Way back before the dawn of most civilizations, humans weren't on the top of the food chain. They were hunted by bigger, stronger creatures. Ones that could do feats that no modern science could hope to explain. Some individuals rose to the challenge and they began to develop skills that would help them. Soon they became exalted; immortalized for their deeds. People put so much belief and trust into them that they were reborn into the Gods and Goddess of antiquity. These Deities protected humans from monsters and natural disasters. In return they were worshipped. The more they were worshipped the stronger they got over time. Until they forgot their mortal lives all together. This is when their troubles started once more.
Over Millennia, those Deities who didn't change to fit with the culture were forgotten and they faded away. Those who did made lasting impressions and thrived. Unfortunately, not everyone could get along for the length of eternity. As cultures were bound to clash, so too were the Gods. Many of the lesser Deities were the first to fall - remembered only in stories. But as they fought off the evils of the world, tried to keep the balance in their respected realms, and fought with each other, even the greater Gods and Goddesses were not immune to death. This marked the beginning of the end for them.
Still, during their golden age, Gods and Goddesses found ways to leave their mark on the world. One of the ways they did this was by having children with mortals. Their children gained some of their Godly parent's powers but maintained a much stronger connection with the mortals. These children, later known as Demi-gods, eventually grew up. And in their growing up their godly parents realized that they could be used to fight their battles. The Gods and Goddesses began to task their Offspring with different quests. Some used them to help protect humans. Others used them to wage war against different cultures - different gods and goddesses.
Eventually the suffering of their half mortal offspring was too much for the well meaning deities to bare. Two thousand years ago a treaty was called between all the different sections, all the different pantheons. It was agreed that no more Demi-gods were to be created under pain of death. This was the only agreement that the Gods had ever made together. And they held to it. Until a hundred and fifty years ago....
As monotheistic religion gained a foothold in the world, the powers of the Gods of Old began to wane. More and more faded away as all of their worshippers stopped passing on their beliefs. Those that remained did their best to ingrain their memories so that they did not truly pass on. They continued to do their best to fight against the evils that hunted man. But it wasn't enough. They weren't enough anymore. So the ban on having Offspring was lifted. Gods and Goddesses have been free to use what strength they have left to bare children. Though the Gods and Goddesses couldn't raise their children themselves as they still had their own duties. Like in antiquity, the Demi-gods were raised by their mortal parents. Their godly parents sent trainers for each of them if or when they could; they were designed to be weapons after all.
And with their hold on the world at its weakest...the Demi-gods are being called to help their godly parents protect the balance of the world they live in. You know - saving people, hunting things.

There is some gray room with violence given that a lot more is allowed at lower ratings now than ever before but anything too overtly against the rules needs to be curbed.

Sometimes roleplays seem like they've died but they can revive if everyone is at least keeping in contact ooc. This is because sometimes life hits us all with a hammer and we have to deal with it before coming back to play. I'm okay with that. Just please don't ghost.

An example of this would be the Grecian and Roman Pantheon - they were the same gods. Almost all minor gods and goddesses are gone by this point. If they are listed as dead (see below) or malevolent they are not available to be played. Their offspring, however, may be played as they do not have to align with their parent's life choices. Also not all gods and goddesses would have had a lot of children - there will be limits on how many they'd have had over the last 150 years.
tabtab¢нαяα¢тєяѕ ══════════════════════════════════════════════════ Realistic Face Claims. Gods' and Goddesses' face claims must either fit in with their origin. You can play up to 3 characters max. You can only play 1 god or goddess. Your Demi-Gods have to be from different gods.
tabtabρσωєяѕ ══════════════════════════════════════════════════ All godly powers must directly relate to the area they are a god of or be heavily ingrained in their stories. All Demi-god powers must come directly from their godly parent. You can pick and choose but it will be our right to discuss limits. All Demi's have slowed aging; no demi has ever died of old age before (they've all died in battle) so even the gods aren't certain how long they will live. When it starts to slow down is up to you. All Demi's will also be physically more advanced than humans and be able to activate godly/divine weapons.

In the last few centuries, some gods and goddesses have grown bitter at the way the world has turned out. Their bitterness has made them turn their backs on humanity or, in some cases, seek to destroy so that they can entice people to follow them. On the other hand, there are deities that are benevolent towards human ranging from ambivalent to down right helpful. However, many of them are deceased.
Deities also may have multiple names even within the same pantheon. This can have come about due to many different reasons. So if you see a list of them on the same line, that denotes that they are the same being.
Gods were originally mortals who trained themselves to fight evil. Over time they were immortalized by absorbing magic as well as the worship energy of those they protected. They died but were reborn as Dieties. Eventually they forgot about their humanity all together.
Demi gods are created by the coupling of a Deity and a human. It takes a good amount of the Deity's power to create a demi-god. If it's a goddess birthing the demi-god, she's able to do that on her own and survive the birth. If it's a human female birthing the demi-god she needs to be in regular contact with Divine energy during gestation; it almost always ends in death upon the birth of the Demi-god.

tabtab𝐒ριяιт ωσяℓ∂ ══════════════════════════════════════════════════ The Heavens, Mount Olympus, Asguard, Aaru - these are just some names for the home of the gods. The Spirit World encompasses them. Each blend in to the next one with territories only defined by the expanses between them. Even though it overlaps the physical world, the Spirit World is not as vast. There are points where the division between the Spirit World and the Physical World is weak.
tabtabтнє υη∂єяωσяℓ∂ ══════════════════════════════════════════════════ Much like the Spirit World, the Underworld is another layer. It's just considered below the physical world. It encompasses all the afterlives of mortals as well as prisons such as the infamous Tartarus. There are areas where the underworld overlap with the Spirit world - the prime, sought after afterlives such as Valhalla and Elysium. And just like the Spirit World there are access points to the Underworld from the physical plane.
