  • Title: Jacob Edenburgh
  • Artist: The Muse Ideal
  • Description: Jacob is an original character created by my best friend Sierra (on gaia as Requiem Rosario, if you want to read some of her work). I've added an excerpt from an untitled short story featuing Jacob in the below comments. In short, Jacob is a vampire created by Alistair Draven, his best friend in mortality, in seventeenth-century England. A former knight of the Court, Jacob was promoted to be Alistair's personal Chevalier after recieving the life-threatening injury that scarred his eye.

  • as it had mine. And looking upon him, silent and meditative as his deep violet eyes scanned the yellowed pages of one of his crumbling volumes, oblivious to my melancholic gaze, i felt in that which was once a heart a deep sadness. The love that i felt for him was almost enough to keep me here, with him. Each night, in our un-ending quest for blood (murder, that it was!), Jacob was still the courteous, thoughtful, and ever-pondering gentleman I had known and loved. This monstrosity, vamparism, never seemed to have penetrated to his soul,

  • like gold hammered to fit precious gems framed his ivory face and amethyst eyes, and the long running scar that had yet to disappear. I had thought that immortality, that the constant and ever-cleansing hands of time would wash the imperfection from his perfect face of alabaster, but it seems to have worked to the opposite effect. In the nearly four centuries that we have faced together, that scar has become a constant reminder of the past that we shared.

  • "I passed by the study to find him nearly buried in books, not to my surprise. Jacob had always loved his books, his stacks and stacks of tomes, collected over the centuries to stand nearly his full height. The many collected histories, the crumbling lexicons and thick, ancient volumes written in tongues that only he cared to understand surrounded him in all their colors and shapes, exposing no secrets that had yet to be seen and pondered by those fathomless violet eyes. His long silken hair
