Hi.. I hope it's okay to ask a question here about getting some help with GIMP.
I am currently using GIMP 2.6 and I use it to make gifs.

my question is this... when I take a video and put it into GIMP and get the frames I want... is there a way to have the frames a certain size before it spits them out?

the frames always come out as 854px X 480px
I'd like a frame at about 350x197....

I usually save the frames as .jpgs that way I can put them into Photoshop ImageReady and make my gifs.

I only ask if there is a way because it's just a pain in the a** with all the resizing, cutting and pasteing. Especially if there are a lot of frames to do.

If this isn't the place to ask for help please forgive me

Then Image>Scale Image

I'm not quite sure what you mean.

What I am trying to do is use GIMP to resize the frames while extracting them before I place the frames 1 by 1 into the ImageReady program to actually create the gif.

I just use GIMP to get the frames I want. I don't actually use it to make the gif itself.

As far as I know
You can only resize images after you put them in gimp
There is no way to edit the size you'd like them to be at before gimp shows you
So that's the way to resize all the frames to a certain size after you add them to gimp

I'm sorry. I don't think I explained myself very well.
here's what I do... I open GIMP, go to Video, got to Extract Video Range then I find the clip I want and then click on Video Range.
this is what I get

I change the settings so that each of the frames save as a .jpg instead of a .xcf when I click on Ok it pops up a window asking about quality and I click okay. Then it goes through and starts to produce each frame and it saves into my pictures folder. The frames(or each screencap) is 854px X 480px

I use ImageReady through photoshop to copy and paste each frame(screencap) but before I do that I have to resize each screencap to a size of 350x197 (just the size I pick) then paste it one by one.

I am just trying to figure out if there's a way while its in video range to change the size before the screencaps save.

I'm guessing since people are finding it hard to answer that it might not be possible.

I've gotta question.
I'm sure you've seen photo that have horizontal angled likes on a gimp edit photo
do you know how to do that?

And it probably has something to do with frames that are...not rectangles...
