• I walked into school the next day with a little more confidence. I met up with Maggie at our lockers and we both headed to class together.

Once we got to Math, we joined Jenna in our seats again, and the bell rang very soon after that. Math was unbearible. I couldn't concentrate on anything the teacher said. I could feel eyes beating into my left side, and I knew that if I wanted too, I could see him in my peripheral vision. But I knew better.

The bell rang, and I looked down at my desk, waiting for some people to clear out. When only half the class was left, I got up. Maggie told me she'd see me at lunch and left. I started to leave, myself, but I tripped on the threshold and ran into someone again. My books went flying, and I fell.

I got onto my knees, whispering, "Sorry," to whoever it was. I looked down the ground to stack up my books, but the were already neatly stacked alphabetically. "Uh..." I looked up the same time he did.

The first thing I noticed were his eyes. They were a pale, icy blue. The blue that was seemingly white from far away. His face was warm and kind, and he smiled. "Sorry. I didn't mean to trip you." He still smiled, but his face was curious, and slightly pained too. I looked up, and saw that his dark brown hair was gold wherever the light hit it. "Your books?" He held them out. I didn't even see him get them. "Thanks," I mumbled, taking them. We both stood up.

He was shockingly tall, and very muscular. "I'm Jared, by the way... Jared Grace." He smiled at me. "Emily... Sanders," I replied. "Great," He said nervously. "So... listen, I'm sorry for freaking you out yesterday. It probably made your day suck. I... was in a bad mood." He frowned a little. "I apologize."

"Well, see you." He stated quietly, turning and walking into a classroom.

    I hadn't even known we'd been walking.
