The Pacific Unity, locally known as The PU, is a small dance club located on one of Delmor's main roads. It is remarkable for a few reasons, one of which being its weekly "Teen Dance Nights" (Locally known as "***** Hour"). Another remarkable thing about this club is that it is the number one topic of angry Letters to the Editor, local police being a close second.

User Image"Alright, guys, this show starts in a half hour." Danielle made her way onto the stage, where the other three members of B.A.N.D. were practicing. "I'm not entirely happy with the rig-up here, but I should be able to give you what you need. What songs should I set up for?"

User Image"Well," Brandon took charge. Being lead singer gave him a certain amount of control over these things. "I was thinking 'American Moron' for starters. Followed by 'That Thing I Did' and 'Jig, Jig.' I'm open to suggestions, though." Brandon looked to Andrew, expecting his two cents.

Meanwhile, Danielle became distracted by some movement out the window. It looked like one of her security drones was removing a potential threat. She made a mental note to double check what they considered a threat. The last thing she needed was another fruit incident...

User Image"I'd like to play 'Unfeeling,' if you don't mind, Brandon," Andrew clapped his band mate on the back. "If you think you can do it, that is."

"Yeah, she's a little rough on the pipes," Brandon laughed, "But why not?"

"Alright," Danielle scribbled down the song names, "I think that might be too many, though. If you want to end with 'Riot In The Streets,' I mean."

User Image"No." As usual, everyone jumped when Nathan spoke.

"The big guy's against playing that one tonight," Brandon explained. "But I agree with him. It's supply and demand."

"I'll bet you don't even know what that means," Danielle teased.

"I do. If we don't give these teenagers the song tonight, there's a greater chance they'll come to hear it at prom. Plus, it'll help keep us out of trouble until every thing's ready."

"Wow, you are using your head," Danielle chuckled as a bouncer waved to them from the front door. "Oh, they're letting people in now. I'll get to the booth. Good luck, guys."

(Last post at the Funerary Home)

User ImageJames hopped into the police crusier and Laura sped away immediately. "What happened?" she asked James quickly. She knew Oual had came to see how James was doing with Laura. She was probably fearing for her life right now.

"Nothing." James said plainly. "Nothing except that maybe I was wrong about Oual. He doesn't want me to fail!"

"Of course he doesn't!" Laura exclaimed. "He isn't a bad guy."

James Cross nodded in agreement. "You are right. To be honest when he got to the funerary home I thought you and I were done for, but he seemed to think that your thinking on letting me go in there was spot on!" Out of the corner of Cross's eye he saw Laura wipe the nervous sweat away from her forehead. "He even gave me an actual job Laura! He wants me to be security at the Prom."

Laura then let out a laugh. "Prom? PROM?!?!?! Ha! You are in for a killer man. Prom duty sucks!"

If Cross still thought bad of Oual, Prom duty probably would have bothered him, but for some reason Oual did not seem to bother Cross all that much anymore. That was a good thing! Maybe this year long suspension from Gilligan's would not be so bad... as long as Oual continued showing a little bit of a nice side.

Laura continued, "Well if it is Prom you have to be at then maybe you should start studying up. There is a concert going on tonight at the Pacific Unity Club and B.A.N.D is playing at it... that's the band that this year's Prom has booked. B.A.N.D. has a history of causing riots. Maybe going to this concert tonight would not be a bad thing."

James thought this through for a moment and then answered. "You're right! Let's go!" but as he said this Laura pulled into the PU parking lot and then smiled.

"I wasn't going to give you a choice in the matter," she smiled.

User ImageUser ImageThey had been working on their dresses for ever. It had been weeks since they had done anything fun, and Cait and Jay needed desperately to get out of their houses. The dresses were coming along sure, but as they started working on bigger and bigger pieces of the dresses the mistakes became more major and starting over became more heartbreaking. The dresses were complicated because of their multi-purpose...ness....... They had to have vents for breathe-ability, be fashionable for a prom, and be at least somewhat accurate to the time period. It was a big challenge, and Cait and Jay were feeling a little bit over their heads. What better way to relax than by going to a concert at a sleazy night club for a band they thought were completely lame? Things like this never happened on Delmor, though, so they might as well just go and try to enjoy it. At the very least Cait and Jay would be able to make fun of the completely useless fangirls... The room was already a crush of them and Cait and Jay had to struggle inside towards a booth and seats. Luckily, the others seemed to be moving towards the stage to be as close as possible to the band, while Cait and Jay didn't really give a damn about the concert at all.

Jay flopped into the booth and scooted over to the inside to make room for Cait to get back from the bar where she was ordering a coffee. Jay had been recovering slowly, and her doctor couldn't seem to understand what had caused the burn she'd gotten in the explosion or exactly why it was taking so long to heal. It was, though, and she wasn't quite so hot all the time, and she could wear tighter clothing again. Before it was too painful to have clothes that close to her skin. The worst part of the healing process was that the burn was peeling off, like a sunburn might, and she left disgusting flakes of skin everywhere she went. Oh well, she was sure that skin couldn't be the worst thing they'd ever cleaned off a bench at the PU.

Cait returned quickly and sat down. She sniffed her coffee cautiously, wary of whatever strange things may have been put into it. She'd been shoved by some guy trying to get to the front and lost sight of the bartender for a second or two, which in her mind was just enough time for the bartender to slip something dastardly into her drink. If she'd been with anyone but Jay she might have made them drink the coffee first, but that wouldn't do any good with Jay. "Does this smell funny to you?"

"Cait, it's coffee. It always smells funny. Just drink it." Cait cautiously sipped, releasing the tension in her shoulders as she felt the warm nutty flavor of hazelnut coffee spread through her body.

"Yep....It's good....." Cait sighed in release and breathed into her coffee. "How have things with you and Dan been lately?"

"Ugh...lets not talk about it. He resents that I've been spending so much time with you working on the dresses for school. He's being a total jerk about it. I think he's just stressed about graduation, so I'm trying to brush it off... We'll see what happens though."

"Aww, man, that sucks." Cait took another sip of her coffee, "you are probably right though. Just try to give it some time."

User ImageDanielle watched as people began to flood in. Laughing quietly at the squeals from fan girls, she quickly ran through the light cues while the boys tuned their instruments. Everything was in order, of course. She tapped her finger against her headset, staring out at the stage in boredom. The board could (and did) run itself. It was looking like a long night.

"Well, there's always the new toy..." Danielle pulled out her scanner. It sat like a large metal paperweight until she plugged in her PDA. The screen flickered to life, displaying a rush of information unlike anything Danielle had expected. "They're... Everywhere?"

<<< Profile (Scroll down a bit)
User Image User Image The teenage-looking man stared across the table at his "date". As if he would ever go out with her, she was like his sister and that was quite the disgusting thought. This wasn't like ancient Greek myths or something. His lightly tanned skin and creamy walnut eyes hid his true looks from the humans surrounding the pair. The clothes he wore were also fake, disguising his dark, torn rags his "date" always wanted him to get rid of. The girl's brightly orange hair almost shone with it's inhuman light but she just kept it at bay, barely. She smiled and sipped her cider from her mug. The man groaned and looked around at the crowd of mostly humans around them. There were others mixing in but it seemed that the others had known better than to come tonight. He on the other hand...

"Chen, stop pouting," The girl scolded in her rich, autumn like voice.

"I nefer agreed to come hier, Carita," Chen replied dryly as he swirled the ice in his tea. His German accent was obvious, he didn't feel like sounding like the people in here or even Wales for that matter.

"Meanie," Carita started pouting.

"Hypocrite." Chen stood up and a few locks of his teal hair fall into his face. He turned to Carita and sighed, "I'm leafing."

"But we just got here!" Carita whined. To anyone else in the nearby area, they probably looked like a couple. The man shuddered and walked over to her.

"Stop it," he frowned and pushed his glasses farther up his nose, "I didn't know ve vere coming to de PU, ja? "Zpecially zince B.A.N.D. ist hier, I don't vant to be. I just vanted to get out of my loft... Nefer mind... I'm going.... anyvere else...."

"Hmp, well, that's the last time I invite you out with me, Little Brother," Carita frowned and returned to her cider, "I'll just call up Fiona."

Chen smiled faintly, he knew she would ask him to do something with her again. Just before he walked out past Carita, he moved her scroll (which looked like a book to humans) to across the table and under a napkin. Grinning wickedly, and turned and exited the busy club, which was filling up with squealing fangirls.

User ImageA crowd, finally. Cael had almost been getting social with the locals on his first day in town. He couldn't have that. But here, in this small town club, he could vanish into the anonymity of the crowd. Here he didn't have to exist, he just had to bare through horrible music.

"I guess it's time to let you out of here," he said opening the flap of his bag.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Turning back to Cael he seared warning him, "Don't you ever do that again! You should have more respect for the people around you, especially someone who is trying to teach you an ancient art."

Cael wasn't in the mood. "Lessons later. You were the one who wanted to enjoy the concert, go enjoy."

Kero flew off over the crowd muttering to himself as he went leaving Cael to fend for himself, just the way Cael wanted it. He looked around trying to find a place to hide from the people. There was a fully stocked bar at an all ages show. 'This really is a small town.' Cael wandered up the the bar and sitting himself down on one of the stools, ordered a grenadine and coke from the tender.

Cael sipped at his drink pulling the Alchemy Index from his bag to examine it. When he opened the book he found that the pages were still blank. Closing the book he examined the rotating mechanism on the cover. He tried turning the different pieces of the cover until they all suddenly clicked into place. The design on the cover was a strange diamondesque shape.

Curious, Cael opened the book to examine the inside of the cover, but the cover was not what interested Cael when he opened the book. The first page now had words on it, a title even. The top of the page read:

Water: Element of the First Moon, Messenger of Raden.

The text continued speaking first about the way in which water moves, then different symbols that would govern the control of water and what an alchemist would be able to do with control of this element. Cael read intently at the bar, sipping periodically from his drink, waiting for the expectantly horrible music to start.

(OOC: I haven't decided how much detail from the Index I am going to include in the main plot. Mostly I think I'll keep it to a minimum unless people have an interest in greater detail. I may put something somewhere with more detail but I don't know yet)

User ImageJames Cross looked out the window of the police crusier and saw the crowd already flocking into the doors of the club. It was obscene how many people were fitting into the club. James personally had never heard of this band that called themselves B.A.N.D. and frankly he didn't really want to hear them either. He glanced at Laura and nodded towards the entrance to the club, signaling that he was ready.

"Ha!" Laura laughed loudly. "If you think I am going in there you are crazy! It is your job Mister Cross. Not mine!"

James just gaped at Laura for a moment and then muttered a silent curse under his breath. 'Another mission solo,' he thought. 'This makes me wonder what this crazy lady did BEFORE I came around.' James threw himself out of the crusier and slammed the door. This was the last place hehad wanted to be. Before approaching the club doors he cast Laura one last menacing look. James turned forward again and came face to face with the club boucer. The man was an overweight bald black guy, a sterotypical bouncer and his name tag read: Tiny. 'Well that is irony.' James thought.

Tiny stared at James and ordered in a deep booming voice, "Back of the line cub scout!"

James looked at the gigantic line gathering outside of the club. Thinking quickly on his feet, he felt in his pockets and from his left side pocket produced Laura's badge that she had given him for the funerary home mission. James flashed it at the bouncer with the quickest snap of the wrist. "DPD. Official business." James said.

Tiny the bouncer bushed his double chin with his sausage fingers and then asked, "Your name is Laura Listerine?"

James Cross's face suddenly turned bright red and he himself examined the badge. He had forgotten that small minute detail before he had flashed Tiny his badge. "Long story... The details aren't something you would want to hear in this lifetime...." James was thinking on his feet.

"Save it." Tiny replied. "I get enough of this freak story s**t at my house son. Just go on in there and do your 'official business' and don't be flashing nobody else your damn badge."

James nodded his head excessively as Tiny the bouncer pushed him into the club.

User Image"It's a glitch, it has to be." Danielle stared at all the blinking dots. She pulled the image back, out of the club so she could view the entire land mass of Delmor. "Damn it, it is screwed up." The entire islandisula pulsed; either the land itself had superpowers or she'd made a huge mistake.

User Image"We're ready when you are," Andrew called over the headset. Danielle sighed, shut off her toy, and turned on the automated lightboard.

"Alright, boys, starting cues for 'American Moron' in 3... 2... 1..." The crowd exploded as the first notes of the song began. Danielle pulled her headphones off her ears and decided she'd get a drink.

The bar was nearly empty, not surprising given that the night had only just begun. Ordering a coke, Danielle plopped herself down in a stool, not even noticing the boy next to her.

User ImageCael finished the last written page and he could hardly believe the words he had just read. Water control? Was that possible? There was no other option but to test it. Cael ordered a refill of his drink and a glass of water. When the bar tender walked away he centered the glass on the bar and stared at it menacingly, willing it to move. It refused, rather adamantly for an inanimate object.

Cael thought back, there had been something about a circle. He flipped through the pages mumbling, "Circle, circle, circle." He found what he was looking for next to a picture labeled "Base-Element Transmutation Circle, Stage 1."
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
"An Apprentice Alchemist can use the first stage base-element circle to control the four base elements (tera, water, air, fire) in their purest forms. To complete a stage one circle, the desired elemental symbol must be inscribed at the center of the array."

'That sounds simple enough.' Cael turned the book over to examine the front cover again. 'I assume that is the symbol for water. I wonder if it matters what the circle is drawn with.' Flipping a few more pages, Cael found his answer.

"While Alchemist Chalk is the best substance for drawing a transmutation array, there are a number of suitable alternatives. Blood is the most common substitute for higher level transmutations.

Cael didn't like the sound of that. He didn't feel like self inflicting a hospital trip just to test the theories of an old book. He kept reading hoping there was more.

"Stones may be used on rough enough surfaces (this is a good substitution for tera based transmutations). However the easiest substitute for low level transmutations is common writing graphite.'
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Cael let out a sigh of relief. He rummaged through his bag and came out with a pencil full of common writing graphite. Clearing the bar in front of him, he drew the circle from the book and added the symbol for water to the center. He found himself wishing that the girl who had just sat right next to him at the near empty bar would go find herself somewhere else to enjoy her non-cherry-flavored coke.

Cael could remember the rest. He placed the glass of water at the center of the circle and his hands on the edge. He tried concentrating again. A few minutes went by without anything happening but just as he was about to give up he saw the contents of the glass start to swirl as the circle glowed with a dull white light. This filled Cael with so much joy that he let a big grin cross his face and forgot about concentrating. This was a very bad idea for in the next moment Cael had to shield himself from shards of flying glass and water when the glass exploded in front of him, wiping said grin from his face.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 14, 2009 9:39 am

User Image"What the hell!" Danielle jumped as the sound of shattering glass echoed as far as the noise in the club would allow. Which is to say she barely heard it. The thing that really tipped her off was the shower of water and glass.

"What happened?" Danielle spun in her seat to look at the boy next to her. He looked just as surprised as she was, perhaps more so. She took a moment to study him, noting right away that he was totally out of his element. "You don't strike me as one of B.A.N.D.'s umm... 'Traditional' fans. I'm Danielle, who are you?"

Damien had been walking out of the park when he came across a club of the town. What caught his eye had been the immense line, and a poster for B.A.N.D.- they were performing that very night. Damien did not particularly want to wait, but he knew that he needed to see this group, to get a feel for what they really were. He walked up to the bouncer, who was about to ask him to move when Damien held his gaze for a few moments, and the man- as if hypnotized, promptly let him in. Damien smirked to himself, that ability he hated so much really did come in handy sometimes.

As Damien entered, he felt a few of the girls in the room turn their eyes to look at him, but it was mostly because a man with long silky black hair did come off as a little odd in these modern times, but Damien would never cut it. He loved his hair, and it made him mysterious, made him stick out. He met a few of the pairs of eyes, greeting them with his kind smile, and then the girls promptly turned to their friends to dish about him. The band was already playing, but the audience still seemed relatively calm. If the new was correct, however, it would only be a matter of minutes before the fallen angel would see what he intended to see.

User ImageThe first notes of B.A.N.D. exploded and the crowd roared with cheering. James couldn't believe these losers on stage were able to get fangirls. From the sound of their first song James would much rather be listening to the smooth ballads of Christopher Lemieux or the yupity jazz styles of Brian Malone. What did James Cross care though? He was only here to survey what was to come soon. Glancing around he saw a boy muttering to himself when all of a sudden his glass of water seemed to combust right in front of him. James let out a sigh of disbelief.

"What the hell!" he said to himself and then made his way over to the boy, yet right at that moment a girl also approached him, probably to question the boy on what she had just seen as well.

User ImageCael took a second to assess the situation. It didn't feel like he was bleeding but that could still be the shock. For the moment he focused on other things, for instance the glass he had just sent flying in a million directions. Apparently this hadn't gone unnoticed either. He was wishing more and more that Danielle had sat somewhere else because he really didn't want to answer her questions. Existing options: ignore the question and walk away hoping she doesn't cause a scene or attempt to answer the question and hope for the best.

"The name's Cael. I'm not really here for the band, I'm here with a friend," he answered hesitantly over the din. "And I think I just blew up a glass of water with my mind." Apparently the second choice was the correct answer. If not for the shock Cael probably wouldn't have given Danielle his name but he was rather frazzled. Glancing around to see if anyone else had noticed, he saw a man with blonde hair who looked like a bouncer making his way through the crowd towards him. He added to the girl, "Also looks like I'm about the get in trouble for it."
