tab Colors and lights glittered around the room like some sort of crazed light show. Streamers were flown, masked couples were dancing gracefully, and a group of musicians played a sweet melodic tune that swept everyone's hearts to the dance floor.
tab The most joyous of atmospheres, however, also mysterious and. . . passionate. Love could almost being smelt! It was blooming like wildflowers in every nook and cranny of the ball room. Some more, youthful and sneaky lovers stole away and the night was theirs to be alone...
tab Mia Godfrey was enjoying the sights, wondering just where to begin! In her many turns about the room, she happened to catch sight of an attractive young man. She did not know that this young man had also caught sight of her a while back and was trying a bit casually to gain her attention. (And apparently all was not for nothing). Mia naturally flushed for she had never seen such a lovely looking young man. Quite subconsciously, her feet had begun to move on their own towards this man.
tab Unfortunately, the orchestra had started up another song and this left poor Mia in the middle of hundreds of couples dancing in circles around her. She slipped her golden mask on, which was embedded with emeralds to match her flowing green gown and attempted to make her way through the throngs of people towards the direction she had last seen the man. Sadly, she had not found him.
tab It was just as she had given up hope that she felt a rhythmic 'tap tap tap' on her shoulder. Turning to see who this could possibly be, she was greeted with a golden mask to match her own (except it was not embedded with any gems of any sort). The wearer of the mask offered her a hand to dance. She could not refuse, for that would be impolite.
tab She came to find, after beginning with a slow, rather, sweet dance with this man, she quite enjoyed the company of this masked man. He made her laugh quite a bit with their constant battle to keep a conversation going whilst dancing. Most of the time... all conversation faded into a sweet silence, in which the two just savored looking into each others eyes.
tab By the time the two had finished about seven songs together, Mia was just dying to know the face of the one who could manage to not only make her laugh but also, maintain a steady and yet, light footed dance to match any song played. It was quite possible the masked man was dying to know the face of this girl who could deal with any lame attempt made for common conversation by him and also smile with such vivid happiness that seemed to come from just being there dancing with him.
tab But alas. Cinderella stories happen once in a blue moon. And the moon was perfectly pale ivory on this night. Couples began to fade from the dance floor, but the two remained fixed on one another until they were practically pulled away from each other by excited friends and family members. Mia Godfrey, never got to see the face behind that golden mask and the same was for the man himself.
tab Oh... if only Mia could've seen who it was! And found out if he would even consider being her own lover. . . But it was far too late now, heaven only knows where he was know and what his face and feelings were like. If only Mia had received a fairy godmother to magically solve all her problems.
tab But she was gifted indeed. Not with a fairy godmother, but walking to her horse pulled coach, her driver handed her a single red rose with a wink and a tip of his top hat. She got inside, wondering what could have happened... Small pebble tears slid down her cheeks as she realized that, though she was bewitched by that man, she did not even get his name. This was when something amazing had happened. Her tears slid off of her face and landed just barely on the petal of the rose.
tab The rose began to change color. From deep red to a serene blue. The petals began to fall off, but the flower was not wilting. It seemed as if it was reverting. Going.... back in time to when it was just a single seed. Mia's tears fogged her vision and colors began to run together. She wiped her eyes.
tab She opened them again to find she was dancing with that masked man once again, everything was how it had been only moments ago. Could it be? She was really re-living the moment? If so... She knew what was to happen next. She quickly stopped dancing with the masked man and asked him for his name.
"Oh, yes, I almost forgot! ha, I'm called Elliot Reynolds."
"Please take off your mask, Elliot, I wish to see the face of the man who's stolen my heart."
Here, Mia began excitingly telling Elliot how these new feelings of hers were towards him. To her surprise, he shared her feelings and wished desperately to see the face of the woman who bewitched him.
Their story continues after this of course, but I feel it is you who should decided how this ended... Happily Ever After...? or... Maybe Not...
