When I woke up, I could tell that it was past midnight. My hands felt numb and I couldn’t move them. My first thought was that I was going to be killed. The worst part about it was that it was true. Something very warm touched my back and shot pain into my entire body. I tried to get away and see who it was but I couldn’t. The pain was unbelievable. I tried to call out for help but couldn’t either. It wasn’t like I was gagged or something like that, but I was immobilized. I couldn’t do anything unless the caster of the immobilization charm called it off. The only thing I could do was wait. Simon lifted his hand off my back and the pain went away, sort of. I was so scared that I could of wet my pants. That would have been bad. Dying with my pants filled with pee.

Then my mind started to wander. What happened to my friends? Did they leave me or were they looking for me? What would they tell my mom? That I was lost in the forest? Would my sister be happy or sad? Then I started to think of peanut butter and jelly; why was the world round; was there a sun god, like Apollo; or was there only one god like God; and what was I going to eat? Something caught my eye. A figure appeared and was sneaking over to me. It was Fenix.

“What happened to you? You made us worried sick, Leon,” he whispered harshly. I was trying to say, "Watch out! Simon’s here! He can easily kill you!" but no sound came out. “You’re the reason our group is together. We would have gone our own way if you weren’t here.” He picked me up and turned to leave.

As we left to go back to our camp, I saw Simon standing in the fire light. He mouthed "See you later, buddy," and it felt like a weight was lifted off of me. I really didn’t want to meet Simon again.
