Personality
Calliope comes from a very normal pack where few have odd colouring and as such she finds non-naturally coloured wolves quite disturbing. She can be very cold and formal and quite derisive to those wolves with odd patterning unless they comport themselves particularly well.
She is a fair and balanced alpha with her mate - though she's not fond of outsiders, since she does not know their strengths, weaknesses, break points and the like. She likes to be informed and gets a little 'stressed when she is in a situation where she doesn't know the variables or have any clue of the outcome - which means she worries often.

Aoede, as one of to in the first litter of the alpha pair and, indeed, of the Glen pack, was brought up a little spoiled - unlike her sister, though, she didn't outgrow those spoiled childish ways, letting her natural exuberance for life be warped into a more unnatural fascination with 'being pretty'.
Whilst not knowing an awful lot, she would pretend she did, getting her into some tricky situations - and leading her parents to despair. Their 'nagging' meant she felt that she was being slighted constantly and they weren't worthy of her magnificent presence... so when the devilishly handsome Helios showed up, she quickly traipsed off with him - despite his bad reputation and the fact he had designs on taking over her parents territory. She would be his queen, she decided! Of course, he had no such intentions, and on realising this and the fact that Helios was actually trying to hurt her parents and her kin, she came (was partly dragged) back to her pack and her senses.
She is now trying to redeem herself by throwing herself into the care of her sister - born not long after the attack and the only girl in a litter of four.

Gaias is a wolf of simple pleasures - flowers, trees, other creatures - he is fascinated by them and is prone to daydreaming. He has no real aims in life, but he doesn't really want to be a 'hunter' as he's not keen on actually killing the creatures he loves to observe.
He has a special friendship with Neptune, and is one of the few wolves in the pack who don't hold some odd prejudice / pity for the albino male because of his father.

As the only pale pup amongst 6 siblings, with two dark-coloured parents, she feels slightly out-of-place and has a small niggling fear that she is not really their daughter...

Although a large wolf, Ouranos is quite gentle at most times, enjoying spending time with pups and doing menial tasks which others with more ambition might balk at. He is content to follow Zagreus around. The only moments he might bring his bulk and rare temper is if this other is threatened. He has an extreme loyalty to Zagreus and, due to events in their past, will not hesitate to defend him.
Ouranos took a mate, but lost her and was left with two pups to raise, and a bit of a broken heart - he's only now starting to come out of it, training the youngest wolves in the pack to hunt by way of 'therapy'.

Constantine grew up in a rather sad environment - his father was loving, but withdrawn and there were few other wolves his age around with whom to make up for the lack of company. His youth was punctuated by the 'invasion' of Helios and company and the odd-looking pup grew up a little faster than might be hoped.
Constantine has long had a crush on Aoede, though he doesn't dare say so. He feels his floppy ears give him an ungainly look, and he knows she values good looks!

'Neira is an oddly mixed individual. She was a lower-ranking female who was thrown from her pack when she was found to be pregnant - giving her a long lasting hate of the male who impregnated her and all male wolves n general. She resented her pup but, as the little one is the only surviving from a litter of four, she wanted her to survive as a badge of her triumph over hardship.
She is deferential to anyone who shows authority, never wishing to rock the boat, especially after what had happened to her before. She did have ambitions though, but most of them are were being channelled via her daughter.
'Neira's daughter Maia has now left, running off due to her mother's overbearing attitude. The older female is slightly upset at this, feeling somewhat betrayed and worrying for her daughter whom she considers naeve. She is angry with her but, at the same time, a small gut feeling tells her she is really at fault.
When the pack 'Neira joined disintigrated, she left, staggering out into the world like a lost chick. She had lost yet another pack, had found herself along again,betrayed again, hurt again. 'Neira is beginning to believe it's not just males who are bad, but all wolves, and is (hopefully) now on a journey towards realising that's not true.

Maia grew up meek and bullied by her mother - it was the only way her mother knew of 'training' her and holding her close. However, due to this and her not liking the odd pack which her mother joined, she struck out into the world on her own.
Unfortunately, not listening so much to her mother's advice was a bad idea as she quickly ended up in the same predicament - pregnant and on her own. When she birthed her litter, she was given another pup to care for by an odd wolf who showed up right after - though she's never told Mercury he's not one of her own and loves him as dearly as if he was.
Having travelled much as a young pup, and not having any siblings or friends at the time, Maia is used to being on her own and making her own amusement. She travels because she likes it, not because she has to, and has no destination in mind.

Mars is a born leader - though of what, he's not sure. He mostly leads around his brother Mercury - exploring, investigating and getting into the sort of scrapes that young male wolves always do. He's always been a handful for his mother, but she's also always given him full-reign when it comes to doing what he wants... within reason. He often visits her for a few days and then he and his constant companion will go off 'on an adventure' for a few weeks. The arrangement suits them both well.
Mars longs for some wild and epic adventure, but as yet he's having trouble finding one...

Mercury is a bit of a follower, at heart - he doesn't have any main goal in life, but he is happy and willing to go along with the various scrapes his brother gets into. One day, he imagines settling down and having pups of his own, but that's, to his mind, far in the future.
Unlike his mother and some of his siblings, he doesn't like to be alone - possibly another reason why he feels compelled to follow his brother.
He does not know he was not born to Maia - though he looks the least like her of all her pups, and it is only by a fluke that he actually shares the same, womanising father as the rest of his brothers and sisters. He has never suspected and the only two people who know are his adoptive mother and Kalain, the one who brought him to her after his birth mother had died.

Brusque to the point of being offensive, Iphis does not know what subtlety is. She is not clever or good with words and would probably not get along well with wolves who were. Picked on from a young age because of her odd looks she's become slightly introverted and finds it hard to trust others. She's also taken on an alterego - she thinks of herself as a 'direwolf' - a beast her mother has told her is in her ancestry. This thought helps her get on with life - especially when faced with others who tease or pick on her.
She's recently joined the Antianeira pack - a pack who values her sheer strength which gives her a huge ego boost.

Quintus was washed up one day on the beach near the Outriders pack and saved by Amelie. He stayed with them until he was grown and hen set out on his own - he feels a deep underlying sense of duty, to be connected to something, but what that is has not presented itself yet.
As he came from so far, his language was not that common to the wolves of this region and he had a little trouble learning - he still has a little trouble, though he is mostly fluent - times of stress tend to make him stumble over the words or his new language or mix them up.

Ravia has always felt a deep sense of loss for the brother who disappeared when she was a youth - she was charged with keeping an eye on the pups and whilst checking one, lost sight of Quin. Whilst her parents were understanding, it only left her feeling worse and she felt deeply hurt at his loss.
Recently, though, a wanderer mentioned he had seen a wolf who looked like their kin - he was a wandering storyteller, her parents said, and was likely making it up - but how he described Quin fit with how she remembered her brother. Though it would be an arduous journey, she decided she would go to find if what the old bard had said was true and, in a way, redeem her fault of loosing her baby brother.

Helios is an archetypal spoilt prince. He is large, arrogant and quick to release his temper upon others when something does not go his way. He sees himself as better than those surrounding him and believes he has what it takes to run a pack. He doesn't. He antagonises others, blames them for his own shortcomings and doesn't listen to advice from those more experienced than him. Flattery goes far with him as he believes he is a most stunning wolf (which, to be fair, he is...)
When his former pack began to fission due to the pack being large, new groups forming - the usual order of things - he attempted to take control of the main pack by challenging his alpha. His persistance in this matter got him a blinded eye and scar. He left the pack, believing himself "disfigured and monstrous" but telling all that he would start his own, better pack! Some day he wishes to avenge himself on his old pack.
Having decided to do this, and realising some of his old pack had formed a new one, he decided that would be his target. He tricked, attacked, connived and generally started an all out war against them - one he lost. In that battle he also lost his one companion, Erin, who decided she would stick by him no more.
Now he's wandering, barely able to feed himself, and with no-one to dote on him - no-one knows where he's gone of if he's even still alive.

Neptune was born with a chip on his shoulder - as the son of a father who had, if not forced his mother, then tricked her. That same father had pillaged and hurt the people who he had grown up with and he always fancied that they saw him in him. He grew up feeling somewhat stigmatised and any sign of rambunctiousness i him was looked down upon more harshly than most other pups.
Although the other wolves of the pack never really meant to exclude him, many of those who didn't feel a little odd around him, pitied him - which he sees as being worse.
As an albino, he has trouble in bright sunlight and is a little weaker than he should be for a wolf his age and size (rather large, like his father) - consequently he tries to 'make up' for this by pushing himself hard. He wants to be seen as a valid member of the pack and see praise rather than pity in their eyes, but even if he does, the chip on his shoulder from previous treatment might not let him enjoy that sweet victory as much as he might.

Erin followed Helios when he left and brought his spirit back, convincing him that his wound gave him a dignified and strong look. She is the opposite to Helios in many ways: Timid, shy, quiet and knowing when to make peace the small female seems an odd companion to Helios. The pair have known each other almost all of their lives, though, and Erin has always followed Helios - though usually from afar. She is intelligent but was born as a result of a mating between her father and a lone female who abandoned her to the pack when she was born.
Erin has always tried to help Helios get out of trouble - smoothing over his indiscretions, apologising for him and generally helping the male out. She is intelligent and a good hunter but doesn't think so. Helios does have a fond affection for Erin but has always viewed her with some scorn because of her cowering manner and lowly status.
However, when Helios moved against the pack of her 'cousins' the shy female finally took a stand - she could not bear to see yet another set of wolves fall to his machinations - especially ones so closely related. When the time came, she fought for the Glen Abhainn pack and did not follow Helios when he left. Though she worries a little for him (she doesn't like to see anyone hurt) she cannot help but feel relieved to be out from under his paw.
Not long after this, she fell in love with Bakarai and the pair had a little - they stay at the second den in the Glen territory, knowing their alpha is not so fond of Bakari and her offspring's 'odd' markings.

Ovid was brought up away from the main den and, whilst he could meet with the other pups of his age in the pack, he felt a little uncomfortable when at pack meetings or when alongside the alpha - feeling she was scrutinising him and his family for signs of oddnes due to their non-'natural' markings. He felt this keenly, though Calliope herself was only vaguely aware of her effect - she didn't not like them, just felt uneasy.
This has left Ovid feeling a little alienated - his sister had odd markings, too, but they barely stood out whereas with his pale coat, his spotted back looked very irregular compared to the rest of the pack. Grown up, now, he is beginning to think he should go out into the word and find another place to accept him as he is, though he's not yet had the courage to say 'goodbye' knowing it'll hurt his mother to see him go.

When he was born, Kalain was named for one of the gods because of his odd birth-mark which seemed close to thatof the gods. As he grew he became an acolyte and quickly surpassed his master, becoming a spirit-talker at a young age - a rank in his pack which meant he was attuned to the spirits of living things and the natural ebb and flow of life. He was also gifted at healing, but had some terrible problems controlling something deep inside, which tried to control him when he was at his darkest.
His prophetical upbringing, as the darling acolyte, was not as easy as it might seem, and this, with his looks, led a lot of the other young males to tease him and many others to 'fear' or 'revere' him, or rather his gifts. He was lonely growing up and learned most about the world by observing it from the outside - leaving him reserved and not entirely bound by 'common sense' when it comes to interacting with other non-acolytes / spirit-talkers.
He specialised (unsurprisingly), in the art of Kalain, his namesake, an the guardian of natural death and rebirth - he was a healer and 'midwife', spending a lot of time around the pregnant, young and females in general.
Kalain is thoughtful, quiet, intuitive about emotions, but a little lacking in social nuances - used to being held outside them. He is very androgenous, confusing many when they first meet and is rather small for a male - even with his very fluffy, northern fur.
He ended up on his current journey when, in despair and grief from the loss of his mate, blaming himself for her and her pup's death, he decided he woud go into the world and find redemption by doing good.
His mate's sister, Mu'sha, followed him to bring him back - though the pair had never gotten on very well, their shared grief had brought them together and she was a little concerned, though she'd never let him know that. When she didn't return (because Kalain refused to go back), yet more of their pack cam looking and, eventually the lot of them decided on creating a new pack, here in the northern reaches of the southern land.
Kalain now uses this as a base to do good deeds from, and helping his new pack grow has given him something else positive to work towards.

If Kalain was brought up to be an acolyte, then Mu'sha always felt the pressure of leadership on her shoulders - she was not the oldest of her father's brood, but she wasn't far down and was expected to take her share of responsibility. She learned from the best and has always striven to see fairness and justice done.
Perhaps because or maybe in spite of the fact that her family life was so proscribed, Mu'sha has found release in several flings, despite her young years. She knows what she wants and she goes for it - she doesnt want to mate and settle down, but thatdoesn't stop her from having flings - especially with the 'gentle ruffian' types - those who are a little tough but gooey on the inside. She's almost always parted cheerfully from her beaux's and is especially insistent on ending anything which becomes too serious. Her most recent fling was with Elysion and, whilst they are no longer an item, she hold a great deal of affection for the strong, but shy wolf.
Mu'sha and Kalain have a difficult relationship - he was her sisters mate and she didn't think he was worthy of it, thinking he was a free-loader who had traded on an accident of birth to get places in life - something her pack heartily discouraged. When she got to know him a little better, she realised that he did actually have some skill, and grudgingly accepted him as 'family'. When her sister died and he left, still grieving, she felt duty bound to follow and thus ended up creating a pack here, south of their old territory.

Sati was always the baby - the youngest of a large brood, doted on and not expected to follow into the leadership unless she so wanted. As it was, she showed a strong aptitude for the spiritual world and those who had dismissed her daydreaming and sometimes vacant stares as stupidity looked again.
Whilst it is sometimes hard to figure out what Sati is thinking, and whilst she does have a rather simple, childlike nature, she does not like to see anyone hurt and has assisted Kalain for a long time in his ministrations.

Jove is the archetypal beta male wolf. Bluff, stoic, even-tempered and with a good head for tactics, he was the second in command of the Clemens pack, from which the Aves originated. When he told his alpha of their plan to make a new pack, the older wolf was a little sad, but glad that his daughter had found her own way and that Jove would be there to guide her and help her, too.
The large wolf is rather protective of Mu'sha and Sati, not being particularly keen on any males who sniff around them and making said displeasure known - much to Mu'sha's grin. He's also not greatly fond of Kalain, feeling uncomfortable in the spirit-talker's presence and also blaming him a little for the death of Mu'sha and Sati's sister.

Traits: Jove is a very physical, outdoorsy wolf - he likes to keep moving, to be doing something and to do it well. He is a master-hunter who takes pride in skill over brute force and he has trained a generation like him.

Elysion was part of a pack which dwindled in number until there were none left - simply a lack of new blood with whom to breed and no newcomers. His family was strict, regimented, and didn't look well upon those who were fanciful or 'poetic'. Despite having a heart full of awe for the world, he was trained to subdue that side of himself until it was buried deep - becoming a strong and intelligent hunter - though a little gruff or shy (depending on who was telling it). When his parents died, leaving only himself and a cousin, they parted ways and he wandered until he found Mu'sha and Kalain.
In those two wlves, he found companionship and, with the addition of some of their friends and family, he helped in setting up a new pack. The work kept him busy and a brief relationship with Mu'sha brought him out of his shell a little further - the relationship was never much more than a fling and both knew it, so they are now fast friends and he feels he can confide in her more than most others. She, and Kalain, are working to slowly bring him out of his shell and express his inner feelings and poetry.

(From the competition) I'd like for him to try to be a good little warrior for Momma but
fail miserably and, at some point, find out about Antianeira and its values (more than just the basics). Once he finds out that males there are expected to be subservient and not dominant, he'll become a little happier in himself and not feel so much need to 'prove' himself as masculine / dominant.
Whilst 'not dominant' I don't intend for him to be effete or gay, just a submissive male. I think that whilst he's still young and worried about what he will be and how he should act that I'd have him do a bit of comfort eating (mainly vegetable matter as he's not so good at killing things which would make him feel worse about himself so he'd eat more etc.) and continue to be a bit roly-poly / mildly food addicted into adulthood. He'd possibly eventually get over his mother-worship if Terr repeatedly rebuffed his attempts at affection or would at least come to a more realistic view of her.
Eventually he would maybe enter into Antianeira rather than stay in YMCA *but* because of the packs being close this would not mean that he wouldn't be able to associate and RP within YMCA and, indeed, it'd be my intent to keep those links where possible.
