations before Robert Covington Blood IV. His father, Father Robert Covington Blood III, had been the commander of the Fathers Blood at the time of Robert's birth, and as such his son was payed special attention to. They put everything they had into Robert. And they created a genius, there's no doubt about that.
They raised the child in the finest schools, and he showed an amazing aptitude for learning, advancing faster than the rest of the young Brothers. He speaks more than half a dozen languages (including, of course, Latin), fluently (several in multiple dialects), and has a very deep understanding of mathematics and the sciences. However, he was never one for authority. As he grew, his teachers and overseers shifted gradually from disappointment in his treatment of his fellows to abject horror. Finally, after one particularly gruesome incident (involving a recreation of the scene at Golgotha) the Anglican church deemed Robert Convington Blood IV to be too much of a liability, and sent them to that place where the Church of England sends all of its failures: America (specifically the north-eastern part, aptly named "New England"). Here the plan was to keep an eye on him, moving him from Episcopalian ward to Episcopalian ward. However, that was right about the time that the Catholic Church began its attacks, and Robert Covington Blood IV was able to slip under radar.
He went straight for the cloth, becoming an incredibly young ordained minister. He first was deacon, and then (after an opening created under somewhat mysterious circumstances) took control as the Rector at Trinity Episcopal Church on the islandinsula of Delmor. He has served here for a few years, and is beginning to think of the small place as home. At the same time, though, he finds himself bored from time to time. Bored is the last thing you want someone like Father Robert Covington Blood IV to be.
Goals/Motives: See personality, this section gives a pretty concise run down about what drives our preacher friend.
Vices: Seriously? He's a fricken genius sociopath with immaculate taste and you want me to devote more time to his vices?
Other: Father Robert Convington Blood possesses something which makes him very very dangerous to very very powerful people. This may get him in trouble some day.

The Girl Who Can

PostPosted: Sun Dec 28, 2008 10:12 pm

Name: Tehra LeVerryn
AKA: The Guardian
Current Age: 17
Appearance: She is 5'7", 135 lbs. Her eyes are teal in human form and crimson when she is The Guardian. Tehra's hair is bright pink.
User ImageTehra normal: She usually just wears your basic fashionable shirt and jeans. Nothing all that special. Her hair is always down in its natural curl. She doesn't wear any jewelry in particular, just the usual fashion jewelry.

The Guardian: Tehra wears all black. She wears tight pants that allow ease of movement without getting in the way, she wears boots that have no heel. They are more for use than for fashion. Her left arm has strong leather armor on it, her right arm only gloved and thats the arm she wields her sword with. Her wings appear in this form and her eyes are crimson, no longer hidden behind teal. She wears a belt to sheath her blade during flight or after a battle.
Costume: User Image As earlier described, the costume is functional. It is black so she can easier blend into the dark, her usual time for heroics. It fits well, that way nothing gets in the way. She looks a bit evil herself, due to her dark clothing, but Tehra has good intentions. She also always has the blade with her, that sword is very unique looking and the only one of its kind.
Primary Power: Typical Medevial style sword fighting, since the blade is not of human origin and it was the blade that killed her, Tehra's sword is pretty powerful. It aids her in knowing how to fight. For example, Tehra could easily kill a weaker vampire with her fallen blade, but if she lost her weapon and had to use a different one, she wouldn't be as skilled. (So I suppose that is a type of weakness) She is capable of hand to hand combat, but fares much better with her special blade
Secondary Power(s): Flight of course, considering she has giant black wings (She is able to hide them at will, along with her new red eyes, she normally keeps them the teal they were before) And she can die, though she is much more sustainable than a human. In general, she is faster than a human, has more endurance, and can jump higher. Basically her abilities are better because she is no longer human. Not much in the way of mystical/magical abilities, but she's a pretty strong melee fighter

Weakness: As earlier stated, she's not as powerful in sword combat if she doesn't have her blade. Tehra is also still somewhat new at being a fallen angel guardian, so Tehra may not always make the wisest decisions on the battlefield.

Personality: Tehra is relatively social. She's not Miss Popularity Top Girl, but she has her friends and she tends to get a long with people easily. Though Tehra doesn't have the happiest past, she tends to keep those things secret. Tehra is very concerned with keeping herself and The Guardian (what she calls her alter ego to keep them separate) two different people. She missed two days after the attack on her, but thats all. Tehra claimed she had been sick. Tehra went back to school like her normal happy, social self.

Tehra is one of those people that takes a long time to trust others, most likely stemming from worry of getting caught in the type of relationship her mother did. Tehra gives trust slowly and carefully, and she has yet to tell anyone about what happened that fall evening. Tehra doesn't intend to. She's content to keep it inside her own heart and let people go on believing she's just another human.

Tehra has two steady habits- she twirls her hair when she needs something to do with her hands or if shes bored and lost in thought. Tehra also tends to bite her lower lip lightly if she's nervous, worried, or planning.
Biography: Tehra LeVerryn was born into a regular middle class family, a family with problems like most. She was an only child. Her parents fought a lot- loudly and sometimes even violently. Tehra was too young and naive to know that these fights were not normal- they were all she had known to be a life. That didn't mean she liked it. But until she was 17, it couldn't be helped.

So Tehra dealt with it, sucked it up, make friends, went to school, did everything any other kid growing up would do. She learned that other families had dark places as well, so Tehra didn't worry too much about her bickering parents. She made good grades, participated in choir and took piano lessons. Tehra grew up. At age 17, she moved out into her own small apartment with her parents permission and financial support, though she did work a part time job to help. After she moved out, her parents stopped curbing their fighting for her sake and the fights grew worse, her mother would tell her. Then one day she got a call, her mother was in the hospital after her father had lost his temper and really injured her. They divorced quickly after.

The divorce and the realization that her family was not average weighed heavily on Tehra's mind. She became a bit of an insomniac and would roam the notioriously empty and somewhat dangerous streets of her dismal city. It was on one of these nights, in the early autumn that her life changed.

She had been wandering alone and caught sight of a battle she shouldn't have seen. It was between a fallen angel (a fact she later learned) and some other creature. Tehra watched a moment too long and evil one grabbed her, putting her in the way of the fallen's blade (surprisingly he was the good guy). He couldn't pull the attack, and Tehra was killed. She later woke up to findthat she had been resurrected by the fallen. His name was Damien, he felt so guilty about killing her that he made her into a fellow fallen angel to return her stolen life. He gave her the blade that killed her, warning her that it was powerful and that it would aid her, protect her, and sometimes hurt her. He told her that he hoped she used to her newfound skills for good, using the blade, the wings, the eternal youth, the enhanced abilities to protect those attacked as she herself was. Damien warned that if she used these powers to kill and destroy, he would kill her. And thus Tehra became a high school student and a powerful fallen angel mixed into one.

Her parents issues have not left her completely untouched however. She has little patience for silly fights and even less patience for senseless violence. Tehra quickly got used to her new race and became the Dark Guardian of her city. When creatures or killers outside police jurisdiction, or outside of police courage, tormenting the lost, the lonely, or just the unlucky- all of which Tehra had been, Tehra is there with her blade and defends them. She gets hurt, she's not perfect. But Tehra defends to keep others from tragedy, because they may not have Damien to resurrect them, But they have Tehra to protect them.

Unfortunately, she had to leave her hometown- she hadn't been careful enough, people were starting to notice the winged woman in the sky. Tehra couldn't be discovered. If she was known to be the guardian, her friends would be victimized by angry criminals, or her home ruined, or 'fans' or curious bystanders would interrupt her work. She couldn't risk their lives. Tehra heard of a town by the name of Delmor, one with a fair amount of crime, and room for it to grow. So she went there, hoping she'd be better at keeping her alter ego a secret, though her normal teen form was very much social.

Goals/Motives: The most important thing to Tehra would have to be keeping others from her own fate. She feels that her life was stolen and returned to her for a reason. That to 'earn' her second chance per se, she had to save others. Tehra also knows that Damien, the fallen who brought her back, is watching. She can't mess up, or her second chance would be stolen. The second thing thats important to her is her secrecy. She is very concerned with people finding out who she truly is.
Vices: The only distinctive bad habit she has is that she can sometimes be rash, and that causes her physical injury. She also hs major trust issues
Other: Tehra is obsessed with being on time, like to an OCD level, but she has a passionate biting hate for her alarm clock, for obvious reasons.

Cael L Phoenix

PostPosted: Tue Jan 13, 2009 8:41 pm

Name: Michael L Xendy (pronounced Zendy)
Nickname: Cael (cuz everyone is Mike)
AKA: The Arcane Avenger (not yet, subject to change)
Sex: Male
Birthday: Sept. 13th
Current Age: 16
Current Class: High School Junior
User ImageAppearance: Cael has tussled brown hair, his left eye is green and his right is blue behind his black rimed glasses, an average body type usually wearing cargo pants and a black tee-shirt with a band or video game logo on it. There are a few things that Cael always carries in his pockets including a black lighter with a pink triangle on it (even though he doesn't smoke) given to him by his friend Serenity, his wallet, a cell phone, keys and his mp3 player.
Primary Power: Elemental Alchemy, through symbols and will Cael can control the elements of Water and Air.
Secondary Power(s): Advanced Alchemy would allow Cael to change parts of the physical would around him but he needs control of Earth and Fire to complete the circle of elements.
Weakness: Cael is a normal human and has normal human weaknesses. The powers that he gains are all learned from the Index and thus Cael cannot progress his abilities on his own. He carries the Index on him at all times so that he will never lose it. If it were to ever be lost, Cael would stop at nothing to get it back, at a time like this he might not act very logically.
Personality: If Cael were to be described in one word it would have to be loaner. He's never had alot of social tact and people can sometimes find him to be rough around the edges, coming off to alot of people as angry and self-centered. Even so he still finds a way to make friends and to keep the ones he cares about the most. He's always had his friend Serenity to fall back on when he had noone else, though he sometimes likes to be away from her too. When Cael is alone, he spends alot of that time in his own world playing video games when he's home but spends most of his time sitting alone in local coffee shops wherever he is living (even though he doesn't drink coffee). Cael is not very fond of his family and seeks social connections in other places like school. He has gotten very adept at remaining unnoticed in a large crowd and at quietly sneaking away from somewhere he doesn’t want to be anymore. He hopes to find friends to connect with at this new school but will be ok by himself if he doesn't find anyone to connect with. He spends alot of time regretting things that have happened in his past, especially the small list of friends he's left behind. Cael always wishes to do the best for his friends but feels that most of the time he's just not good enough for them. Cael has learned over time to love the small things in life, it's a lesson he learned from Serenity. When Cael isn't causing trouble with his best friend, he spends alot of his time figuring out how things work. He likes to disassemble and reassemble things just to look at how the parts go together.
Despite lack of any religious direction and tendency to cause trouble from time to time, Cael thinks himself a rather moral person. One of the qualities that he values in himself and other people highest is loyalty. Whatever people say or do, as long as they care about and stay true to those they hold dear, he can forgive most other faults.
Family Life: Cael is an only child living with his mother and father. Cael's father, Stephen, has had many jobs over the years starting as a general contractor with inconsistent work and jumping from job to job trying to support the Xendy family, losing each for various reasons. Stephen Xendy now works for the local ferry service where he can be "at sea" for two weeks at a time. Cael's mother, Lara, has owned a small clothing shop called Little Threads. She used to make all of the clothes herself but now orders from major brand labels cuz noone buys original things anymore. She still likes to make clothes on the side though, especially to dress up her son for special occasions. Back in Vermont his best friend Serenity was treated as part of the family. She spent alot of tie at the Xendy house and Lara thought of her as her own daughter.
Biography: Cael lived in the mountains of Vermont before he moved to Delmor. Not only did he feel at home among the snow and the mountains, but he had also left the one person that he had cared for more than anyone else back there. Serenity Thorne worked weekends at the local ice cream shop, Frozen Hearts, but more importantly she had been Cael's friend since they were born. Cael's mother had all but adopted Serenity as her daughter. They're favorite thing to do together was to ride Cael's ATV up the back side of the mountain of the nearest ski resort and go snow tubing on their slopes without a lift pass. Though Cael denied it, he had fallen for her, even knowing he wasn't her type. Cael had learned so much from Serenity, things that he forgets from time to time, but things that help him keep his life on track. His misses her terribly, but can't bring himself to answer teh phone when she calls.
Goals/Motives: Cael's main drive is the need to understand. People, machines, The Alchemy Index, whatever is a mystery to him he strives to unravel. He is also hoping that he can try and figure out his feelings for Serenity while he is away from her so that he can be a better friend when they are reunited.
Vices: Cael doesn't always act the way that other people would expect him to. He can also lose himself easily in taking something apart (or studying the Index) and forget about everything else, including eating.
Other: In short, Cael is looking for something, but he's not sure what. When the Index falls into his life he sees it as the only thing that will make his life matter and focuses all his attention and time onto it.
His Relationship With Serenity: Serenity is Cael's best friend. He has been glad that he has been able to spend alot of his life with her. He realized a few years back that he had a massive crush on her, a feeling that he knows she will not return. He tries to hide it and play it down but he doesn't always acomplish this very well. It does annoy him that whenever he does fall back into a slump that Serenity does almost whatever she can to avoid talking about what is bothering him since he thinks she knows it's about her. While Cael was sad to leave Serenity back in Vermont when he moved, he was a little happy that he would be able to spend some time away from her and maybe be able to get over his crush.

The Alchemy Index: The Alchemy Index is a small 6" by 4" book. The cover is black with gold trim and red ink surrounding a circular Combination lock type device on either cover (I will work on a pic of it when I get the chance). The locking mechanism consists of a circle at the center and seven rotating rings all with different symbols etched into each ring. The rings can be rotated to show different designs but Cael isn't quite clear as to what the meaning of the locks are at this point or what they hide. The book's pages change what they say each time Cael opens it to read. Cael believes that the book is trying to teach him something in addition to Alchemy.

----Edit----
I've changed some of the details of this profile that haven't yet been introduced because they conflict with an up coming character. 02.07.09
