Days passed. No faun.

It seemed she and her comrades were careful around the potion. Well, he commended them for their brains. Many would just waste the contents of the vials, only concerned with the power they were demanded. Still, it was of no consequence, he had other customers.

But the war was not going well. The way it was turning out, it would soon be over and the beings of metal would soon claim victory. It saddened the masked man, as that would mean he would no longer be able to take advantage of those who had...desperate needs. He had managed to feed only a couple of times as well and was growing rather...hungry. Ah, where was a harem when you needed it? Of course, he could never have anything like that, it was not in his power, but it was a nice dream.

"Oh? You again Miss Faun. Nice to see you again."

He had appeared out of nowhere it seemed, with the darkness pressing around him, the cart creaking silently behind him. He frowned as he noted her state, before approaching and carefully kneeling next to her.

"Hmn...are you alright? You look horrible. Would you like to take up shelter with me?"

He offered silkily, holding out a hand to her.

The masked man smiled gently at you before giving a flourishing bow.

"Hmn...You're most welcome, my dear. 8D"

The sword had never left her hand, saber suddenly pointing at the sound of a voice and pain-hazed eyes focusing him down hard. The other hand had moved up from where she braced herself in the water with the palm tilted slightly towards him. He'd been about to be slammed.
What was he doing here? Probably looking for the results of the experiment, with no care as to whom lived or died...well, it'd probably gotten her through that hell. Gamble worth it.
The sword was lowered, only slightly though, as he approached and knelt at the edge of the stream, water too shallow to even come up over her stomach where she knelt. It was too warm and cold and too -everything- at the same time. No telling if it was sideeffects of the battle or the concoction, or a spell she'd not noticed in the frenzy of casting.

Trust him? Nope, not a bit. Need him at the moment...yes. At least he wasn't fae, this would be a different situation if he was. The hand was taken...he'd find her wobbly as he helped pull her up, sword still firmly grasped in her hand, like it had fused there in the combat, or her hand no longer could unfurl it's fingers. It was the spellcasting hand he'd pulled her up with, lungs giving a silent shudder and her body shivering as she repressed coughs. The bullets. Since they didn't burn, they weren't pure iron...but the damage couldn't even begin to heal with how depleted she was without removing them first.
"How far?" Till shelter was implied, her voice a little ragged.

He had flinched at the sword pointed at him. Few things scared him. He was very...tough to kill as well.

He did not move away until she took his hand. With a firm strength, he pulled her to her feet. He was quick not to linger touching her longer than necessary, taking note of her injuries. Hmn...this would not bide well.

"Not far. Here, rest."

He guided her to his cart, pushing some of his shelves easily to one side and allowing a space for her to sit. Without another word he started pulling the cart along.

Up the muddy road and through the forest and then a small cave...

There was a bright fire burning inside already, apparently he had begun to set up camp but sensed her presence close. He began to prepare something close to the fire.

"Get in the light. We'll have to remove those bullets before trying to heal you."

Of course he had a general disregard for others, he only cared for himself after all. But anything he considered a fair meal or food...he would hate for it to waste away. Besides, he was an admirer of beautiful things; and this faun would seem a shame to cease to be. He didn't survive by his meals dying off, which was why he didn't kill them.

The faun was easily guided, which he could correctly assume was not the typical set-up at all. On the ride to the cave, the faun passed into that half-conscious state warriors easily fell into. Sleeping, and yet not sleeping. Enough to survive, not enough to feel rested or think clearly. Exhaustion set in hard.
When they got there, she didn't really have any idea where they were, but only the sound of crackling fire, and the soft roar of rain, could be caught by even sharp ears. The battle was not in this area. Away from the battle was the best possible place, right now. Despite the company.

Those were easy instructions to follow, her weight nearly dropping to the ground next to the fire, booted legs off in different directions and she hunched forward slightly, too away from the cave wall to lean back, hands in front of her to support her. Right, that part. Layers of cloth were stripped or finished being torn off, leaving her in a partial state of undress. Being a faun meant not caring, as most ladies would not like having so much skin showing around a stranger.
Only one of five bullets made a clean escape, two around shoulders and chest, and three more around her lower torso. Wounds that would kill a human, particularly if they tried to run on them. The faun was sturdy, gingerly feeling the outside of the holes...and one right then and there, she dug a pinky into and pulled out one of the metal fragments, hissing pain. That one had hit a bone, and not gone deeper. She'd use sharpened sticks if she had to. While magic would be an awesome solution to this, she really, really didn't have the energy to pull a good spell together.

He had started to prepare a healing potion as well as some salve that would disinfect her wounds. He had just finished and was turning to her to hiss a complaint about her trying to get the bullets out when he finally looked at her. And he really looked at her. Some of her clothing was fraying and had exposed large patches of flesh. Something stirred inside him, feeling his..."little friends" grow restless. No. He could resist. He could not risk exposing himself despite the...tempting situation. No...he best concentrate on his task.

"Tch, stop that. Please. Allow me."

He moved to her side, his robes brushing her body. He carefully began removing the bullets, trying not to cause the faun pain. He wasn't a miracle worker though...

Eventually he had removed the bits of metal, he turned and began working in the salve.

"This will sting. My apologies, but do try to keep still."

Once he finished that, he held out the vial of healing potion.

"Drink this. It's a healing elixir. It should patch you up right away but after you finish you should get some sleep. It will help the healing."

After that, he made himself busy, least he...get any more temptations about food...or flesh.

Alchemic tongs and pincers got the job done, but the faun had her wrist between her teeth a better part of the time. This was delicate, unpleasant work, and she tried very, very hard not to move. Moving could tear something open that hadn't already been ruptured, and she needed to keep what blood she had. Were her body not so badly damaged, cuts, burns, scrapes, though mostly those bullet holes...she'd likely have noticed his sudden hunger. Another thing fauns were used to, and attuned to.
The salve didn't bother her at all, compared to what she'd just endured the last few hours...weeks even, if you counted everything that happened in recent times. It was like he wasn't even touching her, for that part.
For once, she couldn't muster up the energy to be suspicious, now leaning back against the cave wall and downing the vial. A wool blanket that was used to typically cover some of his shelves and keep them from water was pulled towards her from where it had been folded by other of his supplies, and true to what he had recommended, she was fully and blissfully asleep within a couple of minutes. Breathing better, visible damage better, even to an extent that aura she had about her, though the latter one wasn't anywhere near full strength, if he'd seen that yet.

Upon waking, she was still sitting upright, dazed. Salesmen, cave, lost the battle, fixed up...the faun felt sluggish, trying to understand her surroundings. Night now. Her chainmail and plate in a few places was uncomfortable, she shifting her legs and horns making a faint knocking on the cave wall as she turned her head too quickly. She was going to owe this man a favor, which fae never relished. Thirsty...

He let her rest, watching as she pulled a tarp he used to shield his supplies over herself. He didn't have anything else in the form of a blanket, so he was more than glad that she used it. His things were out of the rain now anyway, the cart pulled out of the water into the cave. After he was finished his small task, he had nothing left to do. He risked a glance at the faun. Deep asleep...

He felt the same hunger stir inside him. Dammit. He needed to some fresh air. Pulling his cloak about him, he strode off into the the darkness.

Finally alone and free, he allowed himself some air. From beneath his cloak, green tendrils slithered out. They jolted restlessly in the rain, reflecting his anxiety. Yes...he was hungry. He lifted a hand, noticing how worn they looked. He probably looked terrible. It was from the lack of recent food. Ugh. If only the city was teeming with his normal victims and not those dead robotic vermin. He felt some of the tentacles rustle and caress his skin. Hmn...Eternal life had a price after all. If he didn't eat, he would die. So was the price he paid.

He'd eat soon. He stroked a tendril before slowly withdrawing them back into himself as he headed back for the cave. He would have to eat or die.

"Finally awake? I hope you're feeling better."

His shadow was near the fire, watching her like a wolf watches sheep. But with no intent to strike. He blinked and looked a bit more curious from beneath his mask.

"Ahhh. Out of energy again. Well...this may be the last round of fighting for me tonight. Pity, I wanted to get to level 3. :c"

"Well....goodnight everyone. This alchemist needs his rest. <3"
