• Description: Im a really shy girl when it comes to expressing feelings. When I started out with my boyfriend and he said that he loved me I spent some days thinking about saying it to him; but since he is my 1st boyfriend and it was my first time hearing the frase "i love you" from someone who ment it- i was kind of nervous. So I wrote him this poem and read it to him. He thought it was the most original way for a shy girl to express her feelings to someone.
  Im a poet its the best way I can express myself.

Truth of my soul, words of my heart

Let me speak of this truth of my soul, words of my heart
Let it say what it hides in each beat
Silence, my absence of words if not of fear
My feelings are not the easiest to put to spoken words
My soul drives my heart to a raging beat when I hear you yet I know not how to translate.

I desire to say “I love you”, I desire to be yours
Yet I already know you’ve given yourself up to me.
“Be mine” You say, I am yours
“I love you” You say, I love you
(Sweep me off my feet and say that my amber eyes are beautiful)
God has a way of having us together and He has a way of letting us be meant for each other.

This is the truth of my soul, words of my heart
It is what lies in the deep core of my soul
Fear might be my enemy, silence my loss…yet in your arms I am myself
These weaknesses cease to exist, hold me in your arms so the trembling can stop.

No I’m not afraid, I’m not afraid because I trust you
No I’m not scared, I’m not scared because I love you as you do to me.
Hear my heart, hear it speak, let it say everything.
This is the truth of my soul and the words of my heart.
