RINS

- Full name: Rins Invictus Exelaire
- Age: Unknown, but documented 23.
- Residence: Cappelone*
- Occupation(s): King, wizard.
- Magic element: Light***

APPEARANCE:
- Hair colour: White
- Eyes colour: Black
- Height: 152 cm**
- General appearance: Short hair. Lower eyelashes are notably long. Has beauty mark near the left eye. Wears 4 earrings on left ear (has property to help him hear), various rings, and occasional simple bracelets. Wears layered clothes with short sleeves. Formal dresses are high-necked with a lot of golden embroidery details.

SUMMARY:
Rins was brought to Kingdom of Cappelone to be raised as king at age 2. He’s a loud kid with pure white hair and knack for heavy drinking. Although seemingly frank, Rins is very secretive and immaculately calculative. Things that happen around him tend to take place according to his design (think 11th Doctor from Doctor Who).

He participated in numerous wars, mostly with his best friend, Vernal, who he never lets out to battlefield without his escort. With his parents cold and detached due to his arrival that marked the end of his father’s reign, he became attached to Vernal and his father, King of Visca, who treated him like real family, and Empress of Noctua, of whom he considers his own grandmother.

When he’s a kid, he was sexually abused by his brother’s fiancé and decided to leave the castle, although all three of them remain friends. She gave him a residence and offered to join her school. He agreed and left the office to his oldest brother.

His identity is confided to two students: Eoin Gallead, the head of Cappelonian Wizards Guild; and Maev Capitolina, an aspiring knight. The three soon became close friends, and somehow shared a low-key love triangle between them.

PERSONALITY:
Calculative, loud, flashy.

Rins is highly intelligent. He’s incredibly perceptive and thorough, but has tendency to keep his thoughts for himself. (As he said, “Being loud makes my intelligence unobservable.”) His far planning makes him seem antagonistic sometimes, but he’s only plotting for greater good.

He’s an incredible singer, although doesn’t like performing for public. He is also talented in numerous domestic skills, most notably cooking and embroidery. Rins doesn’t do sports except horseback-riding. Although seemingly very clumsy for anything other than cleaning the house, he’s actually a little skilled in swordsmanship. He has an espada ropera for defense which he concealed using magic.

Majorly foul-mouthed, and he is usually loud and talkative, so his silence is always a little alarming. Most of the times, he will excuse himself when he needs to do a lot of thinking. He's quite sensitive about other people's feelings, but can be quite thick when it comes to his own.

His actual height is 178 cm, but he never reveals his real appearance, except once, to Maev. Even though he magically rendered his actual appearance on purpose, he’s still pretty petty about his height—mostly because both of his step-brothers are big like giants.

Rins is ambidextrous and, like Maev, has incredibly high alcohol resistance.

HISTORY:
Rins is descendant of Apollo (as signified by his white hair and possession of light magic, although he uncommonly has black eyes and beauty mark), and thus, as per local belief, shall rule Kingdom of Cappelone. After being discovered in Imperium** wilderness, Rins was brought to Cappelone** at approximately age 2. He had no recollection of his earlier life, and possessed no vocabulary. He communicated in songs for the first 2 weeks of his admittance to the castle, while being taught speech. He was named ‘Rins’ by Empress of Noctua**, which meant ‘bright’ and ‘defender of men’. His second name, ‘Invictus’, which meant ‘unconquered’, was given by the king-crown.

Following local tradition, he’s kept from audience until he became king. He lived in a secluded section of the castle with his tutor, and later her son. His brothers were allowed to see him when they’re of age 12, or until he turned 6, when private introduction to other royal families would be held. Because of his lonesome early life, he's not awfully fond of performing in public and would only do so when the situation calls for (or if requested by Empress Koruna). In spite of his preference, Rins has an excellent aptitude in public speaking. (And because he's loud and flashy, he automatically invites spot light.)

He was engaged soon after the introduction, but it ended when his suitor died in battlefield during a civil war in which they were stationed. He was engaged again at age 10, but broke off the engagement due to his involvement to his brother’s fiancé.

Rins became king at age 12. He handed the office to his eldest brother when he decided to attend school.

STORY:
Resha got engaged to a noblewoman and friend, but soon broke off the engagement upon learning that she made a pass on his brother. Although Resha didn’t have grudge or think of him responsible whatsoever, guilt-ridden Rins decided to get out of the castle for a while. The three remains friends after the incident, and the woman offered Rins to join her school where she is the headmistress, promising protection and secrecy. She gave him a residence in a deep forest, where he tends to his needs on his own (and eventually cultivated great domestic skills).

Rins’s identity was trusted to two students to help him through the school life: Eoin Gallead and Maev Capitolina. Recht, under instruction from Ron, also joined the school soon after, although the two feigned ignorance. He soon learned that Rins fell in love with the headmistress, who was then already married to a wealthy merchant. Although trying to keep it to himself, frustrated Rins eventually opened up to Eoin, and was overheard by Recht. He later decided to keep the secret, and began to display greater sympathy to Rins.

As light wizard, he has great capacity in protective and healing magic, and he masters telepathy, although the nature of his element made him horrible at attacking spells.

He lost his hearing on the left ear during Albanus Civil War, although it was not made public and was only known to Empress Koruna and, apparently, his eventual wife.

In short: a multi-talented dweeb with multiple emotional challenges and enormous stress that derived from his fear that he might not be 'quite human'.

RELATIONSHIPS:
Family: Rins has 2 older step-brothers: Ron and Resha. Although his relationship with his parents are rather cold and detached, the brothers are more welcoming and warm towards him. They were taught knighthood skills together. Ron, older by 10 years from Rins, is calm and witty, with sarcastic sense of humour. Resha, older by 3 years, is the most skillful in physical ability, quick-tempered, and is the most straight-forward among the brothers.

Royal circle:
- Reandra Quartlin: She’s a seer who found Rins in Imperium and took him to Cappelone. She could see future and talk to dead seers in her sleep. She taught Rins speech and, later, numerous knowledge. She resided with Rins in the secluded part of the castle, and raised him lovingly. She died when Rins was 7, after giving birth to her own son, which she’d informed beforehand to the king.

- Rechter Quartlin: Reandra’s son. He lived with Rins in the castle, and was tutored alongside the princes in knighthood skills. He has a love-hate relationship with Rins, knowing that he used to ask Reandra to not give birth to Recht to avoid her death. But since they were raised as brothers, Recht and Rins still care about one another, although barely displaying it. Like Rins, he’s also highly observant and thoughtful, with aptitude in teasing people, just like Ron, to whom he’s the closest.

- Vernal Ixanthus: Vernal is a prince from another country, Visca. His father, King Ixora, taught Rins how to ride horse, and he loves Rins like his own son, making Vernal his unofficial brother. Rins is closer to King Ixora and Vernal rather than his own father and brother. Vernal is a talented knight and is infamously good-looking. He’s cheerful, affectionate, rather simple, and rarely takes off his smiley face. Vernal came to visit every summer and occasional winter. His visits are rather rare but long, due to the distance between their countries.

Rins only talks about personal, relationship-related problems to Vernal, as he'd always been there with him since the beginning. Both of Rins's former fiances were their childhood friends, and he was there when the first one died, and he's there to know the reason why the second one ended. When it comes to relationship problems, Vernal is Rins's major confidante.

- Koruna Wagler: Empress of Noctua, an elderly woman who taught sewing and embroidery to Rins—skills he learned vigorously to please her. She’s a sickly woman who used to be a great craftsman wizard in her time. She treated Rins like her grandson, and he’s very fond of her. Rins visits her often, and would sing to her for days upon request.

School:
- Eoin Gallead: Eoin was trusted to guard Rins’s identity during school whilst assisting him along with Maev. Both of them became his first friends, and the three usually meets in either Maev’s tavern or Eoin’s noodle shop. Eoin is a very uneasy man, conservative and generally quiet, except around his two best friends.

- Maev Capitolina: Maev is a knight who specializes in archery. In work ground, she’s highly ethical and reliable, thus she was trusted to also guard Rins’s identity in school. Maev works in a tavern as barmaid at night, while taking school in the morning and doing military training in the afternoon. Just like Eoin, she’s generally very quiet and serious, except around her friends. Being the physically strongest among the three, the boys usually submitted to her in fear of a beating.

She’s very insecure about the fact that she never had a boyfriend, blaming her bed-hopping habit and lack of femininity. Maev is a strong, independent girl and is quite popular among her customers and friends, although she’s oblivious to this, believing she’s unattractive. She has a crush on Eoin when they first met, and continued to be slightly jealous when he began relationship with Liara, thus was aspired to steal his best friend off him.

Maev moved to Cappelone on her own in her youth, which made her too used to relying on herself. She’s fond of Rins who treats her with gentleman manner when they’re alone, and thus she usually displays vulnerability to him.

She has short, maroon hair and mauve-coloured eyes.
