HELP!!
Sister?
"You think this is funny?!" I shook my head and went to pull Lilly into my grasp. Before I could even move, the girl was over Lilly trying to wake her. "Lilly, please!" She pulled Lilly from the couch and placed her on her back. "Stay away from me, YOU MURDERER!!!" I took a step closer to her. "Get away from me! She needs medical help! Just go away!" More tears fell from her face.
"I can help. Just give Lilly to me." I moved to her slowly and steadily. I didn't want her throwing that knife around and accidentally scratch my bride's perfect body.
She took a step back. "Don't come any closer or I'll kill you!"
"No you won't." I took another step. "Hand Lilly over, please."
"No!" Another step she took.
"I'm asking nicely. I don't want either of you hurt." Well, I really didn't care if this girl got hurt. She was of no use to me.
"No!" That got to her.
I took another step and she threw the knife. It stabbed me in the heart but nothing happened. No blood. No pain. Just tears. But not my tears any more. I pulled the knife from my skin and dropped it to the ground. "Your human weapons don't hurt us."
She stared at me, then the blade on the ground, then back to me. "What are you?! You're not even human!"
"No I'm not. Now give Lilly here."
"No!"
"You stuborn, little human! Don't talk back to a God!" I willed my scythe into my hands, then I put the tip of the blade to her throat. "Drop the girl." She didn't move. "Obey me!" She did this time and I grabbed Lilly before she could even touch the ground.
"Please, sir, don't kill me. I just want to help my friend." Even more tears than before fell from here face.
I held Lilly to my chest and pushed the hair from her face. "Are you her friend?" Maybe she could be of some use.
"Yes. I was over here yesterday and I called her this morning to see if anything was wrong. She never came to school so I was bringing her homework to her. I knew I should've skipped school completely. I knew something was wrong but I did nothing!" She was struggling to say the last words. "I-I was p-probably the cause of her-"
"No." I cut her off and she curled up on the ground.
"I'm sorry,sir."
I sighed. "I'm guessing your Kerina. Am I wrong?"
She looked at me surprised I new her name. "H-how-"
"I was with her when you called."
She scooted away from me with a horror-struck face. "So you did kill her," she whispered.
"I'm her lover." And maybe her killer. "I would never hurt her on purpose." That mush was true. She sighed in relief. "Come here. I want to give you a little something."
She hesitated before getting up.
I held out my hand and showed her a soul. "I've been keeping this in case of an emergency." Which never happens considering I'm God. "It will allow a person to come back from the dead."
Her face lit up. "So that means you can bring her back!"
I shook my head. "No. The soul I give her will only erase her memories and personallity. Nothing will be the same about her."
She dropped her head in defeat. "So how do we bring her back?"
We? "We can't do anything. She has to."
"I'm confused."
"Her soul roams the underworld until she can go to Hades. Hades then can say if she can come back or not. Most of the time it's a no, but considering the circomstances, maybe she will come back." I sure hope she does.
She sat on the couch and sighed. "I hope I can talk to her one more time. We're sisters, just not by blood."
I fixed my grip on Lilly's body and started to move to her room.
"Where are you going?"
"To put her in her room. It's quiet in there and I can keep the body warm so the cells and organs won't die. She can only come back if there is a living container." I walked into the room and closed the door behind me. She doesn't need to see a god cry. Not in her life time.
"I'll come back later then." She knocked on the door. "Are you going to still be here?"
"Yes." I opened the door after setting Lilly down on her bed. "Why must you come back though?"
"I need to be by her side. Like I said, I'm her sister." And with that she left for the front door.
Humans have such weird promises and sayings. I never truly looked into them when I studied. "Crazy humans." I muttered.
"I heard that!"
I jumped, then sighed. I need to stop talking to myself.
I closed the door and went to Lilly's side.
