I know this may sound foolish, but how do you apply to be an assistant moderator?

Moderator Assistants are a step in the training process -- you can't apply to just be an assistant.

Currently, there are only two ways to become a forum assistant.
One way is to be on top of reporting any legit violations you find/see.
If a moderator or staff member notices your commitment to reporting,
and if they're in need of assistants, they'd offer you the opportunity
to become a forum assistant.
Another indirect way is to apply to become a moderator.
If a user is accepted into moderator training, they are put into
a temporary class of being a forum assistant.
If the user then passes their training, they're turned into a mod.
Now, I'm not exactly sure what would happen if a user doesn't pass their mod training.
The following is only a guess from me, as I haven't been through the process.
If a user doesn't pass mod training, they might be given the opportunity to be a
forum assistant, if they desire, or they could may not be given the opportunity
to become a forum assistant.
Again, my last statement was purely my best guess, as I haven't been in the situation.

As far as I understand it, there are two ways to be a Forum Assistant.

The first is to apply to be a moderator, and have your application accepted. Then you'll be given the pink name and title that Forum Assistants get, and the responsibilities that come with it. This lasts until your training period is over, then you get the green name that full-fledged Moderators have, and the related responsibilities.

The other way to become a Forum Assistant is to be recommended for the job. There are a handful of FAs out there that aren't in the process of becoming mods. I don't know exactly how one gets that job, but I'd guess that following the rules of a forum and reporting violations properly are two big parts of it.

A full-time FA may be able to offer more insight into how they got their job, though I'm not sure if such a thing is actually allowed to be shared. ^^;;

You must be 18 to sign the NDA, so if you're younger, you cannot apply.
Any users who lie about their age to apply can and will be banned,
according to question 3 in the second post.

Really? Then why does it say on your profile that you're 14?
You joined in 2011, so I'm pretty sure that you couldn't be 14 in 2011
then turn 22 halfway into 2012. neutral
Keep in mind what I said, if you falsify your information,
you can and more than likely could be banned for lying about your age.

Go to your Account Settings page and locate the "General Settings" section.
If the birthday there calculates you to be under 18 years old,
Gaia will automatically block you from being able to access the app.
If you need to change the birth year, you must file a ticket
to request the birth year of your account be changed.
You'll more than likely be asked to provide evidence of your age,
such as an image of an ID or drivers license with your birthday on it.

forget gaia i want my account back and guess what did i get it after sending a million reports ... NO damn all i wanted was my account but you know who cares yupp i accidently gave out my password tricked by the con artist so what i want my account is that too much to ask for ?

1.) This thread is purely for discussion related to the mod application process,
not about complaining about losing your account or getting hacked.
2.) You only need to file one report, so sending in more than one
can be considered spamming the report feature and can result
in your report taking longer to get to.
3.) Did you file a Hack Report?
If so, it takes around a month to get a reply, as there are users
who've gotten hacked before you and hundreds (if not thousands)
of reports that the moderators and staff must go through.
Patience is key when you get hacked and file a report.

There are permanent FAs like me. I and the others are not mods in training. In order to be a permanent FA you need to be a good citizen and be invited by a mod to apply.
