He is my friend She is my friend
I like using the phrase "My Friend" when describing any number of people. I feel it simplifies things. I had gotten used to the phrase after moving to a new location where nobody would know the names of my old friends anyway, so I would just use "my friend from ----" It also is good for using when explaining to my sis when I don't care to give full detail.
I also, also find it useful when talking to people that already know who I am talking about and there is no reason to use names.
This is why I found it extra funny when I used the phrase "my friend" and one of my friends freaked out at me. They were very irritated, their voice was raised and they repeated what they were saying over three times (I wonder if they were trying to tell me, everyone else in the room, or just trying to tell himself). This is not the first time they got riled up about the "my friend" (referring to the same friend as they exploded about before).
This friend who keeps getting annoyed tries to tell me that he doesn't care, when he obviously does. It is not like they force me to explain names on any other friend than this specific one, especially when they already know who I am referring to. They will not take my calm "my friend," they have to exaggerate and make as big of deal out of it as they possibly can. He really makes himself look like an a**.
But then again I still luvls him, as he is my friend *hugs over emotional friend*
