Zabuza ran down the hall after a little girl barely dressed and stopped to look around
zabuza~you may be able to hide but I didn’t teach you how to control your chakra yet
ann did her best to stifle her breathing, but zabuza soon pulled her out from under the bed. She groaned and kicked him as he carried her to the bathroom. Inside he dropped her into the tub. Ann sighed and pouted
zabuza~we’ve been training for four days. Bath
she pouted more and splashed him. Zabuza sighed and continued on with the bath

after getting all cleaned up, zabuza laid in bed while ann sat on his stomach
zabuza~you'll be leaving next week
ann~ “are you sure they’ll let me be a ninja?”
zabuza~more likely than if you were blind. The most troubling thing you’d have to do is write out what you want to say
ann~ “if you say so”
he nodded then got up, making ann fall
zabuza~what’s for dinner?

A classroom door opened and ann walked in
iruka~hm? Oh hello. You must be our new student, ann
she nodded and came to his desk.
iruka~would you like to introduce yourself?
Ann shook her head
iruka~not much of a talker huh?
Ann touched her neck and shook her head
iruka paled~o-oh...you’re mute? I-i-i-i...
ann raised her hand and smiled
iruka~*sigh* if you like, I could find someone who signs so you could participate in class
ann nodded~ “i’d like that”
iruka~alright. Go ahead and sit with ravi. Ravi, can you please raise your hand?
Ann made her way to her new seat

at recess ravi had ann follow her to sit with naruto and sasuke.
ravi~you’ve been very quiet since we sat together. Is there something wrong?
Ann just shook her head and smiled
naruto~maybe she just doesn’t like to speak
ann just shook her head again
sasuke~can you speak?
Ann smiled and shook her head
ravi gasped~at all?!
Ann shook her head again
ravi~then how do you speak?!
Ann raised her hands
ravi~i don’t understand
ann pursed her lips and thought, then she grabbed naruto’s apple and pointed at it
ravi~it’s an apple
ann signed for apple
ravi~i don’t get it...
ann signed for apple again then pointed at the fruit
sasuke~oh I get it
naruto~i don’t...
sasuke~this...*signs* means apple. She uses her hands to speak

back in the class room, iruka pulled ann to the side
iruka~we got someone to help translate for you ann. This is kakashi sensei
kakashi~ “please don’t make things too hard. i’m a bit rusty for conversation”
ann~ “that’s okay. i’m still learning to sign”
kakashi nodded to her
ann~ “i’m gonna go to my seat now”
kakashi nodded again and watched her go
iruka~are you okay sensei?
kakashi~the sign she used for “go” is what anbus use...
iruka~you don’t think...
kakashi~no...she’s not...but she may have been trained by one...
iruka~you got all that from just her signing a word?
kakashi~well her chakra doesn’t tell me she’s undercover...but there are certain things that makes me uneasy. She has certain ticks that are more common in older ninja
iruka~i’ll keep an eye out for that. You can stay up front...
