I'm a bit confused at the moment.

Yes, the gray static background is the current glitch, the two avatars i posted are a bonus example of how could they make the grey wizard work on spaces like my gaia, pms, comments sections, marketplace shop, ... where the item doesn't de-saturate the avatar's colors, the item doesn't even start to work on those spaces.
