Fading alerts feature

Which types of notifications would you like to see most?

Friend posts a forum topic	5.0%	[ 210 ]
Friend updates avatar/profile	3.7%	[ 154 ]
I get a pm from someone	25.3%	[ 1065 ]
Friend logs into site	21.1%	[ 890 ]
Someone replies to my topic	17.9%	[ 756 ]

these alerts are annoying, I don't need them	9.7%	[ 407 ]

I would love to see notifications when I get replies on my topics or quoted.

But I STRONGLY dislike being updated about my friend changing their avatar...Profile updates I can handle, but I just don't have the need to know if my friend looks different every 5 minutes.

I'm sure it's been said many times, but most of my notifications are for updated avatars by people who I'm not even friends with.

i think the only damn cool thing would be to see your pms and i tried the add on but randon stuff pops up and it gets annoying

So, I think that the updates are helpful, but at times can be annoying. I get a PM from a friend and it keeps popping up through I have already viewed the message. Or, a friend changes his/her avatar once and it comes up multiple times. I would like to know when a friend logs on, but I never get a notice for that.

At first I thought they were okay, untill I let go of some people as friends. Their updates still flashed on the screen, annoying the heck out of me. Do you think it could be a bug?

We should be able to turn what notifications we don't want off.
It gets annoying when I get a pm, and I see it at the top, and while I'm reading it pops up. burning_eyes

would this integrate with the new messages system so a little box flashes letting you know something happened instead of the you have x new things happening making you have to to your Gaia page so they go away? cuz that would be awesome

It would keep me from spamming refresh every few minutes when people are online to see if they have posted something

though, it doesn't help guild topics because they can't be subscribed to so guess they will need to be refreshed

I really like this idea...but the notifications for me aren't working well. They are late, and pop up multiple times. I got about 3 notifications about some stranger changing their avi.

It keeps repeating... and it says only ONE alert

#1 [insert friend] changed their avatar
#2 [same friend] changed their avatar
#3 [same friend] changed their avatar

GAHHHH!!!! SO ANNOYING!!! Needs quite a bit of improvement. I would rather not use it than see that some arbitrary friend changed their avatar... -_-

It seems like it could be handy, but I had to deactivate it because it kept repeating the same message, that I had received a PM that I had already read. I also don't need the avatar change updates. Pop ups for quotes would be nice too. Otherwise seems like a nice idea ^^
