The day I let a pack of thugs come and conquer the galaxy is the day that I die.

Must not look down, must not look down, must not look down, must look down...

However frantic and fearful for survival he was at the moment, Aris knew he'd have to keep calm during his climbing. Despite the sudden urge of pain in his shoulder he continued to climb. Then again, the sound of rising elevators coming to squash him like a bug was a powerful motivator. Before he knew it he managed to evade in the incoming elevator, clutching his shoulder as he took in deep breaths. Personally, he would have made a response to Na'al's inquiry from earlier, but as things stood, words were not needed currently.

.....Gotta move forward, Aris thought, sighing. The moment he regained his composure, he moved further towards the group members who managed to get away from death's embrace first. Drawing his pistol via his right hand, the Drell briefly looked around the large room the moment the crew entered. Large, ominous....and as empty as the hallway, much to Aris' displeasure.

"Well, " the Drell snarled, turning his sight to Musashi, "It seems th-WHOA!"

Even before he could finish his questions towards Muasashi, Karii had shot her s.m.g. at the room, exclaiming that there was someone in the room-injured or no, he'd save the questions for later. Turning his sights around the room, the drell thought:

The perfect place for a setup.

Owyn jumped with shock and strained his rifle on the origin of the sound of the gunshots only to find that they had been fired off by a rather frantic Karii. She said there was something in there with them, but Owyn didn't see anything. He thought for a second maybe her helmet was giving her a fooling, but then the possibility of it being a trap made perfect sense in his head and he gave the room a very clear looking around. Not too soon into his search did Owyn spy the same thing Karii had seen: a distortion in a particular spot of the room, almost like a crouching person. Owyn quickly aimed down his sights and took a shot at the thing, but it disappeared. "She's right. We're not alone here." Owyn said, he stepped backwards closely and periodically darted his aim around the room scanning for any more of those visual distortions. Owyn couldn't find one, so going to the enemy was going to be the major problem here. However that problem soon solved itself as Owyn was given mere seconds to react to the straight-bladed sword being swung towards his face.

Owyn leaned back and barely avoided the sword coming towards him, only to find it re-purposed and brought down towards him vertically. Owyn pushed himself back up and used his Valkyrie to deflect the sword, hopping a good few feet away and taking a few well-aimed shots at the attacker before him. His quick view of her saw her as a skinny, crouched individual covered in skin-tight clothing that draped her from head to toe. She wielded a sword and moved with incredible grace, avoiding the bullets expertly and disappearing with her cloak once again. Owyn looked around, no sign of her anymore. He didn't like this, he didn't like this at all. Owyn and the team carefully strafed around the room, awaiting any future attackers.

[Pants!]Veronica nearly jumped out of her skin when Karii fired a shot at... something. She sounded quite scared as well. All eyes were darting frantically across the room hoping to find the thing she had aimed but as far as they could tell, nothing looked out of place. Skipper focussed on the area Karii had previously shot at and it looked like he had found something. There appeared to be a small distortion but it vanished almost immediately. Well, it was confirmed, there was definitely something in the room with the crew and it was invisible as well. Talk about unfair.

[Pants!]The thing went straight for Skipper but luckily he narrowly avoided the attack and the cloaked figured retreated. Veronica was starting out a little bit here, an invisible foe who appeared to have a sword with her. Once again the crew started looking around the room for any distortions but there weren't having much luck with that. This foe was excellent at keeping themselves hidden. Suddenly the distortion ran towards Veronica and she barely had enough to raise the Mattock before it was slapped out her hands. She reached for her Paladin, only for her arm to be swatted away from it. Something powerful struck her in the stomach making her stagger forward. The flash of the sword caught her eye and she just managed to move to the side.

[Pants!]She didn't quite get out of the swords path unfortunately. It wasn't a killing blow but that didn't mean it wasn't gonna hurt like a b***h. The figure had slashed downwards, most likely intended to slice Veronica's head into several meaty chunks but because of her graceful dodge the figure had to adjust it's attack a little. The blade was aimed diagonally now and struck Veronica's shoulder and was then dragged downwards making short work on her armour and slicing into her side and stomach as well. She fell to the floor with a scream but not before pointing out it's next location. "She's over there!" She yelled through gritted teeth. She placed one hand over her bleeding side and drew her Paladin with the other, being hurt and bleeding didn't mean she couldn't be helpful.

xxOrina spun on her heel and pivoted slightly at her hips bringing her pistol up to aim towards the sound of the gunshot that irrupted in the Illusive Man’s office. The justicar’s expression softened beneath her hood at the sight of a slightly more nervous than usual Karii, who looked like she had just seen a ghost. The asari dropped her arm at the elbow to adjust the aim her gun upwards and away from the team’s quarian engineer but her gaze moved away from Karii to try and locate whatever she had been shooting at. Leaving her concerns of Musashi’s involvement behind, Orina busied herself with scanning the large room. There wasn’t much an enemy could hide behind, especially with the whole team actively looking for whatever Karii had seen.

xxHer palms seemed abnormally moist as she gripped her Shuriken tightly out of the corner of her eye Orina thought she saw the faintest shimmer of reflecting light. Readying her finger on the trigger the asari pivoted once more to chase the light refractions but found nothing in front of her. Her brow wrinkles in the middle as she lets out a light huff of annoyance. ”He’s toying with us….” The asari’s cold words distinctly held her disgust at the Illusive Man’s choice of tactics. The human was brilliant; there was no doubt that the team had underestimated the Cerberus leader’s ability….and now the Illusive Man had them right where he wanted.

xxThan a noise hit her ears, like the sound of metal cutting through the air followed by a scuffle behind her. She turned her head just in time to see Skipper block an incoming sword blow with the casing of his firearm. The justicar took a few shots with her Shuriken but the lithe woman avoided her first burst fire and quickly recloaked disappearing back into the dim lighting of the room. Seconds later the justicar heard a female voice call out behind her, the speed of her turn lightly ruffled the hood draped over her fringe as she turned her gun to find Veronica being assaulted by seemingly the same figure who had just taken a shot at Skipper. She’s faster than she looks.” Orina made a mental note before tossing a biotic pull in the direction that Veronica had indicated the Cerberus woman had disappeared to. The pull missed the agile female operative and splattered into a blue paste on one of the walls. The red head had obviously been injured in their confrontation, the doctor could likely apply some medigel but likely the human biotic would be in a bit of pain until they reached the ship once more. Injured people made for good targets, at least for terrorists like the Cerberus group, it wasn't that Orina generally liked Veronica but she would try to draw the foes attention away from the red head while the doctor moved in to help her with the injury.

xxTightening her finger over the trigger Orina sent another spray of bullets her bullet making connection with something solid as it shimmered lightly as the shield reflected her gunfire. The justicar felt a sense of accomplishment at hitting the agile opponent quickly tossed a stasis field in the direction of the foe. The lady easily cart wheeled away from the stasis field, but Orina had been expecting that move and she had closed the distance between them when the woman dodged the justicar’s biotics. Putting as much force behind her blow that she could manage Orina planted her foot against the woman’s stomach in a full biotic kick. The force was enough to stagger their foe that she fell off her feet and onto her back. ”You’re fast, …but I’m faster.” Orina called out before moving in to attempt to bring her boot down and finish the job, though unexpectedly the foe activated small jets attached to her boots. Their foe was quickly up on her feet raising a gloved hand outward towards the justicar before a small burst of energy was fired from her palm. Orina dodged the blast with a quick last minute dive to the side, tucking her body to roll fully so she could get back on her feet quickly. Apparently this foe was more slippery than she originally thought.

[mmdatass]It seemed that anticipation for a trap was unanimous in the party, and as much as Nali would have liked to blame that on paranoia, it probably just meant that it really was a trap, and the Amazon team (to her, at least) was more or less notorious by dealing with traps by first springing them. It had worked so far--they were still there, after all--but it certainly didn't make things easy, so when the asari heard shots being fired, her head and aim quickly snapped over to the direction from whence the sound had come. "S-something is in here!" She didn't doubt it for a second, but...what was "something?" Better yet, and perhaps more importantly, where was it?

[mmdatass]A comment was heard from Skipper, likely abolishing any doubt that might've been lingering in the team still, but Nali's attention continued to hop around the room in search of "something." Karii had noticed it. Skipper had noticed it. What where they seeing? Then, finally, she looked over when she heard metal on metal, and for a split second, the woman saw a figure standing where was. Thin, masked, and...she could have sworn the person was carrying a sword, but the slight confusion was off-set by the frustration in realizing that this person had a cloak. Immediately, the maiden remembered Clara, how much of a b***h it was to take her down, and how much trouble she'd caused before that had happened.

[mmdatass]That was in the past, though. For now, they had a very nimble fighter flipping about the room under a cloak, and the asari, like the rest of the team, continued to search for any clue as to where she was, where she was going to strike next. Finally, she heard it: Veronica's voice. Nali's head whipped over to see the masked figure cloak again, leaving behind her a bleeding redhead. The maiden's eyes widened, and she rushed over to the human's side to check on her. The wound was too much for Nali to handle, so the call for help came naturally, "Doctor!" Concern made way for fury, however, as Nali caught view of the thin person--a human thanks to the lack of fringe--just having dealt with the Justicar. As the older asari rolled out of the way from another attack, the maiden pushed herself up to her feet. With Veronica injured, it would've been easy for this person to sneak back in and finish the job. Nali was determined to keep that from happening as her friend was being taken care of, so once she caught sight of their assailant, the lady threw a Shockwave in that direction. She prayed it was going to hit, but the attack with slow, its target agile.

Everyone else seemed to have their guards up as well. If he’d learned anything from all of these missions, he’d learned that it was never this easy. There was always a catch; and in situations like these, there was always a trap.

Almost as if on cue with his inner-monologue, Karii shouted out that there was someone else in the room with them, and his line of vision snapped over when shots were fired off and he caught sight of movement out of his peripheral vision. He spun around and heard the sound of something metallic scrape across the ground, and he caught sight of something reflective being swung out of the corner of his eye. A sword?

The confusion lasted but a moment as he caught a better sight of their assailant. He’d heard these guys mentioned before. He forgot what they were called though… some human word. Oh yeah! “Ghost!” Jask shouted out, just in time to see Skipper narrowly avoid being hit by it. It moved surprisingly fast, and the speed startled him enough to cause him to stumble backwards slightly in shock as it came rushing up towards Veronica and attacked. Jask hissed and instinctively ducked out of the way of the oncoming attack, as the attacker moved ahead and brought her sword down onto Veronica.

In the flurry of activity, he spun around to see the “ghost” take off towards another target and leave Veronica on the ground. He could see blood seeping through her fingers as she clutched her wound, and felt enraged. He let out a garbled cry of rage and kept his narrowed gaze trained on this person. They flipped around too much, and that only served to anger him further. He heard Nali shout out for the doctor, and he looked over to Veronica once again. If she needed a doctor so urgently that he needed to be called out of battle at that moment, it must have been serious. Seeing as the red-headed human was already pretty close to him, he took a moment to lean down and pat her (a little roughly) on the shoulder, he nodded towards her in silent encouragement before quickly standing up again, and trying with the others to take whoever this was down.

Na’al stood there looking around slowly with a few thoughts running through his head. One of which was expressing his deep appreciation for the simplicity of the room itself. It was perfect in terms of an office situation, nothing more than a chair, com link devise, and a holographic monitor generator not to mention the spectacular view of a sun. In his thinking trance, Na’al made the mistake of lowering his guard and his weapon. He was quickly shaken back into the here and now when a shot went off and Na’al immediately assumed they were under attack again. Before he knew what he was doing himself, the Salarian had his arms extended with both hands on his weapon on the same plane as his eye level, his sunken chest rising and falling with his every deep breath. His instincts were more geared towards fear and as a result his hands were shaking. He quickly stilled them as soon as he realized that Karii fired the shot with the reason that she saw something. Looking around, Na’al thought she was just being paranoid and her nerves had gotten to her.

It was soon enough that Na’al discovered that this was not the case and there was in fact something in the room. A brief flicker in the corner of his left eye drew his attention to what Karii had seen and what everyone else was looking for. Squinting his eyes, Na’al tried to find what that odd distortion was. Soon Captain Skipper was attacked by the mysterious person(?) in the room. The way that the clearly feminine figure moved…it was unbelievably agile. “Is that even human!?” Na’al asked loudly when she disappeared again. He only asked it it was human because he knew of how Cerberus was strictly a pro-human, anti-xeno organization. Still, he had no idea what kinds of lengths this organization would go through to accomplish whatever they wanted to accomplish. Cloaking devices weren’t anything new, but something about this new attacker just was different, new. Then it hit him. Na’al figured he should approach this enemy like he was fighting a more agile member of the STG. “Expect the unexpected.” Easier said than done. At the first sign of movement, he just squeezed down the locust's trigger quickly for short bursts so that he could maintain accuracy and balance. There was no blood splatters, so Na'al only assumed that he missed.

The phrase "Do not touch" means nothing to me.

"Damn it," the drell mumbled, briefly turning his head to see an injured Veronica. Fortunately, Jask was quick in helping her get back to her toes. Whoever this operative was, she overstayed her welcome, to say the very least, considering her recent potshots towards Veronica and the Justicar.

To add insult to injury, this damned Cerbie managed to avoid all shots (and powers) as if she were some damned phantom. Regardless, he'd have to keep his calm and hope there' be an opportunity to return such hospitality with a bullet. As far as Aris figured, if that quick human wanted a fight, then a fight was a-'comin. Coupled with N'all's words, then they'd just have to surprise her as quickly as she surprised them.

Un-WHOA! thought the drell. Well, from her slash to Aris' very least she didn't dissapoint, even if having a blade swung around served to be...lethally unpleasant. Fortunately, the drell managed to pivot back, shooting his pistol right back at the zealot-granted, he could feel the blade slice the armor on his chest, but him being alive counted, even if she managed to dodge his bullets, cloaking herself as she did so.

".....Anyone got any idea to get rid of that awful cloak?"

She counted her heartbeat to the thrum of blood in her ears. It had been a good while since she'd gotten a good workout, and there was nothing quite like the fear of god struck into a person to let them know that they needed to lay off the sweets. Max shook her hands out after being helped onto solid ground, taking care to do a sweep and make sure there had been no more injuries on the climb up.

Taking a deep breath, Maxine managed to stop the furious pounding in her head. The adrenaline had run it's course for the moment, but the anxious pit in the bottom of her stomach remained. There was just something about Cerberus in it's entirety that made Maxine uncomfortable. They were a shifty group, and worse still, they were rather clever. Max took the Avenger from her back and was keenly aware of all around her. The hair on the back of her neck stood on end for good reason, she was sure.

And damn if those spidey senses weren't right. Maxine barely caught the movement out of the corner of her eye, but just as she did, she watched Veronica's side be slashed open. The doctor barely registered Nali's cry for her, only pausing to make sure she was safe before making her way over to the other redhead. There was no sense in putting herself in the path of danger. She nodded at Jask as she passed. "C'mere," Maxine held a hand out for Veronica. She turned her head as if to search for somewhere safe, but stopped midway. "someone'll have to cover us." She made a point to be loud about stating so. Maxine pulled Veronica as out of the way as they could get and set to work on fixing her side up.

As Owyn tried to strain his sights on the moving, cloaked figure he saw - in the corner of his eye - another flux of movement. Owyn took a shot at it, three to be precise and the moved again. Owyn looked around and saw numerous similar movements before realising and yelling out the real problem. "There's more than one!" apparently Skipper's realisation triggered these enemies plan B and they all simultaneously leaped for one of the Amazon crew. Skipper found that he was grabbed from behind by one of the creatures. Skipper's instinct was to kick behind him and thankfully he managed to shake the creature off before she did any damage. The woman was quick, and quickly regained her composure as she leapt at Skipper again. The Spectre drew his arm back and thrust it forwards, his closed fist colliding with the woman's face and flooring her. Skipper chuckled under his mask, it'd felt like ages since he'd punched anything and and with his right arm, too; maybe the prosthetic hand wasn't going to be so bad.

The enemy quickly reeled back from Owyn's well-landed punch and cloaked again. Skipper looked around for his foe, nowhere to be found. A few moments that felt like minutes went by but soon enough Skipper saw that familiar difference in texture and pulled the trigger on his Valkyrie as many times as he could before reloading. The entire clip wasted the woman's barriers and uncloaked her before she could do anything to stop it, before plugging two bullets straight through her head. Blood splattered over the glass behind her and Skipper turned to the rest of the fray, preparing to go and help out.

Meanwhile by Maxine, who was tending to the wounded Veronica, one of the mysterious foes had leapt through the air at such a speed that her cloak had dissipated. She drew her sword back as she soared forwards only to find herself distracted by a gruff yelling of "Freedom-!" and a powerful uppercut to the face sending her flying across the room "Smash!"

[mmdatass]After what seemed like forever, the doctor came to her friend's aid, and Nali was still busy scanning the field for their foe. She hated going up against cloaked enemies. They were so cheap, and there wasn't a damned thing she could do about it until...there! A warped sound was heard when the asari pulled the trigger on her shotgun, and a thermal shell seemed to stop midair as it hit a nearly-invisible enemy. The human's cloak flickered for a second as her Barrier was damaged, and the biotic felt a moment of celebration before she picked up something in her peripheral: Skipper was getting attacked as well. That was when what the human said hit her. There were more than one.

[mmdatass]s**t, the lady thought, looking again for the blurred silhouette of the one she'd hit before, Hurry up, Doctor! Nali would give them all the cover they would need for as long as she could, of course, but she wasn't sure how long that was going to be. Get her back on her feet! Then again, it hadn't occurred to her that Veronica may have been down for the count until they could get back to the ship, but that was probably for the better. She was concerned enough as it was, and the woman didn't need any further distractions, especially when simply finding the enemy was difficult enough.

[mmdatass]Her eyes caught movement again! Heading toward Veronica and the doctor, so Nali quickly turned to deal with the human, her finger on the trigger; however, as soon as she did, an impact was felt on one of her plates, and she stumbled forward, pulling the trigger again and painting the floor with the last shot in her clip. With a look up, she was at least relieved to see that Tom Freedom was in the process of taking care of the one heading for her fallen friend, but the maiden growled as she corrected herself, refreshing the thermal clip and turning just in time to see the human who'd attacked her cloak mid-flip. Fury pulled the trigger once more, and luck on Nali's part struck a blow to the phantom.

[mmdatass]A flicker of the woman's cloak banished any doubt the biotic had once had on her location, and with accuracy that surprised even her, the asari continued to fire until her clip was spent once again. She ejected it with a clap and inwardly smirked when she saw the woman's Barrier fall. It was about time they had a bit of luck. Nali hurled a Throw at the phantom, and the attack swept the human back and off her feet. Before she could hit the wall, though, the maiden watched on in disappointment when her enemy activated her boots and gloves to stop her flight and place her feet on the ground once again.

[mmdatass]"No," Nali said simply, her brows furrowed. As the phantom regained her balance, the adept rushed forward at the cloaking human. Quickly, the lady fired off another round from her shotgun, forcing her to stagger back, and another attack was thrown: the slim figure was lifted into the air again, but when she tried to regain control of the situation, she was slammed into the ground with an incredible force. Not wanting to risk her getting up again, the asari continued forward, and within a second, her boot was placed firmly on the phantom's back, and another shotgun round was delivered to the back of her head, reducing it to a pulpy mass on the floor.

Thank god everybody got out of the elevator. Ivan said nothing else as they walked through the hallway. He had been mentally preparing for someone to die, and it was a relief. It was odd hearing quiet from Ivan-- a man who very often prided himself on his ability to spark conversation. Nope. Not this time. As soon as they got to the deserted office, the Russian was suspicious and alert. A scowl worked its way onto his features underneath his helmet. The grip on his gun tightened. Trap after trap, it was a terrible feeling to constantly be one step behind the enemy.

Karii announced that something was there, followed by agreements and a pained cry. Ivan's eyes snapped to the side where he saw Veronica on the ground, blood gushing out of her side. Growling, he shuffled his way closer, aiming his Tempest into the darkness. The Vindicator would've been much better if he had more visibility.. The submachine gun's rapid rate of fire also comforted him a little. The justicar had better luck than Ivan did. He was stuck waving his gun around, paranoid at every speck of darkness, as Orina gracefully went toe-to-toe with their assailant. Ivan fired a few pot shots at where it disappeared from, but they didn't help. Visibility or otherwise.

Ivan simply decided to go give the doctor and Veronica cover. He stood in front of them and didn't feel very imposing at all. Staring into the darkness actually made Ivan shiver a little in his boots, especially when Captain Skipper mentioned that there was more than one. Ivan turned just in time to catch him dispatch one of them with a flurry of bullets from his massive assault rifle.

          Good. One down.

Ivan had been looking in the opposite direction when Freedom yelled. He also managed to catch the bearded man uppercutting the female assault and tossing her around the room like a sack of rice. Nali proceeded to finish off that Cerberus agent in a way that made him feel extremely impressed-- so that's what it took to get her position on the Amazon. He let himself smile a little until a flash of material behind his XO told him that another assailant was right behind her.

"AAAH." Ivan only had enough presence of mine to shout as he pointed his omni-tool and mashed the Overload tool in Nali's general direction. It hit the phantom's barriers exactly where he wanted it to, and Ivan un-cloaked the slim woman for a second. That was enough time for Ivan to sprint over to Nali and hook his arm around the woman's neck from behind with his non-gun hand. He dragged the woman away from his XO. His bicep and shoulder strained as he squeezed as hard as he could, making sure that she wouldn't be able to get out of his grip.

And before the phantom had time to really understand what was going on, Ivan slammed the barrel of his Tempest into the top of the woman's helmet and held down the trigger. The recoil from the gun sent his entire arm shaking, but he steadily pressed the gun into her head as he emptied his clip. The body went entirely limp. Ivan loosened his grip around the pulpy mass that used to be her head and exhaled deeply, shaking his head. Now, all three of them were dead. Finally.

The Russian reloaded and held up his gun at Musashi. The distance was still considerable, but the threat was still there. "So, maybe start talking, da?"

xxAs Orina rolled safely out of the reach of the phantom’s counter strike her palm simultaneously began to glow with dark energy. Once on her feet the justicar unleashed a biotic shockwave towards her attacker hoping to tip their enemy off balance. Unfortunately the figure was easily able to avoid those cascading waves as well as a few shots fired from the bearded biotic, before it disappeared into the shadows once more. ”Dammit!” The asari cursed her opponent’s agility as her eyes strained to catch any sight of movement in the dimly lit room.

xxSeconds seemed like minutes as the asari kept herself moving slowly backwards towards the Russian, she would feel much more confident of herself if her backside wasn’t so open to attack from this silent foe. After what seemed like forever the silence was broken by a shout from the captain, there was more than one of these foes surrounding them. Immediately Orina felt her stomach drop at his words as the uneasiness settled back in. As soon as the captain revealed them the attackers seemed to become more aggressive and attacked all at once. One of these phantom like soldiers attacked the captain from behind, the justicar took a single step forward to go to the aid of their captain. Yet Orina was surprised when Skipper recovered from the surprise attack with ease and quickly incapacitated the foe with a full clip from his Valkyrie.

xxThe crew picked off the enemies one by one, but there was no telling how many of those cloaked figures were in the room with them. The doctor had started to get to work on the injured Veronica’s wounds, so Orina moved herself into a defensive position to cover the doctor while she worked.

[Pants!]Veronica winced as Jask rather roughly patted her on the wrong shoulder. But he meant well at least. She was also trying to make herself as useful as she could despite her injury, her eyes were rapidly darting across the room trying to keep track of the Phantom that was causing the crew so much bother. She wasn't having much luck though, the pain was making it hard to focus on anything right now. Her eyes were brought away from the battle and on to Maxine who had answered Nali's call.

[Pants!]She leaned forward with her free hand and grabbed on to Maxine's tightly. When she tried to pull herself up however, a sharp stabbing pain crawled up her body and caused her to collapse"Ow, ow, s**t!" It was not the most pleasant experience of her life so far. Thankfully, she didn't actually fall to the floor as Maxine's grip was surprisingly strong. Her second attempt went much more smoothly and she was led away from the main brunt of the combat. She slumped against a wall panting heavily, now she knew how Skipper's victims felt every time they got a kiss from Lucy. Not only that there was also more than one Phantom skulking around. The first one put down by Skipper with two very satisfying sounding head shots. Another was heading towards Veronica and in her current state getting cut up again wouldn't end well.

[Pants!]The Phantom didn't quite make it to her target though as Tom Freedom was on the case! He delivered a bone cracking punch to the poor Phantom and she was sent flying across the room. Nali made sure she wasn't gonna get back up via turning her head in a puddle of blood and destroyed skull. That was two out of three down. Veronica glanced back to Maxine, her face screwed up with pain. "Okay, how bad is it?" she said through gritted teeth. She had her free hand on Paladin just in case the third phantom decided to come poking around. But it looked like her meager assistance would not be needed as Ivan finished off the last Phantom in a rather gruesome fashion. Once Veronica saw that the last Phantom had gone limp she sighed with relief and focused her attentions on her wound and Maxine. The quicker she could healed the better.

Na’al went over multiple tactics in his head on how to deal with the cloaked opponent whilst he continued to lightly squeeze the trigger of his Locust at any sign of distortion. It was difficult to get an aim on her and even more so to get an actual hit. The speed of her attacks seemed unreal for a human to pull of even with that light suit. Then Skipper shouted there was more than one and it all clicked together in Na’al’s head. “Of course!” They weren’t especially fast, just numerous. He saw one come into view very momentarily when Ivan used an overload on one, killed her and the fighting was over. Apparently that was it. There was no more need for anymore thinking or planning, which was good, yet personally disappointing for the salarian since he was actually hoping to do something usefull aside from locking a door. Aside from the risk of death nearly every five minutes, he felt like he was being over paid for doing nothing. However, the tension had not broken yet due to Ivan now holding a gun at the ex-Cerberus member demanding his to talk. Considering what happened to that one phantom the last time Ivan aimed a gun, it would be a good idea to talk.

The phrase "Do not touch" means nothing to me.
