Welcome to Gaia! ::

That one was a little tricky. ^^ But fun.

Lonely Lover

Wow.
This is super creative.
Unfortunately,
I don't think many of these words
Would fit into my story...
Plus,
This is my first NaNo,
So I'd rather just play it straight for now.

But good luck to those of you who do this!

Today's Word: Patina
Sentence: The temple kept all of the relics of the old ways, growing the only flowers known in the city within their garden. A bronze fountain rested in the middle, long since colored green by the patina and managing to look ancient and beautiful all at once. Its color complimented the colors around it so no one dared attempt to polish the metal underneath.

This is my first time as well. For me, it's kinda making my story work better, and have a broader vocabulary.

Today's Word: Onomatopoeia

Dapper Fatcat

Today's Word: Patina
Sentence: But just this once, he would allow himself to lay his head down and weep. Let this carefully built patina fade around him and just cry.
All up to date! Congrats guys, this is working out really well so far! mrgreen

FireKattana
Unfortunately, I don't think many of these words would fit into my story...

The beauty of this is that most words can be shifted into multiple parts of speech... and if something can be used as a modifier, it's much easier to sneak it in! It wouldn't hurt to sign up and just give it a swing, you never know... the right word might just end up inspiring something completely new!

Shadowy Senshi

Today's Word: patina
Sentence: “It’s a type of patina that forms over time once we give it a special treatment. The older the sword the stronger it is against dark magic.”

This worked well because I didn't know how to explain the swords magicalness, now it's half explained rolleyes However I'm not at the part of the novel where this line comes in so I jumped foreword a bit and wrote a short future paragraph to use it.
Awesome! I'm glad that word worked out so well for you, Morse. :]

Today's Word: onomatopoeia
Sentence: The entire store turned into a living amalgam of onomatopoeias; employees buzzed around, old men hummed while flipping through stacks of CDs lightly covered with dust, and children yelped and yelled and cried and barfed and screamed and touched everything. Ugh. Children.
Welcome to day 4!

Today's word is another easy one:

Discriminate.

With another challenge dropped untidily on to your plate,
I leave you for the night.
Happy writing!

Muffers's Husband

Mind-boggling Blob

Fine, I'm in! I have some catching up to do, but it shouldn't be too hard.
