OctoCamo's Diary
I write here what I please and act like someone cares.

Ah, the summer is still here. Still tad bit too sunny and hot for my liking, but it won't last for long anymore. Nights are already really dark.

Still no news about the guy I'm covering for, so my contract was once again extended with 1½ month. (Until the end of September)
I wonder where they keep getting these dates. Are they based on something that the guy keeps telling or are they just guessing when he might come...

I had two week summer vacation, now next vacation to look forward to is at earliest 1½ months away when my work ends or as late as during the holiday season. Either way, blargh.... "So what did you do on your vacation" I hear nobody asking.

Well, first week went pretty much in cleaning my room for redecoration to make space for this.

I got a new TV stand / bookcase set from Ikea. My first brand new furniture ever.
So I put the TV stand together evening it came and next day I put everything else together and started filling the shelves. If you want a closer look what's on the shelves, you can click the pictures for bigger better versions.
Also during my vacation I helped my co-worker to move and got her old two person sofa. Fits in my room really well. Next I'll be getting one more bookshelve and wardrobe. Maybe a small table and chair under my window if it wouldn't get in the way when going to the wardrobe or bookshelve.

But speaking of the shelves, in journal entry on 01/09/14, I posted about "Moeru!" moefied monster encyclopedia which I decided to shamelessly put on the artbook shelve too. I just got some really good laughs at the concept, so I ended up buying couple more of them only month or two after the first book. (Might also order a fourth one, they recently released one about Goddesses and I like some sample pictures I've seen.) Anyway, I realized I never posted the other books before, so here. (NSFW)

During the weekend between my vacation weeks, I visited my dad and gramps in South Karelia and over there there's this park full of statues done by this one guy who spent at least last 20 years of his life (which ended some years ago) making hundreds of these things. Just as creepy as I remember from my childhood nightmares. I remember seeing some foreign article (either US or Swedish) that listed it as one of the creepiest places.

Also started watching Avatar: Legend of Aang and Legend of Korra.
Reeeeaaally like the show, one of my favorites. Finished Aang's series and first season of Korra.
Soooo looking forward to Platinum Games' Legend of Korra game coming bit later this year.
Also, couldn't resist getting artbooks.

It's not a secret that I'm excited for Hyrule Warriors.
It looks sooooooooooo goooooooooooooood. I love the character designs and roaster so much.
At first I was heartbroken because west wasn't getting the neat collector's edition, but then I realized, hey, I can use the internet to pre-order it from Japan. So I did, so ta-ta-ta-daaaa! Here it is and I love it. Scarf is really long, soft and warm.

The chest is a lot smaller than I expected, I can't think of an obvious use for it. It plays music when opened.
The triforce clock also has alarm function with three different music clips from Hyrule Warriors if you can only wake up to epic music.
I wish they would've had postcards for Midna, Sheik and the OG villains. Artbook has 80 pages. Really neat.

Went to see Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.
Just as good as everyone says it is. It's too early to say that it's my favorite movie, but it's up there.
Also checked out the comic series. Started from 2013 series, also really good. Though 3,65€ is bit too much for 20 page digital issue...
Fables is around same length and The Walking Dead is around 30 pages and they're both ~ 1 euro cheaper than Guardians...

Later going to watch Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
My brother told me that I should go watch The Expendables 3.

I've been losing interest in Case Closed / Detective Conan for dragging so long, to a point where it took me half a year to even notice that manga was cancelled here end of last year. I picked it up again online and caught up to latest chapter. Although I've been skipping the investigation parts unless case is advancing the plot.

Also was couple issues behind in Fables and caught up with that too. Now subscribed to the series.
Holy s**t, zombie Bigby, that's all. Can't wait for next wednesday.
And speaking of Fables, The Wolf Among Us was INCREDIBLE.

And The Walking Dead. I was expecting the new comers to ******** everything up, glad they weren't fooled by Negan.

Also switched dogs.

From Belle on the left to Roki (Intended Rocky, but doctor mispelled it to papers) on the right.
They're both my brother's dogs, but they started fighting so we've kept them seperate ever since.
My brother moved recently and is currently overworking a lot. Roki has seperation anxiety and starts howling, so we temporarely had to switch.
I prefer Belle more because she's super calm and barely ever barks or growls at anything.
But Roki is more of a showman being more open to training tricks or taking pictures.

Update: August 24th

My grandmother died last weekend. Today I went shopping to a suit and ended up having to go to a mall about an hour drive away.
Found everything I needed except for shoes. Also got jeans, shirt and some underwear.

Recently had a talk with a friend about Operation Rainfall Wii JRPGs and how I was missing Pandora's Tower.
So when I came by the limited edition that I've intended to get in one of the game stores at the mall, I decided to complete my collection.
Now I have all three: Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story Limited Edition and obviously Pandora's Tower Limited Edition.

The mall also had Gamestop, which I visited. I don't usually buy used games, but this time ended up picking up Prey for 1.95 euros. Insert was in terrible condition, so don't know why I bothered. Also bought this random Minecraft keychain bag. Ended up getting a cow.
I was hoping for Creeper or Skeleton.
