I slept.
xd
Well, that's not entirely accurate. I did watch
Freddy vs. Jason and
The House of the Dead since I felt like watching bad horror movies. I got sleepy before watching an actual good horror movie (either
The Fog or
The Descent), unfortunately.
Quarantine was honestly pretty cool, but after seeing the Spanish original,
Rec, it seems kind of lackluster in comparison. It's not that
Quarantine is a bad horror movie, but certain elements of
Rec (like how the female lead isn't whimpering the whole ******** time) make it stand out more in my eyes.
In other movie news,
Plague Town looks pretty intense, even if it's another "wacky family in the boonies" kind of deal.
Defiance has
James Bond Daniel Craig creating a Jew Army of Refugees to fight the Nazis. Edward Zwick hasn't done a single actual bad movie so far, so I'm sure this will stand alongside his other work.
The Unborn looks like a nice change of pace from all the torture-porn horror movies.
I'm very sad at the small chances of
My Name is Bruce coming to San Jose, much less the Monterey area. San Francisco's somewhat likely, though.
Gran Torino looks like something I never thought I'd want to see: Grandpa Dirty Harry/William Munny vs. Kids on his Lawn. I missed Clint Eastwood's scowl.
Dare I say it,
JCVD actually looks like, well... a
good Jean-Claude Van Damme movie. I can't believe my eyes.
Despite some recent not-so-hot choices in movies, Jason Statham remains a believable and overall impressive action star.
The Transporter 3 looks to restore some energy to the dead-after-one-sequel series, and seems to have all the energy that the original had.
Push looks like a**. Chris Evans and Djimon Hounsou are both charismatic and likeable, but this is a definite "wait for DVD" kinda movie.
Splinter has the same feeling as
Feast, and will hopefully be similar. I'm not expecting anything fancy from this, but please, don't make it some kind of secret government weapon again.
Finally,
Soul Men looks like a fun, appropriate send-off for Bernie Mac.
