to be fair, it's safe to say the BACKGROUND is referenced, but the Rin part? that's pretty much copied. altho I am guessing the anon is either the artist or a friend of the artist.

really, how hard is it to understand copying the overall theme of existing art and copying especially closely the central figure of it is art theft? and their main excuse as to why it's not art theft? "they heavily referenced it, they didn't trace it."

really. and with all this fuss being made by someone who is likely connected to the art thief I'm actually looking into the rest of their gallery (I admit, I have my spiteful moments). their most recent one is Bleach fanart that closely copies a frame from chapter 514 AND they're selling prints of it. and I've caught some other stuff as well, even leaving out the stuff where they admittedly used existing lineart (and excusing one case where they admit they used someone else's work but lost the source).

I have honestly never heard of them until now. But I think I should be thankful for that. Any subbing group that can't use proper spelling and grammar in their title shouldn't be subbing in the first place.

sadly, I can't call them out on it as it hasn't even been up 9 hours and they've already disabled comments on it.

yup, my dA is kageitachi, I was the second to comment on it. and, even as crappy as my art is, I find it disgusting my stuff doesn't get as many hits AND favorites as an obviously stolen piece like this does.

it got bumped to the top since their account is barely 2 days old and already they have 6 copied images I've sourced, 1 I'm quite sure is a copy but haven't sourced (the odd-eyed anime girl), and 1 I'm uncertain of... not to mention the fact some of the pencil drawings seem a bit suspect to me as well.

I've been doing some experiments with my weak sound -> vision synesthesia and last night picked a track from one of the AoEx OSTs to work with. I'm wondering if anyone here would be interested in seeing the image that resulted.
