Nikki felt bad. Not only did she had a nightmare but woke screaming like a mad woman. Her head plundered from the crap beer they drank last night. Staring up at the top of the tent, she pulled the pillow over her head and screamed into it making sure her voice was muffled. Just a dream Nikki, she told herself moving out from under the sleeping bag and moved to the opening flap.

Grumbling non complete sentences as she zipped the bag back up and dug through her bag. Cloths, cloths, cloths, she found a decent grey T-shirt that covered the marks and pair of blue jeans. Hitting her head on the top of the tent she swear loudly before finally exiting the tent. The cigarette smoke was temping, specially after the nightmare she had and the last before.

Taking some of the food Andy ate as quick as he could though he still moved much like a snail. Once Nikki was out of the tent Andy went in and pulled a pair of jeans on and started to roll up his sleeping bag and packing his things, thankfully he hadn't gotten much out that night. Rebecca and Mike helped bring down the tent and put out the fire once everyone had gotten their fill.

He pulled his backpack over his shoulders along with the extra tent and followed Mike and Rebecca once they started walking, for now there was a small trail to follow but pretty soon they would be heading into thicker areas of the woods as they climbed higher and further along the mountain range. It would soon become more difficult to follow the trail. "So how'd you two sleep" Rebecca asked. "Not a wink, this one's got ********' legs like a rabbit" Andy said pointing to Nikki as he finally lit his cigarette, as he did so he imitated her kicking with his foot. Wasn't completely true, he'd only actually woken up from her moving around maybe twice during the night, but he had heard her mumbling in her sleep and she was a bit twitchy. Other than that he slept like a log, he just wanted to tease. "And your breathing, sure don't miss that" He said as he leaned his head back and made a snoring noise.

The food was good though Nikki only picked at it. As the tent and items were packed up, Nikki's stayed quite till they started on the trail. She was in her own little world of forgetting the past and only coming out of it when it was time to look at the map. Andy making fun of her sleeping did t help. Did she really jerk around that much? She thought looking at the group from where she trailed from behind holding the straps of her pack.

The sleeping bah last night felt like it was smuthering her, she remembered that much. "I slept alright." The mutter didn't break much best a whisper as she rubbed her face still feeling the lack of sleep coursing through her. Everything was making her twitch and jump. Leave it to her friends to bring u old memories. "You guys didn't drink all me beer. This cooler seems lighter."

"I don't know what you're talking about Mike, think you're imagining things" Andy replied as they walked.
"It feels lighter"
"Oh, you accusing me of something now Mike?"
"Shouldn't have brought an alcoholic on this trip, drank all my beer you jerk" Mike joked
"Ha I don't know what you're talkin' about Mike I think you're imagining things"Andy said walking closer to his friend he grabbed the cooler handle "It feels exactly the same! Who's the alcoholic Mike? How many beers did you drink last night, clearly you don't remember how many you even brought with you" Andy said.
"What ever" Mike said with a laugh pushing Andy away.

Rebecca moved back toward Nikki as the boys walked ahead messing around linking their arms once she was close. "You didn't eat much this morning? You okay?" She asked keeping her voice low so the boys wouldn't hear. "Sorry about last night by the way, wont happen again promise!"

"Hey we might need that map in a bit, I'm having a hard time finding the trail" Mike called back after a bit more walking.
"Oh ******** the map, lets get adventurous guys we're here to experience nature right so lets explore"
"Are you drunk still"
"No"
"We're not going off the trial Andy, are you an idiot?"
"As long as we stay by a river we'd be able to make it back to civilization at some point, the only thing we'd have to worry about is running into a bear. Come on, Rebecca don't be a wuss, Nikki you wanna get crazy right?"
"We're not going off the trail" Rebecca said rolling her eyes as she looked back at Nikki "Smoke your cig and shut up Andy. Where we at Nikki?" She asked as they came to a stop. They were getting further up the mountain the more they walked it was getting harder to see markers or parts of the trial. Andy stopped up ahead looking back at the group as he smoked watching them as they examined the map.

Nikki watched as the two bickered it reminded her of high school all over again making her smile. "I'm fine Becca. Just too much to drink last night." She had lied. "Its fine, I've all but forgotten about it all." Lied again, she sighed knowing she needed to stop doing that.

The day grew long as the map was redrawn and they decided on where they were at and how longer they had. "Hey there's a lake coming up if you guys want to stop and relax for a bit. Unless busy up there doesn't want to." She stuck her tongue out at Andy. "I'm up for that." "Same."

Andy simply nodded when everybody said they were game for the lake. Seeing Nikki stick her tongue out at him he scoffed as he inhaled a puff of smoke.

Walking several more miles they soon came to the lake Nikki spoke of on the map. The water was for the most part still apart from a few ripples here and there from the wind. Andy let his pack drop from his shoulders once they reached the banks of the lake. He groaned feeling the soreness on his shoulders. They hadn't walked extremely far yet but he wasn't used to hiking anymore, as long as he didn't complain there wouldn't be a problem with Mike and Rebecca he knew they didn't like it.

Sitting down on a rock Andy took a few sips of water from a bottle in the cooler, after which he started to remove his shoes and socks "Any one up for a swim?" he asked already rolling up his pants above his knees. Even if they were in a hurry he was at least going to dunk his head and legs.

Rebecca and Mike didn't take long to dispose of their acks, socks, and shoes. They didn't bother to keep dry that mucj , both having shorts on. Nikki herself let her pack drop as did she to her rear. Between yesterday's hike and that little bit today, she felt still and sore. Her hand rubbed at the soft muscle of her shoulders. Jesus she was sore.

Resting back on her elbows, the young woman closed her eyes tilting her head back at listened to the splash of the couple mixing with the nature. It was being to feel relaxing finally. Rolling her head, sent winced at the sudden pop and opened her blue eyes. They caught sight of a cave, barely visible by the dangling vain hanging down and moss covering the entrance. The map had nothing on it of a cave. She slowly rolled to her stomach and pushed up to her feet, curiosity getting the better of her.

After setting his cigarette on the rock he followed Mike and Rebecca heading into the water. While the couple splashed around giggling with each other Andy simply walked until he was knee deep relaxing as the cold of the water moved through his system. He suddenly felt a splash at his back and he quickly turned and returned the favor to Rebecca who shielded her eyes as both Mike and Andy sent sprays of water at her.

Andy made a crow noise and darted toward Rebecca trying to grab her. "Nooo...no!" Rebecca screamed laughing as she escaped his grip splashing him in the face. Mike in turn tackled Andy into the water when he had dropped his guard. "Ah a*****e"Andy said with a laugh when he emerged from under the water. Wiping the water out of his eyes he spotted Nikki wondering over to a cave near the lake "Yo Nikki!" He called "Don't get attacked by a bear now!"
"Wheres she going?" Rebecca asked.
"That cave I think" Andy responded as he started to get to his feet. "Wanna check it out, see where it goes?"
"I guess we might as well" Mike replied already heading to the shore. Rebecca followed with Andy trailing behind soaking wet.

"Hey grabbed a flashlight." Nikki yelled behind her. She wasn't going to turn around to grabbed one since she was already at the cave entrance. The vines had red thorns in them and she carefully moved then out of the vine. Glancing back Mike had to his back to retrieve a flashlight while Rebbeca was in front of Andy. She was always the one that curious streak. It got her in trouble a lot in highschool.

Not waiting the the rest her disappeared behind the curtain of green. Light barely shined through just little strips waving about catching rocks and a flew rats scurrying about. "Ew gross rats." She pressed on hitting an unseen rock and reaching out to grabbed the rocked wall to stop herself from falling. Piercing pain as something sliced into her palm enough to have a cut present as Mike finally came into the cave with the light

"Jesus Nikki slow down will you. Nikki..." Mike stated shinning the light at her looking down at her hand strangely when light hit it. The cut would look normal if it was for the patch of fur and black ooz present. She looked at Mike. "Shine the light on the walls." She bit her bottom lips hoping what she grabbed wasn't alive at one point and rotting.

The group followed Nikki into the cave one by one. Rebecca let out a small yelp jump to Mike's side when she spotted a few rats scurry by. "Careful now" Mike said looking at her. "You alright Nikki?" He asked seeing her hand he shined his light at Nikki before directing it as he was told to the walls of the cave. The light instantly shined on the remains of some sort of animal that had been placed along the rock that jutted out of the side. As the light moved more rotting remains were revealed along with strange hanging symbols and tapestries. Fro the look of it someone had recently skinned or eaten some sort of deer perhaps. There was still a fresh amount of blood and fur lying about. Mike stood frozen apart from being able to move his light further along the wall revealing paintings and strange markings in red. "What is this?" He mumbled
"Looks like some sick cult passed through" Andy replied thinking of how a lot of times abandoned houses got broken into for meetings of gangs and cults that never cleaned up afterward. They were out in the wild with no one around, it was perfect for them out here. He was feeling a bit sick to his stomach the sight of the animal guts that still remained, not to mention the smell, he hadn't noticed it before but now the cave seemed to be filled with it. Andy stuck a cig or two up his nose hiding the smell of rotting flesh as he looked down at his feet. He stepped back a bit seeing they were also walking on bones, the cave was littered with animal carcases.
"T-Thats not blood is it?" Rebecca asked, her curiosity getting the better of her as she moved towards the wall to get a closer look. "Rebecca dont touch it!" Mike said ushering her back. "I dont like this guys we should go"

Pressing the uncut hand to her mouth, Nikki gagged sudden noticing what the smell was. Her blood now mingled with what once the ribs of some animal. Who could do suck a thing. Her mind went back to Sam and what all he had down. "I don't feel to good." Sent muttered looking farther back into the cave. It went on for what seemed like miles. "Yes Becca I think everything is written in blood."

She looked down at her slice hand, blood starting to drip down her palm and fingers. Her hand was in a animal's carcus, in its ribs, lungs. Even farther then her hand was the floor with the bones, they didn't look like just animal bone but she couldn't be to sure. Backing up slowly she felt dizzy, light headed and the scent didn't help. "I think she's going to pass..." Becca's word never finished to Nikki's ears. The red head wobbled slightly and blacked out.

Seeing her black out Andy had rushed over to Nikki's limp form before Mike could make a move to. All three of them tried to talk to her and shaker her lightly trying to get her to come to. "Lets get out of this cave" Mike said feeling more and more uncomfortable. Andy picked Nikki up and followed the others out of the cave careful of where he stepped as he walked over the rocks on the cave floor. He didn't have any problem carrying her, she weighed nothing compared to him but he didn't want to slip while holding her.

Once out of the cave he set her down gently in a seated position leaning against a rock. Rebecca went to their cooler to grab a bottle of water and their first aid kit to wash off and clean her cut on her hand and hydrate her.

Sam lashed his foot out and curved a leg around Nikki's making the girl fall to the bathroom floor with a screaming for help though no one could hear. The man weight more then her, even now that she was an unhealthy weight, able to straddled her waist and arm on the back of her neck holding her down. Nikki smelt the alcohol from his breath and heat from the tool he had plugged into the wall. Dark hair brushed bleached blonded, what he had down to her as well, away from her ear....

Mike gently wrapped Nikki's hand while Becca tried getting the unconsous girl to drink something to wake her. Coughing up the water Nikki, doubled over hacking and looking about. Her body felt weak as she shook from the memory and then more from scene from the cave. "I'm sorry." Her voice was rawas she craddled her head in shaken hands. between not eating much, the smell, and the sudden memory coming back to her, the brain couldn't filter through it all.

"Nothing to be sorry about dont apologize" Andy said from where he sat making sure she was steady while the others patched her up and gave her water. He still had the cigs in his nose, it did a good job of keeping the smell away. He was paranoid now that he was going to smell nothing but dead animals even out on the lake. He was surprised he held back throwing up at the sight of all the carcasses, the smell alone made him want to gag. Andy kept a strong hand on her shoulder watching closely if she suddenly got dizzy again. He hadn't expected her to faint though, he was just glad she didn't hit her head or anything. He'd never seen her that spooked before. Sure he'd seen her scared of things before or at least really grossed out but never to the point of fainting.

Rebecca rubbed her back as she coughed a bit on the water. "You were just a little freaked out thats all" She said reassuringly "We all were, sure spooked me for sure, who ever made that mess is ******** up in the head. Plus you're just a little dehydrated, not used to this kind of stuff like Mike and I are" She said as she handed Nikki a granola bar to eat. Rebecca and Mike were used to hiking and backpacking a cross long distances, they had bodies built for it. She looked at the other two before glancing at the lake. They had to get away from this cave that was certain, they could either go back or continue on forward. Rebecca turned her attention back to Nikki"Do you think you can walk? If not Mike or Andy could carry you for a bit. We still have a long walk to the next stop." She asked as she rubbed her friends arm worried.

Making at face, Nikki shook her head at the bar. "I don't think I can eat anything." She took the water though she sipped at it. Looking at Becca slowly forming a smile and waved her to the side. "I can walk...I think." Using her friend's shoulder, she stood up slightly. "Well if you get light headed again just make Andy give you a piggy back ride." Rebecca stated standing up with help from Mike.

Nikki wobbled a bit and nodded."Let's just get away from here please. I can still smell the cave." Her mind filtered back to away thing she seen in the cave and what sh lived through. Wuzzy, she stumbled grabbing hold of Andy's shoulder to steady herself. ******** it, she thought and held out her hand. "Give me one of those things." She motioned towards the cigarette.
